Herbology Lesson I After spending much of the term on alternative uses for plants (while still covering the key points he needed to cover for each year), Paul thought they’d have a version of this today in CHILL form. Just showing some cool tips and different things they could do with plants and MAAAGIIIIIC. The play was coming along so well, and overall...he was much more relaxed this term and his mental health was better for it.

Herbology! One of her favourite subjects. Harriet beamed to herself as she wandered down to the greenhouses. She was excited to see what todays lesson would entail. This year was her stress free year, so she was really being able to enjoy the lessons more. Of course she was still studying a little, but it was less stressful than last year. So she was excited for the lesson. she hoped it would be interesting, and well, not boring obviously. "Hello Professor!" The beamed, greeting her head of house as she came to where was. She adored her head of house, so she was just feeling super interested in what today would entail. Then she headed to the pillows, and picked herself a yellow one, and plonked herself down. She shifted her bum a little, before making herself comfortable, and crossing her legs. Now, to wait for everyone to come and they could begin. Oooh. This was exciting! |
Zarina thought she could give herbology a try. I mean handling plants could be easy or extremely difficult. As she made her way to the greenhouses it was really quite cold. She bundled up with her scarf and gloves and could feel the winter air making her shiver. As she approached her classroom, she saw the foggy greenhouse and knew it was warm in there. Once she opened the door, she felt a blast of warm air. She smiled and prefered the warmth over the cold. She took off her layers and felt comfy in her school uniform. Zae saw another student was here and it was a hufflepuff. She nodded and gave a quick wave. She turned her attention to the board and saw he needed to sit on the pillows indian style? Hmm alrighty then. This slytherin said, "Hello Professor." She sat down on a purple pillow because she was biased with her favorite color. She sat indian style and waited further instructions. |
Herbology was one of those lessons he was still undecided about. Some of the theories behind different plants and their properties were interesting, but the practical stuff? Well, Max wasn't too keen on getting his hands dirty. There was nothing worse than dirt under your fingernails. He also wasn't a fan of... sitting on cushions on the floor. The fourth year sighed as he entered the greenhouse and took in the sight before him. "Professor Myers." Maxton gave the Head of Hufflepuff a nod in greeting before stepping over cushions, finding himself a place closer to the back of the greenhouse and sitting down cross-legged. |
Emmalyn entered Greenhouse one with a bright smile on her face. She had been looking forward to the lesson and hoped to continue to learn more about how plants could be used in magic. As she walked through the door, she noticed lots of fluffy pillows and the professor wiggling his rump on a purple one. Maybe he had poison ivy in a delicate area? She had learned at a very young age to stay away from anything that looked like poison ivy. She assumed a herbology professor would also know how itchy that could make you. "Hi professor!" Shrugging her shoulders, she grabbed a bright pink pillow and found an open area of the floor near the side of the room. She placed her bag, containing parchment, quill, and herbology book, down and flopped onto the comfy pillow. |
It seemed like the greenhouses were always a nice cozy place to be during the colder months. Had to be warm in here for the plants, you know. As always, Isa was excited for Herbology as she eagerly bounced into the greenhouse. ”Hello, Professor Myers!” The Hufflepuff quidditch captain smiled as she sat down cross-legged on a yellow cushion next to her team mate Hattie. Yellow was not only her house color, but it was also a very happy color in general. Isa liked yellow. ”Hi Hattie! How are you?” Look at that, they even had matching yellow cushions! Would they be learning more about uses for plants today? Isa took a special interest in that area of herbology, so the lessons this term had all been super interesting! Actually, she found all herbology lessons super interesting. Herbology was her favorite subject in general. Maybe by the time she was studying herbology more in depth in university and doing research of her own she’d be able to pick which areas of herbology she was most interested in learning more about. Oooh, they were doing breathing exercises today? How wonderful! Isa was very much into meditation and that sort of stuff. Isa took a big deep breath, mentally identifying as many types of plants in the greenhouse as she could. And a big breath out. This was good. |
"Hello Professor." Junia had been seeing a lot of the man lately considering her role in the play and she was happy things were going a lot smoother this time around. She was sure he was happy about this, too. Selecting a green cushion, the sixth year took a seat and got herself into position. Breathing exercises sounded okay to her. |
Herbology! This was something Natalie had been looking forward to. The herbology world had started to grow on her quite a bit lately so she was interested in learning more. She had been reading books on underwater plants, though, and considering they were in the greenhouses today, she assumed they wouldn't be learning about those. Nevertheless, she was still excited. Coming into the greenhouse, Natalie found an empty pillow near the front and wiggled her bum on it until she found OPTIMUM comfort. This was nice. Almost too nice... What if she fell asleep? |
She still wasn’t entirely a fan of Herbology, but the fact they hadn’t had to deal with mandrakes again lately had relaxed Stasya the tiniest bit when it came to the subject. Plus, she’d been seeing Professor Myers a whole lot more since she’d gotten a part in the play, even if she knew her part wasn’t nearly as big as some of the others. That didn’t matter to her. Not when she had everything else going on, between regular classes and her extra language classes and visiting the barns regularly. Either way, she’d been hopeful as she’d made her way over to Greenhouse One for the next lesson. She had no issue with finding out uses for plants. Maybe they’d learn about edible plants and she could experiment with her baking again. The woodlice cookies she’d made for Picketta hadn’t been that bad, after all and that had been ages ago. More possible experimentation would be fun, but class first. “Hi Professor Myers!,” she said, giving him a smile as she picked a pink cushion and moved it over close to where Junia was sitting. Giving the older Slytherin a smile as she sat down and sending Isa, Hattie and Natalie a wave, she tried to get comfortable. Breathing exercises were way easier when she was comfortable. |
Patrick walked in spotting Hattie, Emmalyn, and a few other familiar faces. He really wasn’t sure how he felt about herbology yet, but he sure did like Professor Meyer’s classes. Noticing the pillows on the ground he wondered what in the world they would be doing today. “Hello Professor, how are we doing today?” he asked as he walked closer to the pillows. Hearing that they were to sit down to work on breathing exercises he found a nice fluffy pillow and lowered himself to the ground. His growth spurt over the summer had made it a few inches further to the floor. He was hoping that he would be taller, but here he was still a shrimp compared to his brothers. His thoughts continued to run as he crossed his legs on the pillow and awaited further instructions. |
With the weather being as the middle of winter always proved to be, Cassie was bundled up against the chill as she stepped out of the safety of the castle to head to the greenhouses. Brrr. Thankfully as she approached Greenhouse 1, it was clear the professor was well prepared for the weather, a warmth permeating even outside the glass enclosed classroom. “Good day, Professor Myers,” she greeted the man as she entered the greenhouse, her eyes taking in the changes made to the space. No tables or stools…or plants covering as either this time around. Just cushions….the Ravenclaw taking claim of a green one off to one side. Cross-legged, she could do that, Cass settling herself down before shifting into the desired position. She could also do with the breathing…something, anything to keep herself calm. She found herself getting nervous and concerned or agitated at the oddest of times and reasons lately. 7th year was proving to be…interesting. |
"Hey Professor. We're having another one of those lessons again?" She commented casually as she made her way into the greenhouse and spotted the cushions laid out. Surprisingly, she didn't mind it this go around even if it was the clearest indication that they wouldn't be doing anything that she liked. The man had already set the tone for the year with his lessons. By now she didn't show up with expectations, instead she got her fill and satiated her curiosity outside of lessons. He was good on that, on facilitating her learning and she appreciated him for it. Jessa took a seat closer to the back for no other reasons besides it just being one of the closest. Were they doing more on plant use today? |
He had figured that Professor Myers would have the Greenhouse warmed up for them and he was happy to be proven right as stepped in, as he had left his coat in his dorm and made his way down with only his uniform and a warming charm on. He removed the charm and chose a cushion in the back, not caring what color it was. The color really wouldn't have an impact on his performance in the class anyway. Once he was settled, Ronan crossed his legs and sat up as straight as possible. He found that it helped with these kinds of exercises for some strange reason. "Hey, professor," he greeted, voice sounding slightly tired from everything going on recently. |
Daehyun... he'd come to Hogwarts only fully interested in magical ... remedies for when his curiosity got him bitten by something lethal. Right? "Hello, professor," he said with a nod as he stepped inside greenhouse one, before making himself comfortable on a blue cushion. He might be a lion, but his favourite colour still remained blue. |
Pbbbbbbbbb..... Herbology... Not Kye's favorite part of the day in all honesty. At least it was better than Care of Magical Creatures. This was a bit boring was all, at least plants weren't (usually) creepy. Kye walked down to the greenhouses, wishing she could just go curl up with a good book and take a nap. That sounded wonderful. She arrived and noticed the pillows were out. Ah, it was one of those days? She didn't mind that, but she was slightly worried she would fall asleep. "Hi Professor!" Kye greeted, a small wave to Professor Myers. She found a pillow, and plopped into it. |
Kirk was here after talking the walk towards the Greenhouses. He had no regrets to continuing his NEWT studies in this subject, it was good for his future career options.. and it keep one line of connection open as well. It was quite nippy this time of year, so entering into the warm Greenhouse was more than welcoming to him. "Hey Professor." He greeted before removing his scarf. It really was warm in here. Cross-legged, okay. Thankfully he didn't wear skinny-styled pants or this wouldn't be a very comfortable position. Kirk wondered what they would be doing today as he took a dark blue cushion to sit on. |
Plants! Rylee really enjoyed Herbology. Much more than she had thought she would honestly, even with her love of plant life. The young girl had just assumed it would be tougher to remember everything about all the different plants but that wasn't the case. Either way she liked these lessons and was sporting her usual bright smile as she entered the Greenhouse. "Hello, Professor Myers!" she greeted happily giving the older man a wave. Grabbing herself a very pretty light purple pillow she dropped it on an empty spot up close to the professor and plunked her bottom down on it wiggling all about to get extra comfortable before crossing her legs. Tugging off her hat and gloves she shoved them into her bag which was laid at her side on the floor. Which plants would they be working with today? |
Herbology was one of her least favorite subject. Plants and dirt were not her thing. And the weather was not really helping at all. She's pretty sure she's going to freeze before she reached the greenhouse but that didn't happen, thankfully. Well, at least it's warm inside the Greenhouse. "Hello, Professor." The redhead greeted the Herbology Professor and gave him a polite nod before she went to grab herself a pillow. She found herself a nice spot and crossed her legs. Breath in. Breath out |
Professor Meyers was still THE WORST, but Zoryn kind of liked when they started with breathing exercises. It meant that they got to waste time at the beginning of the lesson, which also meant that they didn't have to do as much work. That was pretty much the only good part about it 'cause otherwise they were pretty boring. And useless. And she had way better things to do with her time than practice her breathing. Why did anyone need to practice breathing anyway? SEE, useless. With all of this in mind, the Gryffindor entered the Greenhouse and immediately looked for some familiar faces. "Ryleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!" Her QUIDDITCH FAMILY. Also, hey paul. What's up? Aight aight aight okay okay okay. Zor dropped down on a plump pillow next to her reserve player and joined in on... y'know, the breathing stuff. |
by Isaaaa :D Honestly? Skylar had NO idea why she was bothering continuing with her NEWTs level in this subject. It was by far her LEAST favorite subject and least useful too, despite not having a clue as to her future, she at least knew it to not include Herbology. Also, her owl results had pretty much summed up well her dislike for the subject. But for some odd reason, play reasons perhaps, the sixth year found herself trudging along the crunchy, frozen ground to the greenhouses. Layered, of course, because she wasn't an idiot. Though when she entered the greenhouse, it was WARM. Like way too warm for all the layers she had on. Really, Professor Myers? This was how people got sick. Pulling off her out coat and scarf, she quietly observed for a moment who was there. Isa, perfect! She needed to talk to the Hufflepuff Captain; give her some INSIDE SCOOP on how to crush the Gryffindor team in their upcoming match. Because if she couldn't win, yes, she was going to be supporting Hufflepuff - Parental and Friend Loyalty Blue pillow collected, she beamed at the Professor. "Hello Professor M!" and plopped down right by the fifth year to discuss walking back to the castle with her. Because it was super important. Also, breathing exercises? Were they doing YOGA? IS THAT WHY they were sitting on the floor? Skylar MIGHT be down for YOGA; oh! Maybe it was a PLANT-TYPE Yoga, where you had to assume positions of the plant. Yup, she'd be so down for that. |
Another day, another class of Herobology for Théodore to disappoint in. The only thing good so far is the class was warm compared to the walk it took to get here. Théo took a look around as he was entering and well. A little different. Kind of looked like they were going to do some yoga today which considering it was Professor Paul made a whole lot of sense. "Hey Professor Paul" He took a random pillow which so happened to be pink and sat crossed legged. Why were they doing yoga he has no idea but he was just going to go with it since it was better than lecture and notes. |
Okay Herbology… So far this term had been less than interesting mostly. Not that she didn’t mind learning about alternative plant uses. She did. But she also liked the traditional Herbology lesson. The fourth year headed into greenhouse one. ”Hello, Professor Myers.” Sees that he has a purple pillow. Yep she was totally eyeing the purple pillow. ”Do you like purple too, professor?” There better be another purple pillow left. Or He might be sitting on the floor without a pillow. Yeah probably not. Juni grabbed a purple pillow the last one to be exact. You were just lucky there professor Myers you were. She tossed the pillow on the floor at a random spot in near the back, plopped down on the pillow and crossed her legs. |
(Stasya, Myers) Herbology, you say?! Well, Olivia Lynn Phillips NEVER missed one of those lessons. Even with so much going on lately, Herbology remained a staple in her Hogwarts career. Professor Paul was more like a friend, than a teacher. Definitely one of her most important mentors... Seriously, the blonde loved this man. In fact, upon be-bopping her want into Greenhouse One, appropriately bundled up for the January cold, Olivia found herself utterly delighted to see cushions. They were... doing breathing exercises? LIKE YOGA?! Beaming at one of her favorites ever, she quickly did as was instructed, selecting one of the cleaner pillows (that was colored golden) to sit on.... Look, she was still very much a princess, and couldn't help herself at time. This was just one those times. Prissy-Missy alert. "Professor Myers!" This was happily exclaimed as she went about getting comfy (near Stasya, of course). "I wanted to speak to you about....helping you with costume things." Olivia had been meaning to take a trip to his "office", but NEWT study was owning her at the moment. On top of quidditch practices and learning her lines.. Her time was frustratingly limited. "If you needed an extra hand, of course." |
It was nice to be back in Herbology, although a bit bittersweet. Every class was one class closer to saying goodbye to one of the only really smart and dedicated professors at Hogwarts. At least insofar as Katy was concerned, since he'd been around since she was BORN practically. "Good day, Professor. I hope you're having a good day." She took her seat and settled into her pillow comfortably. Her Pilates practice set her up well for meditation, although there was a bit more noise and activity than was helpful for proper meditation. Breathing, though, Katy was a pro at breathing. |
Daisy walked into the greenhouse and waved at her head of Hufflepuff house. "Hello there, Professor!" She found herself a black pillow and made herself comfortable. |
