Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and may be the first choice by Warner Bros to take on the role.
Another name thrown into the casting rumour game is actor Nicholas Hoult, one of the stars of the new X-Men films.
The reports state that Warner Bros. have chosen Redmayne, who won an Oscar last month for his portray of Dr. Stephen Hawking in
The Theory of Everything, as the frontrunner for the role of Scamander. Please note that this has not been confirmed by Warner Bros. yet.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them's first film, directed by Harry Potter's David Yates, begins production later this year.
