HP actress Emma Watson gave a speech yesterday at Oxford University and spoke about everything from playing Hermione to the importance of education in her life, falling down the Yule Ball steps and even how dentists would come on set to fill in gaps when she lost teeth.
On Hermione: Quote:
She bosses the guys around and makes having a “brain, not beauty, cool.” Although “slightly socially inept” Hermione is “not ashamed of herself.” Emma says that the saddest thing for a girl to do is dumb herself down for a guy. Hermione wouldn’t do it, so neither should anyone else.
On the HP directors: Quote:
"Alfonso Cuarón taught me about beauty," Mike Newell taught her that "acting just wasn't enough” and David Yates “taught me about finding truth.” After five films and many great directors and actors about her to inspire, she has finally “got to grips,” she said.
On the most magical moment of filming during Order of the Phoenix: Quote:
Luna Lovegood described the D.A. as “like having friends” and, for Emma, when the D.A. first got together and filmed their first scene it was “really cool”.

wow, she fell down the stairs entering the Yule Ball... but when she says she is a normal girl, she's lying, she's a star, that's not "normal" to any extent. she gets allowance like a normal teenager? well that may be but she's still not normal, she's a beautiful star who can afford practically anything, and gets dentists to fix her teeth after she falls down the stairs, i can't even afford braces, so she can't really talk about normality. that is funny tho, chipping teeth falling down stairs.
wow, that prolly sounds like i hate her, but i don't, she just can't really be talking about what's normal and what's not.... i mean, she's a beautiful superstar who is rich, even if her money is locked away, and so that is not normal.
