This is a bit unorthodox but, this thread is dedicated to role playing random "What if?" scenarios with various canon and non-canon (established made-up) characters. This idea grew out of Erin and Kris' boredom one night when they found themselves unable to post in any of their 3-4 established Role Plays. The intended purpose is not to gather people but, rather, to play at the spur of the moment. I'd almost like to think of these rather like the EEFFDs where we challenge ourselves to RP a random scene in a matter of a night or so. Perhaps we'll come up with something we'd like to explore further in another RP but, for now...

Sighing loudly, "I know, Andi. I know. But...," she stopped her sentence short. Andi was absolutely right. "Come on..." Joey linked arms with her, and went back into class. Snape was writing on the board, so they made it back in almost unnoticed. Joey took her seat, but turned around immediately to stare at Orion. She didn't say a word, or crack a smirk, or even a glare. Her deep eyes, just bore into him.

Malfoy's smirk faltered when Potter's stare caught him, but he quickly put it back into place. She could try to intimidate him, but she would not be successful. He continued to return her gaze until finally Snape allowed them to begin their potion. He rose as if to gather supplies and passed close to Potter's lab table. "Little Potter doesn't like frogs?" His face was a mask of mock concern and he ignored the snort of whichever Winston girl was sitting by Potter today.

Joey mocked him right back, mouthing his words back to him and flipping her hair the way he did so very often. She waited until he was on his way back from the supply table, looking down at her notes inconspiculously. But, as he neared her she stood and threw her shoulder in him, making it look a total accident. Joey gasped the most believable gasp of shock she could muster, and to add effect covered her mouth with both her hands. But, one look at her eyes, gave her away. No Malfoy would one-up a Potter.

Orion turned with the supplies, sharing an amused look with MacNair at the back of the room. Suddenly, there was a shoulder in his side, and the ingredients were all over the floor. His side ached and he put his hand there, turning on the Potter wench. "You clumsy little fool! I've got snail slime on my robes." His loud outrage turned to a low whisper. "You'll pay for that one, Potter."

"Oooo, I'm scared," she said maliciously back to him. The Gryffindor in her just wouldn't let her sit back down. It wouldn't let her just shut up. It wouldn't let her just let it go. "Bring... it... on..., Orion." She reached up and flicked the slug off. "Little Malfoy doesn't like slugs?"

"I suggest you keep your hands to yourself," Orion brushed her hand away from his robes. "Don't touch me or my robes, Potter. And I really don't mind slugs, they serve their purpose." He nodded to the Winston girl sitting behind Potter. "You keep strange company yourself. About as fascinating and attractive as mine. Pity you can't use her for a Potion." He quirked her eyebrow at her to see if she'd react to his insult of her friend before turning his back and heading to his seat.

"Whatever, Malfoy," she said, her eyes narrowed. Before taking her seat she looked appologetically over to the twins. They weren't bad company, and no one insulted her friends and got away with it. It took all she had not to jump on his back and beat his head onto the rock floor, but the idea of every eye on her put her back in her seat. Snape was perusing the other tables, just long enough for Jo to turn one last time and give Orion a nice jester with her finger.

Orion heaved a great sigh and headed back towards his seat. "You disappoint me, Potter. I'd have thought you'd inherit a bit of that recklessness your father is so famous for, or even a bit of that devil-may-care that seems to drive your brother. You're a Hufflepuff pretending to be a lion, and... frankly, I'm bored."

new scene:

Professor McGonagall slipped into the staff room, certain that none of the students had spotted her. The room was dark, lighted only by the small fire left in the grate. Was he here, yet? She lowered her glasses and looked over the tops, trying to see in this riddiculously dim light. She would have lit the lamps but, that just didn't seem appropriate for this meeting. Unable to see anyone, Minerva concluded that he had not arrived yet. She had just settled herself into a cozy armchair when a shadow in one of the corners moved and startled her.

Remus Lupin stepped from the shadows so that the firelight could pick up his face and dark robes. He hadn't meant to startle McGonagall, but she was sitting in the dark. "I have a message from Dumbledore," he offered to the acting Headmistress. Dumbledore was out of Hogwarts once again, and Remus had taken it upon himself to act as messenger when it called for it. He still had relatively easy access to the school via the Whomping Willow and the Marauder's Map Harry had lent him.

McGonagall stood up when Lupin moved into the dim light and spoke of a message from Dumbledore. "What is it, Remus? Is Albus well?" she asked, anxious for news about her dear friend. He'd been away for nearly a month without a word. The Ministry had reinstated him last term but, was still wary and having him disappear in the middle of the term was not going over well, depite the rumors of Voldemort's movements.

"He has a bit of a cold, but he appreciates the tartan socks you sent him," Remus grinned at those words. Dumbledore always had a sense of humor about such things. "He wants you to know that you are doing well and he plans to return by the end of next month. In the meantime, he wants you to know that he's going to have some members of the Order patrolling the grounds. He wants you to notify Hagrid that they will be there and to call off Filch."

"Well, I certainly hope he takes care of himself and doesn't overdo it," McGonagall said, her face taking on a motherly concerned look. "I'll be certain to tell Hagrid and Filch. And how are you doing, Remus?"

Jake had just finished warming the two cups of hot cocoa, he walked from the kitchen through the doorway but stopped. She was seated on the oversized couch in front of the roaring fire. He still couldn't believe that they'd been married for several months. So much had happened, they both were sleceted to play for the Hampshire Hornets, they found the perfect home near a huge lake, everything was perfect. And now it was just the two of them. They occassionally heard from Harry and Mattie, even Dumbledore paid them a visit recently. She was more beautiful than ever. She had her hair down and was wearing her sleeping gown. There were more the one night were the two of them never made it to the bedroom. They would just curl up on the couch and fall asleep right there. Tonight looked like it may happen again.......

"Here dear," he said as he walked forward and handed her her cup."

Wyn accepted the hot cocoa and set it on the table, reaching up to take Jay's as well. She pulled him down next to her on the couch. "I hope Day enjoys her stay with Mattie and Harry. It's nice to have the house to ourselves for a little while." She snuggled against him before handing him his hot chocolate. "We're going to end up sleeping on the couch again, aren't we?"

"Is that a problem?", Jay asked as he let Wyn snuggle deep into his chest, wrapping his arms around her. "Should she be traveling so soon to having a baby," he asked as he sipped.

Wyn lay her head on his shoulder, her black hair spread across his chest and shoulder. "It was Dumbledore's suggestion, so he must know best. She's been feeling a bit cramped by us, I think." Wyn blew on her cocoa before she smiled up at Jay. "I'm glad to have you all to myself. We haven't been really alone since... ever. I kind of think I expected that after Hogwarts I'd finally get to be with you. I love Day but..." She sighed a little.

Jake began rubbing Wyn's shoulders, she had complained that they hurt after their last match. "Well I love Day too, but it is gonna be interesting having a little one running around here, you know with the late night feedings, the diapers.....all that baby stuff."

Wyn groaned as Jay worked out a knot in her right shoulder. "I think they're weighting my bat, Jay. I really think they are. My arms have never hurt like this. I was positively sluggish in our last game." She leaned back against him and looked up at him backwards. Kissing his chin lightly, she laughed and said, "If you keep this up, I'm not going to want to sleep on the couch."

Jake smiled at his wife's mention of being so tired lately....he'd noticed it too. He raised his eyebrows a bit at her comment, "Oh really....and what do you think you'll be doing instead lady," he asked.

Wyn put down her cup and wriggled around in Jay's embrace. She unbuttoned the top two buttons of her nightgown and laughed. "I'm going to be... tickling you." She placed her hands on his chest and leaned against him again.

Jay felt the weight of Wyn's pressure and let her push him down playfully. He lay on his back and let his hands explore Wyn's back. He carressed her back slowly watching a smile rise on her face. "And where are you going to be tickling me?" he asked.

Wyn grinned and untucked his shirt as best she could before giving him a thoughtful look. "On the couch silly. I wouldn't make you move just to tickle you." She wiggled a bit and his hands slid from her back around to her stomach. "Have I told you recently how much I love you?"

Jay laughed, "I guess I set myself up for that one," he said knowing that Wyn kew he meant what part of his body was she gonna tickle. He felt his shirt being pulled out so as she lifted herself up a bit, he took the opportunity to slide his hands around from her back to the front. He let them linger there, teasing her a bit before pulling them out of her gown and lifting his own shirt up over his head.

Wyn propped her head on her hand and propped her elbow on Jay's chest. "You know, I think this is what I thought our life would be like. Just us. Together. Free to... tickle each other whenever and wherever we want." She grinned as she said that before wriggling out of the nightshirt.
