'Fantastic Beasts' Katherine Waterston, Carmen Ejogo in new 'Alien: Covenant' trailer
The first red-band trailer for the upcoming release of Alien: Covenant, the prequel to the iconic Alien movies and starring Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actresses Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein; playing lead character Daniels) and Carmen Ejogo (MACUSA President Seraphina Picquery) was released by 20th Century Fox right at midnight on Christmas day, and can be watched below. The sci-fi thriller hits theaters on May 19, 2017.
Please note that as a red band trailer, the feature does contain graphic violence and language.
Waterston teased a bit about her character Daniels, and how she lines up to Sigourney Weaver's famous heroine Ripley, to Empire magazine:
Quote:
Katherine Waterston: These are things you actively don’t think about until you get interview to remind you that you should be pis-ing yourself. Unlike Sigourney in Alien, [Daniels] is in a survival mode of sorts from the beginning. She’s not the captain, but she’s a natural leader so in times of crisis she falls into that position quite easily.”
