Herbology #2/CoMC #3: On The Grounds Class ProgressionThe greenhouse is almost empty as you walk in. Nothing on the large table, nothing written on the blackboard... just two professors chilling at the front of the room. Professor Millard and Professor Thompson greet each student with a welcoming smile. ♦ Question 1 ♦ Heading outdoors ♦ Question 2 ♦ Activity 1 ♦ Activity 2 |
Was she early or what? This never happened, but the unicorns happened, and she was pumped for any lesson that MAY have that happening again. This was a joint lesson so it was a possibility. As she walked into the greenhouse, she noticed that she was the first one there. Wow. This was definitely a first for her. "Hello, professors." Was he hiding any unicorns in here? AJ would be okay with that. "Will there be unicorns today?" she asked of Professor Thompson. It was far fetched, sure, but please say yes anyways. Pretty please. AJ walked over to a table and waited for someone else to come. |
Another joint lesson this term! Adi found these to be verrrrry enjoyable. But Herbology and CoMC? A curious mix. This only made him even more excited to get to class so he made his way down to the Greenhouses quite a bit early. "Hello, Professor Groundskeeper, Professor Thompson!'' The two men got grins before Adi took a look around. Oh looky! It seemed he wasn't the only one who decided to show up early. Smiling broadly, he went over to stand next to AJ, lightly poking her arm in the process. "Hey, you. Nice to see you're early for a change." Hehe. Adi was glad she was early. It only made him feel even cheerier to be standing next to her. |
The paranoia must be getting worse because Ethan found himself rushing towards one of the greenhouses to attend this particular lesson, only to find out that he was super early. Well, early, is always a good thing right? Because he gets to choose a nice spot in the...well, empty greenhouse. Hmm. There must be some sort of Disillusionment Charm going on, because empty rooms are alwayssuspicious. Advancing further, he found two men up front and gave his greeting. "Hello, professors!" Yeah, it's a good day indeed...and it's a great feeling to see the Groundskeeper-slash-Herbology Professor again. The dude's really really cool. Professor Millard got an extra nod from the boy. ... Oh...and is that AJ? Or...Angel? He chose a spot near the Gryffindor and gave her, his signature salute. "Hi AJ." Well, Adi's there so it must be AJ. Ethan also gave Adi a playful nudge on his side. "Yo!" Hi five? |
Hady made her way to this lesson calmly as always. The last lesson had been rather cool with the unicorns and all so when she entered the greenhouse and there was nothing of interest around she was...confused. Yeah confused would have to work. Stepping inside she smiled lightly to the Professors greeting them quietly "Hello Professors," before moving to her place behind the table. What exactly was going on here? The nothingness of the room and table is what mainly captured her attention for the moment. Maybe they wouldn't be staying in the greenhouse today? She tilted her head slightly as she looked around..maybe she had missed something. |
Oooh, another joint less one! Curiously Lux made her way over to the greenhouses while wondering what they would be learning about that involved both Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures. "Hello, Professors." And some of her friends were already here as well. "Hey guys!" she said to Adi, AJ, Ethan, and Hady. Thankfully no one else had died since Gregoire, and the thought of it caused her to sigh. She was supposed to be distracting herself from thought of that and what had happened to Bay. It was all that forest's fault. |
Well a bunch of joint lessons this term so far, not that Dante would complain. Less work for him with the two lesson being one and all. And less work was always welcome. Blame it no him not wanting to walk all the way to their classes on different occasions. "Hey Professor M and Hey Professor T" Now what could this lesson possible be with Herbology and Creatures. Well Creatures only ate plants and some creatures looked like plants. That was all Dante had. |
Two of Eden's favorite classes....combined. This was very exciting. She did still miss the CUTENESS of the previous Herbology professor, but she was all right. Also. Lots of joint lessons this term. How cool. Eden thought it showed a good point of...."learning across the curriculum." That would be what it was called, right? Hmph. Anyways, she liked it. It meant the subjects they were taking weren't useless and could be cross-referenced if needed. HMPH. "Good day, Professors!" she said cheerfully, smiling juuuuust a bit as she filed in after little Barrington. There was Lux...Aj...wheeeee. So many nice faces in here. WAS THAT ETHAN MORDAUNT?! Eden FRANTICALLY waved because she hadn't seen that kid in AWHILE. Wow. Okay. |
:| HERBOLOGY AND CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES????? YEEEEEEEES. Toby was in PARTICULARLY good spirits today, after what had seemed like his personal record for the longest sad known to man. And the prospect of a JOINT LESSON of TWO OF HIS FAVOURITE AND BEST CLASSES was just... well, it was sending him OVER the edge as far as this good mood was concerned. The Hufflepuff barrelled the greenhouse like a TRAIN WITH NO BREAKS. In fact, he might have accidentally charged straight into the table, such was his enthusiasm and, well... craziness. "HEY tHERE Prof Millard! Prof T! SUP." BIG ENTHUSIASTIC SALUTES for them both, before the sixth year found a place at the table and immediately began BOUNCING on the spot. WHAT would be on the agenda today? IT WAS A MYSTERY. But Toby wasn't thinking about that anymore, he was quite preoccupied happy, grinning around at everyone he knew and everyone he didn't, and giving the odd wave too because HELLO FELLOW STUDENTS. BOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCE. Oh man. Hopefully this lesson would be a practical. Nice and HANDS ON. Toby didn't think he could bear staying still for more than... a millisecond. |
Care of Magical Creatures class meant an excitable Benny. The fact that it was combined with Herbology for the latest lesson didn't seem to have much effect, at least to the negative. It was still one of his better classes as well as Angel's favorite subject so they would both likely be in their element this time around. When the time was right, the Gryffindor made his way down to the castle grounds to the location they had been given. Benny had to admit that he would have thought outside in open air would be a more likely place for flora AND fauna but they would be inside one of the greenhouses for the class. That only meant that it might be a smaller creature, or that they would be moving later on in the lesson to wherever the creatures they were to study were. "Hello Professor Thompson," he said greeting the creature's professor with a small smile. "Hello Professor Millard," he added with a polite nod to the groundskeeper. Moving to take a spot around the table, Benny spotted both Adi and AJ already there and headed towards them. "Hey." |
Herbology AND Creatures? Can they get a booyah? Ahem. Zander shoudl've been elated, except he wasn't. He was at a low. Maybe this was his midlife crisis. MERLIN HE WAS HAVING A MIDLIFE CRISIS!!! Uh. Is that possible at sixteen? BECAUSE THIS IS THE THING AND IT IS DEFINITELY HAPPENING. Maybe. He wasn't any professional, but still. Just seemed like what a midlife crisis would be. So instead of walking in with a smile like he normally would've, he just walked in kind of sadly. Making sure to sort of drag himself inside, if you will. He gave a small nod as he walked by the two men-- of very different heights by the way-- only saying so much as a weak "Professors," yeaaaaah. How could they continue to have lessons in such a horrible time? A kid got eaten alive. Kevin Hirase was being forced to leave the school. Basically a midlife crisis. |
He should be coming to class more often, shouldn't he? Finn made his way from the slytherin common room all the way down here to the greenhouses. He hoped it would be worth it, this journey. Care of Magical Creatures wasn't bad, but he'd not gone to a Herbology lesson yet, so he hoped, and assumed the Professors were able to make both classes work together somehow. The first thing he noticed about the greenhouse was that there was almost literally nothing in here but the students and professors. Had they gotten the date wrong and forgotten everything but decided to still have the class? Maybe any possible equipment they would need would be coming out later. Or else, this didn't look so good. Finn gave the two professors a nod as he made his way towards the backish of the table and stood there, waiting. |
Angel didn't know what to think about this, she loved Herbology but she wasn't so keen on COMC but it was okay she guessed and if it involved plants then she would totally be interested in the lesson, she wanted to speak to the Herbology Professor one day soon about things but it could wait she had a few years left to discuss what she wanted too. "Good day, Professors." Angel smiled at them. "I hope your both well." Angel saw that Adi, Benny and AJ was already here, so that meant she was the last one of the gang, she also notice a few other friends who got a wave as she made her way to the rest of the gang. |
DIDJA HEAR THAT, FOLKS? The two best classes EVER at the SAME EXACT TIME! Norah grinned as she entered the greenhouse, blowing a curl out of her eyes before waving at the professors. "Hiya professor Millard and Professor Thompson." It didn't even matter that it was weird that there were so many joint lessons recently, 'cause BEST classes, remember? Best ones. Ever. Everyone SHOULD'VE been cheering or something, if y'asked her, 'cept they weren't. And Zander the Prefect Dude looked as if someone had--oh. The third year made to take her usual place at the big table but he just looked so sad y'know? The mopiness could be CONTAGIOUS. She had to stop the spread, yes she did. It was her duty as a Norah Hehe. Heh. Mission ACCOMPLISHED. Compliments were invented to make people feel better, right? And if he didn't feel better after that she'd have to skip right to hugs and not sparkle's 'cause he didn't like those. Norah KNEW he didn't like those. Hehehe. |
What did you get when you put a giant (GIANT) and massively strong creatures professor together with a small, puny, and probably not very muscley herbology professor? Evie was interested to find out. When she arrived at the greenhouses, she was pleased to find that the two of them standing beside each other was quite a funny sight. "Hello, professors," she greeted cheerfully as she took a spot by the table. She tucked her hands into her skirt pockets (which she added by herself) and looked around the greenhouse to see who all was there yet. |
Now wasn't this nice, majority of the incoming students arriving in what looks to be in particularly good moods. Professor Thompson was quite relaxed given the warmer climate in the greenhouse during this time of the year. Quote:
--- OOC: Lesson will begin later on today. Don't get rowdy until then. |
Herbology AND Care of Magical Creatures, which meant... PARTAAAAAAAAAY. Sophie Brown was VERY excited for this, yes she was, and even MORE thrilled that it wasn't just two subjects that very well correlated with her interests and her chosen career paths, but good ol' Javy was going to make it even more fun, no doubt. Her enthusiasm shone brightly on her face as she entered the greenhouse and BOTH professors got a salute, but the grin widened on her face when her gaze fell upon one Javier Thompson. "Hello, gentlemen," Sophie greeted with a slight curtsy, actually winking at the creatures professor, before heading straight to stand with Tobes - but then she saw Zander, who was... well, undeniably heartbroken over the expulsion of his best friend, and... oh. Ohhhhhhhh. All kinds of conflicted Sophie Brown happening here. To solve this problem, Sophie made sure to catch Tobes' eye and give him a gimme a second look of reassurance before very casually walking toward Zander, slipping her hand into his, and very gently guiding him a little ways around the table to stand by Tobes so she was standing in between them. There. He was in good company, see? He wasn't alone. Both boys got a smile. Frieeeeeends. |
"A joint lesson. This should be interesting," Cilla thought to herself as she entered the greenhouse. She saw that Sophie Brown had winked at the Care of Magical Creatures professor. Cilla simply rolled her eyes. She looked at both professors and gave them a small smile and said, "Hello, Professors." |
..... er? woah? WHY was there like... NOTHING in here? Zeke stepped into the greenhouse cautiously, cause... something must've been wrong for it to be this bare. Right? Right? Did the groundkeeper!herbology man kill them? sell them? feed them to the creatures? Who knew. "Hi, Professors," he greeted brightly before taking his place. Lalalala.... he hoped whatever they were doing was going to be cool. Professor Millard's response to his homework had been inspiring, the man now had expectations to live up to. |
BOUNCEBOUNCEBOUNCE. Toby was pretty oblivious to most of the things around him by this point, and keeping quite occupied by bouncing away and greeting everyone with smiles and looking around at the greenhouses and all that. He was vaguely aware of Soph showing up, and he smiled at her TOO, though he missed the meaning of the LOOK she sent his way. Oh. OH. SHE WAS BRINGING ZANDER OVER. Niiiice. Zander was GOOD PEOPLE, okay? Beaming at the pair of them, Toby leaned forward a little to see better and waaaved at Zander. Z. Z-man. Z-DAWG. THE ZANDERNATOR. Sup. |
Archie beamed brightly as the students piled into the room. He recognized a lot of the faces from last time, though the names were a bit hazy at the moment. He did remember that young Hufflepuff boy who appeared to be bouncing off the walls with excitement. Well, that was a GOOD sign. He got a thumbs up. Everyone else got a cheerful "Hello." After giving the students a chance to settle into the greenhouse, Archie clapped his hands together to address them all. "Welcome to a very special Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures lesson!" It was so exciting he could feel the weight on his bladder about to explode. "Professor Thompson and I have an exciting class prepared for you all today, which involves venturing out into the grounds!" Like a mini field trip. WOO. ".... hence why the table is clear today, in case anyone noticed." "Before we disappear outside, I have a question for you all. What dangerous plants could we find in the wizarding world? Perhaps even in the Hogwarts grounds? The Forbidden Forest, maybe?" Which they unfortunately couldn't go into in today's lesson given recent events. Sad. OOC: Class has started! Please do not post your character arriving late as points will be taken. Sorry that I couldn't reply to each of you guys individually. <3 |
Oh she had been right! They were going to go outside! A bright happy grin appeared on her face as she straightened up listening closely to the Professor. He was talking about plants and such...dangerous ones. Would they be searching for certain plants and maybe creatures too? Hady raised her hand up into the air. "Aconite also known as wolfsbane is very poisonous Professor," she offered in reply to the question. Yup she knew about poisonous plants...most of them anyhow. Her father made a point of her learning them since she liked to wander off into the forest sometimes. It was always good to know what was around you. |
Angel looked at the Professor and raised her hand. "Don't we have them Mandrake plants that when they fully grow it's cry can be fatal to us if we hear it." Angel never wanted that plant anywhere near her when it was fully grown. |
An outdoor lesson sounded very exciting. Being cooped up was getting rather tedious in Cilla's mind. When the question was asked, Cilla immediately raised her hand. "Devil's Snare is very dangerous." |
It was going to be a great class. Adi could just feel it! Seeee? There was one of the coolest persons he knew joining them. “Heya, Ethan!’’ And how could Adi not high five him back? High five, bro! It seemed more persons were arriving just then. “Hi, Lux!’’ And Tobias. Hehe. Adi’s fellow Puff seemed to be extra energetic today. Seeing the wave, the younger Puffer sent a grin in return. Of course there was one other person who could make Adi’s day better and that was the guy bestie. “Dragon. Hello.’’ Man, it felt good to be surrounded by AWESOME people. Speaking of awesome people… “Hiya, Angel.” ................... COOL! They would be trekking around the grounds? YES! Outdoorsy lessons were awesome but realllllly getting outside and not being stuck in the Greenhouses or Barnyard ROCKED! Hand up? Check! "Devil's Snare, Professor.'' You know, the plant that tries to suffocate everything it came in contact with? And about the Forbidden Forrest... on a normal day Adi would have liked nothing more than to venture in there to check out dangerous plants. But with recent events, it wouldn't be such a good idea. |
