David Heyman: Del Toro not in the running for Deathly Hallows Earlier we had told you about Guillermo Del Toro, a popular director, who was interested in possibly working on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. According to David Heyman, the Harry Potter series producer, Del Toro is not really in the running because "he's rather busy." Though a director still has not been named, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is set to release in movie theaters sometime in 2010. NOTE by Dumbledore: The reason Del Toro is busy until 2010 is because he has signed to direct the two Hobbit movies, produced by Peter Jackson. The first Hobbit movie is due out in 2009 and the second in 2010 with filming beginning late this year/early next year for both films. |
 You're killing me! I posted this about a half-second after you! I, for one, am kind of relieved because I don't think I would like him as the DH director. Shannon :hello: EDIT: First to post! |
I have to agree with r+h4ever1:yes: |

I'm glad. I don't want anyone who's friends with Cuaron to direct. Film 3 was too "arty-farty" if you get my meaning. If I have to see that bird flying into the tree again..... |
I agree. I do not like him as a director. I did not like Pan's Labyrinth. I think he would make DH too dark. |
Yeah, I agree with Shannon. sorry, Mr. Del Toro!xD |
How can you be busy!!!! |
I dunno if I'm glad or not XD Seriously, as far as the film is AWESOME as it should be, I'll be happy with the director :P |
Hmm, I agree. I'm rather pleased. XD |
Yeah, I think it's a good thing he isn't directing DH. |

It doesn't really bother me that he's not in the running. I'm just hoping that they manage to choose someone who is actually good for once. As long as Cuaron isn't chosen, I'm okay. ;) |
I don't know if I'm glad or not, honestyl I handn't consider him for a director, I just knew he wouldn't |
I still wish that all of them got together |
Good news about Del Toro, but my mind won't be at ease until someone puts out a restraining order on Alfonso Cuaron so that he can't come within 100 yards of any Potter script, set, or actor! :P *Tries to focus her Divination powers on Warner Bros* Joss Whedon....You WILL Hire Joss Whedon......or J Michael Stracyzinski..... |
2010?! That would be 2 years from now! DO I really have to wait that long! I can't wait to see the final movie |
Steven Speilberg still in the running yay!!! |
wow i hope he winds up not being busy later |
:hermy: tht's not good news...i think Toro's been offered a huge sum and also got approached by hobbit producers sooner than DH folks..also thr's a clash of titans in 2010-Hobit folks vs Potter fans... DH is undec. till now...i sure hope tht dH will beat hobbit!in any way possible.:sunny: |
Oh... well... I hope they'll choose a good one to direct the 7th film! |
yea if they dont choose a good one that would be a big problem i hope they choose a good dericter for the 6th harry potter movie:harry: |
Oh... "/ I would've thought he'd be a good director for Deathly Hallows. Hmm.. Good luck with The Hobbit though. :) |
