Sydney was ready to start filming when Professor Leroy explained the next steps. Thank goodness she didn't have the camera rolling yet! Not that she didn't thoroughly enjoy this lesson, but she didn't want background noise to mess up her short film. She stopped what she was doing, listening with rapt attention. For the record, she agreed 100% that color conversion was completely unnecessary. Most films, especially the older ones, looked better in black and white anyway. Come to think of it, she wasn't sure she wanted to use color conversion on her film at all, but she supposed there was no harm in at least trying the spell. Maybe it wouldn't make much difference since her drawings already were black and white prior to filming, and if it did, hopefully she'd be allowed to use the other spell to convert it back to black and white. She wrote down the spell information and resumed her work, carefully framing each shot so as not to accidentally film the table or her arm moving the drawings. It was a painstaking process setting up each shot, but she finally got her short filmed. Now all that was left to do was convert it, but first she decided to practice the incantation a bit. ”Co-loh-VA-ree-ah Po-lee-crow-mat-is,” she said quietly under her breath. ”Colorvaria Polychromatis, Colorvaria Polychromatis…” When she felt confident with the incantation, Sydney carefully removed her film reel and placed it in the tank up front. ”Colorvaria Polychromatis,” she cast, pointing her wand at the reel in the tank. The liquid bubbled up but didn't spill over like it did when Professor Leroy cast the spell. Did that mean she did it wrong? |
As the clock ticked over towards the end of the lesson, Professor Leroy grumbled a little that they didn’t get quite as far as he had hoped. It was fine, he expected the process to take longer but now he would have to account for several lessons instead of just the two. “We haven’t got much more time left. If you have finished with your films, bring them up and place them into the tanks. If not, you’ll have to finish them in your own time this evening and return them to me tomorrow morning.If you want to practice the spell you’ll have the opportunity to then. I’ll dry them all out in time for next lesson where we will be watching your movies on the television screen.” He waited momentarily for the stragglers to bring their work up to the front. “Thank you for your hard work today, you are all dismissed.” He finished, watching frustratedly as the earlier mess he had made was forming a stream down the center of the classroom. ooc: Thank you for joining us, we appreciate all your effort. They would be watching their movies on screen? Ary thought that it was a good idea up until he realised this would include his little project. He just didn’t think that his artworks were decent enough for his fellow students to cast their eyes upon. Oh well, the Slytherin would try not to die of embarrassment when the time came. Peering back at the developing liquid he saw, to his delight, the images he had filmed were showing. However, due to the colour of the liquid, he wasn’t sure if the spell had worked completely since that colour seemed to be obscuring some of the colours that the images would be in. In other words, the colours on the images may blend in with the colour of the liquid. It was just too bad the lesson was over but there would be another time for him to practise the other charm. “Need some help cleaning up, Professor?’’ Ary asked as he watched the mess wending its way through the classroom on his way to grab his belongings. |
