Food Trolley https://s26.postimg.cc/so0uni5cp/foo...ley-banner.jpg It goes without saying that everyone's favourite person in the train is the trolley lady. Old, plump, and just as sweet as the food she sells, she can provide you with the sugary delights you desire -- from Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans to Chocolate Frogs to Pumpkin Pasties, it is all there in her trolley! The woman comes around during the middle of the journey and is generally the cause for any traffic jams taking place in the corridor. |
Anyone :D She wasn't particularly hungry but knew that she would be starting another round of patrols on the train soon and knew she wouldn't be up for trying to find the trolley woman afterwards when she was literally right here. The train of thought was simple, grab some snacks now, then find an empty car somewhere later and get lost in a book. The only thing was, by the time she'd finally decided this, there was already something of a line forming. Neither here nor there about it, Jessa got to the back, her felines brushing against her legs in active demand for attention. They'd never been allowed to ride the train before while she...er....monitored their um....condition but after a second successful summer and a few successful run ins in the last term, Jessa Cambridge was now convinced that her undead babies could blend in with the best of them and not try to massacre anyone. It was a step up from the demon birds, she'd have to say, even if she did miss Galileo and Apollo. Thankfully she'd figured Archimedes and died and gotten him patched up in time for his debut as a "real" kneazle. |
So it was time to go back to school. Skyler was 13 and it was her third year and she was hungery. She wanted something to eat so she got in line. There was only ome student so far. Shd gave them a shy smile but didn't say anything. |
he's apologizing to both of your girls <3 G R O W L. Eamon's eyes shifted to his stomach as he appeared at the edge of the line, hands rushing to cover his stomach like that of a pregnant woman as if that would take back the noise that already occurred. His chin rose back up, sheepish smile there to meet it and anyone who's eyes were already on him. Heh. "M'orry" what? Was that even a word? He swallowed hard, cheeks getting redder by the moment and tried again. "Sorry," Eyes darting around in light embarrassment, they found something... wandering... and... fluffy? "I like your kneazles." |
You two! ^_^ Seeing no real problem with humouring them, Jessa reached down to scoop Archimedes off the floor and allowed him to nestle in her arms. She'd been about to reach for Tiberius to add him to the embrace when she caught the smile of the next student in line, one of the younger ones. Despite her own diminished inclination for smiles, Jessa returned the smile in polite gesture before again reaching down to collect the cat. That's when she heard the noise. Amidst the growing crowd for the trolley woman, she was positive she'd heard the sound of an actually rumbling stomach--which in truth shouldn't have been that surprising. If nothing else this is where she'd most likely hear such a thing but it still brought blue eyes searching for the source. Oh, that Hufflepuff. Rather than point out the obvious or make a light jab at his current predicament, Jessa found herself with a fuller smile at his compliment. Without knowing it, he'd just complimented the work she'd spent the greater part of the last two years on. "Thanks." She made them herself. Literally. "They're especially soft and Archimedes is friendly if you'd like to hold him." A further test of her undead babies' sociability. If she was going to have them walking the halls this term, she needed to be sure they really were alright. "You can have a feel of Tiberius if you'd like." She offered now to the younger girl. If they did accept, they'd notice how...exceptionally soft their fur was and that they were somewhat lighter than would normally be expected, but otherwise they looked and felt like real, live felines and she was very proud of that. |
SPOILER!!: Both of you ----- Skyler giggled at the boy's embarrassment. She didn't mean too, she thought, a slight blush on her own face. She then turned to the kneazles owner. She smiled a bit. "Oh-uh, okay. They won't bite right?" She asked reaching out a tentitive hand. |
Quote:
“You should be fine.” She replied, her voice level as she coaxed the cat into the younger girl’s arms. “He likes to be scratched behind the ear and as long as you don’t mishandle him, I don’t see him lashing out.” So far so good. The cat gave no protest to being handed over. “Have you got any pets who might be interested in a play date? Preferable ones that are bigger and less likely to be considered prey?” Serious question. Asking for a friend. |
Right, yeah. So uh, holding a cat. It wasn't that difficult, was it? Okay, perhaps he liked them best on the ground. Eamon knelt down, not finicky with petting a cat, and he was just about to do that when the younger girl asked a very good question. His hand was outstretched, almost close enough to reach the cat when his head jolted up to look at the- oh, bugger. "Head girl. You're the head girl?" Merlin. He sat up straighter, giving his shoulders a little wiggle as if that truly helped him straighten out. Oh, wait, so they were pet-able? And hold... able? Those weren't words, Eamon. His hand finally made contact with the other cat, first pausing to let it sniff him if it desired, but merlin he didn't want to stop petting it. So.... s o f t..... "I don't, not yet, but I know a guy who does." Wait. Did Derf have pets bigger than Picketta? He couldn't remember.... But it was more likely than not so. Shrug. |
My reply ---- Skyler smiled as she took the cat in her arms. She relaxed a bit when she had told her that. Okay. Okay. She tried scratching her cat behind her ear. Pets? "No. I don't think so. I mean, my older sister has a pigmey puff but...no. Sorry." Pigmey puffs were too tiny. |
With Tiberius in the Slytherin's hands, Archimedes was free to make himself comfortable in her own arms. There was probably nothing he liked better than having her arms to himself and she would indulge him for now. Blue eyes watched the cautious Hufflepuff. Of the two, he really had less to worry about, Archimedes, especially while wrapped up for snuggles, was the more docile of the undead pair. She thought to reassure him again...when he said that.... Instinctively, her own eyes sunk to the spot on her chest that now held the badge she'd put on at the start of her patrol. "Oh. Oh yeah. Something like that." The nonchalance in her voice was just that. Yes, she was Head girl. No, she didn't particularly care or think it made much difference. It was disappointing the pair didn't have any pets that qualified, but then one knew someone. "Yeah? I'd love if you could send 'em my way. I like to hope these two are social but there's no real knowing if they only ever hang out with each other." The kid was right to say no after mentioning the pygmy puff, even she knew that. "Something that size would find itself on the wrong side of their stomachs." And cutting it out after likely wasn't as option if either feline decidedly to thoroughly chew before swallowing. "I'm Jessa, by the way. Just so you don't spend the term calling me "Head Girl" every time we run into each other." It'd almost be enough to send a girl into hiding. |
Skyler nodded and stepped asside after ordering a few liquerise wands and a couple of chocolate frogs. Sbe stepped asside for other students to pass through "I'm Skyler," she said abd looled to the other one. |
Votes are in. Mark is at the Food Trolley. Hi Ya'll *Waves* This was an amazing experience This Train was pretty cool. Nothing was a disappointment to Mark once yet. So what better way to continue enjoying the Train than by getting some snacks and returning them to his compartment. Maybe there will be more compartment companions once he returns. He did say to keep the window to it open to see if that would entice more passersby to become occupants. Another tactic he considered was this food. If the window was open and he had the candy and snacks that would draw attention to the. He stood to the back of the line and his eyes widened in shock of two kneazles being passed around between older students. Mark thought that Animals had to remained caged. If Kneazles were allowed out surely he could let Tank loose from his confines. His pet always stayed attached him him whenever he was on the move so what was the harm? His head still tilted out and looking forward the young incoming first year had to say something. "Can I pet them?" He spoke up as well wanting to be included in the action at hand. |
Brother!!!! SPOILER!!: Mark Xaria couldn't help but roll her eyes at her younger brother as he of course stopped short at the trolley in front of them. "Mark, Jeeze keep going!" why was he stopping the snacks were forward and she needed to get her hands on a chocolate wand ASAP! Oh geeeze.. of course he'd stop for a kneazle. "you can have fun with that but don't cry when you get lost and can't find the compartment back" Even tho she also wanted to pet the kneazle too, any reason to break away from her pesky first year brother. "we need to change into robes soon too." her nice RED ones and her brother plain old black ones... Maybe hed her put in Hufflepuff and he'd have to wear pesky Yellow all the time? Heeeh he'd look just horrid in yellow.. you know... Just saying. She reached over and around her shorter brother and grabbed a chocolate wand and put her sickles in the lady's hand. "thank you!" she was happy now. She flipped her long black hair back behind her and smiled before ruffling Marks hair. "don't get too lost." |
For anyone and everyone ;) Lex had been too excited to eat her breakfast this morning, and her stomach was now begging her for something to eat. She'd save room for the feast later, but for now, she needed something to hold her over. Something sugary and delicious. Lex had a sweet tooth, and couldn't wait to get some food from the trolley. She waited patiently in line as she observed the other students around her. Some looked like new faces, others looked familiar, but all looked excited... and hungry. Some students in front of her looked to be passing around a couple of kneazles. How interesting. *GRRRRRRUMMMMBLE* Lex's hungry stomach made the loudest sound ever, and her silver eyes darted around awkwardly, trying to see if anyone had heard the noise. Her pale cheeks turned pink. She wrapped her arms across her belly, hoping to muffle the sound if it happened again. |
Hi~ and mention of Jessa as well ^^ Quote:
So after leaving his compartment at the front, Dorian had walked through the train corridor, mumbling apologises as he bumped in to others as the train swayed until he finally arrived at the trolley. Mweh, there was a line...of course there was. The fourth year stood behind a younger looking girl and looked ahead to see his fellow House mate, Jessa. He couldn't see it from here but he heard that she had become the new Head Girl and if that were true.... He grinned stupidly. Was it weird that he felt pride in their House having one of the leader of the leaders? That was awesome wasn't it?! His thoughts were interruped by a sound and the Ravenclaw looked at the girl nearest him "Well, i guess someone either forgot or neglected their breakfast this morning" he said with a light chuckle. |
Quote:
*GRRRRRRRRUMMMMMBLE* "There goes my stomach again," said Lex with an apologetic chuckle. By the sound of it, she could be hiding some kind of creature in her robes. But it was just her. The growth spurt over the summer certainly hadn't helped either. Her appetite had seemed to grow just as much as her legs and arms. She took a small step forwards in line as it moved along. She turned back to the Ravenclaw boy. "I'm Lex," she said between stomach rumbles. "D'you think it ever stops being exciting, going back to Hogwarts?" |
SPOILER!!: sister Enjoy that Chocolate Wand now, Xaria. For soon Mark will be tasting the sweet chocolaty deliciousness of winning! As he recalled she was displeased last term with being sorted in Gryffindor. Not Mark though Mark will get that one up on her. He'll get sorted in his Mum or Dad's old House. Yellow or Green will adorn his robes soon. Just you watch! |
Hanna felt slightly nauseous now. She'd eaten TOO many sweets. Perhaps her mother had been right in limiting the amount of sweets she was allowed to bring to Hogwarts, for this reason. So. Much. Sugar. Browsing the Food Trolley, she thought about what she'd like. "Mmm I want some chips," she said to herself. But perhaps a Pumpkin Pastie would do? With extra salt, to counter the sugar. |
Quote:
"I'm Dorian" he said and took a step closer to the trolley as well before looking back at Lex. "I hope there will be a chocolate frog left..." he said, vaguely wondering if the trolley had an magical endless supplies or not. "What are you getting?" So his thoughts earlier had been wrong about her being a first year because as she asked about if it ever not became excited to return to Hogwarts, Dorian stared for a couple of seconds. "For real?" he asked and then laughed. "Im sorry, its just, i did everything in my power to get away from Hogwarts" times like this, he hated being poor cause his family could not move to a different country. "Obviously that hadn't worked" he sighed and pointed at the trolley. "Its your turn to buy something" |
Lots of mentions Jessa nodded when the young girl offered up her own name in response, as likely to remember it as she was to forget it but she was used to the formalities when meeting up with relatively new people. The Ravenclaw kept a close eye on Tiberius, prepared to pull him away should he start acting up but the cat was on his best behaviour and she was honestly proud. The pride only grew when someone else asked to pet them. “Sure you can.” She said, gesturing him closer after she’d gotten all she needed from the trolley woman and handed over a few sickles. “He’s very soft. I’ve been working at getting their fur to feel this way for what feels like ages.” It was always the small things when it came to her experiments. The little modifications made the biggest difference for her. Her gaze moved from the kid to the older girl he was obviously in line with. Someone set in charge of him by the sound of it. Did she care the girl had simply asserted herself to the front? No. There was a lot she didn’t care about right now and planned to keep it that way for the sake of her anxiety. “No real way of getting lost. It’s one train and all cars are going to the same place.” Getting lost was unfortunately a rather difficult ordeal, she would know. And another grumbling stomach. This had Jessa looking around just in time to catch the grin on Dorian’s face. She did offer something of a smile in return but left him to his conversation with that Hufflepuff girl. Two for two on Hufflepuff with grumbling stomachs today. An interesting trend. |

A girl who was either talking to her... or to herself. Either way Pen answered her. "Wh-what kind of chips then?" Zach and Lainey always told her to TRY to make friends and talk to people... so why not now? It was harmless chatter with a fellow Hogwartian, yeah? |

Her face fell as he mentioned getting away from Hogwarts. "Really?" she asked, her silver eyes widening in concern. "Why didn't you want to come back?" As soon as she asked, she felt awkward about it. Maybe it was personal? And she barely knew this boy. "Er," she added, "I mean I suppose Hogwarts surely can't be for everybody. But I think it's great." Lex turned around sharply as Dorian pointed to the trolley. "Oh yes, of course!" she squeaked, jumping forward to the trolley filled with sweets. She smiled at the woman behind it, and quickly selected a chocolate frog, a few pumpkin pasties, and a package of jelly slugs. She thanked the trolley lady and handed her the money for her sweets. She looked back cheerfully at Dorian. "Your turn!" she said. |
Mark and Xar SPOILER!!: hey you two They were already going back? How was this already here? Chloe was not sure she was ready to go back and she had stayed close to Gunnar for the most part, but once on the train, she got brave enough to go find some friends. Looking around and smiling at people she recognized the blonde continued to walk around not sure where to go or where to sit. The best friend had to be somewhere. "XAR" Oh and there was Mark too, he was now at school. She felt a little sad knowing Morgan was now fully alone at home with Mark gone too. |
SPOILER!!: HELLO! If this madness was what Mark considered a line perhaps he needed to go back to primary school cos it was really just a giant organized gathering. "What line???"and she DID pay she saved money all summer for term. " don't be so weird Markeymark." last thing she needed was anyone realizing that he was in fact her little brother and just how strange he was. She sat in the back and survived last term just barely she dint need hm ruining her social status before she even really started to build it. "just......" and then the older one butted in about how he couldn't get lost on the train but she in fact did not know Mark... Mark got lost in their new house the first three days they lived there so naturally he WOULD be one to get lost on the train....."Just make it back... um would kill me if i lost you before i got you onto the boat" yes the boat... she secretly knew Mark would love that. He was a water lover."i'll get your robe down to----CHLOE!!!!!!!!" Just like that her brother was forgotten as she ran into her best friends arms. "i didnt see you on the platform i figured you and Gunnar must've gotten here early." Aunt Min and Uncle Ethan were always early or on time to everything unlike her parents they were ALWAYS "fashionably late" to just about everything. "Are you ready to go back?!?!" Xaria bounced on her heels, a totally different girl than the one who was just getting onto Mark just moments ago. |
Ashley <3 So far Zachary felt nothing for this whole transition he had been suddenly pushed to take part in. Maybe the school itself might be interesting but right now, he was missing Durmstrang. Dare say he was also missing Denica. And he hated it. This was why he was now roaming the corridors of the train, trying not to think and find ANYTHING to distract himself - and, thankfully, soon enough he found himself with the perfect distraction. Stopping by the food trolley, and despite knowing he would regret it tomorrow - the fifteen year old fished out some coins from his pocket and went over everything sweet available. |
More Mentions. Yikes It had gotten to be a bit of a gathering at the Food Trolley now hadn't it? Mark inched forward toward the older girl and held his arms out to take hold of one of her kneazles. He had never held a kneazle before but it couldn't be any different than a cat. "I'm not being weird." He retorted back to his sister. There was a line here. Xaria's vision was just terrible, she'd need glasses for sure. Trust him she'll know when he's being weird to make her life miserable at Hogwarts. Then he smiled. "Yeah see, it's impossible to get lost in a line. Unless another line intersected with this one and I then found myself in that line." but that would mean it was another train...and uh. That wouldn't be a good thing. He hadn't really gotten lost that time they moved into the new place. He just ended up down the wrong hallway one time but managed to find his way back. "I'm in the back cars." He said to calm any nerves Xaria was forming. He could tell now she was actually showing some concern toward him even if it was out of fear of how their Mum would react to her loosing him. "I think I have my robes with me so you do..." Oh Chloe showed up, and Xar's attention was shifted toward her best friend. "Hi Chloe" Mark waved to her and then turned his attention back to the older girl with the kneazles. Mark held his hands out once more to take one of her kneazles. "So you must use some expensive shampoos for them then, or some effective grooming technique you specialized?" He didn't want to assume, but that's why he asked. |

Moving up in the queue, Vita squeezed the button a bit tighter as she tried to recognize any of the sweets being sold. She didn't have much money to spend, so the wrong choice would be coins wasted and she couldn't have that. "Excuse me?" Her voice was soft as she tapped the boy in front of her lightly on the shoulder with her free hand. "Do you recommend any of these?" |
Skyler here! :). Been busy in RL, sorry! Skyler put the cat down as soon as she did that, more students started to arrive. She got out of the way after ordering her goodies. As everyone started to talk, almost at once, all the voices seemed to be too over whelming for her. She didn't notice as everyone seemed to be talking at once, sbe started t put her hands over her ears and crouch in a corner away from everyone as she began to shut down. Well, that happened |
Quote:
So when someone spoke from behind him, he leaned back onto them a little and carefully said: "I recommend ... everything" Not helpful, just a sugar junkie. |
Quote:
... ... ... "I'll take two of those, She announced after another moment, gesturing to the chocolate frogs. They seemed to be the safest choice and she was curious about the whole jumping aspect. Fishing around in her pocket, she produced what she hoped were the right coins and waited, shifting from one foot to the other and observing the boy again. |

Rather than think too much on it, Jessa focused on the kid’s question. Shampoo was one way to put it but, “No, it’s just my own brand of potion that does it. Gives everything a nice little kick, keeps everything in good vitality.” Vague but not a lie. Her potions were the only reason her babies didn’t look like the corpses they were—although she did have a theory on that, one she wanted to test out but not on these two....these two had come too far and she liked their progress. “I wanna say their diet helps too but it might be too big a conclusion to draw without ample evidence.” In all the new arrivals and conversations, Jessa hadn’t at first noticed the Slytherin girl moving away, but she caught sight of her crouched just a small ways off and fixed her with a curious look. Admittedly, it took her an extra second to decide whether to get involved, her mind actively wondering how willing it was to deal. But she probably had to, so with Archimedes still with the boy and Tiberius returned to her own hands, she moved over and crouched next to her. “What’s up?” Somethinf obviously, leaving the question of ‘are you alright?’ a bit redundant. |
SPOILER!!: Mark and Xar "Oh yeah we got here earlier and said our goodbyes and stuff. Gunnar is around here somewhere." She peered around maybe hoping to see him, though she knew he might be off looking for his friends. "Mom and dad left a little while ago so we could get settled in for the trip." Not that settling in mattered or anything. The twelve year old was on edge since the day had started. Giving Mark a little wave she watched him curiously, "What is he doing?" Little brothers were always up to something and Mark was one of the most up to something people she knew. Looking back to Xar she shrugged, "I don't know, I mean I guess so. I'm glad to see my friends and stuff, but after last term it's a little scary." She truly wasn't over what had happened last term and honestly she couldn't believe she even passed first year. She was going to try harder and practice more this term. She had promised herself to get better at spells and do even better in class. |
SPOILER!!: Jessa It took a while for Skyler to eventually 'wake up' ahe turned and had noticed the girl that was first here, Jessa she thinks? Skyler blinked a bit confused. How long has it been? Ooc:I'd say It's only been a couple of minutes |
