Gobstones Viewing Area

The Gobstones
Viewing Area

That's right folks, come on in a Gobstones match between two of your favorite Hogwarts houses is taking place and you don't want to miss it or the prime seats up front! The room that plays host to the Gobstones matches has a few rows of raised seats along each of the long side walls, leaving plenty of room in the middle for the players to shoot for the Jack Stone.

Find a place to cheer on your house or whichever house you want to win because these players may not be brawny Quidditch jocks (or they might just be) but they still deserve the support!

OCC Note: hpluvr037, the rest of staff and I (Nordic Witch) are going to do our best to keep an eye in this thread as Matches progress, although it is no longer a moderated thread. Remember all SS School RPG and site rules apply here. Thank you very much for watching!

Of course, he was here to support his Hufflepuff mates! Both Adi amd Leah were in a team together so he wouldn't miss their match against Slytherin.
"Yeaah!! Go Hufflepuff go!"he cheered along the sidelines. He watched the game intently, learning as the game progress. Urghh...watching the match made him anxious, it was like a game of football all over again.

Botros made his way into the oh-so-familiar hall of Gobstones, with his cane thudding slightly on the floor, and instead of making a detour to the advisors' corner he went to have a seat in the Viewing Area as the Head of House and a viewer like the rest. It was refreshing and a little odd.

He seated himself next to one enthusiastic Hufflepuff boy. "Greetings, dear." He did recognize the boy from the feast, his name not yet established in the old professor's mind, though. Once comfortable, Botros smiled widely at Leo and Professor Tanner and almost waved at them. Ahem.

Anyway, back to the game. Hufflepuffs were kicking it off brilliantly! Great job! He clapped, putting his cane by his side.

"That's it! Goal it in!" Henric shouted, curling his fists as he watched the game. He wouldn't want any of their gobstones burst and spit its liquid if they lost a point. Nevertheless, he brought extra fresh towels in case it did.Henric turned to a familiar voice beside him, oh it was their head of house Professor Botros. He was surprised to see him here because he was usually seated at the advisor's corner.
"Hello Professor! Are you here to watch the game?" he asked but he realised how stupid his question was soon after.Of course, Henric you nitwit...wasn't it not obvious?

PhoenixRising 05-10-2015 04:33 PM

you two!

Even though Tia was slightly familiar with the game of Gobstones she figured watching the match between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor was a sure way to improve her own strategies when playing in the next match. So the fifth year made her way into the Hall and over to the viewing area where there was already Professor Botros and a slightly younger Hufflepuff student seated there.

"Hey Professor Botros! Lovely seeing you here!" Tia beamed at the Runes GENIUS yes she was slightly envious of that. And it was lovely seeing him, considering he had advised the game last term, but now he was a mere spectator. "Hello," she greeted to the hufflepuff.

She then turned her attention on the 'field' and beamed when it appeared as though Leah scored. Cause even though she wanted Ravenclaw to win, Hufflepuff was a second.

hello! ^_^

Benzi was here to check out the competition. He hadn't decided if he was going to play yet, but just in case he was he wanted to come and see how the Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs played. See who the weak players were, who the stronger ones are and of course, their strategies.

Waving a hello to the Ancient Runes professor - who'd somehow managed to look exactly the same amount of ancient as he had when Benz had been a firstie - Benzi took a seat next to the only Ravenclaw present, and nodded to the Hufflepuff.

"Hello," he grinned at the Ravvie girl, winked because why not, and then turned to watch the game. Hmm. Interesting.

"Hello back," Henric smiled at the newcomer.
"You're here supporting?"he asked, again with his rhetorical question. He should seriously smack his forehead.

"I'm Henric,by the way, glad you guys here supporting our houses,"he acknowledged the two of them.

He was not late. He had arrived precisely when he meant to. Which was just as the first stones had been cast.

"GO GET 'EM, MISS DUCHANNES!" the astronomer roared from the viewing area, clapping his hands equally as loud to cheer the young woman on.

"ROAR ROAR GRYFFINDOR! Let's bring the Cup back home!"

He probably should take a seat now. Ahem. Awkward, but PROUD, salutes to everyone present. Hello.

feeheeheeny 05-14-2015 02:23 AM

Hufflepuff versus Gryffindor. The story of her life.

Sophie was there to support ALL of her friends. But... as the game went on, Sophie's allegiance narrowed, and she was solely Team Zander. The poor kid was playing his heart out, but he was having no luck. Concerned that her cheers of encouragement would do more harm than good, Sophie stayed quiet in the midst of the spectators, watching... waiting... praying to Merlin that Zander would focus and make a good shot...

And then it happened. HE DID IT. HE GOT POINTS.

"YEEEEEEEEEEEAH ZANDER!!!" the Ravenclaw erupted into cheers, on her feet and PUMPING HER FIST in the air. "YOU GET 'EM. SHOW 'EM WHO'S BOSS. TAKE 'EM DOWN. SHOW NO MERCY."

...Ahem. She sat back down, grinning sweetly at the two heads of houses, and gave them a SALUTE. Just doing her duty as a best friend, guys.

sweetpinkpixie 05-17-2015 06:33 AM

"YOU'RE OUT OF THIS WORLD, MR. ADAIR! KEEP IT UP!" the professor roared as he was back on his feet. FINALLY Gryffindor had scored some points. It seemed as though he would need to bring back the shrunken head bowling in the common room this term. Something to discuss with Maddox - who would probably just tell him to do whatever he wanted, which the astronut tended to do regardless.

And then one of the transfers stepped in for the next round and the professor roared his praise once again. "YOU'RE HOTTER THAN PLANCK TEMPERATURE, MR. HWANG!"

In which he was referring to the boy's toss and skills with a gobstone, naturally.

"GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME, MISS BAYLESS!" he shouted, pointing both fingers at his eyes. An unfortunate hiccup now Gryffindor had seemed to find some sort of rhythm. Especially since that had been such a stellar toss from Mr. Zeke.

It was times like these that he missed quidditch. A well placed bludger to the opponents stronger players to knock them out of the game... he supposed one could throw gobstones at the other team, but they surely would not be met with the same praise that Beater's received.

After erupting into more celebration as Mr. Adair, he literally had to bite his tongue from ordering the Gryffindor gobstones team to pick up their stones and just throw them at the Hufflepuff team to take them out distract them.

Don't mind him and his flaring nostrils. Competitive bloke over here flapping his arms and roaring loudly.

feeheeheeny 05-18-2015 03:34 AM

Gryffindor lost.

And it was dreadful, really.

Sophie rose after Kitridge brought the match to an end, looking less disappointed than she actually felt - she'd really hoped Zander would win, okay? - and gave Flamsteed a sympathetic shoulder-pat as she passed him to leave. "M'sorry Gryffindor lost, professor." The poor guy was VERY passionate over his lions, and Soph actually genuinely felt bad for him. "Zander was good, though. Y'should be proud of him." Ahem. Trying too hard? "You guys'll get 'em next time, m'sure." Unless Gryffindor was playing against Ravenclaw in the consolation match, in which... well. Ahem. Hehe. Sophie Brown would PUT UP A GOOD FIGHT against them. But she didn't need to say that aloud.

"Have a good day, professor." She hoped he didn't mind that she was going to steal away his prefect - he didn't want to keep him for any sort of post-match chitchat, did he? - and hurried off to meet up with Zander, who hopefully wasn't TOO disheartened by the loss. It was just a game, after all. She'd drag him along to bake cookies with her if he needed cheering up.

Preliminary Match 2

WOOT! The second Preliminary match of the school year!

Of course Adi was there, all set to get his cheering on for BOTH Ravenclaw and Slytherin though he might be a bit biased towards Slytherin because most of his favourite persons were from the House. Adi waved at Mr Kitridege and Professor Tiara as well as the teams assembled there though he wasn't sure all of them noticed him.

BUT this match was going to be epic! He couldn't wait to see which House Hufflepuff would play for the Cup. Now, Let's go, Slytherin! Let's go, Ravenclaw!

Bazinga 05-22-2015 02:01 AM

Gobstones, she had missed the first match and she had been very sad about that. Her fantastic Hufflepuffs had done a great job from what she heard. Today's game would be just as good she was sure of it. So off Cassie went to the stands and looked around. Walking up to a seat, she saw Adi and gave him a grin. "Well hello there, nice day for a Gobstone game, don't you think?" Not that the weather had to be good or anything, but it was a great day.

Taking a seat she looked around. Nessa was to join her today and she hoped she remembered correctly. She was to meet her there not go to her room, at least she hoped that was what it was. Cassie at times had a horrible memory for that sort of thing. She knew Nessa would understand if she did forget they had been friends long enough that she knew how Cassie worked.

"Has the game started yet?" Her green eyes turned to Tiara and Leo, giving them both smiles and of course a little wave.

FearlessLeader19 05-22-2015 07:21 PM

Adi had remained standing as the game got started. Too much excitement for a badger to take his seat, yo! Oh look! ANOTHER badger was here! "Heya, Professor Cassie! It is! How are you?'' He looked back down at the teams as Mr Kitridge oversaw the second toss. "It just got started. Ravenclaw got the first point.'' YAAAAAAAAAAAAY, EDEN! But come on, Snakes! Cilla had lucked out.

Ohohoh! Zhenya was taking a toss for Slytherin this time! "GOOOOO GET THEM, ZHENYA!'' Adi shouted. He didn't care if her toss was on target or not, he was going to cheer for her to the end.

Ehem. Nobody mind his shouting.

emjay 05-23-2015 10:12 PM

Oh, goodness.. Nessa was late and she knew it. Hopefully she hadn't missed too much of the game though. But she had had a lot on her mind lately and had forgotten just where Cassie had mentioned meeting. Somehow Nessa had gotten it into her head that her BFF had wanted to meet her at the Divination tower before the game and so she had headed that way. But once she realized that Cassie was not in her office and the game was about to start, she realized her mistake and headed towards the game itself.

She might have been somewhat out of breath when she arrived as she had been hurrying to not miss too much of the game. Seeing her BFF and the Hufflepuff prefect already seated there Nessa gave them both a big smile and wave. "Hello, Adi!" Oh, what school spirit the boy had! That was so nice to see, and it was so nice that he was here to support some of the other houses. Sliding into the seat next to Cassie, she turned her eyes too the game as she spoke to her. "Hi! I didn't miss too much, did I?"

Bazinga 05-24-2015 01:26 PM

Cassie sat down and watched the match start playing with her locket her green eyes turned to Adi, “I’m doing very well thank you. How are you today?” Her eyes turned back to the match. Both teams seemed to doing well. “Go teams!” She snapped cheering for both sides. She always hated that there was a winner and a loser. Smiling as Adi cheered on Zhenya she was certain she knew who he wanted to win.

Her green eyes noticed another coming to watch and smiled at her best friend, “Professor Glendower, I wasn’t supposed to meet you at your office was I?” Was that why she was late? Did she go to the wrong place? It probably wouldn’t surprise her if she had been. If only her cats could remind her of specific dates. Maybe she’d start telling them and see if they would remind her.

“No you haven’t missed much. Just started. Slytherin is in the lead at the moment.” She looked to the match happy to know more about it. After dating the Gobstone Advisor you tend to learn about the game more.

FearlessLeader19 05-24-2015 04:07 PM

Adi had decided to take a seat as replied to Cassie. "I'm good too. Just looking forward to a great game today." By the looks of it, it seemed that they would be entertained with one. Adi leapt up as Tia took a toss. "GOOOO, TIA!" But even she lucked out. How unfortunate. Oh, hey, Professor Nessa! "HI, Professor!''

Excuse the Hufflepuff. He could say no more because... "AWESOME TOSS, ETHAN!'' That's his fellow rocker for you! WOOT! This was a close game! Just look at the way the teams were scoring. It was clear both had excellent players. Adi would have to bring his A- game when Hufflepuff played whichever team in the Championship match.

Anywhoooo, more cheers from the boy, both for Eden and Zhenya. Wheeee!

emjay 05-25-2015 10:44 PM

Nessa looked out towards the arena as Cassie and Adi began cheering, trying to see what had just happened. She still didn't quite get this game, but she really wanted to come out to support the students so she started clapping and cheering along with them too. "Great job everyone!!" Because even though one might be winning over another, she was sure they were all giving their best effort and that was something to be applauded.

She turned her brown eyes to her best friend as she spoke. "No.. though that probably would have made more sense than where I did go," she laughed. "No big deal.. I've just had a lot on my mind and am being a little forgetful lately, I guess." She was here now and that was what counted. At least she didn't completely forget to come to the game.

"Slytherin is in the lead," she repeated as Cassie informed her. "Well, good for them!" She gave a few congratulatory snaps directed towards them and some encouraging ones for Ravenclaw. "Wouldn't it be wonderful if it ended in a tie?" Then that would mean they'd both win!

Bazinga 05-29-2015 05:47 PM

She watched the game some more, goodness these two teams were looking very well. Ravenclaw seemed to be up though. “Good Job everyone!” She snapped and cheered along with Adi, “I didn’t make it to the first one, how did it go?” She felt really bad about missing it. Not something she wanted to do, but sometimes it just happened. Her eyes moved back to the game as Adi starting yelling again. Goodness it was exciting!

Looking to Nessa she did have to frown, “Do we need a girl session?” Ever since their last talk she worried about her best friend, things didn’t seem to be going as well as Cassie hoped for her. “You are here now and it’s a really good match to be here for.” She let her green eyes move to the students playing again, though she did glance at Leo a few hundred times.

Glancing back to her friend she grinned and snapped, “Nessa you are brilliant, a tie would be wonderful! Though maybe the students wouldn’t think so. This goes towards their house points, I think.” She should know this after three years at the school, but points always was something she forgot about in detail. She only knew her own point systems.

emjay 06-04-2015 03:48 AM

Nessa really wished she followed this game more closely so she knew better what was going on. But she wasn't much of a sports person, though she wanted to be as supportive as possible, so she just cheered for everyone and glanced to Tiara to see who won each time.

She glanced over at Cassie and gave her a reassuring smile. Yes, she had had so much on her mind lately, but it was fine. She was fine. Things always seemed to have a way of working out the way they were meant to be. "Oh I'm always up for a girl session!" They didn't need an excuse for that, but if they did, she would totes use her current issues. "Why don't we stay up all night next Friday, painting each other's nails, reading the Quibbler, and eating ice cream?" Sounded like a good time to her and they hadn't had one of those nights in a while. Maybe they could even do some readings for fun.

Oh.. did the points go towards their house points? Nessa turned her brown eyes towards the game again. She did remember loving the points race competition when she was a student, she supposed it wasn't much different for the students now. But she couldn't possibly pick between Ravenclaw and Slytherin.. they were both great! Wait.. it was over? "Oh that was a quick game!" She laughed a little before cheering and clapping loudly for both teams. "Great game everyone!" Nessa stood then turned to Cassie. "Would you like to go get a cup of tea?" She felt like she had just gotten there and they certainly didn't have much chance to chat.

Bazinga 06-07-2015 04:19 PM

Cassie was watching the game and cheering as the players were working so hard. It was so exciting her fingers were even starting to hurt from snapping. “Next Friday will work! Eeeep! My nails could use a good painting.” Looking down at them, they had been in need of a good manicure, so this would be super perfect. The rest of course was always fun in Cassie’s eyes, she just loved her Quibbler. “I have gotten behind on my reading. There has to be good things we are missing.” She just had to stay in the know and all.

As she looked at her nails she heard more cheering and looked up, how long was she distracted? The game was over? Wow, she had missed the winning points. Standing up she began to cheer with everyone else and snapping. “GOOD GAME, GOOD GAME!!” Everyone was a winner in her eyes. It was a lovely game and they all should be very proud.

“A cup of tea sounds fantastic after this exciting game.” Turning to Adi she gave a little wave. “Thank you for putting up with two professors during the game Adi. Have a wonderful day.” Turning back to Nessa she nodded to leave and headed out of the viewing area.

sweetpinkpixie 06-11-2015 04:49 AM

Airey had been in the stands ever since the first stone had been rolled, but it was most likely that no one had noticed his presence due to him acting like an angsty teenager and sitting in the back. He did, however, have a small little Gryffindor flag with him that he waved every now and then.

Woo hoo...Gryffindor...whoo hoo.

Things would be so much more enjoyable if he had Pebbles waiting back in his office to give a replay to once Gryffindor secured the win.

At least he hadn't lost confidence in his house despite...everything?
