Office of Professor Carton Upon entering Professor Carton’s office, it’s easy to see that the space is every bit as organized and practical as the man himself. The walls are painted a dark, non-distracting shade of gray, and a large bookshelf takes up most of the back wall. The bookshelf is home to many textbooks on transfiguration application and theory, as well as the odd novel or two. Ask nicely, and the professor might let you borrow one! A simple wooden desk sits in the middle of the room, complete with lots of drawers for quills, parchment, and other essential supplies. Behind the desk is a dark red leather chair where the professor can usually be found; two smaller chairs of the same color sit in front of the desk for visitors’ use. The top of the desk is mostly barren, except for a block calendar, silver inkwell, and two framed photos: one of Professor Carton with his late wife, the other of their daughter. The most interesting feature on the desk is undoubtedly the miniature vanishing cabinet. This model was built by Professor Carton himself and, like everything else in the office, is fully functional. It is linked with an identical model sitting on a small table outside the office. Should you wish to speak to Professor Carton, simply fill out the form below, place it in the vanishing cabinet model with the door closed, and knock on the office door. Please note that only forms, notes, and small gifts for the professor should be placed in the cabinet! Abuse of this privilege by transporting inappropriate items (e.g. rude notes, dungbombs, animals, etc.) will result in the cabinet’s removal. SPOILER!!: Form OOC: There is no waiting area for this thread. Please post your character knocking on Norman’s door, and we’ll be with you soon! ^_^ |
Here she was. For the second year in a row, standing outside of Professor Carton's office. Thanks to all her continued visits here last term due to the start of her Animagi training, this fifth year felt like a seasoned pro and wasn't at all nervous. Plus she already knew what to do upon arriving at the professors office. A quick little rummage of her bag found her pink quill and a small blank slip of parchment paper. Without any thought on it or hesitation, Bry filled out the needed info, folded up the bit of parchment and placed it into the small vanishing cabinet on the table beside the door. Name: Bryony Rose Paton Year: 5th House: Slytherin Reason for visit: For a chat about my continued Animagus training :) With that task finished, all she had to do now was... Wait. As always this was easier said than done and she ended up bouncing on her toes and humming a random tune quietly. |
omg I thought I replied here forever ago! Quote:
He rose from his chair and opened the door. “Hello, Miss Paton,” he greeted the girl with a small smile. “Take a seat, and we’ll get started. I know you’re eager to continue your training. “ He stood aside, holding the door open for her to enter the office. |
No worries! It happens sometimes :) Bryony ceased all bouncing and humming the moment the door opened, bright eyes meeting those of her Professors. "Hello, Professor Carton." Yes, she was! The excitement to keep moving forward in her training was immeasurable. "Thank you! I am, I am! I read that I could find over the summer." Which may have been a few books she had read before but anytime Bry came along something new, she had to read! With the brightest of smiles on her face, the fifth year stepped into the office and settled down onto one of the chairs. She was all ears! What did she have to do first?! |

Wasting no time, he took his seat in the larger chair on the opposite side of the desk and pulled out a folder from one of his desk drawers, a folder containing notes on the girl’s training so far. “You completed stage one of the training with flying colors,” he said, his bluish-green eyes peering over the top of the folder. “I have your grades from last term here. Your transfiguration grades meet the requirements for stage 2 animagus training, and it appears that your potions grade is up to snuff as well. You understand that you must keep your grades up and score an O on your OWLs in both subjects at the end of the term to continue. Before we go on, are there any areas in either subject in which you’re struggling?” Best to address those now so they wouldn’t become a problem later on! |
She couldn't help it! It was so hard not to be this way when she was getting closer to her goal. "It wasn't too difficult to do since my mum still has lots of information on the topic." Why her mum still had books and things about Animagi she didn't really know but it had come in handy! While Professor Carton reviewed his notes on her, Bry swing her legs back and forth beneath her seat. "That's what I was hoping to hear." This was something she was really work hard at. The blonde nodded her head. "Yup, I have lots of studying to do to make sure I manage that." This is where she would need Aryan's help to keep her on track with those gentle reminders he always gave her. That boyfriend of hers was above and beyond fantastic, she could never give him enough credit for putting up with her all the time. As for her struggling at all... Erm... Shifting slightly in her seat, chewing at her bottom lip as she thought, Bry really considered this question closely. "Focusing is always an issue. My mind is constantly racing with so many things and I have a hard time staying still.. which can cause some troubles..." Surely he had noticed her occasional fidgeting and Ary's nudges at her to keep her attention? Though!.. over the past several years this has gotten much better! She was even working hard to stay ahead of pace a little for those times when she couldn't quite get a spell right away. "Potions can take ages sometimes... And the longer more complicated ones can make me get a little turned around..." This happened from time to time when she wasn't particularly keen on working on a potion. But she was doing her very best because these subjects were important! "Transfiguring items into other items isn't too bad.. but transfiguring them into creatures can be a real struggle..." There was soooooo much that went into getting it perfect! |
