Seating Area Outside Professor Hirsch's Office Just outside of the office sits a small area just for the people who want to see the Defence Professor. This seating area contains hues that match the ones found in the office itself. Comfortable orange and teal sofas are dotted around a table that contain a few magazines about the latest defensive theories and spells. |
The defense professor whose name Paul could NOT recall for the LIFE of him. He felt reaaaaaaaally bad, but he was here to welcome the man and FIX the problem! The fellow had seemed nice enough at the feast--but that feast was so chaotic and whatnot, Paul wondered how the new professors were all fairing? Were they regretting their life decisions? Nahhhh. Paul was sure some flying food wasn't enough to scare anyone away from Hogwarts. Holding onto the carefully chose plant tightly, he knocked on the door, and he waited. The style of this man, so far, was impressive. |

Luckily for Paul, the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor was currently inside his office. He was leaning back on his chair with his legs propped up on the table, a book on the subject he taught in his hands. His wand was being twirled around his fingers in the same way that a drummer would twirl drumsticks around their fingers. While it could be distracting to some, the man found that this was helping him concentrate on the text and not get distracted by- Oh? A visitor? Before he said anything, Roderik's eyes flew towards the time. If it was too early, he would have insisted on a cup of coffee but since it wasn't (sigh) so... "Come in!" OOC: HAI Kate you can post in the office now ^^ |
Q: How can I be faster than Kate at posting in offices? Hehe Well this place was certainly different from last term. David let out a bit of a mum-like sniff as he walked up to the Professor's office. This waiting area certainly wasn't as impressive as Dakest's office. No fire. No camp-like gear. It just... was. Plain. Tidy. Modern. With contrasting colors. Hmm. He was judging the man already. BUT ALSO, because he had questions and required answers, he had his backpack on and was attempting to keep all judgments silent and in repose as mere hypotheses until proven otherwise. Yes. With that in mind, he raised his hand and knocked lightly on the door. Three knocks. Three knocks only. Then Davie took a seat on an orange chair. |
A: She cannot be beaten sorry RoRo the force is too strong with this one Quote:
There was a little pause in which the man simply stared at the door, as if he expected to see who was on the other side. All kinds of thoughts were flying around his head but, eventually, he stopped making notes, sat up a little and called, "Come in!" Please don't let it be the hag, please don't let it be the hag... OOC: HAI RORO you can post in the office thread now wheeeee ^^ |
Right, she was visiting the new DADA professor. Something that Ava Burton had never done before, but this was the new DADA guy that (most girls said) that he was very damn good-looking. Well, her first impression was, he looked like a criminal in muggle television show because he had large tattoos on his arms (though Dima had one too, but it's just a small one unlike this man.) Knock knock knock... "Hello, Professor tattooed-man, are you there?" |
Quote:
But as it was, he couldn't read minds. What he could read were the lesson notes he'd made, even if they were in a really messy half-English, half-German scrawl. The man hadn't even managed to place the cup of coffee to his lips when the knock came. Using this as an excuse to, well, do nothing, Roderik sat back in his seat and called, "Come in!" And a sip of the coffee was taken. Pure and utter bliss. OOC: HAI Raven you can post in the office thread now ^^ |
Well, she hadn't been down here in.. Actually, when was the last time she had been down here? Despite the fact that this wing was only one floor beneath her own, Tiara just didn't have much reason to be here. But now, it was time to find out if this Hirsch man knew his stuff. Or actually.. maybe not. There were a LOT of voices issuing from that room right now, with extra people waiting outside. It was a good thing she happened to have parchment and quill with her. The professor wrote a short message on it, folded it up, and sent it flying into the office with a wave of her wand. |
Well he had yet to visit all the Professor's but he was making his way. Next up was the DADA Professor since you know Dante actually liked the class and thought Dakest was an awesome Professor. He did start a dueling club after all. Anyway Dante walked up to his door and knocked twice. Who knew if the dude was napping or something. You never know! He took a seat and flipped through one of the magazines. Huh, pretty interesting stuff actually. |

As it was, the man had been taking a jog outside in the crisp, autumn air. Being cooped up in an office for so long was only going to drive him crazy and the grounds seemed so inviting. He had, however, made sure to keep as far away from the Hag's smelly tent as possible. Merlin only knows what kind of crazy, out-of-this-world predictions she was likely to come up with next. With an apple in his hands, Roderik was just making his way back towards his office to get back to some marking when his eyes fell on...... a kid. Well, not a kid, but one who looked older than the others he had had a visit from. Curious, the man took a detour and, silently, flopped down onto the seat next to the boy, trying to take a glance at whatever it was he was so absorbed in. "Reading anything interesting?" Munch munch. |
so smooth XD Quote:
"You should get better reading material. Maybe more stuff on the dark arts and less on gnomes and doxies. Just a friendly suggestion" Dante said smiling and turning to look at him. "Hello Professor" |
that's how we roll *sunglasses emoji* Quote:
Roderik knew what he would rather teach, that was for sure. Oh, a smile! Wasn't that nice? "Hey! C'mon, there's better seating in my office. And you can tell me all about the dark arts you want to learn about," he said, getting up and heading over to the office to unlock it. You know, if the boy wanted to talk to him rather than sitting in a seating area all day. OOC: HAI Erik Gifmaster Swanson, you can post in the office thread now if you want ^^ |
<3 This meeting was perhaps long over due, though it wasn't really out of necessity that he was coming. Whatever the professor's response would be to his request, it didn't much matter. He'd make it work either way. After all, he'd managed just fine before Sabel came along, and would continue to manage and excel until his time here was done. No, he was also here because he was curious about the man. He didn't much care about what the female population of Hogwarts saw in him, but he had other merits. Arriving in the waiting area, Zeke knocked on the door to the Professor's office and stepped back. He didn't fancy taking a seat, he was fine on his feet... for now. |

But as it was, the man was sitting inside his office, slowly dying at the marking he was meant to be doing. Maybe it was because of this that, when he heard that knock, Roderik was more than happy to put down his quill, slide the pieces of parchment off to one side and sit up a little. Procrastination? What procrastination? "Come in!" OOC: HAI Anita! You can post in the office thread now ^^ |
Professor Hirsch! MANGIG WAS SO EXCITED OKAY. He always loved when he got to deliver things - he didn't always get to deliver as much as the other owls because he was so small and the packages sometimes were SUPER BIG so he usually just got letters but THIS TIME HE HAD A PACKAGE. So he was GOING TO DELIVER THIS STUFF SO WELL and everyone would be proud of him!! Something he couldn't do very well though - opening doors. He KNEW this was where his delivery hooman was but there was a DOOR in the WAY. "HOOOOO! Hooo. Hooooo? HOOOOOOOO!!" We have something for you, hooman! Come and get it! Text Cut: delivery |

Roderik, who had been busy When curiosity had gotten the better of him, he finally stood up and went to what exactly was going on, only to be met by an owl. Yep, a small and rather excitable owl who seemed to have bigger owl!lungs than it can fit in its body. "Alright, alright, alright, you're going to have to calm down so that I can take this, okay?" Because the sound of the hooting was starting to give hm a headache and he didn't think he had enough coffee for that. As soon as he had the chance, Hirsch took the letter and read through that first. The only thing familiar about the letter was the sender's name, who had earned themselves a smirk just at the mention of it. Everything else was about as clear as teenagers were: i.e. not very. Oil? Constant vigilance? Was she threatening him? Surely not after what their previous encounter was like, right? With no hint in the letter, he proceeded to grab the package and shake it but no suck luck. Nothing was going to give him a clue as to what was inside so, there was only one thing left to do. He opened the package. And approximately 2 seconds later, he regretted that decision. With a BOOF!, the contents of the package burst open and flew all over him whether he like it or not. There was no way he could have stoped it or defended himself in any way. It just sort of......... happened. And it was in that very moment that he went from Roderik Hirsch: DADA Professor to Roderik Hirsch: Glitter Man. What was that about constant vigilance? |
<3 Lauren enabled me, dude. Paul had done his rounds of the school. Clapping his wooden spoon on the pot he was carrying....wearing a colander on his head, oven mitts on his hand...he was in the mood to make MUSIC. But not...with his banjo. With...things. THINGS. KITCHEN UTENSILS. It was fun times. Did he care if people thought he was a loon? NOPE. He thought, perhaps, most people already thought this about him anyways! As he passed Hirsch's office... He heard what sounded like a very...tiny...little explosion? Nothing dangerous! But Paul was a curious man, and so he banged his pot the whole way into Hirsch's office, singing loudly, off-key. And then, he stopped at the sight of his fellow. And... He laughed. He laughed very very hard. And then, he brushed some of the glitter off the man's shoulder....and....bellowed, "HIIIIRSCH THE GLITTTTTTER MAN--HE'S SUCH A GLITTER LOOOOOOOVER--PROFESSOR BY DAY, GLITTER MAN BY NIIIIIIIGHT--" If Hirsch wasn't confused enough, Paul's obnoxious singing might throw him off balance. |
Mortified. Roderik Hirsch was mortified! So much so, that he hardly registered the sound of the kitchen utensils being banged getting closer and closer. To him, all that mattered was that he had glitter everywhere and the last thing he needed was for someone to come and see him like- Groan. The man huffed, letting out a small puff of glitter that had somehow gotten on his lips. His eyes then went towards the professor and....... he paused. Uh. What was Paul wearing?! Why did he have a colander on his head and oven mitts on his hands? Was this even considered normal over here? But then again, this was Paul Myers. Maybe this was normal for the man who'd brought a banjo to a feast. Glitter Lover?! Cue another groan from the man. To make it worse, he was practically belting this for everyone to hear, meaning that if people did hear what was going on, he wasn't going to live it down anytime soon, thanks to Myers and those darned kitchen utensils. "If you turn that into a record, I want at least half of your earnings," he grumbled, wiping some glitter from his face before looking at the Herbology Professor properly, "Help me? Before any of the students see?" |
Poor poor Roderik. Paul felt for him, almost. Then again, Paul kind of liked glitter a liiiiittle bit. It made things quite festive, didn't it? He chortled to himself and gave his wand a little flourish, clearing all of the glitter away. "There. All gone. You're spared immense embarrassment now, sir," he winked and quickly CLANGED his spoon on his pot. "So...who the heck sent you a glitterbomb? On...Valentine's day?" he asked, wiggling his eyebrows. Did the man have a....person?! Paul was curious, and he couldn't help the smirk on his face. "And I will certainly give you half the profits off that song, I promise." Though his band made so little money...it wouldn't even be that much. No matter. He wasn't even sure the blue grass community was ready for a song about Hirsch the Glitter Man. |
I can't play with glitter!Hirsch and Paul cause overlapping timelines :( SPOILER!!: brings Haddie along cause I can The small Slytherin had hopped over pots, pans, rubber scrapers, and a small pile of flour to get out of the kitchen. But he had managed to do so without getting covered in kitchen mess, and had immediately made a beeline for Hirsch's office with his Ravenclaw friend in tow. He was still a bit bummed out over not having a niffler, but... soon he'd have other things to focus on. It'd be alright. Jaemin was quiet as they approached the professor's office door, thoughts straying down to the greenhouse as he wondered how his tiny plants were growing. He was watching his feet as he walked, and for a long moment he wondered why there were a few sparkly little remnants of what looked like glitter on the floor around the legs of the seating and the tables. Maybe someone had decided to use Professor Hirsch's table to do arts & crafts while they'd waited for him? Either way, it was unimportant. He looked at Haddie and smiled just a little before going to knock on the door. |
Haddie stared at the glitter for a bit, eyeing it suspiciously. If it wasn't food, it was glitter. Honestly, food was better. It washed out fine. Her hair was a glitter sponge, and it took weeks to get it all out of her hair. Although... it might actually look cool with her newly dyed rainbow ends of her hair. Or maybe... She glanced up and noticed Jaemin looking at her and smiled back at him, though it was only in part returning his smile and partially because she had an idea... As Jaemin turned toward Hirsch's door to knock, Haddie pulled out her wand, aimed it at the bits of leftover glitter and whispered firmly, "Wingardium Leviosa!" The glitter sparkled and danced into the air, following the path Haddie made with her wand. It wasn't much at all really... enough to be worth a giggle or two, but that was it. Up and up, the glitter flowed gently as if on a light breeze over to the door. As soon as it was over the birthday boy's head, she let the levitation spell drop. The tiny amount of glitter sprinkled down on Jaemin's head like sparkly snow. |
Having knocked on the door, Jaemin stood at it for a moment, listening for any movement inside. He'd been at the school long enough to know that sometimes the professors wandered, so... he might not be there. But Hirsch had to be there, because... well he just had to be. Jaemin had short legs, and that meant that hunting around the castle would take a very long time. He turned to look at Haddie, not noticing the glitter that was settling into his hair, and frowned slightly at the sight of her wand in her hand. "What are you doing...?" She wasn't gonna try to hex him while his back was turned, was she? Cause that was mean. He eyed her wand suspiciously, feeling absently at his sleeve for his own as he looked around them both, just in case he was missing something. Cause... why would she have her wand out...? |
Jaemin + waiting for Hirsch Haddie's wand disappeared behind her back in a flash. "Nothing," she assured Jaemin. The innocent act she was pulling was severely compromised by the fact that she was practically chewing her bottom lip off trying not to laugh. The way his hair shimmered and sparkled in the light was just too rich and a snicker escaped her before she could reign it back in. A moment later she dropped the pretense. The jig was up anyway. "I am so so sorry," she said, still struggling to keep from giggling. "Really. It was just there and so tempting." Haddie gave the birthday boy a sheepish look of guilt that didn't look guilty at all. "I couldn't resist. It was..." She paused as if selecting her words carefully, and then gave a little gesture like she was waving those words off. The Eaglet shrugged. "You have glitter on you," she confessed. After a moment, Haddie threw her hands in the air. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Was she enjoying herself? You bet she was. |
Peeves was on the move, looking looking looooooking for something very particular in his school. Best place to start was with the professors, and he was enjoying making the rounds. Some more enjoyable than others. Like here, where instead of a professor, he found some naughty naughty firsties. He made a raspberry as he slid through the ceiling. Professor was... not here. Good. "Amateur. I'm surrounded by amateurs." |
Oh Haddie noooooo. The fact that he hadn't felt anything touch him, coupled with Haddie's giggling and lack of pointing out where the glitter was, had the small Slytherin's face going pink. Had she magicked glitter onto his back or something? Jaemin pulled at his shirt and turned his head to try and see over his shoulder. "Where did you..." he couldn't see any obvious glitter patches on himself, but that didn't mean they weren't there. His tongue was poised to say something else when a few things started happening, all at once, distracting him from actual words for a long moment. The movement of his head from trying to look at himself sent a small burst of glitter out of his hair and into the air around him; at the same time, a figure dropped through the ceiling above them rather noticeably. Neither of these things made him particularly happy. At least glitter didn't have an immediate need to be taken care of. It could make him unhappy and a little itchy, but it wasn't inherently harmful. Peeves, however... Peeves. Jaemin wrinkled his nose and gave Haddie a look before directing his gaze up at the poltergeist. "What are you doing here?" he asked rather plainly, clearly unimpressed with Peeves' appearance. |
