| | | Meet Hermione_loves_Ron Hey guys, Hermione_loves_Ron! My name is Ashlie, but I go by many a nickname. Anything from Ash, Ashes, Ash-uh-Lee, even to the stranger names, like Afro Puff. Trust that I’m used to the oddest of names. ;] Currently, I am 21-years-old and live in the frigid state of Iowa. I am not a big fan of winter, though, so I’m in quite the predicament.
I am a mod in the Ollivander’s Wand Shop and play the shopkeeper of the Leaky Cauldron in the Ministry RP. My seventh year character is my third fully completed character, which means that I have played in the school RP through a span of 22 terms. You can often find me lurking about in the TP, playing in the school RP (when I’m not too busy offline… :/), playing in Diagon Alley, and doing graphics. Though I don’t always have time for them, I love to play in Knockturn Alley, too. RPs were one of the aspects of Snitchseeker that brought me to the site.
Come June, I will have been a member of Snitchseeker for seven years. I’ve definitely been around for a lot. ;]
In my free time, I like to write. Though I’ve been through many dream goals, currently, I would love to finish schooling with a major in psychology and a minor in journalism. For the longest time, I’ve wanted to be a journalist and was the Editor-in-Chief last year of my school’s newspaper, but I’m looking into a career of counseling, though I’m not certain yet what I would fully like to pursue. In the end, though, my main goal is to be a published author, and already, I have a nearly complete novel that I am working on, and two in the works. :] Writing has always been my favorite hobby, and I hope to one day be able to be paid for it.
The bulk of my life, though, includes working in the local pizzeria. Though it’s not a glamorous job, it’s really simple, kind of fun, and pays well. I love dancey music and such genres as pop-punk and punk rock. Various obsessions of mine include Pokemon video games, giraffes, penguins, being nerdy, Alice in Wonderland, doodling, writing, wasting time on Facebook, photoshop, The Sims, and books.
Feel free to ask me any questions, though bear in mind that they must stay within the Snitchseeker board rules. Also, remember that site-related questions should be asked in the appropriate Questions and Answer thread. Please try to do a quick read-through and see if your question has already been asked. :] |

Hogwarts RPG Name: November {Noe} Franze First Year | Brain Twin | MASTAH ASHURRII | Reisdent PokeNerd | Digifangirl Heeheeee! You know what's really cool about the name Aunteh Ashlie? =D Dustin's brother's girlfriend had a babeh! And because his brother considers me his sister-in-law, despite my lack of marriage, he pretty much considers me Auntie Ashlie to the new babeh Aiden. Heehee! You most certainly arrrreeee
Oh goooooodnesss. I could talk forever about my previous characters, but I'm going to try really, really hard not to babble forever about them. I'm really crazy about them, though. =D
My first character was Ashlie Moore, based very much off of my self. She was Prefect for three terms, earned an award for helping Professor Rae fight off Voldemortist (as well as a few other students), and was around for eight terms, because I missed part of her third term and had her repeat it. Heehee! She was spunky, loud, bossy, and had a lot of friends. She went through a few beaus and has settled with her Hogwarts sweetheart, Elijah. :]
She was a good friend to my second character, James Reiss, aka Jamie. Jamie was... oh my gosh, oodles of fun. His best friend was Ama's Bucky and to this day, they're still good friends. Bree's Tag was his male best friend and they, too, continue to hang out. Jamie has been dating Faye, a friend of his from Hogwarts, for a long time now, and is considering proposing to her. Oooherrr la la! Also, he is going to open a bake shop soon. YAY! =D For the longest time, Jamie had a cootie phobia and would actually go around giving out cootie shots and warning boys to be wary of physical contact with girls. Bless his heart, so, so, sweet. =D He's had an eclectic array of pets, including fluffy orange furball Admiral Michael and his black and white ferret, Sergeant Gus Gus. =D
Sadly, this is Issy's final term, but soon, we shall meet my new charrie. Quote:

Annnnd....about the novels your writing, I don't supose you could tell us what there about them Not a problem! I quite enjoy questions! Yaaay!
Awwww, how sad! =[ I will admit that I have built and bought all my computers based on specs for The Sims. But sometimes, I do! I once created Sims based on the old House of Ravenclaw, from back in my first few terms playing. It was FUN!
MMMMM. As for my novels. The major one has a somewhat touchy subject, so I'll explain it the best I can. ;] Basically, as a punishment for their manner of death, people who commit certain sins of life are not sent to the afterlife, but to the Shadow Realm, where they are enlisted as Shadow Guardians. Shadow Guardians is split into three branches: Soul Snatchers, who work as the "Grim Reaper" and must collect the souls of those whose times are up; Death Dodgers, who must protect at-risk living souls, from un-timely deaths; and the yet unnamed branch who carry ghosts into the afterlife. That's a huge bulk of information, haha, but it should give you an idea of the series. :] You follow Georgie from the time of her death through the first book, in which she is a Soul Snatcher, and all the missions, and her growth through out.
The other two are simpler Young Adult novels. I haven't worked much on them yet, because my focus has been on the Shadow Guardians and its revisions. But, the other two novels include XO, about a girl who spends the summer with her family and the family of her childhood best friend, who teachers her about letting go of people and to stop juding the world and blah blah blah (it's still in formation, hahaha!). My other novel, Backwards Compatibility, is about a girl named Crickette, who is a little awkward, a bit socially backwards, and doesn't know well how to interact with people. Essentially, it's one of those coming-of-age stories, where girls have to learn to accept themselves as they are, but without the use of a boy. >o
I've got quite a few short stories, too, and one that might be a novella? @___@ Too many ideas in mind.
Thanks for asking, though! I love to talk about my writing. =D Quote:

You should tell me what you think of journalism! =D It can be a really time-consuming, soul-consuming field if you put your all into it, but it's incredibly rewarding, too. From the skills you pick up doing the job to what people think of you having done it? Yeah. You'll get a lot out of it. :]
And awwww But you didn't even know, yet, what it's about! xD But I would totally do my best to get you a special dedicated copy, too :O
EEEE POKEMON FANGIRLY SPAZZINESS?!
Okay, okay, okay. I fail at this question, actually, because I cannot choose a favorite. For the sake of sanity, I'll focus on the original 151 Pokemon. Hmmm.
I'm crazy fond of Dragonite, actually. And of course I love love love Pikachu. I tend to love normal-type Pokemon, for some reason. But I love Dragonite for his power, while still remaining cute. He totally wasn't overrated, either! In the video games, I always start with Charmander. Actually, for that matter, I love, love, LOVE fire Pokemon: Growlithe, Arcanine, Ponyta, Rapidash, Charmander. -wriggles- |

Your novels sound great! Especially the first one....I'm always looking for a book that's has a diffrent plot from what I've read which is hard to do when you read alot
Hmm...question,question, but what to ask?

Hopefully, by the summer, I'll have been able to complete my first novel. As for when it'll be revised... I donno. There's a lot of rewriting to be done; I need to work in a lot of scenes, maybe move a few around, flesh out a few ideas, and maybe tighten some tension. However, once I've got my novel complete and I have an agent, I'll be telling EVERYBODY about it. !<3 Quote:

If you could choose one author to have a conversation with (dead or alive) who would it be and why? Oh maaaaan, I know ALL about post-Sims depressions. D: I feel you there! At least your mother knows how to take things off her computer. My mother would never have figured that out. Silly mum of mine. xD
Oooh, look at all those signed copies, just flying off the shelves xD Teeheee. But no, I totally get what you mean. I was in the book section of Walmart the other day and realized just how little selection there was. Obviously, the same story and theme is going to get used often, but I like when authors can make it unique, better than anything else on the shelves. I suppose that is part of my driving force for Shadow Guardians. Right now, there isn't exactly anything like it, and it feels NICE to be fresh.
Oh boy, this is a hard question! I feel as if I should wax philosophical and go for someone GREAT, but I would like to sit down with one of my favorite authors, Sarah Dessen. In case you've not read any of her works, she does a lot of Young Adult stories that I'm crazy fond of and I feel that, of all authors I've read, she's the one I am most fond of for her inter-personal relationships in her novels and the manner she writes; I feel I relate a lot to that and that her style is one I, unconsciously, try to write it. :]
I love all these writer questions, whee! Quote:

As you know, I'm a huuuuge fan of tutorials, which is where I have picked up coloring techniques, or based techniques off of, as well as picked up other essential skills. Admittedly, partly, coloring and other such aesthetic aspects are in your eye: what looks good, what doesn't, what colors go together, what colors can combine to be eye-catching and not be too loud. This is sort of natural to us, though. We know that blinding red on white hurts the eyes and we know that bright, flashy colors are hard to read. But everything about graphic-work is all about practice. You test out various techniques, different layer styles, what looks good with what, what tools you're best at. And you just build from there. :] I've been using photoshop since I was about fifteen or sixteen, and seeing that I'm now twenty-one, you can see how many years have gone by to get me where I am.
But thank-you for the compliment. <3 |

Gosh. THIS QUESTION AGAIN? =P I wish I could give you a THE favorite, but alas, I fear I cannot. :/ I’m not big on single favorites as it is, and I like far too many manga for that matter. To try to narrow it even to one favorite character from each manga would be impossible. =P That’s like asking me to choose my favorite friend. Impossible. Quote:

Oooh...so...question...hmm...why Alice in Wonderland? What fascinates you most about it? Dragon Pokemon are cool. They’ve got power. I advise that you acquaint yourself, at least with the Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite evolution series. And rock on fire pokemon! They're my favorite, yes! Because I love talking Pokemon and journalism, if you want, we can so carry this on in the virtual messages. I’m way game to nerd out about both of those topics.
As for your second question, I don’t exactly have a straight answer for that. I suppose, in general, I just find Alice in Wonderland fascinating – the tale is wonderful and witty and the eclectic population of characters always interested me. Plus, there are quite a few really fantastic spin-offs of the story or other works based off it. Recently, SyFy made a show called Alice which I adored, partly for its psychological thriller aspect, partly for the fact that Andrew Lee Potts made me fall in love with Hatter. ;]
I guess, it’s suffice to say that I find the tale enthralling. Maybe it’s because I would greatly enjoy the ability to pass through my mirror into another completely different land. ;] Imagination is powerful, yes? =D |

Harry Potter is well-worth loving. Obviously, we're all here for such a reason aren't we? Quote:

The first is part of a future possible trilogy? Maybe just two books? Shadow Guardians: The Damned.
The second that I've got on the sideburner is called XO.
Also, there is Backwards Compatibility.
Plus there's all the short stories ;_______;
But you're super sweet! Hopefully, one day they'll publish, and then you can be all "I knew her when they were still in the works" Haha. Thanks for taking interest! Quote:

The Olympics begin this Friday. :]
And I ice skate! As a leisurely activity, but still. Quote:

Hai, Ashlie, I'd like to meet you (again) too!
First thing's first, I want a signed copy of that book too!
Okay, now on to my questions. What type of books do you like reading most? (Does that somewhat influence your writing?)

Hi Ashlie!
We share the same passion of writing!
I was wondering which type of writing do you enjoy more, journalistic or creative?
For myself, creative beats journalistic by a tad.
