Olympia almost had to stop herself from practically skipping into the greenhouse. HERBOLOGY. The third year LOVED this lesson. She could definitely say it was one of her favourites. She beamed at the Profesor. "Hello, Professor Myers!" She gave a wave and joined the circle as the class got themselves ready for meditation. Waaait... She had almost forgotten to say something nice about someone!!! Quickly, Olympia looked around the room, her curls flying around her face as she did so. "Erm..." She caught sight of a girl in the year above who she had never spoken to, buuuuut- "Brooklyn looks very nice today".The Gryffindor smiled and let her shoulders relax. Phew.. |
Herbology time!!! So far the young lioness enjoyed this lesson, and Professor Myers was cool and nice too. Entering the greenhouse, she smelled something bad, like really bad. Well, never mind. "Hello, Professor Myers!" She greeted that man and then joined the rest of them for the meditation. And also, she had to say something nice to someone here. Oh hi, Olympia! "Olympia... she has a nice hair." Hehehe. |
Angel was totally looking forwards to one of her favour lesson, she loved Herbology and she couldn't wait to see what they were studying today. "Hi Professor." Angel smiled as she walked into the greenhouse. She then went over and started to meditate with the other students, she was still getting used to this new way of relaxing. Angel now had to try and say something about someone. "Ava is friendly." Angel thought about what she would say for a few moments before she went with what she did, now she would wait for the lesson to start. |
Hady made her way to the days lesson just as she always did. Upon entering the greenhouse she glanced at all the boxes instantly taking in the different 'scents' and tried not to think about that to much. "Hello Professor," she smiled lightly making her way to stand in an open spot of the circle being made for meditation, her clean pair of gloves already on her hands. A quick glance around once more and her hazel eyes landed on Angel and she grinned lightly. "Angel is a wonderful friend." The girl was. They always had a nice time talking and hanging around together. |
*couldn't resist oops* "WHAT???" Maggie just so happened to walk in right when Kaycee had shared her compliment with the class. Like.....what? Was she serious???? What was....what????? She just kind of stopped to stare at both Kaycee and Dante, giving them confused looks. Had she missed something there???? Eventually she did walk into the greenhouse, giving the professor a nod in greeting. "Hello Professor." Totally chill, everything was fine. Normal. No big deal. Nope. Hello. She couldn't wait to start meditating. Mhm. Oh. Right. Compliments first. "Rooney knows what girls like apparently." Flowers. Yes it was a statement really but also a compliment? Of sorts? Maggie was a little off her game there. |
Quote:
But also, did he FOR REAL just give the head girl ALL THE FLOWERS? Charlotte peeeeeered at him for a moment, and then the realization hit. ROONEY WAS IN LUUUURVE. .... that was HILARIOUS. Giggles commenced. |
Okay, Henric read the new rules so..he was safe? No need for high-fives or put on their compliment buttons, right? Meditation and put up a good word for his fellow classmates. Simple enough. He liked it...another eccentric professor in Hogwarts. He walked into the classroom to greet his new herbology professor in a quiet voice so as not to disturb the class zen. "Good morning,professor.."he whispered before carefully finding a place to sit. Compliments next,"Charlotte..is uh...good in charms spells." Yup. He didnt know the girl so it was the only thing he could think of right now. |
Ah, Herbology. Janelle arrived for the class, hoping that she would do well with whatever activity was planned. Herbology was not her best subject, but she was committed to doing the best that she could. "Hello Professor", Janelle said as she entered the room. Janelle looked around to see who had arrived already. The answer was, pretty much everybody. Who would she give a compliment to today? She had plenty of students to choose from, but she would prefer to talk about someone she knew. On her second scan of the room, she made a decision. "Sophie Brown is an amazing leader." Well it was true. In Janelle's eyes, the Head Girl could do no wrong. Sliding into the already formed circle. Janelle set her bag down and prepared for meditation time. She didn't really mind it. Anything that helped her get focused was alright by Janelle. |
<3 Marsha was excited for Herbology… as long as no more acromantula’s appeared…. but so far so good this term. Hopefully that would continue on after Christmas. Well, wishful thinking and all of that jazz. Hehe. Having skipped her way down to the greenhouses, Marsha slipped in and looked around at everyone already gathered there. Who did she want to say something nice about this time? Well she was going to say something nice about Roo - but she just heard Maggie (it was Maggie right?) say something about him soooooo….. Looking around the circle further her eyes landed on her self-appointed Big Brother. ”Adi makes me happy, and he’s got the patience of a saint cause he is trying to help teach me to play the piano.” Big grins and smiles for you, Aditya Rehman. |
Hippies. This school was filling up with strange, optimistic, over the top HIPPIES and Benzi hated it. HATED IT. He was never in a good mood when he came to Herbology just because he felt like it was mandatory and NOPE. He would noy comply. He would only be in a good mood if he wanted to, excuse you, and oh look he did not want to to, so take that Professor Rainbows and Sunshine. The only time he'd given anyone a flower was when he wanted to make Evie smile, and that had had absolutely nothing to do with the lesson so there. Walking in, head held high as he regarded the greenhouse, Benzi walked over to his customary seat and sat down. "Professor," the seventh year greeted him with a nod, then busied himself with absolutely nothing until he begrudgingly, because he knew the new Professor would be waiting, scanned the room for someone to compliment. His eyes landed on the little redhead who'd walked in minutes before him and he figured he might as well. Suri liked her. He kind of liked her too, he guessed. Whatever. "Marsha's always bouncy. And happy." There. Happy, Myers? |
Herbology now scared the crap out of Noel. And it was no surprise, he did get kidnapped by humongous spiders right when Herbology was happening. But the new professor was nice, and all the hippie stuff was calming. Noel had learnt to roll with it. Walking in, Noel took a seat next to Benzi and greeted the professor. "Hello professor" And oh yes the compliment thing, Noel looked around and saw Maggie. Passing a smile her way, he announced: "Maggie Traulton is quiet epic" There. |
SPOILER!!: Zander There he was! Zander Adair. Paul smiled and waved. “HI Zander…” he nodded at his compliment for Tia...which was true, Tia was smart indeed. All of the students were in….different ways, yes. He also made a mental note to talk to Zander about University for Herbology studies. Wasn't the boy interested? Paul had some advice and..helpful tips if the boy ever wanted them. SPOILER!!: Rooney ….Paul watched Rooney with an air of curiosity…….and when he placed the basket of flowers on Sophie’s desk, the man had to…..laugh. Well then! “Mr. Bronwyn...I am afraid that is a gross misinterpretation of what I want the flowers used for--” he went to get the basket BACK from Sophie. “You can give Miss Brown ONE flower, Mr. Bronwyn...but we have to save the rest of others….” He explained as he set the flowers in the front again. It seemed little Rooney was already good with the ladies. Hmph. SPOILER!!: Brooklyn “And to you, Miss Andrews!” he piped up enthusiastically. Good good. Good vibes all around today...he was quite pleased. And some noses were...crinkling and sniffling at the smell….alas, Paul found the bad smell quite endearing, actually. Ah. The smell of manure in the morning. Ooooh. A gentleman. Nice. SPOILER!!: Olympia And Olympia was SKIPPING to class….well, into class. Paul didn’t know if she had been skipping the whole way here...regardless, he enjoyed her energy and enthusiasm. “Well HELLO there, Olympia.” He smiled and checked his watch. Any minute now...he was on time to start class. “You seem happy today!” SPOILER!!: Ava Another excited one...Miss Burton, the young lioness. “Hi, Miss Burton…” he smiled and then chuckled...more hair compliments. It made Paul ruffle his own hair again...maybe he should dye it. A light purple, perhaps? No no. Too unprofessional. The students would probably make fun of him, too, for it. And Paul was too much of a softie for that. SPOILER!!: Angel Ah, one of the triplets! He didn’t know which one this was, but Paul smiled and waved at her..anyways...um…”Hi…..there!” oops. Angel or AJ? The third one looked different...gah. GAH. Paul felt bad but… Sigh. Faces. SPOILER!!: Hady “Hi there, Hadleigh…” he nodded and smiled over at her. She even had her gloves on, which he thought was wonderful. He DID have some notes to give at some point, though...heh. She could try to write her notes with those one...it’d be interestng what her handwriting looked like. SPOILER!!: Maggie Paul didn’t notice Maggie’s faulter in coming into the Greenhouse, but he waved at her when she waltzed inside. Miss Traulton was a picture of grace, wasn’t she? “Hello, Miss Traulton.” He smiled. HA. Her compliment...Merlin…”While I agree, I think girls enjoy more than just flowers.” Not that Paul was any sort of expert….on women.Pffft. SPOILER!!: Henric “Good morning to you, too, Mr. Nicolei! Is she good at Charms?” he smiled at Charlotte. “That’s very good!” he said, resisting the urge to snap out of positive recognition. He had maybe..been hanging out with Cassie and Leo too much. SPOILER!!: Janelle Little Janelle…”Hello!” Paul smiled at her. Smiles for everyone! His face always hurt after classes...because he smiled so much! Well..most classes anyways. Depended on the mood of the class at any given period. “She is, isn’t she! As are the other prefects--” he didn’t want them to feel like they weren’t! SPOILER!!: Marsha Paul was...just about ready to start class? He would let the stragglers come in during meditation....it secretly was one of his biggest peeves, though. The man was much too soft to ever say anything too mean...but coming in during meditation was so rude to him. “Hello, Marsha!” he said as he moved more into the circle to get ready. “OH?” he jumped at Marsha’s statement. “IS HE? M’dear! You’ll have to show me what you’ve learned sometime!” He was beaming. “I always wish--I was telling Adi this the other day--I wish I could play the piano! Lifelong dream of mine...but my hands!” he held them up. “So cumbersone.” SPOILER!!: Benzi Ahhh, one of his less than enthused students. And a prefect, too. Paul found it very interesting indeed. “Mr. Rider...if you will kindly join the circle, now--” he was so ready to begin! SPOILER!!: Noel But WAIT. Another student! Paul smiled at Noel. “Come on Noel--let’s go--” he gestured to the circle. He was eager to begin and...well, Paul loved meditating and relaxing...focusing. It was very good for the mind and for the soul. He cleared his throat to call the attention forward. “All right everyone...quick meditation...hold hands with your neighbor…” he lowered his voice a great deal to invoke...relaxation. “Let us...clear our minds….” he was just above a whisper. “Think of all the bad energy….pent up in your body, in your soul...slowly breathe in…..” Paul slowly breathed in, but as the leader of the meditation could not hold it as long as he would like to. “And hold it in….think about what is bothering you today...think about anything that causes you….negativity….” Paul could think of a few things for this..mhmm…. “And as you slowly breathe out...let us push all of the bad ideas and thoughts out with us...let the negative energy flow into the air…” He always worried for the plants...what if they got HIT with the bad energy? It was why he opened the door after the meditation. GET THOSE BAD VIBES OUT OF HERE! “Let them drain out of you….you are left with you and your thoughts….” His voice was still soft. “Think of today...think of the fresh start you have for life...every day...you get a chance….to prove yourself...every day….think of your goals….how you wish to accomplish them….” Ahem. Paul was speaking softly, STILL, and had his eyes closed. “And think of all that you are blessed with…” Paul could think of MANY things. One being his students. Blessing, they were, even if they were grumpy sometimes. Or sad. Or mad. Paul didn’t care or mind. People were people...and people had feelings. “And with that--we will begin our lesson--” his voice was normal once more and he let go of his neighbor’s hands, returning to the front of the room. “Everyone find a spot! We’re going to be talking about something I find VERY important for anyone interested in seriously taking care of plants--muggle OR magical.” He grabbed his wand. “But first--tell me--what is important for plants? Nutrition wise? What do they need?” He waved his wand and a title appeared on the board. Quote:

"Please." she said pulling down her scarf to show just a hint of a smirk. "Fantastic IS a valid, accurate and completely appropriate adjective." FIST BUMPS FOR DOT. She then wiggled her fingers. Hai Maggie. Don't look so flabbergasted. If there was something you should know, you'd know it. She flashed an innocent smile before sliding her hand into Dante's. She whispered under her breath something about how negative her soul was. Lulz. Meditation. Oh, yay. Lesson. She raised her hand. "Sun. Usually." |
It was time to meditate. Janelle grabbed the hands of the students next to her and closed her eyes. Listening to the professor's words, she began to take her deep cleansing breaths. Drawing up any negative feelings she might have had, Janelle tried to imagine them leaving her body with each breath. It was working. Not that she was feeling particularly bad to begin with, but meditating was making her feel more........free and......clear. Thinking of her blessings was not hard. That always put a smile onto Janelle's face. Feeling good and ready to roll, Janelle listened to the first question of the day. Raising her hand, she began to answer. "Plants need water." Of course they did, didn't all living things? |
Norah beamed at Professor Myers as soon as the meditation was over. Man, they should do that in every class. She wiggled her fingers in her gloves, which was completely necessary after extended periods of hand holding. Finger wiggling was a must. Next came hand waving (why was it so easy to feel free when in the green house?) because she KNEW something plants needed. For sure. Lots of things, actually. They were pretty high maintenance if you thought about it, but it was completely worth it considering they were AWESOME. "Plants need nutrients. Usually they can get 'em from the soil." Did he want a list of nutrients? She knew those too. Apparently being the only OWL she could study for for more than ten minutes without being distracted really showed in the Herbology class. Oh yeah. |
Ava beamed excitedly when AJ (or Angel?) said that she was friendly. And then the lesson started and like usual, they begun with the meditation first. Inhale... Exhale... Done! And what's important for plants? The young lioness put her hand up in the air. "Professor! Plants are living creature like human and animals and to keep living, they're gonna need food like... carbohydrate?" She did remember her muggle teacher said that carbohydrate is very important and it's like the major thing on the food. To build energy, they said. |
SPOILER!!: Myers, Benny, Dot, Paulina & Marsha before class! <3 Finally! Time to get started! Adi grabbed Benny's and the person's hand who was next to him. Though he was positive he had no bad energy, he followed Myers's instructions. All meditation did for him was remind him of his mom and though he still got sulky with her because she was yet to approve of AJ, he loved her and missed her a lot. But yes, he he was thinking of her as one of the persons he had. Her, his dad, uncle, Benny, AJ, Marsha and the rest of his awesome friends. He was forever thankful and happy with whatever he had... including his good looks. Hehe. Right! Meditation was done! Adi glanced at Paulina when Myers said he had something important to tell them. No doubt she would be interested in this. But he focused on the question then his hand went up. "Plants need the correct amount of fertiliser.'' |
Meditation. Ahh.. her mum was very into it and would drag Sophie out of bed before the sun was up to do "sunrise meditation". She always protested and complained, but secretly she sort of enjoyed it. So naturally, she felt cleansed and happy upon letting go of her last inhalation. Sophie dropped the hands of those she had been holding for meditation. Listening to what her other class mates were saying about plant survival, she didn't want to repeat what someone had just said. "Plants need growing room, and optimal temperature for growth." Had she ever successfully grown a plant before? No, but nobody need know that. That's why she was here. Yay, lessons! |
The Gryffindor laughed at the Professor's tone as he saw her bound into the Greenhouse. Opening her eyes from the meditation, Olympia smiled and exhaled softly as she let go of the two hands that she had been holding within the circle. Aaaah. Goodbyeeeee bad vibes. No bad vibes in the Greenhouse. Olympia found herself a spot, and tilted her head to the side as she listened to Professor Myers talk. "Sunlight". She said promptly, then realising she hadn't put her hand in the air, she raised it. "Sorry.. Plants also need water and any other nutrients that could help them. Like plant food..?" The last part was a sort of guess. Although, she had definitely heard one of her aunties talk about 'plant food'. That particular auntie was very into Muggle gardening.. so the plant food might be a Muggle thing. |
Myers was SO nice, yes indeed, Tia was sure of it especially after his comforting smile. But that was normal for him she supposed and she definitely appreciated his honest-to-goodness genuine nature. But hearing her name mentioned in one of the positive comments was something that stunned her, especially as she saw who it was. Yes she still considered him a friend but he was leaving after this year and he was dating a friend of hers so truthfully, Tia thought she'd have been content with not speaking to him again. Until she heard the comment. Wicked smart. And he SMILED at her. Her cheeks were definitely pink and honestly how was she supposed to react? What could she say? They were starting a lesson but suddenly she felt the need to go and rectify things with the seventh year. Give him a hug. Make things alright again between them. And She couldn't do any of that now, because they were starting meditation ... Breath in. Breath out. Focus. Herbology. Plants. In a way, plants were better than people; at least they didn't confuse oneself. And meditation was done and they were starting; some of the obvious nutrients were mentioned first like sun and water and fertilizer, but surely there were less obvious ones needed in plant care? Like ... "Love. Plants need love," Tia said after raising her hand. |
Merlin’s Beard he had JUST made it! The Gryffindor had slipped in to the Greenhouse just before the door closed. He beamed at the Professor and before he walked further he walked to the basket of flowers at the front. Picking one out, Yoongi put the flower behind his ear. A pretty purple looking one. PERFECT! ….what? he had been "particularly touched and emotional" when he saw his hair this morning! He didn’t know how but he hadn’t even needed to do much to style it. It was awesome. And surely he wouldn't get points loss for motivating one self right? right! Meditation? again? Yoongi was both pleased when he heard that they were going to meditate. He used to do that at home, his sisters had gotten him in to it and it really helped him to not stress so much. He grabbed the hands of the students beside him in the circle and closed his eyes. Breathing in deeply, imagining a bright positive light going in him, held his breath a few seconds and then breathed out while imagining the negative to go out and evaporate in to thin air. He did this a couple of times until he began to feel a bit light headed and smiled unconsciously. The Gryffindor opened his eyes when the meditation was over and class officially began. He took out his flamingo quill and ink bottle , ready to take notes in his notebook. “Water, Professor…I think…” |
You know who else is cheerful? Professor Myers. His lessons were always so chill and Paulina always felt super relaxed and at ease during them. She continued to smile as the meditation circle began. Some people might think it silly, but it really did help her destress. The plants also helped with that and she was really looking forward to what they would be learning about today. Catching Adi's look she knew that he was aware of how interesting she found this. Her friends knew her so well. As the topic of what was needed for plant survival came up, she raised her hand. "On top of things like water and fertilizer, plants need some good old TLC. Sing to them, strum them a song on the guitar, read them some beautiful poetry, or even give them a good old hug. Just like with people, this stuff makes plants happy and healthy." Maybe that didn't really fall under NUTRIENTS, it was still important and she didn't want to repeat the answers of water and sunlight. |
SPOILER!!: Charlotte O.O Um, what? Boyfriend? He had definitely not asked about that. But apparently she had gotten the wrong idea from his compliment. Oh no. Oliver was so stunned that he forgot to respond right away. He just stared at Charlotte until he finally managed to open his mouth and speak. "I don't want to be your boyfriend." But why did she have one? She was like eleven. He was saved from further conversation by the start of class. And though the meditation was not his favorite part, it was a welcome distraction. But he did not want to be by Charlotte in the circle because then he would have to hold her hand and she might get the wrong idea about his intentions again. So he moved as inconspicuously as possible so he was between Ellery and Norah. When it was done he took his seat again. Oh! The first question was an easy one. His hand shot up into the air because he totally knew an answer. "Plants need water! But not too much because then they'll drown." |
Was this meditation or an opportunity to sleep? Because, uh, the deep breathing and closing of the eyes was making him sleepy. And then there was Myers's VOICE which was starting to make him feel a little drowsy. But he couldn't fall asleep. No no no! What if someone drew a BAD moustache on his FACE?! WITH ONE OF THOSE MUGGLE PERMANENT MARKERS? What was bothering him? The smell. And the fact that his hands were starting to feel a little sweaty with holding onto someone else's for so long. Uh, sorry? Not even breathing out was helping him because he was VERY aware of how hot his hands felt and how he could smell the manure from all the way over HERE. Thank MERLIN, it was FINALLY time to let go. Phillip dropped his neighbour's hand as quickly as he could and rushed over towards a seat that was as FAAAAAAR away from the manure as he could go. Not that it HELPED, which was something that only made the first year scrunch up his nose in the direction of that bin. What do plants need to grow? E A S Y. Or, it would be if the answer he WANTED to say hadn't been said already. But, after a couple of minutes, the Slytherin raised his hand and piped up with something else: "Not all soils have enough nutrients in them so people can put fertilisers in them to help the plants to grow. People like to get the biggest plant they can and make it into a competition with their rival plant-growers and farmers. It's A LOT more fun that way." You know, a chance to BOAST. |
SPOILER!!: Reactions to Maggie, Charlotte and Janelle Quote:
Rooney shrugged awkwardly, hands stuffing right into his pockets, full aware that everyone was going to KNOW that Professor Myers didn't approve of his flower giving. He mumbled something about how Miss Sophie Brown deserved the flowers because she had touched him emotionally and spiritually and inspirationally. But apparently, for lack of better word, Professor Myers didn't think that the Head Girl DESERVED the attention from him. With the meditation over (and Rooney considering sending Miss Sophie Brown flowers every day of the week), Roo moved to settle at a spot for the class to begin, his opinion of Professor Myers diminishing as the school year was going by. The meditation seemed like a tacky backstage ritual and Rooney had done enough of that every day. And he wasn't going to answer any questions until he needed to in a matter of life or death. He knew the answer though. |
