The Tower Patch At the top of the north tower some ways down from the Astronomy classroom is a large rooftop garden that has been expanded in memory of the late Marion Burbage, substitute professor of Astronomy. Lush green hedges and flower beds line the perimeter of the area and a large fountain greets you towards the opposite end. Located to the left of the fountain is a stone plaque engraved with words from the Headmistress herself which reads : |
For Professor Flamsteed Samantha had made her way to the Tower Patch. Her eyes cast themselves towards a wooden bench which she sat down upon. She had in her hand a mini comic book which she drew herself. It showed Professor Flamsteed exploring aspects of the universe. It was what she had heard muggles call a "Sci-Fi" comic. She wasn't sure if he even frequent this part of the tower but she was willing to take the chance. The comic was like a muggle comic meaning the images weren't moving but Sam had a surprise in store. |
Call him paranoid, but after the way winter had sneaked up on the castle last term had the man diving head first into meteorology despite finding the massive amounts of scientific guesswork incredibly unappealing. Carrying all sorts of eqipment with him, the astronomer has set up in a corner of the Tower Patch just behind a few hedges, but his hemispherical cup anemometer being held up gave away his location. Attaching it to a long wooden pole he had stuck into the ground, Airey looked around and found he had forgotten something and would need to head back to his office. Couldn't risk summoning it to where he was. Sensitive equipment zooming through the castle. No way. Quote:
Good to see a Ravenclaw outside reading rather than all stuffed up in the library or somewhere else inside. |

She held the comic out for him to accept. "I hope you enjoy it." |

With a gift for him. Oh, well, this was quite the surprise. "This is some very impressive spellwork," he awed as he watched the images move about on the page. "You have quite the natural talent with charms." He eagerly took the comic and flipped through it, not quite making the connection between what he was seeing with what he had hoped to accomplish with his career in astronomy. "Have you ever considered making a career out of this skill? Books and charmswork?" With this being her fifth year and OWLs quickly approaching, it was definitely the appropriate time to start considering options. |

It wasn't a career in Astronomy, which was something he could help directly with like he had for Miss Fischer and he was for Miss Wisteria, but still a fantastic pursuit. Maybe someday he would be reading a boy to his children written and magically animated by her.... WOAH THERE...where did THAT thought come from? |
For Emmylou <3. Kace finally managed to find a great place to have a picnic date with his girlfriend. He noticed they had tables and chairs to seat and eat on. He heard the nice waterfall and the plants were gorgeous. He noticed the professor was here but he was sure they wouldn't bother him. He owled Emmy to be here around 2pm but he was here 15 minutes early just to be prepared. He put the blanket down and got his basket all set up. He even got a stereo incase Emmy wanted to hear some country music. Now all he was waiting for was his beautiful girl to show up. |

Seeing the Ravenclaw leave entirely, he paused for another few moments just to make sure that she really had left. Once he was sure she had gone, he walked over to the fountain and sat on the ledge with the comic book opened up on in his lap. The images were...difficult to look at...and while he had resolved not to be a sentimental sort of fellow anymore, it was becoming increasingly difficult to look at the moving images of him in space. Him. In space. Shutting the comic book suddenly, he tucked it under his arm and reached up with his other hand to wipe his eyes. "Bloody dust," he lied to himself as he also departed and headed back to his office. |
Justine had decided to come up to the garden patch for a bit of much needed quiet and space, something the Common Room, with it's jumpy first years and assortment of snogging teens could not afford her. Sitting herself down on the edge of the fountain, Justine wrapped her hair up in a knot at the back of her head and opened her notebook to a random page and doodled, allowing her somewhat busy mind to relax as she mindlessly drew (she wasn't very good, but she didn't care). It wasn't that Justine disliked crowds or anything, she didn't have much of a problem with them at all, in fact Justine usually loved the energy being around many people produced, but lately she'd been feeling the need to sit alone, or at least quietly and do nothing. Perhaps she was just tired of all the pretending the Ravenclaw girl had been doing of late. It was getting bothersome, and she was wondering if she might just take Jessica's advice and drop it. |

The boy had planned on going to his dorm and nap, but he knew proper sleep wouldn't really happen that night. It hasn't been happening since the breakup but he was managing. After patrolling the grounds and some of the floors, Jun found himself at the tower patch. Professor Loo's tower patch. He couldn't remember the last time he actually stepped foot in here. Must've been in his first few years at school. More like three years ago. His dark eyes wandered from side to side, trying to find something interesting to do or just relax at. Jun swore he noticed someone he knew but kept walking. Fixing his beanie, zipping up his hoodie more and stuffing his hand into the pockets of his leather jacket, the head boy started quietly singing to himself. But then he realized something. Or someone. Stepping back a few steps, a smile crept onto his face and quietly made his way towards the figure. Still singing lowly, Jun sat down next to Justine. "Needed to get out of the stuffy common room!" he asked her. Anyone in their right mind did. The new transfers this year were just ridiculous and Jun wondered why they couldn't just arrive after he had already graduated. He really didn't like dealing with them, especially a certain blue eyed one. Jun was forever grateful to Kitridge for not making them his mentee partner. |
For Junny. ^_^ Quote:
She only looked up from the drawing when he sat beside her, Justine lightly smiled in greeting, and laid her ink pen (she hated quills, used them only in class) unto the book page, her attention turned to him. "Yes!" Justine said with a hint of relief in her voice, she pleased to see she wasn't the only one finding fault with the loud and rambunctious nature of the Ravenclaw Common Room. "It's practically a mad 'ouse, I couldn't 'ear myself zink." She added, with a somewhat exasperated smile. It was a bit colder in the tower patch than she'd expected, but considering they were rather high up it wasn't all that unusual; nevertheless, her outfit choice hadn't been the best, the knee length boots were helpful, but she'd paired them with a pleated skirt and a cream colored v-neck sweater, and neither were doing a very good job of keeping her warm. "Do you mind if I make a little fire?" Justine asked, though it was more of nicety than a real question as the girl didn't wait, but brought out a small jar and conjured a green flame to rest within it, pleasantly warming the area she and Jun shared. |
Lulz Junny XD Quote:
He nodded again and watched as Justine lit a fire in front of them. Was it that cold outside? Jun certainly hadn't noticed. Taking his leather jacket off, he draped it over the girl's shoulders and smiles. No need to have her freeze out here. Not yet at least. He just pulled up his hood up over his head. Jun had been thinking about it and didn't even know if Justine was a proper friend. Sure they've hung out and flirted a bit but was it a proper friendship now? "What were you drawing?" |
Quote:
Justine gave the boy a look as he put his leather jacket on her shoulders, a surprisingly sweet move she hadn't been expecting and wasn't sure how exactly to react to. "Zanks, Pretty Boy," She said, choosing to make a joke of it. At his question, Justine looked down at her notebook. "Just some random zings... I'm no Picasso, I'm afraid," She joked, lifting away the pen to show a decent, cartoonish drawing of a striped kitten, a wand, some random words, and shapes, and her own name. |

Chuckling, he nodded. "You're welcome. I assumed that your sweater wasn't enough to keep you warm out here," Though he might start to get sick but oh well. He'll just work on more potions later. That was also another distraction of his. Considering he wanted to be a potioneer after graduating if the trainee program didn't work or changed his mind. "That's alright, I'm not one either. I mainly cook, sing, dance, and make potions. Drawing was never in my list of talents," Nope. |

“Alvays so considerate, now I see vhy Lux calls you nice,” Justine teased, her hand playing with the material of his leather jacket, enjoying the supple texture. Somehow, the luxurious feeling of the garment reminded her of Jun’s hair and she was suddenly bombarded with a flashback to their time in the empty classroom a few days ago… Merlin, that had beennice. She bit her lip, but shook herself slightly out of it as the eagle spoke again. “You do all zat? It’s not fair, you ‘ave too many talents…. “ - Pause. - “I liked your singing.” |
Quote:
Lux and her have spoken about him?? "Lux and you have talked about me? I hope they were good things," Though Lux was one of the few people Jun didn't mind talking to or didn't annoy him. Maybe a bit at first when they met but after that, not even the slightest. "I can be nice, if someone doesn't annoy me. But that seems so easy to do nowadays," He shrugged. Jun even talked to Kitridge about his recent problems and it was a rare sight. He didn't even talk about his feelings with Connor. It made him feels weird. And now he laughed. "That's too many? It's rarely anything compare to what other people can do," Which was somewhat true. Jun only got into all those things to help him cope with the trauma he had as a child. Even now, ten to eleven years later, the seventeen year old boy still wasn't over his fear. "You did? I haven't gotten much practice lately," |
Quote:
Grin. “Just a little…. Oh, of course not,” There was just the lightest implication in her voice: the lightest hint that the exact opposite was true. The truth was Lux had said only said a thing or two, but they’d been perfectly sweet, about how Jun was much nicer than he believed, a fact Justine easily believed. “Why I mean, why lately?” She asked, tucking back a strand of her hair that had come undone “Not even, most people… Normal, polite people, have one or two talents,” Justine said, her grin eyes flashing with amusement. Merlin knew their weren’t many people so well rounded, the boy must be pretty dedicated to be good at all that. She smiled up at him, not her usual half smile, but a proper one. “Yeah, you have a good voice, Timberlake…. “ She lightly teased, referencing the muggle popstar, something she found appropriate considering his boy band dreams. |
Quote:
"Lux only says good things about me. She's one of the few," Along with Sophie. But Jun didn't really pay much attention to it all. Or to anything really. He tried to avoid the drama but it seemed to follow him everywhere anyway. "Besides the new kids that are irritating, most likely my disorder getting out of hand, again. Same thing happened around the same time last term," And it was horrible. Jun did not want to feel like that again. Ever. He's already lost two friends because of it. Even the girl he was dating. But talking to Kitridge helped a bit. Better than nothing. Snorting, Jun shrugged at the comment. "I've been singing since I was six, I think. Dad thought it'd help with the trauma of almost drowning. So dancing was also included in there," Just like his dad. But the cooking was from his parents being away so much, he had to find a way to survive. "Do you have a talent? Besides the accents?" Grin. |
Quote:
"What did you do? Scare kids, teepee houses?" Justine joked, It was what she would have done, along with getting candy of course (which to a sweet tooth like her, was the most important bit) "We should, I had fun the last time we went... Though, i had fun when we got back, too." She smirked, her green eyes lighting up mischievously. Justine couldn't help herself, there was something about Jun that made it impossible for the girl to behave properly around him. Justine chuckled, tucking away the notebook into her satchel purse. "I think she only says good things about everyone. I've never met anyone so nice and innocent." If Justine were honest, it had been a little off-putting at first. Mostly because Justine had no idea how to properly accept such sweetness. "Yeah, the younger kids are- " she had definitely missed something important in that last part of the sentence. "You have a disorder?" That might have been rude, she hadn't meant it like that, she'd meant to be sensitive. To the girl who lied about almost everything and kept all things to herself, Jun's casual mentions of his drowning and his disorder were completely foreign. Did he trust everyone so easily? No, no she could see that he didn't, Jun didn't seem like the kind to let people in easily, yet here he was; telling Justine these very private sounding things... Justine wasn't sure how to feel about that. How did she even reply to it? "Did it help? The dancing and singing?" She asked, her eyes studying him as if he were a particularly hard puzzle. Hahaha, oh so he had jokes, huh? Very funny Mr. Kim, one point for you. "You must admit, I am rather convincing.... Hm, I play piano, though, I haven't played much since coming here. I act, I'm a very quick reader... I model, I'm good at making things up on the fly... Basically I'm a talented liar." Smirk, Bolton would have said too talented. |
It was a miracle that Paris managed to find this place the first time around, having heard about it in the common room. And it did seem like the perfect place to do some sketching, which was why he'd invited Clara up here. And also for other reasons that had him anxious. The fifteen year old walked around until he found the fountain, then he got out his sketch book, sat down and waited for the older girl. |
Feel free to join Even though the term was almost over, Hugo hadn't been in this rooftop near the Astronomy classroom, neither he had noticed it. The now twelve-year old was enjoying some pudding he had taken from the kitchen. Hugo sat down near the fountain and looked around for someone but it seemed he was alone. He continued on eating his pudding and started to think important things, like what would have happened if he had gone to Drumstrang instead of Hogwarts or why older students were so emotional about leaving Hogwarts. Well, actually they should be sad about it because now they had to work and that was boring, but he had nothing to worry about that, he was a free and happy first year. |
