J.K. Rowling via Pottermore finally revealed the name of the U.S. Wizarding School, which Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them characters Tina and Queenie Goldstein, and Percival Graves attended as youths. That can be seen here.

Ilvermorny, the name of the school, is located somewhere in the very north of the U.S., near the Canadian border, as shown on Pottermore's large interactive map during this weekend's A Celebration of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. Not much else about the school is known yet, but will revealed in due time.

The name of the school was revealed alongside three other top Wizarding Schools, which Rowling admitted were large and long-standing educational institutions approved by the International Confederation of Wizards. More on those other three, with very detailed descriptions from the Harry Potter author, will be up soon.

Cool! It looks closr to Minnesota, that's where I'm at. Ilvermorny. Soon you will fly off our tongues and be engraved in our cell phones dictionary as Hogwarts is.

It looks closer to the New England area to me...........possibly NY

Slightly sad it's not in the South, but it's still awesome to at least know a location and name for it!

On the world map featured on the site it actually looks more in Ontario or Quebec of Canada.

Can't wait until they reveal more of this.

I love this! Good to see other nations getting to know their own wizarding schools (including the other ones recently announced). I particularly love the sound of this one, actually sounds quite Scottish and rolls off my tongue quite easily!

i know its a stylyzed old world type map that is hardly accurate of true topography, but it seems to me like its sitting in the Great Lakes

so Ilvermorny is probably in the Ontario / Wisconsin / Michigan / Toronto / Quebec area?

any of those related to Native American anything? that was the last clue JKR said about the American Wizarding school.

For some reason Niagara Falls, or some other waterfall/body of water in the New England or Ontario/Quebec region, is screaming to me. The way the school is presented on the map is giving me that vibe. Or that water/steam/whatever is just there to throw us all off.

I think it makes the most sense for her to have the school somewhere over near the New England region. The Salem Witch Trials are the most famous thing related to magic over here (that I'm aware of, at least), so putting it around there seems logical.

The name is interesting, it does sound sort of Scottish..

so i quizzed Jesse since that map shows that she's from that neck of the woods, and we are going out on a limb and guessing that Ilvermorny is somewhere in or around the area of the Adirondacks

. so far it fits all of the clues JKR has released so far about the school.
