| | David Heyman reveals Deathly Hallows shooting schedule The Film Journal has an extensive profile on David Heyman, producer of all the Potter films to date, during which he talks about one of his favourite things about Half-Blood Prince; Quote:
“This one is much looser. We take the time to explore the characters. Of course, there are big action scenes, big set-pieces, but what I think people really love in Harry Potter films are the characters—Ron, Harry, Hermione—spending time with them. That’s where the real pleasure is, I think."
And discusses the Deathly Hallows split; Quote:
I’m not going to reveal where it is just yet, but there are a couple of places. I initially was not in favor of doing two films. Then I went through the book with Steve Kloves, looking at what you omit, always one of the challenges you make.
“In the seventh book, Harry is at the center of so much of it that, when we looked at what we would cut, it was impossible. There was almost nothing that we could comfortably cut, so it became a very clear decision that we had to make two films.
“Once we made that decision, the challenge is to find out where you cut it. I think we’ve made a really interesting choice. It’s acknowledging that actually this is one book, and there are two parts to the story, and I think it will be really exciting.
“Actually, there’s almost enough material in here to make three films, but I think that would have probably tipped it over the edge. The book is a very rich canvas.”
Finally he reveals that the team are about a quarter of the way through the film 7 shooting schedule; Quote:
“It hasn’t hit yet because it’s a 248-day schedule, and we’re on Day 67 or 68. There’s 180 to go—and then there’s a year of post—so the horizon looms much closer than ever before, but it’s not yet upon me. I suppose there’ll be mixed feelings. I’ve learned a huge amount. I continue to learn. The material continues to inspire and challenge. Being on this adventure, working on the Potters, has been the gift of all gifts.”

i think you might be right. that isn't that much more forward in the book than the Manor is, and it is where the second part of the story comes in. maybe it is gonna be split as hermione disaperates them away from the Lovegoods' House... (haha I dunno why i am convinced that it will be split during an apparation/disapparation - it just seems appropriate)

I'm glad they didn't make it into 3 films, the waiting for that would be torture!

I convinced it'll be after an apparation myself. I think "Malfoy Manor" will be in DH P2. I imagine that DH1 will probably lay all the ground work and DH2 will completely blow our minds.
I bought my July (14th) 15th midnight showing tickets last night!! I cannot wait!

| its time to choose between what is right and what is easy thats interesting!... so many places they could split the movie..i am sure it will be a cliff hanger in one way or another...i am not sure if i will want to know where it is if an interview actually does tell us where they are cutting it off...super stoked for HBP!!! |

Wow...I can't believe they still have 180 days of filming to go...that actually sounds kind of short. lol. I'm going to be soooo sad when Deathly Hallows comes out. It's going to be the end of an era basically. I mean the books and movies and the theme park will still live on forever, but it's still going to be sad.
Yay!! Only 27 DAYS TO GO TIL HBP!!!! |

I think the split will encourage the fans who only watch the movies to go out and purchase the book (or borrow from the library or a friend) and find out what happens next. The 7th book is so rich in detail, events, suspense, darkness, thrills, et cetera. If I was a fan who only watched the movies, I would definitely go out and buy it to find out what happens! It would be too much of a cliffhanger for me.

YAY!! I am so stoked for HBP and DH1/2!!!!! I think they should split it when Ron saves Harry when he comes back, but not tell us who saved him, just have Harry be saved and then cut out!! I am all about suspense though!! LOL Either way it would be AWESOME!!!! I cannot wait for the movies!!!! and yet... I am so sad bc it is the end.... :-(

omg! there's a long way more. Emma said that her schedule is half way through at this point in June, she will finish filming earlier due to her university term in Sept.
