"Draco, why aren't you looking at me?" Pansy was starting to get annoyed. She followed Draco's gaze to....was that the mudblood? "I can't believe you!" Pansy roared, and shot out of her seat.

"What?" Draco was startled out of his gaze. "What are you talking about Pansy?"

"You know damn well Draco Malfoy! Why are you looking at the mudblood?" The glared at him in realization. "You love her, don't you?"

"Pansy..." Draco started, but Pansy shut him off.

"I'll make it so you never see her pretty face again!" Pansy started towards Hermione, a crazed grin on her face.

Tomaso and Mark found seats at the bar while Hermione and Ginny went to freshen up. Well, Ginny anyway.

"So, what do you think of yours?" Tomaso asked Mark. "Isn't she nice? I told you you'd like her!" Mark shrugged.

"She's nice....but she always looks preoccupied. Like there's something on her mind. That can drive a guy crazy, capisci?"

"Si. I get it all the time. But trust me, Hermione's nice. You'll like her. Especially if she's anything like Virginia." Ginny and Hermione came back.

"Miss me?" Ginny asked as she gave Tomaso a kiss on the cheek.

"You bet." Tomaso offered Ginny the chair, and she slid in. Mark did the same for Hermione, and sat down next to her.

Draco and Pansy took a table near Hermione's end of the bar, so Draco could watch her and not look suspicious. Unfortunately, it wasn't working.

"Draco, you're staring out into space again." Pansy complained again. Draco sighed.

"Pansy...I can't wait on you hand and foot. You know that."

"But Draco..."

"Pansy, just pick what you want to eat, ok?" Draco tried to keep a pleasant face on, lest Hermione see him with Pansy. For some reason, he felt he was cheating on her...of course, they weren't technically going out.

As the evening went on, Hermione felt she was being watched. She also felt dirty, like she was being sneaky, or doing something underhanded. Why was that?

"Hermione, are you alright?" Mark asked her, jerking her out of her thoughts.

"Oh, of course...I just have the feeling...did you ever get the feeling that you're being watched?" Hermione asked Mark, desperate to take her mind off it.

"Yes. Being a good looking Italian, I get stares all the time. It just means your a good looking Britain." Mark assured her, but Hermione still felt unsettled.

Back at Draco's table, Pansy was getting more and more irritated. She had no idea who Draco was staring at, but she knew one thing: It wasn't her!

"Draco, why aren't you looking at me?" Pansy was really annoyed now. She followed Draco's gaze to....was that the mudblood? That...creature held Draco's attention! Pansy couldn't believe it.

"I can't believe you!" Pansy roared, and shot out of her seat.

"What?" Draco was startled out of his gaze. "What are you talking about Pansy?"

"You know damn well Draco Malfoy! Why are you looking at the mudblood?" The glared at him in realization. "You love her, don't you?"

"Pansy..." Draco started, but Pansy shut him off.

"She's the one you've been seeing, isn't she?" Pansy's voice was rising in decibells, and Draco was looking embarassed. People started to stare at them. Hermione remained focused on her date, much to Draco's relief.

"Pansy...baby, can you calm down-"

"NO! This is....I've got a better idea Dracikins." Pansy said, a devilish, crazed smile on her face. "I'll make it so you never see her pretty face again!" Pansy started towards Hermione, the crazed grin on her face matching the one in her eyes.

Hermione didn't hear or see Pansy until she was two inches behind her. Pansy ripped Hermione from her chair and flung her to the ground. Hermione tried to pulled out her wand, but when she hit the floor, her wand flew out of her hand.

"Now...you filthy mudblood....you stay away from Draco!" Pansy was insane now, and began to rip and Hermione's hair. Hermione cried out and clawed at Pansy, desperately trying to pull her off.

Then, Pansy's weight was taken off her as Mark and Tomaso held Pansy. Ginny rushed to Hermione side.

"Hermione! Are you ok? You b*tch!" Ginny addressed Pansy. "Why did you do that? We're not in schol anymore. Let it go already!"

"She's dating my boyfriend! Let me kill her!" Pansy struggled, and almost got away. Mark held on, but looked at Hermione.

"E vero, Hermione?" He asked slowly. Hermione gasped, then thought.

"No...we never had an official date. We just...hung out sometimes-"

"Pure b*llsh*t!" Pansy screamed. "He's been out with you every other night this week!"

Draco ran over and took Pansy from Mark.

"Hands off buddy."

"Are you her boyfriend?" Mark asked him. Draco nodded. "Then...you have been seeing Hermione, si?"

"As friends only sir." Draco thought it best to be polite. Mark 's face went red.

"Then...you're mine!" Mark roared as he leapt onto Draco, punching and kicking him. Hermione shrieked.

"DRACO!" Pansy, unattened, wrenched herself free of Tomaso and crashed into Hermione. It soon became a full-out brawl.

But how did it end?

Ginny and Tomaso were waiting outside Mark's room nervously. Draco and Hermione were also in there. Tomaso reached out and grasped Ginny's hand.

"Will they be ok?" Ginny asked.

"I hope so, mi amore. They're all very mature....well, they're adults. They can sort it out."

Ginny put her head on his shoulder, and Tomaso stroked her hair.

Hermione refused to look at the boys. They were just staring at her, waiting.

"What do you want from me?" Hermione finally blurted out. Mark huffed, and Draco rolled his eyes.

"Well, Hermione, you kinda led us both on."

"How! I didn't do anything! You were the one with the girlfriend, not me!" Hermione accused Draco. Mark glared at him.

"What do you want?" Draco wasn't feeling to kindly to the Italian.

"You led this poor, beautiful girl on, did all kinds of wonderful things to her, from what I heard, and you dare cheat on her? If anyone was leading someone on, it was you, mi amico."

"I'm not your friend, and who asked you?" Draco snapped. "You want some more injuries?"

"No, and shut your mouth. I want to listen to Hermione." Mark turned to Hermione. "Please, dear, tell me what was really going on?"

"Draco....and I had a relationship during school, but we...I broke it off. I didn't think it would work. So I moved to Italy with Ginny. To try to forget him. But he was there, and we began to see each other...then Ginny told me I had a blind date, with you Mark."

Mark nodded. Draco grunted.

"And I had a wonderful time. But..."

"Now you're confused?" Mark supplied, and Hermione nodded. "Well, can I make a suggestion?"

"Of course." Even Draco was curious. He looked up at Hermione, then Mark.

"Don't stay with Draco. Since he didn't tell you about this girl, he might not always tell truth. I say this for you, Hermione, e non per Draco, capisci?"

Hermione nodded. Draco couldn't speak, he was so mad.

"N-now just you wait!" Draco spluttered. "You can't...you can't just-"

"I just did. Hermione, will you be my girlfriend?" Mark asked, and even got off the bed and on one knee. Hermione looked at Draco.

Draco saw the hurt in her eyes. He saw the bruises left by Pansy's attack. He also saw her decision.

"Yes Mark...of course."

"Andiamo." Mark led his new girlfriend out the door, leaving Draco in the room.

Ginny watched Hermione and Mark come out of the room, holding hands. Tomaso gave Mark a high five. Ginny went to Hermione. She noticed the look in her eyes.

"Bravissima!" Tomaso said to Mark. They started to talk in Italian. Ginny took Hermione's hand.

"Is Draco ok?"

Hermione looked back at the room, and she found she couldn't see him.

"I....I don't know."

OK, it's kinda short compared to the last chapter, but the next one will be long, I promise, ok?

Draco watched Hermione leave with the Italian. He stared at the wall, unable to make it register in his mind. Hermione....gone? Impossible. He loved her. How could she leave him? How could she choose....that.....that Italian over him?

Moving like a machine, he got up and climbed out the window. He fell softly on the soft grass and walked away from the muggle hospital.

He didn't know where he was going, only that it had to be better than what he was leaving behind. People and buildings passed him by without a word. Some of the townsfolk raised their hands in greeting, for Draco was well known throughout their little town. He just kept walking.

Soon, the warm air gave way to a small nip of a chill in the air. The nip turned to a bite, and soon, it was snowing. He shivered, and wished he had brought a coat. He tried to rub his hands together for warmth. Soon, he grew weary. The light was growing dimmer. Draco needed a place to stay. He thought of his little apartment. Never mind that. There was nothing for him back there.

The cold grew. The snow fell thicker as Draco made his way up the mountian. The mountians that isolated Italy from the rest of Europe. Draco soon couldn't feel his hands, then his feet. The numbness was spreading from the tips of his body into his heart. Draco soon couldn't keep warm. He collapsed on the snow, tired, numb, and indifferent.

Pansy was released by the local authorities after a briefing and a stern talking to. The force in the town wasn't large, so an assault was something delt with and over with. Pansy made her way home, tired and hungry. She hoped Draco prepared something.

She opened the door to their apartment to the smell of her perfume. And nothing else. None of Draco's colongue, so he wasn't home. Pansy searched the place with no luck. Where was Draco?

The mudblood. He must be with her! That b*st*rd! Pansy began to growl. After all she'd done for him! He was still crawling after her! Enraged, she stomped over to the hospital. Suddenly, she stopped and dove into the bushes. Draco was...climbing out the window? She wanted to call out to him, but the look in his eyes stopped her.

"She must have dumped him..." Pansy muttered to herself. "Well, good for him. Let him feel-"

Draco walked right by her bush without a word. Pansy saw the glazed look in his eyes and became frightened. What was the matter with him? Pansy got out and headed into the hospital to get an explaination.

Ginny, Hermione, Tomaso and Mark were leaving the hospital when Pansy Parkinson came running up to them.

"What did you do to Draco?" She demanded. Ginny went in front of Hermione protectively, and Pansy dismissed it. "Never mind that now, what have you done to him?"

"We didn't do anything," Tomaso began. "He's still inside."

"No he's not! I just saw him walk by!" Pansy declared.

"Then he's that way." Mark pointed, and took Hermione by the hand. "C'mon Hermione, let's-"

"STOP IT! I TELL YOU HE'S NOT RIGHT!" Pansy ripped Hermione's hand out of Marks and stared into her eyes. "He wasn't right, and I think you know it."

"I...I know...but he'll be fine, he'll-" Hermione stammered, but Pansy was crying now.

"Did anyone see that haunted stare in his eyes? The emptyness? The hollowness? I didn't think so. He's run away, I'm sure of it." Hermione began to feel sorry for her. Hermione put her arm around Pansy. Pansy made to throw her off, but then sobbed into Hermione's shoulder.

"Pansy...which way was he headed?"

"T-towards the eh-edge of town. Up North."

"North...Mark, what's North of Italy?"

"The Alps, the the rest of Europe." Mark supplied. Hermione gasped.

"Mark...he'll die up there! We have to stop him! We have to bring him back before it's too late!" Hermione looked at Mark desperately.

"Before Draco...collapses." Pansy whispered.

Oh no! What shall happen next?
