25.Sorting Hat

"Slytherin," shouted the sorting hat as soon as it touched Bellatrix Blacks head. She proudly walked over to the Slytherin house table and watched everyone else get sorted.

"Lestrange Rodolphus," called Professor McGonagall. Bellatrix watched as he also was sorted into Slytherin. He walked over to the Slytherin table and sat down beside her.

"Rodolphus Lestrange," he said to Bellatrix, holding out his hand. Bellatrix gave him a very rare smile and shook his hand.

"Bellatrix Black," she told him.

"Pleased to meet you," he told her warmly. Bellatrix said nothing, but began to wonder if he was a pureblood.

35.Pureblood

Rodolphus Lestrange walked into the Great Hall and saw Bellatrix standing on her own .Walking over to her, he noticed that she did seem lonely.
"Are you ok?"Rodolphus asked her.
"Yes,why?",Bellatrix said,sounding annoyed.
"Well, you're just standing here on you're own. Havn't you got anyone to talk to?"he said,standing beside.
Bellatrix looked angry."Why would I want to talk to anyone?"Bellatrix yelled at him,"my mother warned me about only speaking to purebloods and there are hardly any at Hogwarts.
"I'm a pureblood, so you can speak to me",Rodolphus told her.
Giving him a very cold look, Bellatrix rushed towards the Dungeons.

46. Dungeon

The dungeons were dark and gloomy.Nobody liked going down there and thats why Bellatrix Black liked it there.She found herself in the dungeons now, leaning against a cold, stone wall as she listened to the steady sound of dripping water coming from somewhere.
This is where Bellatrix usually went when she was angry,upset or wanted to be on her own.Soon,however,she began to hear loud footsteps and a voice called "Bellatrix"
Recognising that the voice belonged to Rodolphus Lestrange, Bellatrix began to walk to the Slytherin common room, where she hoped he wouldn't find her.

8.Potions

It was Bellatrix's and Rodolphus's first potions lesson.While Bellatrix was doing very well, Rodolphus wasn't having much luck.
They were making a boil cure potion, which was supposed to be very simple. Bellatrix was already adding the porcupine quills.Rodolphus was still crushing his snake fans.Quickly,he threw the crushed snake fangs into the cauldron,followed by the horned slugs and finally the porcupine quills.
He heard a hissing noise and clouds of green smoke came from his cauldron.People around him began coughing and as the smoke cleared,he saw a smiling Bellatrix standing by the furious potions teacher.

89.Past

Rodolphus was walking to his next class when he saw Bellatrix in front of him. Not wanting to speak to her, he stopped and pretended to search his bag for something.
"What you looking for?"came a horrible, falsely sweet voice from beside him.
"Nothing", Rodolphus muttered to Bellatrix and began to walk quickly.
"Aww, are you not speaking to me?"she said to him again in that sickening sweet voice.
"Why are you speaking to me Bella?"he asked her.
"My name isn't Bella",she snarled at him,"I just thought we could put the past behind us and become friends."
"Yeah,right",Rodolphus said to Bellatrix .

2.Muggle Studies

Bellatrix was sitting in Muggle Studies, resting her head on her hands and not listening to what the Professor was saying.
Rodolphus was sitting behind her and couldn't resist trying to get her angry. When the Professor turned his back to the class, Rodolphus scrunched up a piece of parchment and threw it at Bellatrix's head. She turned round and glared at him, but never sayed anything.
When she turned round, Rodolphus threw another bit of parchment at her.
Bellatrix lost her patience this time. "IF YOU DO THAT AGAIN-!"she began to scream at him.
"Miss Black!"shouted the Professor,"5 points from Slytherin!"

53.Chase

Bellatrix was furious with Rodolphus as she left Muggle Studies.She saw him just ahead of her and rushed towards him, her wand out.
Bellatrix saw Rodolphus turn around and gave a cackle of laughter when he began to run.
She chased after him, pushing other students roughly out of her way. As Bellatrix turned the corridor, she saw Rodolphus enter the boys bathroom. Laughing again, Bellatrix waited outside.
Inside the boys bathroom, Rodolphus was listening at the door. It sounded as though she had lost him.He waited 5 minutes just in case Bellatrix was their, before opening the door.

61.Kiss

Rodolphus walked out of the boys bathroom, turned the corner and walked straight into Bellatrix.
Before he could say anything, she started shouting at him.
"Did you find that funny!"Bellatrix shouted at him.
"No, I-",Rodolphus started.
Bellatrix kept shouting at him for 10 minutes and Rodolphus knew he had to do something to make her shut up. Without thinking, Rodolphus grabbed Bellatrix and kissed her before walking quickly along the corridor. He wasn't about to stay around and here what Bellatrix was about to say. Bellatrix, meanwhile, was staring at the wall in front of her, in shock.

66.Pace

Bellatrix paced the Slytherin common room, thinking about what had happened earlier. Everyone was at dinner just now, so the common room was empty. This gave Bellatrix the perfect chance to think things over.
"What was he thinking?"Bellatrix thought,"I hate Rodolphus, but why I'm I so bothered that he kissed me?"
Bellatrix was very confused, so she ignored how hungry she was, and went up to the girls dormitory.
Rodolphus made his way slowly back from dinner, hoping that he wouldn't see Bellatrix. Walking into the common room, he went into the boys dormitory, dreading seeing Bellatrix tomorrow.

78.Authors Choice-Lie

Rodolphus was in the Great hall when Bellatrix sat down beside him. She said nothing, but began getting a bowl of cereal for herself.
Rodolphus decided the best thing to do was lie."Bellatrix, about yesterday, I didn't mean to kiss you-"He said quickly.
"What?"Bellatrix said also not telling the truth,"Oh, I forgot all about that."
"Did you?"
Bellatrix nodded.
"Oh, that fine then.Just didn't want you getting the wrong idea,"Rodolphus told her.
"Don't worry, I didn't,"Bellatrix said quickly.
With that, Bellatrix and Rodolphus ate their breakfast in silence both feeling slightly hurt.

59.Ignore

Rodolphus hadn't spoke to Bellatrix for a week now.He had a feeling that she was ignoring him.
Rodolphus seen her walking down a corridor and he walked over to her.
"Hey, Bella,"Rodolphus said to her as she walked past.
"It's Bellatrix,"she corrected him as she began to walk quicker.
"Whats wrong with you?" he asked her as he rushed to catch up with her.
Bellatrix didn't reply, but continued rushing down the corridor as though she was in a walking race.
Rodolphus slowed down and let her go in front of him, feeling very confused about Bellatrix's constant mood changes.

69.Slap

Bellatrix stormed into the Slytherin common room, fed up with Rodolphus."He kisses me, than sayes it ment nothing,"she thought angrily to herself.
Rodolphus entered the common room.
"Is it because I kissed you?"he asked curiously.
"No, of coarse not".
"I think it is", Rodolphus said simply.
"Do you honestly think I'd actually want to kiss you?"
"Yes,"he told her honestly.
"Well, you're wrong then!"she shrieked, her voice beginning to rise.
"I don't think I am."
SLAP!
Bellatrix had slapped Rodolphus right across his face and without a backword glance, stormed up to the girls dormitory.

73.Warn

Rodolphus was looking out at the lake. Turning round, he saw Bellatrix. Rodolphus turned back round, hoping that she wouldn't come and speak to him.Luckily for Rodolphus, Bellatrix walked over to a tree and sat underneath.
Rodolphus was in a very bad mood today and made the bad move of confronting her.
She stood up and tried to hurry back up to the castle. Rodolphus managed to stop her. "See how you think you're familys so brilliant ", he said,smirking"Well, at least noone in my family have been sorted into Gryffindor!"
"I'm warning you", Bellatrix told him dangerously,"Say that again and I will curse you into a million pieces.

32.Common Room

While Bellatrix went to the dungeons when she wanted to be on her own, Rodolphus nearly always went to the Slytherin common room.
There, he got on with some of his homework in peace, but the main reason was that their was no Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs or Ravenclaws to bother him. It was very late at night and Rodolphus was sitting at his usual chair beside the fire. He was trying to finish his already late Transfiguration homework, but after four hours he gave up and began to watch the last few flames of the common room fire slowly disappear.

3. Transfiguration

"Now as you all know,"Professor Mcgonagall called,"The homework is due in today. I will come round the desks and collect it while you copy that down from the bourd. Any one who has made the foolish decision not to do their homework will have a detention."
Bellatrix put her homework on the desk. She had actually stolen it from a Gryffindor and changed the writing into hers.
Rodolphus watched a Gryffindor boy get shouted at for not doing his homework.
"No homework aswell, Mr Lestrange!"Mcgonagall said,"Detention on Thursday night!"Rodolphus looked furious as Bellatrix practically beamed at Professor Mcgonagall.

83. Fearful

Bellatrix watched as a small Ravenclaw girl walked past, casting Bellatrix a fearful look. She loved the impact she had on fellow students in her year. Bellatrix thought it was something to be proud of, having people be too scared to even talk to her. Sometimes, she wished that Rodolphus would be far too fearful to speak to her, but no, he remained as big-headed as usual. Sighing, Bella stood up from her seat by the lake and slowly walked back to the castle, wondering if her life would be any different if she had been sorted into Hufflepuff.

77.Cheerful

Everytime Rodolphus had spotted Bellatrix in the corridors or elsewhere in the castle, she was in a very cheerfull mood. This made Rodolophus even more determined to stay away from her, as if Bellatrix was in a good mood, it usually ment that she was up to something. Sure enough, Bellatrix started talking loudly to people about some"special mission" everytime Rodolphus passed. Soon, he was getting very annoyed about Bellatrix's constant talk of this special mission and decided to ask her about it, but then, he noticed that Bellatrix had disappeared. She wasn't in any of the classes, in the corridors or not even in the common room at night

100. Homework

The Hogwarts teachers were definately beginning to give the students more homework.While Rodolphus was determined not to get any more detentions from Professor Mcgonagal, Bellatrix appeared not to care about getting her homework done on time. It wasn't as though she did do her homework before, as she usually stole the answers for the homework from other students, but these days, Bellatrix wasn't even making the slightest effort. Bellatrix had already managed to get a detention every Saterday and Sunday night of that month for not appearing at any of her classes for a week and hiding up in the Girls' dormitory.

1. Herbology

Bellatrix grabbed the top of the mandrake and pulled it up quickly. Even through the horrible pink earmuffs she had over her ears, Bellatrix could still hear the horrible high pitched noise coming from the mandrakes. She shouved the mandrake into it's new pot and threw a massive lump of soil over its head.Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Rodolphus smirk as he re-potted his 6th mandrake. Making sure Professor Sprout never noticed her, Bellatrix took her wand out from and robe pocket and whispered,"Reducto!"
The empty pots around Rodolphus smashed, covering most of the greenhouse floor with dust.

4.Ancient Ruins

Ancient Ruins, Rodolphus found, was yet another subject which he wasn't very good at. He found himself gazing into space and hardly taken in a word what the professor was telling the class. He hadn't ate any breakfast that morning and was suddenly aware of his head beginning to ache. Sighing, Rodolphus tried to shake of the feeling, but to no success.All he wanted to do was to be back in his dormitory, anywhere apart from this stuffy, hot classroom.Rodolphus felt as though the whole room was spinning and with that strange feeling he fell to the floor.

79. Authors Choice-Hospital Wing

Rodolphus woke up one hour later and felt as though he was drowning in a swimming pool. He quickly jumped out of his bed and the first thing he noticed was that he was in the Hospital Wing. The second thing he noticed was that Bellatrix had been pouring a large jug of water over him.
"What are you doing!"he asked her as he found another bed to sit in as his was full of water.
"Madam Pomfrey told me that sprinkling some water on you're head might wake you up."Bellatrix said defensively.
Rodolphus sighed and closed his eyes.

92. Chocolate

Bellatrix walked back to the empty Slytherin common room, carring quite a big amount of Chocolate. She had stolen the chocolate from a girl who was sleeping at the Hospital Wing. Madam Pomfrey had told her that the girl would probably be in the Hospital Wing for at least two days, so Bellatrix had left her a chocolate frog and took the rest. She put the chocolate on the table and only went to the Girls dormitory for a couple of minutes to put away her school bag.
When she returned, not a single chocolate was left on the table.

6. Divination

Bellatrix wasn't exactly pleased when the Divination Professor asked she and Rodolphus to work together one lesson, however none of the class hardly ever worked. Though this normally got the whole class, particulary Slytherins, into trouble, it was very hard to try and see shapes in a foggy crystal ball or in a teacup. One lesson though, had to have been both Bellatrix and Rodolphus's worst. The Professor had came over to Bellatrix and Rodolphus's table and told them that since they were working so well together, they would be working with each other for the rest of the year.

7. Care of Magical Creatures

"Aaaaaarrrgh!"Bellatrix screamed as the Blast-Ended Skrewt charged at her. She had managed to burn herself a grand total of three times and had already lost her patience. Giving up on the horrible creatures, Bellatrix ignored the Professors calls and staulked of away from the class. She sat down on the grass and was suddenly aware that someone had followed her. It was Rodolphus.
"What do you want,"she asked him.
"Alway's on the defensive,"Rodolphus said to her, sitting down and handing her a chocolate frog.
The pair of them sat in silence for the remaining time which was left, before walking back to the castle.

80. authors choice-Christmas

Christmas had arrived quickly at Hogwarts. Instead of finishing of homework, most of the students were now outside in the snow.
One student not feeling very festive was Bellatrix Black, who now was spending most of the time in the empty and cold Slytherin common room. What made things worse for her was that this year, she was not going to be going home for christmas.
Yet another thing which made her feel strangly angry was that Rodolphus was allowed to go home,but had told her he would send her a christmas present by owl,which she had not recieved.

24. House elf

Socks was worried. Very worried. He had recieved a christmas present to give to his mistress, Bellatrix, just days before the Christmas holidays. Rodolphus had rather unkindly told him to deliver the present to Bella on christmas day, but being a very busy house elf, Socks had forgotten and had left the present somewhere. With no idea where the present was and Rodolphus being due back at Hogwarts any day now, poor Socks had to decide if he should tell Bellatrix about the mistake before Rodolphus could. The house elf sat alone in the Hogwarts kitchens, sobbing quietly.

90.Present
"Did you like the present I bought you?" Rodolphus asked Bellatrix as he caught up with her.
Bellatrix never answered, but continued walking. She wasn't bothered about the whole present issue. If he never bought her a present for christmas, why should she care. She hated Rodolphus.
"Whats wrong now?"Rodolphus asked with a sigh.
"Not even a card, never mind a stupid present,"Bellatrix muttered darkly.
"What? Didn't you get the present? I asked that ugly house-elf of yours to give it to you?"Rodolphus said, clearly taken aback.
"Of coarse you did," Bellatrix said sarcastically, raising her thin eyebrows and entering the Charms classroom.

10. Arithmancy

"Class," the Arithmancy Professor called, "Professor Mcgonagall would like to talk to you."
The class fell silent as Mcgonagall walked into the classroom. "Now class, this summer we have decided to hold a yule ball. It will be necessary for you to each find yourselfs a dancing partner." She sighed as the girls started talking to each other in a burst of excitment and the boys stared at her in shear horror.
"I'm not going", Bella announced in a loud voice. Rodolphus felt his heart sink at her words, but chose to ignore it. There were plenty of good-looking girls who would just love to go with him.

51. act

Bellatrix was trying to appear happy with herself. After announcing she was not attending the ball, she had quickly changed her mind after news that Rodolphus was taking pretty Darlina Ocean to the ball spread around Hogwarts.
Trying to act like she couldn't care, Bella had proceeded to accept an invitation from Lucius Malfoy. Her younger sister Narcissa was not best pleased, but Bellatrix hadn't a care in the world. Many girls were hoping to attend the ball with Lucius and were now slightly envious of her.

33. Classroom

As the rain thundered down outside, the Slytherins were sitting in an empty classroom at break. Rodolphus was sitting beside Darlina, who was talking to him about what colour of dress she was going to wear to the yule ball, while Rodolphus nodded. He wasn't listening to her at all, but was glaring at Bellatrix who was deep in conversation with Lucius.
"I don't feel too good, I'll see you later,"Rodolphus told Darlina.
"I'll come with you,"Darlina announced, eagerly standing up.
"No, you stay here."
As Rodolphus left, leaving an upset Darlina behind, Bellatrix couldn't help but smirk .

52. bore

"Has Darlina picked her dress yet?" Bella asked Rodolphus at breakfast. Rodolphus shrugged and continued eating.
"I've picked mine," Bella continued,"So, are you looking forward to the ball?"
"Yes,"Rodolphus said, not looking at Bellatrix, but at the girl now standing behind her.
Bellatrix turned around and noticed Darlina.
"Darlina!" Bella said standing up, "This bore here was just telling me how much he's looking forward to the ball! Now, I must go and find Lucius."
As Darlina sat herself next to him, Rodolphus felt sick as he watched Bellatrix leave the hall, her black hair swinging behind her.

64. Nap

Rodolphus entered the Slytherin common room. He had received a detention in Charms so it was about nine o'clock at night when he eventually returned to the common room. Everything was quiet. However, Rodolphus noticed Bellatrix sleeping peacefully in the chair by the fire. He slowly approached, deciding not to wake her. Rodolphus watched her sleeping for about 10 minutes until someone else entered the common room. Snape. Rodolphus muttered a quick greeting to Severus, before heading to the boys dormitory. Snape looked curiously around the common room before noticing a sleeping Bella and smirking. Lying awake in his bed, Rodolphus felt sick at the thought of Bellatrix attending the ball with Lucius Malfoy.

40. Spell

"AAAAHHHHHH!!!"
A scream ripped through the silent atmosphere of the Slytherin common room, waking up Rodolphus and the rest of his fellow Slytherins. He heard people running down the steps which led to the common room and followed quickly, confused. A circle of students had gathered around the fire, some trying not to laugh, others looking shocked. Bellatrix Lestrange was standing by the fire, her eyes burning with a fierce anger, her face covered in black fur.
"WHO DID THIS!"She screamed, causing people to back away. "Rodolphus came in late and was last to the dormitory last night,"piped Lucius Malfoy, who looked as white as snow.

94. Allergic

Madam Pomhray had told Bellatrix that she probably had a severe allergic reaction to something and had told her that the fur would be gone in two weeks. However, the ball was six days away and the whole school were not only laughing at her, but Lucius Malfoy too. "Er....hey Bella,"Lucius said awkwardly when he plucked up the courage to visit her.
Bella coughed.
"Well...er....I suppose you won't be going to the ball then,"Lucius said casually as Bellatrix stared at him,"Don't take this the wrong way or anything, but you know I've got a rep-"
"Hurry up,"Bellatrix said fiercely, knowing what was coming.
"I'm going with Narcissa instead."

57. Gape

Bellatrix could not walk down a corridor these days without people gaping at her. The fur had now disappeared, but news had spread about her being dumped by Lucius for, as people said when she passed them,'her younger and prettier sister.'
The other main news story around Hogwarts was that, with only one full day to the ball, Rodolphus had argued with Darlina Moonstone, resulting in her asking Bellatrix for advice."You two have been friends for ages,"Darlina had asked her one afternoon,"What do you thinks wrong with him."
"You know what Darlina, as I've told you a million times already, dump him and go with someone else.He's sure to get jealous." As Darlina walked away, Bellatrix smirked.

31. Dress robes

Bellatrix stared at her dress for the ball, packed away in her trunk. It was blood red and sparkly. She had been looking forward to wearing it, but now there was no point as she was not going. Everyone was all excited about wearing their new dress robes, but not Bella. Narcissa had gave up apologizing to her sister as Bellatrix refused to listen. She had never felt so embarrassed in all her life. How dare Lucius Malfoy take her sister to the ball instead of her? How dare her sister except the offer!

21. Veela

Rodolphus watched as Narcissa showed of her silver dress to her friends in the common room. Her friends were throwing her compliments, saying she looked exactly like a veela. "I'd better hurry and get changed before Lucius gets back from Quidditch practice,"Narcissa said, giggling and running up the stairs. "I wonder how Bellatrix is feeling?"Rabastan Lestrange said to his brother, laughing.
Rodolphus didn't answer, but looked at Bellatrix, sitting at the opposite side in the common room, reading a book though her eyes had been staring at the same spot for 15 minutes now.

49. Yule Ball

Rodolphus sat down at a table beside Lucius, Narcissa and Darlina. Lucius could hardly take his eyes of Narcissa, something which made him feel slightly sick and also awkward as Darlina seemed put out that Rodolphus hadn't copied Lucius and wasn't staring at her. He watched Andromeda Black dancing with a muggle-born boy on the dance floor and held in a laugh at the thought of what Bella would say if she was here. He thought of Bellatrix now, alone in the common room and looked at Darlina who was getting drinks. Lucius and Narcissa had got up to dance again and with that Rodolphus stood up and exited the Hall, unnoticed, back to the common room.

98. Pajamas

Rodolphus entered the common room and was surprised to see Bellatrix sitting on a chair in her green pajamas. She jumped a little. "Oh....what are you doing here?"she asked Rodophus, as she stood up and walked towards him.
"Didn't really like the dancing part,"he said awkwardly as he stood.
Bellatrix didn't reply, but continued to come closer to him a faint smile on her lips. She was very close to him now.
Just then, Darlina came rushing in the common room and Bella hastly took a step back. "See you tomorrow then," she said and hurried to her dorm, leaving Rodolphus with a furious looking Darlina.

84. Angry

The day after the ball, Rodolphus was sitting in the Great Hall, trying to ignore the laughing which was going on around him. Darlina was shouting at him, her eyes red and puffy. "You left me at the Yule ball to go and see BELLATRIX BLACK!,"she screamed as tears rolled down her rosy cheeks.
"No-,"Rodolphus started.
"SHUT UP!"she shouted over him as she continued to look furious. At this point, Professor McGonagall escorted Darlina out the Great Hall.
"Be quiet!"Rodolphus snapped at Amycus Carrow who was chuckling next to him. His eye caught Lucius Malfoys, who surprisingly looked just as angry as Darlina.

12. Charms

"Oops,"Bella said as her toad she had been trying to levitate zoomed across the room and hit Lucius. Rodolphus laughed. Lucius glared at him. "Now now, Miss Black do try and be careful,"Professor Flitwick said as he helped another student.
She sighed and put down her wand, deciding to give up. There was too much on her mind. She watched Rodolphus who was resting his head on his hands, smirking as Flitwick told off Lucius for not paying attention. Then suddenly, Rodolphus's eyes met hers and she quickly looked away, flustered. She picked up her wand and made an odd movement which caused Amycus Carrow's mouse to again fly across the classroom and hit Lucius in the face, earning herself extra homeworkk and a detention.

36. Muggle

Bellatrix smiled, thinking of an hour ago when she had sucessfully managed hex her cousin, Sirius on the way back from dinner. Chuckling at the thought, her mood improved when Rodolphus entered the library. "Hey Bella,"he said to her and he looked as though he was struggling to say something else.
Bellatrix pretended to be reading her notes on goblins, before looking up and smiling at him.
"What are you doing with that muggle!"Bellatrix yelled loudly as she noticed her sister behind Rodolphus holding hands with a muggle-born boy.
Andromeda glared at her sister."What does it look like Bella?"she asked.
"He's a mudblood!"she yelled,as Rodolphus grabbed her hand and led her out of the library,"You'll get in trouble for this."

11. History of Magic

"Imagine kissing a mudblood,"Bella whispered frantically to Rodolphus in history of magic as Professor Binns droned on. As Bellatrix continued to critisise her sister all Rodolphus had to do was nod occasionally and agree with everything she said. "Can you imagine the state my family will get in?"she said, shaking her head,"I mean, that sight has mentally scarred me for life. My own flesh and blood holding hands with a mudblood!" She sighed."Stop staring at me!"she suddenly snapped at Rodolphus who'd been gazing at her,"Remember I'll be needing to copy your History of Magic notes later!"

54. Dare

"Hey, Lestrange,"Lucius's cold voice shouted over the common room,"I've just dared Dolohov to go and stand right next to the Whomping Willow."
"Great,"Rodolphus replied.
"Why don't you go with him, make sure he doesn't get killed."
Rodolphus cleared his throut."I'm sure Dolohov can cope."
"Oh don't be such a wimp, Lestrange!"Lucius said laughing,"Are you scared you'll get hurt." Lucius looked around at the other Slytherins who were all laughing. Rodolphus looked at Bellatrix. She was not laughing, but looking straight at him.
"Fine, I'll go with Dolohov!"Rodolphus said hurriedly, leaving lucius disappointed.

5. Astronomy

A nervous Rodolphus attempted to label charts in Astronomy. In 3 hours, he was to go and stand beside the trunk of the whomping willow with Dolohov, who was as bright as a troll. He knew he couldn't pull out - Lucius had dared him.
"So, you think I'm being stupid?"Rodolphus asked Bella who was taking notes beside him.
"Yes, I do,"she replied,"Lucius only wants you to get hurt."
"Why would he?"Rodolphus replied,"I've always got on fine with Lucius."
He looked at Bellatrix who looked grim, but also pleased with herself.
"It's obvious,"she said to him,"He's jealous."
"Of what?"Rodoplhus said angrily, but Bellatrix just smiled.

18. Whomping Willow

Bella stood near Rodolphus by the Whomping Willow, as he prepared to go and stand beside the trunk without using magic and being struck by one of its branches.
"Where is Lucius?"Rodolphus wondered aloud to Dolohov, who was gaping at the tree with his mouth open.
However, a thought suddenly came to Bellatrix.
"Rodolphus, we have to go!"she said, running up to Rodolphus and whispering in his ear,"I don't think Malfoy's coming. I think he'll have gone to get a Professor so you'll get in trouble.
"What-,"
"Come on!"
The Slytherins began laughing and shouting at Rodolphus as he was pulled back up to the castle by Bellatrix.

15. Room

Bellatrix dragged Rodolphus into a room on the ground floor as Lucius rushed passed with Professor Slughorn, going in the direction of the school grounds.
"I told you that you were being stupid,"Bella snapped at his shadow as the room was very dark.
"Excuse me, but I don't really need telling off at the moment!"Rodolphus snapped back.
Smiling, Bella stood on tiptoe and gently kissed him before leaving the room. Rodolphus stood for a moment, dazed and then thought he'd better leave when he heard the distant shouts of Slughorn.

9. Defense Against the Dark Arts

Word had spread quickly around Hogwarts that Bellatrix and Rodolphus were now going out. Rodolphus couldn't help but feel rather smug with himself, especially when Lucius tried to Hex him in Defense Against the Dark Arts and missed, hexing the Professor instead.
Bellatrix was also feeling particulary cheerful. She loved Lucius's reaction to her and Rodolphus and couldn't care less that the other Slytherin girls were ignoring her in favour of Darlina.
"We should go to Hogsmeade together, next weekend,"she now said loudly to Rodolphus, which caused Darlina to burst into tears and Lucius to begin muttering to Macnair.

20. Hogsmeade

"Anyway, my family have completely got rid of Andromeda now. She's staying with Sirius at the Potters parents house!"Bellatrix informed Rodolphus as they walked through Hogsmeade.

"Don't you feel...guilty?"Rodolphus asked her, amused. "It was you that told them about her and Ted Tonks."

"You sound like Narcissa,"Bellatrix snapped,"but you can't have people like Andromeda disrespecting a pureblood family."

Rodolphus sometimes felt unnerved by Bella's attitude towards her family, but he put that to the back of his mind for now as they strolled through the village before their exams began.

99. Newspaper

"Hey Bella,"Rodolphus said taking a seat beside her and kissing her cheek.
"Hello,"she murmered, busy reading the newspaper.

"What're you reading?"he asked curiously as Bellatrix wasn't usually seen keeping up with the days news.

"Nothing, nothing...just wondering,"she replied, hastily folding the paper,"I'll see you in the morning, wait on me and we'll go to breakfast together.

As Bella disappeared upstairs, he looked at the page she'd been reading. It was devoted to muggles going missing and that they believed a certain dark wizard and his followers were behind it.

19. Wand

"You know what, I don't care if I fail these exams,"Bellatrix told Rodolphus as she practised levitating a book with her wand,"Do you?"

"Not really, but what could we do if we failed them? We could never get a job?"Rodolphus replied as he failed yet again to perform a switching spell

Bellatrix swiftly looked at him then decided to go ahead and say it.

"Do you trust me?"she asked suddenly.Rodolphus looked at her."Yeah, I suppose."

"I've been talking to Rabastan and I don't think we'll be needing NEWTS. He's agreed to introduce us to him."

26. Quill

The seventh years dropped their quills as the Charms exam ended, there final exam. Next week, they'd be all leaving Hogwarts to pursue normal jobs in the outside world.

Bellatrix was delighted about leaving school and pursuing her dream 'job'. Rodolphus wasn't so delighted about his choice, however, he wanted to make his family just as proud of him as they were with Rabastan.

It wasn't like they were the only ones. Macnair, the Carrows, Malfoy, Dolohov and a few others were also deciding to follow a unpredictable and dangerous 'career'.

13. Quidditch

Bellatrix and Rodolphus wandered outside near the Quidditch pitch after the exam. Rodolphus had always loved Quidditch and it was what he'd miss most about Hogwarts, playing Beater for the house team.

"We're doing the right thing, Rodolphus,"Bella said, watching him carefully,"We'll be doing something useful, not sitting around, working for the Ministry with all the muggle-lovers."
Rodolphus nodded, thinking forward to two weeks time.

"Aren't you worried?"Rodolphus asked her,"The way people speak about him, The Dark Lord they call him."

"He knows the right way the magical world needs to be run,"Bella replied smiling.

14. Hogwarts, A History

Bellatrix was up in her dormitory, throwing away her school books as it was the last day. She picked up Hogwarts, A History and threw that on the heap of books which were in the bin beside her bed.

Smirking at what Madam Pince would say, she left her dormitory to search for Rodolphus, who mentioned he would be at the library.

Arriving at the library, she saw Rodolphus having a heated conversation with Andromeda, who was looking angry.

"Your making a mistake,"she said to her sister.

I am not!"Bellatrix snarled back,"You'll be the one who's going to realise that hanging around with mudbloods isn't the way forward."

30. Feast

The end of year feast was as excellent as always as the last night finally arrived. Rodolphus glanced around at everyone laughing and joking, without a care in the world. He looked at Bellatrix who was laughing at a joke Alecto had just said with the other Slytherin 7th years.

She'd been a lot happier since her decision to join the Death Eaters. Rodolphus still wasn't sure he was doing the right thing, but he'd do anything to make his family and Bellatrix happy.

He looked at the Gryffindor table and saw Andromeda looking as though things were also on her mind.

27. Owl

Bellatrix put her owl, Topaz,in her cage. She liked her owl, it had been a gift from her father. Sighing, she had one last check of the dormitory and left, walking down to the common room with her trunk and cage.

Some of the fellow Slytherins were looking at the common room with sadness as they prepared to leave it for the last time, but not Bella. She couldn't wait to leave and official become a death eater.

"Come on, Cissy,"Bellatrix said to her sister, who scarpered after her and together they left the common room.

28. Timeturner

Rodolphus watched as Hogwarts castle disappeared behind the hills as the Hogwarts express gathered speed. He was unsure if he'd ever see it again, particulary because of the path he'd chosen to follow. He wished he had a timeturner where he could go back and change things, start school all over again.

Bellatrix was also watching the castle disappear feeling a strange sense of happiness. I'm going to become the Dark Lords most loyal deatheater, she thought to herself.She smiled and enjoyed the train ride back to London, without a care in the world.

47.Portkey

"One...two...three!"The group all touched the portkey and after a few seconds found themselves in a large room which would have been total darkness if a single candle had not been lighted.

"I see, Rabastan, that you have brought guests?"came a voice from a armchair.

"Y-yes my lord, do you remember the ones I told you about?"he said, kneeling on the floor as the others hastily copied him.

The wizard said nothing but stood up from his chair and strolled over to where Bellatrix Black, Rodolphus Lestrange, the Carrows, Lucius Malfoy and a few others were kneeling in the floor, feeling terrified.

93. Chicken

"Stop being a complete chicken, Rodolphus!"Bellatrix shouted at her husband,"Why did you join five years ago if you were going to worry about everything he get's us to do?"

Rodolphus sighed and looked up from the Daily Prophet."I'm not being a chicken Bella and will you please stop shouting, my heads getting sore and there is no need for you to shout."

Bellatrix stormed out the room and slammed the door leaving Rodolphus close his eyes and worry about his wife's obsession with everything to do with the Dark Lord. Sometimes ,he wondered if she even loved him at all.

76. Zap

ZAP! The spell narrowly missed Bella's head. All around her, Rodolphus, Rabastan and Barty Crouch Jnr were trying to defend themselves from the aurors while attempting to escape out an open window.

"Bella, come on!"Rodolphus said to her urgently."Its all over. We're going to get chucked in Azkaban if you don't get a move on!"

But she just looked at him as the aurors stunning spell hit her in the chest and she collapsed onto the floor. She would go to Azkaban. And the Dark Lord would return and rescue her. That was Bellatrix's last comforting thought as she became unconscious.

45. torch

The corridors of Azkaban leading to the cells were lit by torches, but the flames did not make the place seem friendly. Screams and crazed mutterings punctured the air.

Rodolphus was thrown into a cell by the dementor, while another pushed Bellatrix into the cell next to him. The dementors glided off to attend to Rabastan and Barty leaving the Lestranges to lie in their cells, unable to speak as a horrible sense of fear, loss and dread washed over them.

"My Lord, help me,"Bella murmered to herself, pulling at her hair and wishing that the fellow prisoners would shut up.

81. Depression

It felt all hope had been wiped out for Bellatrix. She could hear Rodolphus screaming sometimes, then he'd be quite for weeks. The deep depression that Bellatrix was feeling that she'd never get out of here, never see her Lord again and that she'd probably die here.

"At least I'm not screaming and crying,"she said, speaking aloud to herself . She felt the sound of her own voice gave her a bit of company, however small. A dementor entered and pushed in a plate of stale bread and Bellatrix closed her eyes as a new wave of overwhelming hopelesness hit her.

37. Animagus

Bellatrix peared out through the bars in her cell door. It was nearly dinner time and she was hungry, but nobody seemed to be coming. She sighed leaning her forehead against the coolbars. She never thought The Dark Lord would take this long to rescue her.

She began mumbling to herself until she heard a noise. Footsteps. Her heart leapt. They were drawing closer and closer. And then, she saw it.

A large black dog, whom she recognised, was walking quickly past the door.
"You!"she screeched,"HE'S ESCAPING!"

"Shut up,"came Rodolphus's voice from next door, which Bellatrix couldn't hear.

29. Pensieve

As soon as Rodolphus had stepped outside the walls of Azkaban, all thoughts had came back to him, as though they had been stored in a pensieve and were now being placed back in his memory.

While he felt as though he'd recovered some of his sanity, the same couldn't be said for his wife. She was not the same person he'd met all those years ago at Hogwarts. The way Bellatrix looked at him, as though he was nothing to her at all.

Rodolphus chose to ignore this at the present time and threw himself back into his work as a deatheater, while feeling all the while very depressed.

82. Careful

"It was all Lucius' fault,"Bellatrix told Rodolphus angrily,"He kept being all careful and trying to talk to Potter first! And now the Prophecy's gone, and you should have seen the way the Dark Lord looked at me! It was as though I was some burst Flobberworm!"

Rodolphus sighed wearily."Bellatrix, your sisters very upset over Lucius' imprisonment. Shouldn't you go and comfort her?"

"You shouldn't worry about her! You should worry about me,"Bellatrix said, pacing and pulling at her hair slightly.

"I do worry about you Bella..."Rodolphus muttered.

43. Headmaster

"I very much doubt Draco will be able to carry this out,"Rodolphus said, in a somewhat bored voice,"He's always come across as being weak."

"Excuse me, he is related to me,"Bellatrix said coldly,"If he does fail, imaging the shame for the entire family? I don't know why it would be so difficult anyway. Dumbledore's not that great, anyone could be Headmaster of a school. I just hope I can convince Narcissa that asking Snape for help is a bad idea."

Bellatrix shook her head and went off to look for her sister, who was currently attempting to hide from her.

85. Snappish

"Rodolphus' birthday in a few weeks,"Rabastan Lestrange told Bellatrix casually.

"Is it?"Bellatrix replied, quite unconcerned as she finished writing a letter.

"Don't you think you should get him something? I mean, he has been dropping a lot of hints and I think he does feel quite annoyed when, you especially, forget -."

Rabastan shut up at the look Bella was giving him, waiting for her to start shouting as she normally done when someone asked her something or advised her what to do

These days, she was especially snappish, due to her being replaced by Snape as The Dark Lords favourite.

87. Plaid

"Er..thanks Bella,"Rodolphus said to his wife, who'd already left the room after throwing an unwrapped plaid, moth-eaten jumper at him.
He wasn't bothered with birthdays anyway, but suspected his brother had told Bellatrix to get him a present. He sighed, but quickly looked more cheerful as Bellatrix re-entered the room.

"You could wear that to the meeting tonight,"she said to him seriously.
Rodolphus looked puzzled.
"You know. The meeting with the Dark Lord,"she explained, rolling her eyes.
"I'm not wearing that!"Rodolphus said angrily. He normally agreed to everything his wife asked for an easy life, but he had to put his foot down here.

70. teem

"Bellatrix not speaking to you again?" Nott asked Rodolphus at the Death Eater meeting that night.

Rodolphus shook his head, teeming with rage. The way in which Bellatrix was staring at the Dark Lord was making him sick. He was hoping she was doing it out of revenge for him not wearing her stupid jumper, but he doubted she could even remember she had a husband.

"Alright, Rod?" Lucius asked him from across the table. Everyone turned to look at him, including Bellatrix.

"Fine," he lied, catching Bella's eye. Bellatrix looked confused for about two seconds and began talking to one of the Carrows.

34. Parseltongue

Severus Snape was given some information at the latest meeting, but for once, Bellatrix wasn't paying attention. Why does the Dark Lord keep that snakeshe thought as Nagini circled the table.

She took a side-ways glance at Rodolphus but he didn't seem bothered by it at all. Annoyed, she stood on his foot under the table to get some reaction from him, but he completly ignored her.

A weird hissing and spitting noise was heard from across the table and her eyes shot up, but she realised it was just the Dark Lord using Parseltongue to call the snake.

60. Joke

Bellatrix was steadily turning an ugly, blotchy red colour. The Dark Lord and the rest of the Death Eaters were laughing at her over her mudblood niece getting married to a werewolf.

The Dark Lord said something to Draco, but she wasn't listening. Rodolphus, her husband, was sat a few seats away from her, also laughing, as though he found the whole thing a joke.

Bellatrix felt a strange sensation after this, one she'd only felt once before in her lifetime when she was five and her father and ripped the head off her favourite teddy bear in a rage.
