So thankful to be home, Emmalyn joyfully entered the girls dorms and flopped upon her bed. The feast had not gone as planned. She had pictured a grand celebration with all her friends, new and old, happily exchanging summer adventure stories and plans the for the new term. Sadly, Daisy had received the most horrible news and the festivities ended before they could start.

Determined to not let the nights events shape the rest of the term, she vowed to support her friend as much as possible, while still getting the most out of the year.

She gently unbound her hair from the tight bun it was in and ran her fingers though the long silky locks. The summer's sun had lightened her normally dark chocolate brown hair, giving it hints of caramel that the room's lights danced off of. She placed her head on her pillow and imagined herself doing what she loved most of all, playing quidditch for her house team.

Daisy entered her dormitory and got dressed in her pyjamas as quickly as she could. She hadn't had anything to eat at the feast which didn't bother her. All she wanted to do was cry herself to sleep and cope with any issues during her fourth year.

Lex entered her dormitory and took a deep breath, wondering what the year ahead would bring. The feast had been wonderful at first, full of excitement and cheerful faces. But then her friend Daisy had received devastating news, and the mood had changed quickly. Lex had been worried about her friend and had hardly eaten. Still, she didn't have much of an appetite.

After quickly looking around the room for her belongings, Lex sat down on the appropriate bed. She was glad that everything in here was so cozy. That would ensure a better night's sleep, which she would need before her first day of classes.

With that thought, Lex decided she might as well start getting herself ready for bed. She removed her shoes, changed quickly into her pajamas, and pulled her long, golden-blonde hair quickly into two braids. She slid into her bed, and sighed contentedly. It was so comfortable. Though she wasn't quite ready to sleep yet, she always enjoyed being warm and cozy.

It was already mid-October and she hand't yet felt settled back in. Her first year had been filled with so much new that her second year felt a bit flat. Gone were the feelings of amazement and wonder, only to be replaced with homework and worry. The events of the Dufftown weekend were still on her mind and she dreamed often of that day.

Taking a few moments to rest her mind, and body, between classes, she hopped on her bed and snuggled back against her pillows. The smells of fall were filling the air and the crisp days were fast approaching.
