The Wooden Bridge Also known as the Covered Bridge, the Wooden Bridge appears derelict, connecting from the Courtyard. The appearance has been kept dated due to the natural environment surrounding it, despite attempts to improve it. Though the floor occasionally creaks beneath your feet, that is just for the effect as you can look out into the horizon from here safely. |
For Dora. Bored out of his mind.....Finally. Torrance made his way down to the Grounds of Hogwarts. He couldn't think of much anything to do today except perhaps wander the grounds until something excited happened around him. He marched his way to the wooden bridge but stopped halfway across it. The young Lion looked out at the Horizon and suddenly thought of flying began to whirl through his head once more. He imagined himself stepping up onto the top of the covered bridge and extending his arms out. He would close his eyes here for a brief moment before opening them once more. Then he would drop...but it wouldn't be a drop it would be more like a dive. His arms still extended out until he would swoop upwards and begin gliding across the sky. He would feel the wind beating against his face the bugs getting tangled in his hair as he continued to soar into the sunset. But these were only thoughts. his gaze went down to the valley below him and he leaned out of the bridge slightly. Then he just spat down the side of it and watched his saliva fall. |

Having been lost in thought she wasn't quite paying attention to where she had wandered to... until she stopped and looked around a bit. Heh. The wooden bridge! AND TORRANCE! And he was spitting. Hehe. "TORRANCE!" Could she spit with him? She liked spitting to be honest. |

Something more like a Lizard maybe? He laughed silently to himself with more of a huffy laugh then an outright outburst or he'd loos this awesome wad. Then he leaned out once more and was about to let out the great spit wad ever when something yelled his name. It took him by total surprise! His spit left his mouth but it didn't go down to the valley below them it. flunng from his lower lip then just drooled down his chin! "NO!!" He yelled in defeat. He turned and spotted that it was Dora who had ruined his greatest achievement for the day. Now he'd have to do so all over again. "He wiped at the drool from his chin with his robe's sleeve. "Hey Dora." he replied with slight disappointment. |
Sarah/Kat With his guitar in hand the second year Hufflepuff made his way to the grounds. He looked around as he walked by different places of the castle. He just wanted to explore and play his music right now but he didn't know where he should go. As the Scottish boy was walking down to the ground he made his way to the wooden bridge. It didn't see as busy as it was this time last year. This is where he met Azura because she was afraid of crossing the bridge. The bridge was fine and he knew that it was just her fear that was stopping her. Brady moved towards the side of the bridge and looked out at the view. It was a really pretty view. |

"BRADY!!!!!" She ran to him and tickled him. Hi best friend. They were still best friends, right? She couldn't tell anymore. They have had lots of fights since last term, during their first year. Things were different with them now, but they were also the same too. I was just to complication now to be honestly, sadly this was the way Kat felt but she also didn't like it either they needed to work it out or something. |

The second year had a lot of thoughts running through his head. One was of his letters with Azura the other night. He just couldn't wrap his head around her friends not being supportive of her and what she was going through right now. The other thoughts were of Kat and what was going on with and her new best friend. They were in the same common room but Brady felt as if he never saw her anymore. |
For Felixir/Daxton The wooden bridge was unique in its ability to make even quiet contemplation a thrill. Probably because of the way it looked like it would fall apart at any moment. Hadley was always somewhat disappointed it wasn't rickety and didn't feel like it was as close to collapsing as it looked every time she was on it. But still, the appearance alone was enough to fool the brain into not being sure if it should be panicking or not. It also was sparking her thirteen year old imagination as if there was no tomorrow. Probably because her brain wasn't sure if there was a tomorrow or not. The reason didn't matter much. She was happy for the inspiration the bridge was giving her and was currently filling up a third bridge with ideas for pranks and mischief and new charm ideas she really should talk to Professor Primeaux and get his help trying to make them a reality. At the moment though, she was letting an idea percolate a bit. Her quill was resting in her inkwell on the banister next to where she was leaning. It was one of the few moments that Hadley could be found still and calm in her life. Being outside, with nature all around them, a castle to her right and literal magic in the air, it finally hit her where she was. What Hogwarts was. All of it. It only took a year. |

Reaching his usual place on the bridge, Daxton stood where he was and turned to lean his back against one of the wooden posts, keeping an eye on the Denaker girl a little ways away and on the opposite side. H set his bag down on the wooden floor beside him with an almost hollow sounding 'thunk', whilst the contents of the bag gave a curious rustling sound. Glancing once more at Hadley Denaker, then directing his gaze away at the view over the riveen (though apparently remarkably unaffected by it), Daxton wound the strap of his bag around one of his wrists (lest anyone run past and try to steal it) and shoved his hands into his pockets. Truly, he would rather be inside somewhere, reading - perhaps in the library - but as yet he had no argument for abandoning business, even for one day. Daxton often decided against reading out in the open, reasoning that it gave anyone the perfect opportunity to send a hex or a curse his way, should they feel so inclined (and many probably did) and so would likely spend the next hour or so occupied only with his thoughts, and perhaps a customer or two looking to buy some sweets from him. |
For Pat! The castle was far too crowded for the stressed out seventh year's liking so she packed her bag with supplies and headed out, no real destination in mind. The cold air that stung her cheeks promised of winter weather to come and Maddie wished she'd remembered a scarf. What she wouldn't give for summer days in Greece with Kyroh right now... The creaking underfoot alerted her to the fact she'd made it as far as the wooden bridge and the partially enclosed space offered just enough shelter from the wind to be comfortable so setting her bag down, the Ravenclaw made herself at home. She hadn't even packed study materials this time. No, she was set on enjoying the peace and quiet for a while. |
Quote:
She studied the boy, trying to figure him out a little. He would be a tough one to crack, but Hadley preferred not to have him hate her. It's partially why she hadn't really interacted with him until now. Having the Ravenclawest Ravenclaws hate her for being her was one thing, but also having the other Ravenclaw troublemaker also hate her would kinda be the final proverbial straw. That and she might want his help with a prank or two someday. "So just here to enjoy the scenery or...?" |
Miranda walked down to the bridge. She had wanted to walk down here for quite some time. She had always been able to gather her thoughts while walking. |
Quote:
Why he was even outside he didn't know, but here he was, walking the grounds in a great big huff. He walked with his hands shoved deep into his pockets and shoulders hunched until he came across someone sitting on the bridge. He stopped right in front of her and gave the most confused looks. "You lost too?" |
Quote:
"No." Maddie looked up at the boy, eyebrows raised. Had she been lost, she wouldn't have been sitting on a bridge out in the cold. She'd have been searching until she found the location she was seeking out. She quite liked it, being somewhere unfamiliar. The being lost was a challenge, rather than an inconvenience. "I'm just getting some fresh air. You're lost, though." Apparently. "Which implies you can't find your way to somewhere. Where are you trying to go?" |
Quote:
She was running toward Brady, but stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed the frown. She slowly walked over to him now. She sat down close beside him, and nudged his side. "Hi" was all the blonde could manage to get out without her voice completely breaking up on her. She hated this, it was like their friendship had completely gone downhill since last term when they started Hogwarts. They fought, Brady was clearly jealous, and she couldn't deal with it any more. "Brady.... I think we need to talk." her voice was cracking now. She looked at him, with a serious out pf on her face, They needed to figure somethings out or something. |
Quote:
But because he was curious. "Where exactly are we now? Since you're not lost." She should know these things. |

Gaze still firmly fixed on him, the seventh year decided he was probably around her age. She'd never seen him before now so he wasn't a claw, that was clear too. "The wooden bridge." Obviously. "The clock tower courtyard is back that way and will bring you back to the castle." She motioned with her head in the direction she was indicating. "There's a little gazebo the other way." "You're a transfer?" |
Mj..... Leaving the library in the care off some trustworthy seventh year students, Leo packed his fishing gear and some food and drink into a satchel and headed out of the castle, with one clear destination in mind; the wooden bridge. He welcomed the cold November air that pinched his cheeks into a pink tone as he walked down the familiar path from the castle. The refreshing late fall air would help clear his head. Leo had far too many thoughts circling around in his head at the moment with eagle students breaking rules, a worried Cassie at home, as well as the recurring trouble with the restricted section. Steeping out onto the wooden bridge Leo chose a random spot on the peacefully quiet and empty bridge where a window was cracked and dug his fishing pole out of his satchel. Tossing the line out and down into the lake water below the librarian looked forward to some time alone with just his thoughts and his fishing pole. |

Bradson looked out in the distance as he heard Kat sit next to him. He didn't want their friendship to end but he also didn't want to hear his best friend talking about how cool some guy is and now he's probably cooler than he is. Brady felt like he didn't even matter to his best friend anymore, after the whole thing with the hag last year he could tell that things between them were going downhill. He wanted to talk to Kat about all the problems he had and what he had gone through after the event with the hag but he couldn't tell her. |

So he stayed where he was, standing and leaning against the post and keeping an eye out for anyone who might approach, secure in the knowledge that nobody could sneak up on him, and that he could notice any incoming curses or hexes with plenty of time to duck. Daxton made sure to keep an eye on Hadley Denaker too, purely because she was there, and at her question he glanced towards her, and gave a single nod. No point denying his name - everyone seemed to know who he was these days. Even when he looked away again, Daxton could still feel her eyes on him, could see her staring his way right at the very edge of his vision. His wand hand tensed automatically, despite said wand being next to no help whatsoever, and when the next words came, he looked back at Hadley Denaker at once. The answer to that was simple. Without a moment's hesitation, he nudged his schoolbag open with his foot, showing the contents: a multitude of sweets from both the normal and magical world. Letting it close again, Daxton pulled his notebook from his pocket and flipped it open, taking a moment to look for a particular page. Finding it, he held it up for the Denaker girl to read. 'Business.' Selling the sweets in his bag, to be specific, though Daxton thought that much was obvious. |

Even if it was a bit on the cold side, he decided to take the scenic route back once he had tucked a few samples into his satchel, and he found himself walking over the covered bridge. There were relatively few students there and he walked past them with ease, nodding a greeting as he did. Spotting Leo about halfway down, Ansley slowed his pace and took a place next to the librarian. "Hi, Leo, how are things?" Might as well engage in a little friendly conversation since he had a little free time anyway. |
Quote:
Leo had just reeled his fishing pole in and was debating to drink a cup of coffee when Ansley came over and joined him by the window. Smiling at his colleague he said "Hello Ansley, things are okay, better now that I could get out of the castle and breath some fresh air. Makes me stop worrying for a bit. How are things with you?" |
Quote:
"Yeah." Echo's eyes turned back to her. Taking a proper look at her and all that she'd settled down with. "What are you doing?" |
Quote:
"Fresh air is good every once in a while." Ansley could appreciate that too. Even though he didn't care much for the cold, he didn't really like being cooped up inside for very long periods of time either. "Oh, things are fine. Just getting a little fresh air for myself.." Although it was probably better said that he did have a more purposeful reason for being out. "What's got you troubled?" He supposed that fishing would be a good distraction, even if it was nothing he'd be all that interested in doing. |
For Liz/Torie! Azura was wandering, she had been doing that lately.. She got so lost in her thoughts that she just started to walk and really wasn't aware of where she ended up! This was one of those occasions. She looked up and found herself in the middle of the wooden bridge! Eeek! How did she get here? She remembered wanting to walk down to the lake. She bit her lip and started to walk slowly across the bridge.. not daring to look down.. this thing still scared her! |
