J.K. Rowling’s books stolen Thousands of copies of J.K. Rowling’s Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them were stolen from a recycling plant in Port Talbot in Wales. Proceeds from sale of the set of books go to the charity Comic Relief, and these particular 3,000 copies were due to be recycled because they didn’t sell. Police believe the thieves will try to sell the books on the street. |
First to post! I just wanted to say I think it's a shame these books were due to be destroyed instead of being donated to libraries. |
interesting... but they were being chucked anyway. and if the shops didn't sell them then the robbers won't either. But it is wrong that the money won't end up with comic relief. they are a great charity and are very deserving of money. |
 i cant believe they stole them! but no book of Rowling should be just thrown out! I agree that they should be donated to schools and other librarys  |
I think thats fairly low. I agree with Katie Bell, they could have at least been donated to Libraries. |
I agree with you guys too. If they weren't sold they should have been donated. As a future librarian, I hate it when books are wasted or destroyed. |
....wow, I can't belive they stold them! |
i definitely agree with all of you, they should have been donated either to a library or some sort of children's outreach program that could use them to help teach children to read |
wow!! who steals books!! i mean its just not right someone spends all their time on a book, and then doesn't get paid...not right!! |
Woah, that sucks. But the books were being recycled. They should have been given to children in hospital or libraries or something. |
WHAT!!!!!! how could someone steal something from JKR????? |
:o Thats horrible they were going to recylce them!:o I agree they should have sent them to libaries or something!!! And like BrigetteAlisia sadi how could they steel from JKR??Shame on you!*Points fingers at robbers* Nicola |
Whoa, when I first saw the title thread, I thought it was the books Jo was writing the Harry Potter books in. I'm relieved that wasn't the case, although I don't get why the books were to be recycled. I mean, couldn't the prices be reduced or have the extra ones sold to discount bookstores? |
How dare those stupid people! Too bad we can't search them out with magic and turn their butts in at the Ministry for punishment... :P I hope they are found and that the books aren't sold on the street. HP is too wonderful for street sales. |
Oh wow, I just about freaked out. At first all i read was 'J.K. Rowling’s books stolen' And i thought it ment the 7th one!. Anywho. Thats still not good! they should donate them not recycle them! |
Whhhoooooooo...When I first read "JKR books stollen" My heart stopped for a few seconds, I swear. That's too bad though!!! |
As far as im concerned J.K. Rowling is the best authors in the world and throwing away her books is horrible. |
Why didn't they DONATE? Not everyone's as fortunate as us, ya know *shakes fist* Lol. I dunno...sorry they stole them *grimace* |
Wow....the first thing that shocked me was that the books were being thrown out and then that they were stolen. I'm still having difficulty in determining the worst of two evil |
Why'd they get thrown away though? I agree with that they need to be donated or something. |
that's awful that the books were going to be recycled, why couldn't they have donated them? i treasure my HP books, they should never be thrown away like that . some kids want the books but don't have the money to buy them, so i think they should have given them to less forunate kids. but it is sad that they were stolen like that. |
I agree, they should've been donated. Stupid thieves. |
Shame...shame... |
That's really bad actually, I really hope the find the thieves. They should have been donated!! |
