Hufflepuff Table https://s26.postimg.cc/ookwdev89/huf...ble-banner.jpg For those who belong in Hufflepuff House, in the middle of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Gold banners containing an embroidered black badger float above the polished table in honour of the loyal Helga Hufflepuff. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages. |
FIFTH YEAR. Where on earth had time gone? It seemed to have zoomed past without Jude's noticing. Then again, had he really noticed anything while he was tragically breaking his own heart? He should think not. He straightened his tie as he took up a place at the Hufflepuff table. He didn't even bother pushing his long, light brown hair from his face. Jude simply stared through the strands as he found Reagan waving frantically to him from the Gryffindor table. Jude knew his older sister really didn't need anything in particular, she just wanted him to know she was there. The boy waved back less enthusiastically; he just wasn't much of himself lately. His gaze briefly rested on the Ravenclaw table seeking Evan before moving to the Staff table. Let's see who the new professors were. |
Another term. How was September here again? Jordyn was strangely rather excited for the new school year. She never liked leaving home and her family, but she had a good feeling about this year. Things were going to happen for her and she didn’t mean crazy, weird Hogwarts things. Back in the Great Hall, Jordyn sort of sashayed over to the Hufflepuff table. Hmmm. It seemed that she was rather early for once. “Hey there housemate”, she said to the lone person at the table. It took every bit of self control not to launch into “Hey Jude, don’t make it bad”. The sixth year plopped down at the table and got comfortable. “What’s good Jude? How was your summer?” Jordyn gave her housemate a smile because he looked like he could use a bit of cheering up. |
Nyx skipped towards the middle of the Hufflepuff table. That's where she could get the best view with her head on a swivel. From here, she could hear what the staff has to say, converse with her fellow puffers, and listen in onto any drama coming from the other houses. Hehehe, all according to plan. The fifth year stuck her legs in the gap between the bench and the table, her palms flat on the table, supporting her upper torso. She glanced at the members nearby and flashed them a large, stretched, glimmering (albeit, unsettling) grin. "HELLO, EVERYONE!" |
Jasper was (surprisingly) diligent in getting to the Hufflepuff table today. Sometimes he took detours, but today he walked straight for the Hufflepuff table, walking right past Nyx, Jordyn, and Jude (sup nodding accordingly and sticking his hand out for fist bumps, as one does), before taking a PRIME seat all the way at the end of the table closest to the stage. Usually he'd stop to chat up his housemates or search for his friends at their respective tables, but today, he was a proud older brother and cousin. It'd be any minute now that Margaret Botros and Antonia Emerson would be called up for their sorting and Jasper Amir Botros would jump up from his seat, throw a fist into the air and cheer louder than anyone in the Great Hall. At the same time, he'd be checking to make sure there was enough room on the bench, should either of his family members be sorted into his house. And, because he didn't want to be rude, he chanced a glance down his house table, "Sup guys? Good summer?" That was for everyone. |
Seventh year, how on earth was it seventh year? Gemma was excited and just all around not sure about this final year. So much had happened in these seventh years, so much she had to figure out, learn, grow, and not just academics, but now it was the last year, the last of everything. The last time she'd come to a beginning term feast, the last time she'd look up at the staff table for the first time in a term and remember her first time looking up there, being annoyed with the blonde that sat up there, but now a different blonde was in the place she looked and she gave her auntie a wave. Turning her focused back on the table she gave a huge smile, "Alright lets get this thing started. Good summer everyone? What did you do, what did you enjoy, what are we going to kick start this term for the fun to begin?" She was ready for the fun, the friends, the chatter, she just was ready to not be sitting and waiting for food. |
His heart leapt when he spotted Evan. True to his word, Jude had told no one, not even his sisters, of what had transpired between him and Evan over the summer. Their friendship seemed to be surviving through all the happenings and Jude was doing his best to see that it continued in this way. For that reason, the Hufflepuff smiled a genuine smile and gave Evan a small wave. His observations of the new faces at the Staff Table were interrupted {was it really interrupted when he had already scoped out the newcomers?} by arriving Hufflepuffs. “Housemate,’’ the fifth year replied. His usually bright smile was dim this time around but that wasn’t your fault, Jordyn. “It was eventful to say the least. But tell me about you. Got all those OWLs?” Those teeth belonging to Nyx were hard to miss. Had she gotten her biters polished and was showing them off? “Careful there. You’re going to blind us with those perfect teeth. Also, hi, Nyx.” But was Jasper alright? Jude fist bumped the boy back, and was surprised when the fourth year went all the way to one end of the table. Maybe Jasper just wanted to be alone? Perhaps it was best Jude didn’t comment - oh. Jasper actually did want to talk to them. “Are you okay?” The question just popped out because…. you know… concerned friend here. Jude really did enjoy seeing others in good moods, and seeing Gemma this way was no different. “Hello, Gemma. Let’s see… eventful summer, there was a lot that involved theater on my end and some other... stuff…” That he didn’t want to talk about. “You took OWLs, didn’ you? Happy with your results?” |

Her third year was here. Keighley was ready for all that this term had to toss her way. Or so she hoped. Summer had been pretty much the same as all of the others in addition to spending even more time with her family, especially Jude, whenever she had been able to. Skipping through the Great Hall, Keigh headed straight for her house table as she normally did. Sliding down onto the bench on the other side of her brother. "I made it! Did you miss me? You always walk so fast when we get here and I lose sight of you.." There would be no need to panic now though, she was here. A bright smile was given to him and their cousin Lily as well. "Hi, Lily!" Cue some rather enthusiastic waving, not that it was needed since Lily was barely five feet away from her. Lets not forget that this little ray of sunshine here had to give the brightest smile to everyone else at the table as well. Hi, hello all her fellow Badgers! |
Daniel walked into the Great Hall without looking up from the book he was holding. He'd been reading it on the train ride to school, and he wasn't ready to put it down just yet. However, just because he was busy with reading did not imply he was unaware of his surroundings. He skillfully avoided bumping against other students and made his way to the Hufflepuff table with ease. Once he arrived, the fourth year dog-eared the page, placed the book on the wooden table and took a seat on the bench in front of it. "Yes. Hello. Greetings. Whatever" He leaned on his elbow as he looked toward the staff table, where he quickly noticed at least two new professors. He wondered which subjects they were hired for but not enough to ask any of the Hufflepuffs if they had some early information. |
Ah, Lily. One of Jude’s closer cousins. He liked seeing her so bubbly on a regular. “Hey, yourself.” Jude offered her a smile and moved to bump her shoulder with his. “Too occupied with other stuff,’’ he replied. “You know I certainly did none when we were all hanging out at the beach and the arcade. I had a great time, by the way. Thank you for that.” His eyebrows went up as he watched Lil’s cheeks go red as she spoke about other aspects of her summer. “Anything you want to spill?” he asked, leaning to whisper in her ear. Lily ALWAYS had interesting stories to share. A cousin on one side of him, a sister on the other. It was actually perfect, given the fact that Jude and his family members were so tight knit. “Sorry about that, Keigh.” Jude shifted a bit so he could lean against his younger sister’s shoulder. “I was distracted.” The boy was glad she had eventually made it to the Puff table sooner rather than later. Keighley had been his saving grace over the summer and he knew she would be at Hogwarts too. He was grateful to her for it. And he loved her a lot for it. Choosing to just listen to the chatter around him, chatter he would have happily joined in at any other time, so he instead leaned his head against Keigh’s shoulder and closed his eyes. Jude was not feeling his best right now. There wasn’t even enough energy for him to greet Daniel. Not that the fourth year would notice or care. |
Cailyn wasn’t really one to detour to the other tables, had there been anyone in particular that would have given her a reason to. Instead, she’d made her way over to the Hufflepuff table fairly straight away, with a brief glance at the Gryffindor table as she’d passed it. One of her two confusions was obviously not there, but that didn’t mean the other might not have arrived. The former being one thing she definitely wasn’t planning on telling Margaret about, not that anything had happened over the summer aside from embarrassing admissions. Even so, it appeared her dormmate wasn’t there yet anyhow, nor her twin brother, although Jordyn was there. It made things easier, even if she dreaded feeling awkward once they’d all made it back to the dorms. “Hi everyone,” she said, giving those at the table a smile, finding a seat amongst the group. Most of which had been there last term when her reading had been interrupted by an impromptu party. Jude, Lily, Keighley and Gemma, anyhow. Her current book of the moment was stowed away in her pocket, so no issues there. “Summer was good. As good as it can be when exam scores arrived in the middle of it,” she added with a laugh. And as good as summer could be when she’d made things awfully complicated for herself. It seemed as if there were a lot of new professors, too. Curious. |
Had she done well on owls, well Gemma was surprised on how well she did, but that was not just last term. "Yeah, I did well when I took them, so will you. Just don't stress out already about them. Try to have some fun and just relax a bit." She had NEWTS this year and instead of panicking she decided she was going to just have a good time for a bit, then she would panic later. She still really didn't have a clue what she wanted to do after school, but she knew it was something in writing. Her dad having a book store helped with that passion so much. "I got a kitten this summer." She really hadn't gone anywhere, but the kitten was excitement. She knew her furry new friend was wondering the corridors somewhere getting use to the castle. |
Jude wasn’t feeling any anxieties about his impending OWLs. Not yet at least. And he certainly had no plans in being the cranky person Reagan had been during her fifth year, and up until the point where her results had been delivered. His sister managed to pass all the subjects, by the way. It was needless to say that all her panicking and irritability had been for nothing. “Hey, Cailyn.” The fifth year noticed the absence of a book in her hands and figured she either had one stowed somewhere on her person or she had simply chosen to leave reading until later. “Happy with your results then?” Tips noted, Gemma! To have fun and relax, though now that he was in fifth year, Jude actually was now acutely aware of all the students who had taken the exams before him. Hmmm. Weird. Perhaps one of the only few topics that would perk his attention was the mention of a kitten. “What’s their name, Gemma? They need to meet Ned! He’ll be delighted to have more pals.” Ned too was wandering about somewhere in the Castle. |
Margaret was not interested in the feast. She'd followed her train companions in, sure, but she had not rushed and she made a point of sitting at the closest end of the table to the doors. She rested her chin on her palms and her elbows on the table, eyes nearly closed, while the new students were sorted. After tonight, she'd only have to sit through one sorting. But that didn't make her treasure it any more. Opened her eyes when Kazmi started speaking. Kazmi was the best professor, after all. She wasn't going to ignore his speech. She barely processed the new professors' names, though--she'd figure them out tomorrow. Off-limits area, though? She sat up straight at that. That was new. And...an a dance? Now that was something to look forward to!!!!!!! Margaret glanced around down along the Hufflepuff table, then over at the Gryffindor table. A DANCE. Surely some of her friends would be interested in that. It might actually make the whole term of doing classes worth it. |
Keighley heard the quiet chatter going on around them at their table. Talk of what others had done over the summer break. Gemma got herself a kitten, how absolutely precious was that! Maybe her own cat Kanga would become friends with the little kitten. Friends were nice. Yet rather that ask loads of questions like she normally would, Keigh kept silent. Feeling Jude's head rest upon her should, she leaned her own head against his lightly for a minute. She was very protective of her brother, not that he needed her protection at the moment. "Feeling okay?" He was acting so strange lately and she didn't like it one bit. Blue eyes turned towards the staff table when the Headmaster began his speech. An area was going to be off limits this year? And not just the forbidden forest. Well alrighty then. That was interesting. Not as interesting as a spring dance though! Keighley smiled brightly, giving her brother a little nudge. "Did you hear that? There's going to be a dance." Was he excited?! She was excited! |
