Harry Potter films to receive BAFTA Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts will be honouring the Harry Potter film series come Sunday, February 13 at the Orange British Academy Film Awards for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema. Author J.K. Rowling and producer David Heyman will be attending the BAFTA's especially to pick the prestigious accolades. | Past recipients of the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema include Pinewood & Shepperton Studios, and actor Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart in Chamber of Secrets).
Additionally, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I was nominated for two 2011 BAFTA awards, including best special visual effects and hair and makeup. Harry Potter actresses Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) and Miranda Richardson are also up for the best supporting actress for their roles in The King's Speech and Made in Dagenham, respectively.
