99. Trunk
April 1, 2029
Aged: mere hours old

They were both PhD students, and as such were quite busy.

Then, on the cool morning of April 1st, 2029, Melissa and Orville welcomed another baby boy into their family. A little brother for 5-year-old Scott and 3-year-old Walter.

Upon returning home from the hospital, Orville said "Oh dear, Mel... we... we - err... fo-forgot to set the crib up."
Melissa sighed and looked around. "Oh... oh it's fine, we'll just put him in the old trunk for now."
Little Scott was so excited to have another brother that he pulled the trunk out and gently placed baby Arthur inside.

65. Ooze
April 7, 2030
Aged: 12 months old

"Just watch out there, Scotty, little Art's teething. Drooling like a pug, 'e is," Melissa Newton said to her eldest son, who just wanted a cuddle with his baby brother.
Scotty laughed as Art latched onto his brother's nose and started to chew it with a light, gummy touch.
"Ahh I told you so," his mother said, confirming the drooling which was now dripping down Scotty's face.
The young boy was too busy laughing to realise his face was half covered with drool, oozing quickly out of Art's mouth.
"Here, you go clean yourself up for dinner," their mother laughed.

48. Leprechaun
March 17, 2031
Aged: 23 months old

"And will we see a leprechaun?" Walter asked.
Art giggled. "Leppycorn!" he squealed in delight.
The Newton parents laughed. "No, darling, leprechauns aren't real are they? They're just in the books, that's all."
Scott frowned and lowered his book. "But the leprechauns are well known in Ireland. We might see one."
Their father put his arm around Scott. It was rather squishy, being on the plane. "Why don't you err... look out for one then. Tell us about it if you find it. Catch it, perhaps? We could get rich," he suggested, leaning across Scott to tickle the giggling Arthur.

96. Socks
April 21, 2032
Aged: 3 years old

Running frantically late, Melissa still had to get the four boys ready, drop them at child care, go to work for 9 hours and, what for? To make dinner and make sure her husband and sons were settled before she, herself, could take 5 minutes by herself.
"Nothing fits you anymore Arthur, look at these socks! They wouldn't fit your teddy bear."
Art was giggling, squirming, and generally making it more and more difficult for his mother to dress him. "Arfuuuur not fit 'is socks," he repeated. He had just learned to say his name, which he loved to repeat.

44. Ford Anglia
June 8, 2033
Aged: 4 years old

"I'm not going to school, though," four-year-old Arthur said.
"No, darling, we're taking your brothers," his mother replied.
"You'll love it, you get to do crafts," Scott, the eight-year-old, sighed. "I have to do the hard maths."
"I like maths though," Walter replied.
"Maths is fun!" Arthur chimed in. He enjoyed doing maths puzzles with the blocks. His mum made it super fun.
"Right boys, into the car," their father said, as their mother buckled baby Samuel into the back of the Ford Anglia.
Art climbed into the back and waited for his seat belt to be done up, too.

26. Quill
March 1, 2034
Aged: 4 years and 11 months old

"Come on Arty, let's say something nice for Chirp."
"But I want Ch-ch-chirpy baaaaaaaack," he sobbed.
"I know darling." Melissa bundled him up into her arms, her shoulder getting damp from the tears.
"Hey Art, look, it's a feather."
Art looked up from his mother's shoulder to see the feather Scott was holding.
"You know what you can do? You can turn it into a Quill."
"Wh-what's a q-q-quill?" Art asked.
Melissa unwrapped him from her arms and watched her eldest son calm his little brother.
"It's what really old people used to use, in the olden days, before pens."

95. Snowball
February 17, 2035
Aged: 5 years and 10 months old

The Newtons were enjoying a crisp, gelid morning on their holiday back to Oslo. Outside, the snow was knee deep and perfect for snowball sculpting.

"CATCH!" their father yelled, throwing a snowball to Scott. It hit him in the middle of his face as he turned around.
Art giggled madly before squeezing together a pile of snow in his gloved hands, and throwing it to his father. It fell to the ground half way there, but young Art wasn't discouraged.
His father ran forwards, scooped his son up, and tickled him without mercy as more snowballs came pelting towards them.

78. Author’s Choice (The Scarlet Steam Engine)
September 1, 2036
Aged: 7 years, 5 months

"That is the most magnificent looking tram," said 9-year-old Walter.
"Ith no-not a t-tram, dummy, ith a tr-train," said 7-year-old Arthur.
"It's a steam engine!"
And Scott would know. He'd read all about the Scarlet Steam Engine that he'd be riding to Hogwarts.
"I don't want you to goooooo," whined 4-year-old Samuel.
"Ith okay Sammy, we'll get lots of letters," Art said to reassure his younger brother. HE was Sammy's older brother. He was so desperate to get on the Scarlet train, but he knew he wasn't allowed. He just hoped with all the atoms he'd go in 4 years.

71. Untie
January 7, 2037
Aged: 7 years, 9 months

"MAMA LOOOOOOOOK," yelled Art, running into the Study.
"Shush Artie, I'm concentrating." Melissa was peering into a microscope.
"BUT MUUUUUUMAAAAAAAAAA, LOOK!"
With great frustration, Melissa did look up. Art was looking VERY proud and pointing to his feet.
"Oh Art your shoes are untied," she said, stepping up to re-tie them. She didn't want him to fall and bite his tongue off.
"I DID IT!"
"You untied them?"
"YES! And I can tie 'vem up again too!"
He bent down and demonstrated how he could tie his own shoelaces.
"Art! You can tie your laces," Melissa beamed at her son.

15. Room
October 28, 2038
Aged: 9 years, 6 months

Art wasn't used to there being so much ROOM in the house. But more than that, he wasn't used to having his OWN room. Once Walter left, Melissa decided to separate Art and Sam. Give them their own space.
Little by little Art had moved his things to the other room. He had two beds to choose from, but he decided to go with Scott's because it was newer and more comfortable. The other bed was kept free, not even a Teddy slept there. Art wanted to make sure that Sammy had a bed in case he had a nightmare.

1. Herbology
June 7, 2039
Aged: 10 years, 2 months

Ten-year-old hands expertly sprinkled some soil into a cracked, old pot he'd glued back together. It had been mixed with some compost and aerated by hand. Perfectly spaced apart mint seeds were placed on top of the soil with precision. There were 10 seeds, as counted by Art, forming a circular pattern.
"Grow well," he whispered, before sprinkling some more soil over the seeds, and covering them. He gave it a light watering, stuck in the soil a pop stick with 'Mint' written on, and placed the pot in the small garden greenhouse by his other repaired and filled pots.

14. Hogwarts, A History
April 1, 2040
Aged: 11 years

"Happy Birthday Art," his siblings said.
The boys surrounded their brother, dropping a heavy gift in front of him on the table. The cutlery jumped ever so slightly on the table.
Art ripped it open to expose a brand new, hardcover copy of Hogwarts, A History.
"WOW!" he said, flipping open the pages and looking through the pages, feeling the crispness as he turned them, inhaling the new-book scent, and seeing each moving picture.
"That's to go with this," Melissa said, handing him a letter.
Art knew what it was.
"It's m-my l-letter!" The eleven-year-old wizard opened his Hogwarts letter.

30. Feast
June 30, 2041
Aged: 12 years, 2 months

It might have been because the start-of-term, and Halloween feast now seemed like so long ago, but Art was amazed at how luscious the end-of-term feast was. He'd turned around to wave at his two older brothers, at the Ravenclaw table, and in those few seconds, the table had FILLED with food. He was now used to the constant use of magic, although moments like this really did amaze him.
"What're you gonna start on?" his friend asked.
"Mmm p-punkin pie," Art said, and put three of them on his plate to eat.
"I wish they'd serve dessert with dinner."

Jessiqua 01-09-2018 07:57 PM

87. Staircase
February 8, 2042
Aged: 12 years, 10 months

"Do you double dare me though?" Angus asked.
"Yup, I doub-double dare you!"
The small group of second-year students surrounded the top of the staircase.
"That means you 'ave to do it with me."
Art was ALWAYS game for a dare. Even better, a DOUBLE dare!
"Okay, on the c-count of three?" Art suggested, grinning.
Angus nodded.
"One... Two... THREE," the group counted together.
They took a running jump and leaped DOWN the staircase to see how far they could get. Only, they landed and TWO audible cracks were heard, followed by SCREAMS of agony as they broke their legs!

Jessiqua 01-09-2018 07:59 PM

25. Sorting Hat
September 1, 2043
Aged: 14 years, 5 months

Well, that was it. The fourth, and last, Newton boy was at Hogwarts. Scott and Walter watched from the Ravenclaw table, whilst Art watched from the Gryffindor table, as 'Newton, Samuel,' was called.
The youngest brother had the sorting hat placed on his head. Art counted in his head, biting his lip. 55 seconds, 56, 57... and
"RAVENCLAW" was bellowed by the hat.
Art's stomach did a little drop. He'd hoped to have at least one brother in his house, but NO... they were all Ravenclaw. He watched with some bitterness as his other brothers clapped the loudest of all.

Jessiqua 01-09-2018 08:03 PM

62. Amortentia
May 1, 2044
Aged: 15 years, 1 months

"Hey, smell this," James said as he wafted a little vial under the noses of the fourth-year Gryffindors.
"I don't fancy smelling anything you put under my nose, James," Angus joked.
Art didn't MEAN to smell it, but he did. He inhaled it deeply. "Great Scott that smells amazing," he said.
"Like what exactly?" James said, smirking.
"I dunno, smells like.. like... Transfiguration."
"'chu mean?"
"Floral, like. And cherry..."
"Wait... who do you sit next to?"
"Danielle."
"Do you know what this is, Arty boy?"
"N..."
his eyes widened. "That's amortentia!"
He looked up, and across the room was Danielle.

Jessiqua 01-09-2018 08:06 PM

27. Owl
July 14, 2045
Aged: 16 years, 2 months

There it was.
Art saw it approaching. It was getting closer and closer, its features turning from a brown blob, to a flying animal, to an owl.
"Great Scott," he muttered nervously.
Walter, standing next to Art at the window, was green.

Art unrolled his parchment, breathing a HUGE sigh of relief.
"Outstanding for everything," he said. Well, at least the things that mattered. "How about you?"
Walter had slumped onto the chair.
"Walt?"
Art took Walter's parchment and read his NEWT exam results. "Twelve Outstandings! Walt, you c-couldn't have done any better if you'd cheated!"
Walt was absolutely speechless.

Jessiqua 01-09-2018 08:09 PM

5. Astronomy
January 1, 2046
Aged: 16 years, 9 months

"They're like earth's fireworks," Danielle whispered.
"Happy New Year," Art said.
"Happy New Year," she replied, leaning up to kiss her boyfriend.
"I thought you'd like them. I saw they w-were predicted for tonight. You should make a wish. It's not every day you see a shooting star."
Danielle smiled up at him. SHE, who got Outstandings in Astronomy, knew that it wasn't really something you wish on. It was just a meteor. But he was being romantic, and she loved that about him.
"I wish that-" she started, but Art interrupted with a kiss.
"Shh, don't spoil your wish."

Jessiqua 01-09-2018 08:12 PM

17. Cauldron
August 15, 2047
Aged: 18 years, 4 months

"You'll need to get a new cauldron," Melissa said, teary-eyed.
"The best cauldron," Orville said, trying to suppress his tears.
"A gold one. I'll get a gold one," Art said, shaky hands still holding open his acceptance into the Edinburgh Wizarding University.
"A diamond one!" Joined in Scott.
"Nah, how about titanium? I bet they make those," pitched in Walter.
"Don't be daft," Orville said, thankful to be laughing.
"Yeah, Walt. I mean, if he's going to have the BEST of THE BEST for Potions, he has to have a plutonium cauldron."
They all started laughing at the very IDEA!

Jessiqua 01-09-2018 08:15 PM

72. Vex
June 15, 2048
Aged: 19 years, 2 months

"What's the matter?" Danielle asked. She was getting vexed by Art's grumpiness. He wasn't usually like this.
"Just s-stress," he sighed.
Danielle continued doing what she had been in the middle of. Auror studies. Art thought HIS exams were stressful. He wouldn't have examiners shooting off hexes at him to dodge.
He siiiiiiiighed again. He was NOT satisfied with Danielle's support, and her moodiness and neglect was starting to vex him. Why wasn't she helping him? It wasn't as if she had to remember precise volumes, weights, methods and spells for HER exams.
"Stop sighing Art!" She yelled.
He sighed.

13. Quidditch
September 17, 2049
Aged: 20 years, 5 months

"GO SCOTT! GO NEWTON!" The Newton clan bellowed out from the stands.

The lone flyer dodged pretend bludgers, and dove for the invisible snitch.
"H-he's going! Scott Newton of-of the Norwegian National Quidditch Team... he's diving.. he's reaching... HE HAS THE GOLDEN SN-SNITCH!" Art yelled, pretending to hold a microphone.

The very full stand ran down the stairs to the grounds, running down to Scott to lift him in a champion embrace.

"Guys, can we not?" Scott said. "I'm just practicing."
"Oh but Scotty, we have to support you! We're your top fans!" Walt said.
"We're your only fans, actually."

92. Chocolate
April 1, 2050
Aged: 21 years

"Happy birthday my dearest," Danielle said, giving him something.
Art took the wrapped cylinder. Red paper, a gold bow. He shook it; it made a light sound. "Thanks," he said, carefully unwrapping it. It was a black cylindrical tin. He was careful to open it. It had to have something to do with a rare ingredient, he was sure. It was black chips. "What's this?" he said, sniffing it.
Danielle rolled her eyes. She pulled down a teapot, put a spoon of the black chips in, and filled it with hot water. "It's chocolate tea!"
Art's face shone in delight.

55. Egg on
November 17, 2051
Aged: 22 years, 7 months

Brown hair disheveled, eyebrows slightly singed, tongue poking out. Art's first year as a qualified potioneer was interesting. "An egg... an egg? W-why a-am I adding an e-egg?" Art flippped open his notes and saw that there was an egg involved. No, he wasn't adding the egg.
"P-place the l-lid of the cauldron a-and crack an egg on it." Art was past the point of doubt when it came to Potions. Curiouser and curiouser yet were many of the instructions. He put the lid on his golden cauldron, carefully cracked the egg, and plonked it on the lid. "No-now what?"

31. Dress Robes
June 29, 2052
Aged: 23 years, 2 months

"You look so handsome, Arty," his wife said. She pulled the robes closed, fastened them, and straightened his tie.
"And you are beautiful, as always." He took her hands in his, and the diamond on her ring finger shone in the light. "I love you."
"I love you too, Mr Graduate."

Art grinned. His dress robes were brand new, in the theme of his Gryffindor colours.
"You'll be here all day?"
Danielle nodded. "All day. I'm in the second row, your parents have a spot saved already."
Art nodded nervously.
"You'll be fine my dearest! Just follow the person ahead."

Jessiqua 01-14-2018 12:15 AM

18. Whomping Willow
August 12, 2053
Aged: 24 years, 4 months

"GREAT SC-SCOTT!" Art yelped, jumping off the couch. His book fell to the floor, his placement lost for now.
Danielle walked into the house, one eye a slit, the other swollen closed. Her clothes were ripped, her skin covered in bruises, cuts, and grazes. "What happened? Looks like you tried to duel the Whomping Willow!" He pulled her to the kitchen where the light was better for assessing and dressing the wounds.
Danielle, still in shock, flopped on a chair. "I... I wasn't prepared for the examiner's combat, just started throwing spells at me."
An auror must always be prepared.

Jessiqua 08-17-2018 10:01 AM

89. Past
April 1, 2054
Aged: 25 years

"Happy Birthday Art," 8 voices sang around the table.
"Twenty Five. Quarter of a Century, man. You're oooooold," said Samuel, the baby of the family. Who was, currently, 22-years-old.
Art chuckled as he spooned cake into his mouth.
"My, only 25 years since we first met you," said a tearful Melissa.
"Our son, all grown up," followed Orville.
"I-I've been all grown up f-for years," Art said.
"Yeah, you're right old," said Samuel, mouth full of cake.
"You grew from such a sweet little boy to a successful, mature young man, darling."
"They're reminiscing on the past already, old man."

Jessiqua 08-18-2018 09:11 AM

29. Pensieve
September 18, 2055
Aged: 26 years, 5 months

Heading into his fourth and final year of his Healing Studies meant he would soon be learning the more complex Wizarding diseases, cures, and brewing some of the most difficult potions. His mind was constantly buzzing. During his practice brews he was starting to mess up the potions. He had accidentally extracted the wrong hormone from the synthetic Adrenal gland. Adding it to the anti-paralysis Potion had lead to the practice dummy falling asleep instead of regaining muscle function.

He pulled out his Pensieve to delve into his memories and revise the potions he'd learned over the past three years.

57. Goblin
February 20, 2056
Aged: 26 years, 10 months

Down they went, the little cart whizzing through the maze of twisting passages.
"Vault 619," the Goblin Bagnuk said as the cart squealed to a stop.
Art got out and collected a handful of Galleons from his vault. He put a small portion in his pocket, and one Galleon each into three small velvet bags. Each bag had a name on it. Henry, Joshua, and Peter.
"Next stop, Vault 611," Bagnuk drawled.
"It's m-my nephews. Well, G-God-sons. Born yesterday, they were. Little Adrian i-is excited to have cousins finally." If he had photos, he'd have attempted to show them off.

Jessiqua 08-23-2018 10:28 AM

38. Patronus
December 23, 2057
Aged: 28 years, 8 months

Art put a comforting arm around his nephew's shoulder.
"I-it happens." Art nodded expertly. "When you look forward to something for so long, and then it comes an-and goes, you get a bit of-of post-event blues." And having looked forward to his fifth birthday party for so long, it was bound to happen.
"Yeah, I guess" Adrian sighed. He had muggle primary school to look forward to. He sighed again.
"Let me show you something." Art pulled out his wand, showing off his Gorilla patronus. It stomped around for a moment before shoving a giant finger up its own nose.

9. Defense Against the Dark Arts
June 28, 2058
Aged: 29 years, 2 months

Explosions from his cauldron had singed Art's eyebrows off, but he hadn't totally realised. "N-now... now we add the r-rosemary oil." Three precisely drawn up drops were added to the cauldron, which turned a solid grey colour, and the man smiled. To the exact nanometre, a 3.975cm by 1.299cm, by 50mm thick slice of turmeric was added.
"How's it brewing, Newton?" His boss called out.
"N-nearly finished."
"We need to get this done, man. Too many brain injuries from Aurors in training." It was taking up a whole ward of Olaf's.
"D-didn't learn to drop and roll in Defence class."

60. Joke
April 3, 2059
Aged: 30 years

For Whit!

Holding baby Rosalyn in his big arms was a special moment. He had four nephews, but this was his first niece.
"She's a beauty Josephine," he said softly to his sister-in-law. "Looks j-just like me."
Josephine, exhausted from the task of delivering a tiny human into the world, was fast asleep.
"Such a jokester, Uncle Artie," Scott said with a quietly chuckle.
"I wasn't sure it was possible for Newtons to produce females."
"Mmm, me too actually. I think mum and dad were more excited than us." That was understandable, considering their parents raised four sons, and had four grandsons.

81. Depression
January 1, 2060
Aged: 30 years, 9 months

Six months, and Art's grief had not dissipated at all. Waves had continued to hit him throughout the last six months. When he was on his way to work, when he was sleeping, when someone said a joke and he found himself laughing. It was like a weight clamping around his heart and pulling it down. It was like a curtain of black shutting around his entire sense of life. His wife, his best friend, his Danielle, gone in the line of duty.

His mind continuously asked 'what if'; she'd stayed home, she'd looked up a moment quicker, she'd survived.

98. Pajamas
November 8, 2061
Aged: 32 years, 7 months

"B-but S-sir, you ha-have to put on your gown," Art stammered.
"I DON'T WANT TO," the young man bellowed, jumping stark naked out of bed.
The man clearly wasn't in his right mind, suffering an altered mental state from a botched SkeleGrow potion. However, Art was Healer in Charge and he couldn't have a naked man running about the place.
"Petrificus Totalus," he cast. The man's limbs snapped to his body, and he fell backwards onto the carpeted floor. "I d-didn't want to d-do that." And with the man now safely paralysed, Art hastily covered the man in his pyjamas.

35. Pureblood
June 1, 2062
Aged: 33 years, 2 months

"What about a dating site of some kind?"
Art shook his head. "I'm r-really not interested Walt." He wasn't sure why his family were so concerned with him moving on. His wife had only been gone three years.
Mara showed him some magazines she had under her arm. "There's Pureblood Mingle, Which Witch..."
"Great Scott, no," he chuckled. He certainly wouldn't be finding a potential partner in a magazine. "Just... stop. I'm not ready. I'll find someone when the timing is right."
Mara and Walt exchanged a look. They'd only ever dated each other. Some couples weren't so lucky, though.

39. Duel
July 18, 2063

"Great Scott, I've done it," he said quietly. He held the glass phial up against the light. His ethical test subject was fine, and had survived Crucio being thrown at it by multiple aurors.

His boss came running towards him, giving the test subject another once over. "Merlin's Beard, he's fine!" Absolutely fine. Nothing wrong with it. No sign of pain, no sign of even a slight tickle.

Art carefully put the phial onto the desk, before sinking to his knees and letting his feelings overcome him.
"Man, you've done it! You've developed our prototype protection potion."

He really had.

61. Kiss
August 15, 2064
Aged: 35 years, 4 months

Art swept his bride into his arms before walking over the threshold into their home. Having lived there together, now, for three months, this was wasn't as big of a gesture as it could have been. But he wished to do something that was part of a tradition, having just been married privately.
"I'm the happiest woman alive," Minnie said, reaching up to kiss her husband.
She wasn't as happy as Art was, though. He would bet all of his potions on that. She too, however, would have bet all of her plants on the fact that she was happier.

93. Chicken
December 24, 2065
Aged: 36 years, 8 months

Knives and forks scraped against the plates as the entire Newton clan sat around enjoying their Christmas dinner.
Minnie's cutlery clattered against the table as the utensils fell from her hands. Her napkined hand covered her mouth for a moment before she shot up from the table, her chair falling behind her. She ran off to the bathroom, leaving everyone else confused.
"I'll go check on her," Art said as he excused himself.
Minnie was retching in the bathroom, and Art knocked quietly.
"I think it's the ch-chi-" she started to say, before retching again.
"Something wrong with the chicken?"

Aged: 37 years, 3 months

With a heaving push from Minnie, the third and final infant opened its mouth letting a wail escape.
"It's beautiful," Art said, looking down lovingly at his wife.
The healers bundled up the triplets, handing them over to their parents.
"Congratulations, you have two sons and a daughter," the main Healer announced.
"We have our three babies," Minnie said, with one boy under each arm. She bend her head to plant a gentle kiss on each of their foreheads.
Art was speechless as he looked down at his daughter. "Thirty perfect fingers, thirty perfect toes." Perfect, tiny fingers and toes.

Into the fireplace and out of the grate.
"Hello dears," Melissa said, bypassing her son and going straight for her grandchildren, and taking all three of them into her expert arms.
"Great Scott who dressed these poor children?" Walter asked his brother.
"I-I did..." Art sounded rather offended.
"Arty boy, you're truly an anachronism."
Art frowned. "I thought they looked cute."
Everybody looked at the triplets, Josephina in a white dress with poofy sleeves, which appeared to have a petticoat underneath, and the boys in knee-high socks with shorts and a vest.
"They do look cute, darling," Art's mother said.

He had a moment of sonder as he looked upon the next patient in line. It was an elderly witch. Cynically he had thought perhaps she was there wasting his time. They often seemed to be. But that wasn't fair at all. He wanted to be at home with his family, but perhaps this witch had none. He wanted to end his hard day at work, but perhaps she was poor. He wanted a moment to recharge after so many interactions, but perhaps this was her first interaction of the day. Perhaps the week. Perhaps she needed some friendly company.

49. Yule Ball
18th November, 2069
40 years, 7 months

Art placed the needle onto the record.
"We danced to this song at one of the balls our university held. Where we met."
He turned to his father, who was hastily wiping his eyes.
"Dad," was all he could say.
"She always appreciated a fine tune. She loved the concinnity of the Oslo Philharmonic."
"Well I," he gulped hard. "I think it's an appropriate song for her burial."
His father nodded. "I think so too."
Art felt the heavy waves of grief just as vividly as when he lost Danielle. And now his father was going through the same loss.

84. Angry

"It's not the same without them, is it? But.. I suppose life keeps going." Scott paused. His seat was now at the head of the table, as the oldest Newton. "Merry Christmas everyone."
"Merry Christmas," everyone echoed, clinking glasses together.
"I'll carve the turkey." Art took the fork and sliced the pieces thin, just like his father had taught. Just like he had done every year. The fork dropped from his grip, slipping, the knife sliced his hand. "Ugh," he roared, then dropping the knife.
"Art, darling, sit down."
He had his wife. And now his parents, somewhere, were reunited.

2. Muggle Studies
10 September, 2071
42 years, 5 months

"What a year," Danielle said, wiping tears away.
"Mummy sad?" Little Josie asked, wearing her too new and too big uniform.
"No darling, I'm just... suffering from," sniff, "Alexithymia."
Josie frowned as she continued picking invisible lint from her dress. The five-year-old needed everything to be copacetic. Her uniform, her bag, her school books. It was all ready for the triplets first day of school.

Art walked in, ready to drop them off and head for his first day of his chemistry degree at Oxford University.
"My academic," Danielle said, neatening up the lapels of his shirt, and kissed him.

85. Snappish
19th April, 2072
43 years

It was all rather cloying, that Art had to sweet talk his own wife. He simply didn't have room to schedule school meetings, or pickups. What, with his working and studying. Minnie had been very snappy, to the point of walking on eggshells. But the academically raised man couldn't drop out of his studies. And Minnie, deep down, didn't want that.

"D-darling, I can't." Art produced a large chocolate flower bouquet.
Minnie snatched them. "Arthur I am sick of this! When do I get time to myself!?"
"Wh-when I'm... finished."

And with that, the flowers were thrown at his face.

16. Dragonhide gloves
December 5th, 2073
44 years, 8 months

Opening his bag Art immediately realised he'd made a mistake. He knew they were using chemicals that were harmful to the skin. He knew he had to bring his chemical gloves. But what had be brought? His Dragonhide Gloves.

"Sir, I've forgotten my gloves," he said, realising he couldn't put his Dragonhide Gloves on in front of a class of muggles.
After a sigh, the Professor produced an old but still acceptable pair of gloves for Art. "Remember them tomorrow Newton," he said.
Glad he hadn't brought robes or his Spectrespecs, he put on his lab coat and protective goggles.

33. Classroom
November 8th, 2074
45 years, 7 months

In the classroom, with a qualified teacher sitting at the back of the room, Art had a few minutes to put his papers on the desk, write his name on the board, and check the order of the desks.

It was time.

He opened the door, greeting the sixteen-year-old Chemistry students as they entered. They seemed rather well behaved.
"I h-haave s-some chemicals here. W-what w-we're going t-to do t-today is propose an hypothesis, p-predict an outcome, and er... c-carry out your testing." With a nod he gave an example of his own project involving a plant an and ester.

97. Dictionary
September 18th, 2075
46 years, 5 months

"W-w-what do you m-mean you can't do it anymore?"
Minnie sighed. "I just can't take it. There's so much misogyny at work. I don't get any of the cases I want, I'm just cleaning up the safest messes."
"Can you speak to your department head?"
"What part of misogyny don't you understand? Do I need to throw a dictionary at your big man head?"
Minnie shrieked.
Art was SHOCKED. He and his wife never yelled at each other.

But to be on the safe side. "Accio dictionary," Art said, his wand firm in his hand. "M...M...M... ah, here we go..."
