| | |  Emma Watson set to star in My Week with Marilyn?
It is being reported that Emma Watson's first possible acting foray after the completion of the Harry Potter series may be a small role in the upcoming production of My Week with Marilyn, which will chronicle the true-life rift between legends Sir Lawrence Olivier and Marylin Monroe on the set of their 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl.
Emma is said to play Lucy, a wardrobe assistant working behind the scenes during the making of The Prince And The Showgirl.
The film is set to begin production on October 4, 2010 at Pinewood Studios in England, and will star Emma's Harry Potter costars Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart) as Olivier, Zoe Wanamaker (Madam Hooch), and American actress Michelle Williams as Monroe. Other actors slated to take part in the film are Dame Judi Dench, Dominic Cooper, and Eddie Redmayne, whose character Colin Clark told the story of the tense relationship between the two legends.
We are currently confirming with Emma's reps about the truth to this story, and will update as soon as we receive more information. My Week with Marilyn is scheduled for a 2011 release.  | |

I hope this news is true! But Emma's reportedly being cast in every single upcoming film these days.
However, this film has an amazing cast and Emma actually has quite a few connections to a lot of these people. I hope this news is true. I would prefer to see her in a starring role, but this still sounds great.  | |

Eww, anything with Marilyn Monroe's name attached to it is a turn off for me.  However, if Emma is going to take a part in it, then maybe I'll force myself to watch it. A part of me is wishing that it isn't true, but I'd like to see her venture into other projects so maybe this will be a stepping stone.

With school, a small role would be the way to go right now. Anything w. Emma I will go and see  Would def love to see her do action/adventure or comedy. Really any genre Emma will rock Hope this news about the new film is true!

i dont think so...it will be great, anything she does is good but she is at school. the only break she has is thanksgiving which will be used for deathly hallows part one promoting i am guessing
i dont think we are going to see much of emma in a little bit, hopefully not too long, she only has christmas and summer holidays to work now, and that will last for the next 3 years, sooooo...  | |

Oh my gosh. That sounds like a fun movie!  At first, I was thinking... Emma is gorgeous, but she is definitely not a Marilyn look-a-like. Glad that she got another role... if the rumors are true.

well, i've seen photos of her marilyn monroe style and she looks really good for it. just can't say about the acting yet, cos i wasn't very much impress with her on ballet shoes. sorry just an opinion. i only think rupert grint the best of the three when it comes to acting

Ive heard she is really good in it however ive hesitated to watch Ballet Shoes because the plot doesnt interest me at all. Furthermore, from what i understand she is playing a character that is essentially trying to be an actress. I dont know, not much of a stretch in terms of pushing her acting to me. I still believe she will ultimately be the best of the 3 when all is said and done but until i see her in a more challenging role i wont really know for sure. I may still check out Ballet Shoes just because i am a fan of hers though. I just know i will be bored to tears with the plot line. lol

I'll be very happy for Emma if this is confirmed. What a great cast in this film! IMO, Judi Dench is the VERY BEST actor/actress on the planet! Kenneth Branagh and Zoe Wanamaker are two more of my favorites. Would love to see Emma in a scene with Dench. WOW, if I was Emma, I'd be excited out of my mind!
