Hi, everyone!! My name is Shannon - feel free to call me Shannon, Shan, Watson. I'm honoured to be here this month to answer questions you may have about me! :loved:

My HP journey began when I was very, very young. My brother’s godmother had gifted my brother with the very first HP book (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone) and it became a nightly bedtime story that my parents read to me. I didn’t get much into it then - I was only five at the time so it took me until the first film came out in theatres to want to learn everything about Harry Potter. Afterwards, I went to the bookshop and got the next books that were available and began devouring them. I fell in love with the characters and the Magical World immediately.

Fast forward to 2009, I had been apart of several other RPGS on the web (Avatar RPGs, Tumblr Harry Potter Marauders ones) and then I stumbled upon SS. Back then, my name was Emms on SS because I really liked the name Emma (middle school logic :lol: It made sense at the time haha… I’m thinking that I wanted to be like Emma Watson so badly cause we had similar hair colours). What attracted me to the site first was the Hogwarts RPG but what made me stay was this community. I’m now going on 10+ years on site (which is crazy and amazing). Over the years, I’ve gotten the opportunity to play different characters here and there (a House Elf, a IMPS competitor, and more). Currently, I am a moderator for Honeydukes (Fanfiction). I currently play the History of Magic Professor (Simon Holden).

Outside of SS, I work as an full time engineering manager in manufacturing. I just moved a week and a half ago and started my new role at a different location. Still trying to get back into the swing of things but very happy to be here! Outside of work and SS, I love making food, trying new restaurants, dancing, watching movies, and theatre - this upcoming weekend I will be writing and performing in a 24 hour production at my alma mater - it will be the first time I’m back there in person since before the pandemic.

Fun fact about me: I have a F1BB toy goldendoodle named Watson. I am a BIG Sherlock fan :lol:

Hi Sunny! :x3: My favourite food is so hard to choose so I'll share top three.

For breakfast, I love making orange raspberry scones from scratch. I modified a recipe from Smitten Kitchen - her lemon blueberry scone recipe is to die for. So good! I did substitute this recipe for orange and raspberries instead. For dinner, I love making lemon basil chicken. It's a family recipe. It's delicious and super easy to make. All you need is panko (bread crumbs), irish bacon, basil, lemon. You cover the chicken with the bread crumbs and then add the bacon on top. Then you pour the lemon-basil sauce when you are ready to serve. Scrumptious!

My final favourite food to make is pavlova. We make it every Christmas time. Pavlova is a marshmallow meringue type of desert - chewy, crispy on the outside with fluffy marshmallow-ey goodness on the inside. As an Australian, I have to say we claim it but I know the New Zealanders claim it too as their treat :lol: It's super easy to make too. All you need is egg whites, sugar, corn starch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Then make some whipped cream, pour fresh fruit of your choice on, and drizzle with passionfruit. YUM!

Also if you guys like cooking - you should def watch the film Chef but don't EVER watch it on an empty stomach... I made that mistake and I was practically drooling over all the close up food shots.

My favourite cuisine has to be Italian. My Aunt lived in Italy for a little bit so I was able to spend a few weeks with her and eat all the delicious homemade pasta. I can never say no to pasta or good bread :lol:

Hi Ali! Ooh what a good question. Captain America or Batman... Hmm... I LOVE BOTH OF THEM! I'd say Captain America because I spent some time in my childhood near where he grew up. I was one town over.. Never met him but a huge Chris Evans fan! :loved: I'd also say Captain America because on every Buzzfeed quiz (if you want to take buzzfeed quizzes or want someone to do them with you- hit me up! I LOVE them... Used to do a lot of them in uni and when I worked from home during the pandemic) that I've taken that's about superheroes - I always get Captain America... even if I wish I were more like Tony Stark (cause engineering is my passion).

Hi! So sorry for the delay. My favourite movie is Intouchables. It’s a French foreign film about a young African man who starts work as a caretaker for a disabled middle aged french man. They start off rocky but the growth of their friendship is such a sweet tale. So heart warming! Would recommend it!
