| | |  J.K. Rowling participates in charity storycard auction (UPDATED)
J.K. Rowling, and 13 other authors, have written on blank A5 sheets to create storycards, which will be auctioned in London, England to benefit English PEN and Dyslexia Action. The event, titled 'What's your Story?', sponsored by Waterstone's, will take place on June 10th. Quote:
``It's impossible to say how much this auction will raise,'' said Gerry Johnson, managing director of Waterstone's, in the statement. ``With the caliber of authors involved, then really the sky is the limit. Owning an original piece of work by a favorite writer is the ultimate limited edition for fans.''
The auction will take place at the Waterstone's in Piccadilly. The audience is restricted to invites-only. Quote:
``It's not going to be an anonymous process,'' said Jane Opoku, account director at the public-relations agency Colman Getty, which issued Waterstone's announcement. Opoku said the auction would be conducted by Sotheby's and that as yet no presale estimates were available.

However, the complete set will be reproduced as a book of postcards available to the common people later in the summer, proceeds also to charity. And much as it will be great to see the two beneficiaries getting a big windfall, I think the postcards collection has got to be the better deal.
