of Professor Culloden As you enter the room, the first thing you see in the middle of the room is a hand-made Turkish carpet and nothing else. To the immediate right of the door stands a coat hanger for four coats a time, and you are expected to hang your coat there before fully entering the room. Professor's desk and two chairs in front of it are located at the right end with three pictures hanging from the wall, and his bookcase and 'emergency potions' shelves with a representational potion brewing set are located at the left end of the room. The walls are painted light blue. |

Determined to be as much of a charming pest as possible - she had a whole summer to make up for - Sophie strolled right on over to the man's comfy-looking office chair behind his desk, sat down, propped her shiny new black dress shoes up on the man's desk, and laced her fingers behind her head, totally smug. HEHEHE. Totally nonchalant, she admitted, "S'nice to be home." His office felt like a safe haven, and her whole body language made it clear that she was totally relieved to be there. No place she'd rather be. |
SPOILER!!: Professor <3 Yes! The Professor was there. And not asleep. Adi waited grinned to himself and bounced on the soles of his feet. Here's hoping for the best! "Hiii, Professor!'' the third year greeted and failing to notice the man was looking sleepy even though his face was very much close to his. "How are you? Had a good summer? It's pretty good to be back, isn't it?'' He followed Culloden into the office. "Nice office, Professor,'' he said after a moment of surveying it. Adi particularly liked the rug. So pretty. Anyway. To business! After making himself comfortable in one of the seats, the Puffer began to address the reason as to why he was here. "Professor, My best friend Benjamin Atreyu doesn't like to talk much and it drives me crazy sometimes so I'd like to slip him a Babbling Beverage sometime.'' Uh huh. Adi was going to be quite honest with his intentions because he didn't think his idea would harm anyone. "The problem is, Alihotsy and erumpant aren't available to students. So, I'd like your permission to have access to them.'' Pretty please. |
Quote:
"That's very considerate of -" She was occupying HIS chair in that demeanour. See, it wasn't like he didn't try. He tried his best to frown and glare, but with her, it just never happened. With her, he burst into a very well amused laughter, and he had to put the open box on his desk not to drop it. "'S--HAHAha--nice to--HEHE--haveyouback'ere--OHSOPHIEOHMERLIN!" He dramatically wiped his eyes as he flopped onto those chairs in front of his table. "Hope you're enjoyin' it. You're the only person to be allowed to do that." Quote:
"I'd be-be-been," he tried to stifle another yawn, "very busy during summeri but I s'ppose it's good." He was still far too silly to think straight, so he also completely forgot to return the questions. Adi was actually pretty lucky Cosgrach didn't throw him out, did he know? Yeeea - yaaaaaawn. "Sorry, Adi," he quickly apologised before the boy stated why he was there, and soon enough, he was grinning mischievously. He still was badly sleepy, but he was looking definitely sharper and this was enough to wake his brain up. "You should definitely help your friend, of course," he said, but he then cackled with malicious laughter. Adi had some Slytherin in himself, after all! "Who am I to stand in your way?" Oh, he was no one! "I just ask one thing: that I want to have a conversation with him when you give him the potion too. Just a small one, I won't steal much of your time." If someone like Adi had to use a potion to make him talk, little Benny TRULY never spoke. |
SPOILER!!: Culloden <3 Adi still hadn't realised the Professor was very sleepy looking, such was his excitement of his He also noticed the man moving slowly. Were those effects from last term's aging epidemic? O_o He didn't dwell on that further because Culloden was speaking. And yawning. Uh oh. The Puffer realised he had possibly woken the man up. Oops. "Sorry, Professor. I hadn't realised I had woken you.'' He grinned sheepishly. As Adi lunged into his explanation of his visit, he could see the Professor slowly but surely becoming wider awake and more focused and he knew his idea was going to be approved. Awesome! "Yes! I'm glad you understand, Professor,'' Adi said, totally thrilled. He even joined in with a bit of laughter. They sounded like two mad scientists who discovered something genius or something. Hehe. And then he really got the permission. Adi was ecstatic! "Thanks, Professor!'' Wasn't this man totally cool? "Of course. That won't be a problem.'' It was the least Adi could do since his idea wasn't thrown out. |

Except... he was laughing a lot. A lot, a lot. She quirked her head sideways at him, judging him a little, but laughed right along with him. "I am, thank you. S'comfy." She straightened her arms and stretched them as far back as she could over her head, fully taking in the glory that was being in a professor's office chair. It felt... powerful. "This should be my chair every time I stop by. You can have it all the rest of the time." Hehehehe. She was pushing her luck with him, but as long as he hadn't kicked her out of his seat yet... well, she was going to see just how far she could go before he wagged a finger at her. She watched him for a moment, still grinning all smug-like as she urged, "Those are my favorite sweets, y'know. Super good. You should eat those now." So she could steal one. "Hi, by the way." 'cause she was pretty sure she had forgotten that, and her smile softened. Though she wasn't going to verbalize it and inflate his ego further, it was really nice to see him again. |
Quote:
W I C K E D! "I mean, we gotta help him outta that dark pit of silence, yes," he said dramatically, but the next instant, he was this very serious, business-like Slytherin: "but I hope you also understand I shouldn't really... what I mean this, this meeting is 200% confidential. If they ask you where you got those ingredients from, you'd purchased them in the summer, right?" Right. He grinned again. "Now, let's get you those ingredients and help Benny. Are you doing this for him to impress a girl, by any chance?" Cosgrach KNEW how these things worked. Oh, he knew. Quote:
"Maybe I should take my compliments back," he started in a deadly serious voice as if he was bored of the talk, "I mean, I'm sure your mother won't be impressed at all if she knew you disrespected me like that." He casually shrugged. Oh, he was a pro at threatening. And he also didn't eat the sweets, nor did he greet her back, but eyed her gravely. Was she getting up already? HEHEHE. |
Quote:
She removed her feet from atop Culloden's desk, then, and sat up, scooting the chair in and leaning on the desk to get closer to him. "'cause I am your favorite," she whispered and punctuated her words matter-of-factly, challenging the professor to disagree with a big ol' grin on her face and convincing puppy eyes. C'mon, Culloden. Break her heart. Dare ya. |
Quote:
"Merlin, Sophie," he exclaimed, "you are brave. It's very silly, but you are brave and right. You are my favourite." He grinned at her, and took a piece of her favourite sweets. "If someone walks in, I'm so sellin' ya out, though. Tellin' them you bribed me with sweets." Then he put the piece in his mouth and - "MhmmmMMMM, thi' i' grea'!" And, not caring at all about eating manners, he stuffed another piece into his mouth. He was enjoying himself very well, don't mind him. |
Quote:
He was almost a little too excited, though, wasn't he? Soph was still giggling at him, shaking her head. "S'okay. You wouldn't be entirely lying." She had planned to steal one of the sweets from him, but since he was enjoying them so much, she'd let him have the whole box to himself. "I'm very glad that you like them, sir." Eyeing the time, the third year did rise to her feet and start the slow journey out from behind the desk, toward the door, but she stopped, hovering near where he was seated. "I should probably go. Probably not a good idea to be out after curfew on the first night back, y'know? But... I wanted to make sure you got your welcome-back-to-Hogwarts gift, 'cause I am glad you came back. There was a point last term where I wasn't sure if you would, 'cause you seemed so..." she searched for the right word choice, not wanting to hurt his feelings, "...disgruntled with some of the troublemakers of the class, but... you're knowledgeable and good at what you do. The school needs a professor like you." Pause. "Y'cant leave till after I graduate, okay?" She looked to him with big brown, hopeful eyes. He wouldn't do that to them, right? Leave so soon? |
Quote:
Adi nodded vigorously. "Yes, Professor! Silence is not always a good thing.'' Haha. But now he looked seriously as Culloden explained about the ingredients. "Of course. No one will hear about this from me.'' Nope. This was all a secret. Impress a girl? "No, Professor. This is all for my amusement.'' Adi grinned again. He thought Angel was quite impressed with his best friend, anyway. She didn't seem to mind Benny being so quiet and shy. "I'm also hoping he likes talking a lot and he'll just open up more.'' Yep. |
Quote:
"Here, take one," he said as he pushed the box towards her, once the piece in his mouth was swallowed. But then, she got up and he eyed her. Oh, curfew, right. He briefly considered walking her to her common room, but he was too lazy to. She... would she mind? Naaaah... nah. If she really did, he would win her heart back. Yep. But then she was being CHEESY and he worried she would be taken aback that he didn't even offer. "Merlin, Sophie," he said, "I promised you, remember? I'm here, until you graduate, unless Annie fires me. The kids, heh," he chuckled, "I try to look intimidating so that they behave." She knew? "But I'm happy to hear these." He smiled at her sincerely then, and looked touched for a moment, before he got up himself and walked to open the door for her. "Have fun at your first night, girl, don't go around make people sad. Want me to walk you to your tower?" And he meant it: he really would walk all that way for her. Quote:
But alright, he wasn't going to question Adi further. Yet. Instead, he got up. "I hope you succeed, little grasshopper!" he said dramatically again, and walked towards the door. "Do you want the ingredients now or later?" |
Quote:
As soon as she was done with her cheesy spiel, she tore her gaze back away from him, a little bashful. It was nice to hear that he really did have every intention of staying there, and it hadn't just been some line he used to get her to not worry last term. "Okay." A pause, and then, "Thanks, sir." Meant a lot to her, but she didn't go on to say that. Surely he knew. After another moment, she started toward the door, but she asked quietly, "Annie wouldn't fire you, would she? Aren't you two old friends?" It was a nice offer on his part, to walk her to the tower, but she rolled her eyes at him anyway. "Don't be silly. I'm the one who came to visit you down here. It'd be dumb for you to go all the way up there only to come allllll the way back down here. Waste of time, unless you have brooms or one of those cool flying carpets down here to navigate the halls better." Did he? |
Quote:
"Thank you, Professor,'' Adi said happily. He even didn't mind being called a Grasshopper. If it were Professor Lafay, he would have never dared think of even approaching her with this idea. One word out of his mouth and she might have disapproved instantly. Hehe. "Um, Is now okay? I'd like to get started tomorrow.'' Yep. Adi would be starting his brewing tomorrow so he'd be spending loads of time in the Potions Lab then. |
Persmission to post directly here :3 So Lex might have made a trip to the kitchen before heading back down into the dungeon. No telling what the Professor wanted or how long he'd have her in there and last she checked it was getting to be lunch time. Alexa Cambridge was not about to starve in an office for a mispronounced name. It just wouldn't happen. Heading back to the office she was just about done polishing off another chocolate frog. How many had she had since she left the classroom? However many it was they were all Collarbin's fault. What he wanted had been bothering her since Dima told her and they were the only way to keep her distracted enough. Worrying was never her thing and it wouldn't be today either. Lex came to a stop at the door, giving a light knock before fishing for her chocolate frog...and another...then a few well placed knocks, but no answer. Was he even in there? Deciding she couldn't possibly be in anymore trouble than she was already in, the Gryffindor turned the knob and slowly pushed the door open, an apology already on her lips just in case. It wasn't necessary though. "Empty. Of course it's empty. Not like he asked me to meet him or anything." With a roll of her eyes she entered the office, closing the door behind her then drifting toward his table to wait. She'd be standing there while he lectured her anyway. As she stood there the contents of his table caught her attention...mostly the letters that were probably none of her business. Glancing around to make sure she wasn't truly being watched, she may have shifted them so they weren't upside down to her anymore. That was when she realized they weren't English. Ugh. Of coure they weren't. |
Quote:
Cosgrach smiled at her warmly. He could see she overworried about many things, so he was glad he could relieve her a little. "And you be here too. Until your real graduation." So that she didn't come to him and say, 'I'll transfer to Beauxbatons.'. Then he would be terribly broken too. Cosgrach was so used to saying 'Annie', he hadn't realised how childish it sounded, actually. Especially while regarding to her. He chuckled as Sophie used the name, even though he knew he shouldn't have. "I'm sorry, Sophie, but it sounded different." Annie. "No, she wouldn't. We're good friends." His best friend here. Flying carpet. Yeah. The thing he lacked in his life. "I don't, I'm sorry." Sigh. And, even though he tried not to show her, he was also relieved, y'know? That she wanted to go by herself? "Aren't you one kind Ravenclaw," he said and smiled vastly. He held the door open again. A lady deserved that. "Thank you for visiting, Tiny," he said in a sentimental note that suggested he was far more touched by the gesture than he looked, "and good night." Quote:
After five minutes or so, he was back with the 'stuff'. They were in bags, which he must have conjured while in there, and he handed them to Adi. "Here you are, Adi. I believe the amounts are correct." Quote:
Oh, there was someone. Alexa. By his table. He narrowed his eyes at her as he stood there with wand pointed at her, but then he told himself that she certainly couldn't speak Russian, and he lowered his wand. "How long have you been waiting for?" he asked as he swiftly moved towards his table and hastily collected all the papers in one bunch. |
Quote:
Culloden was back in no time. "Thanks, Professor!'' the Puffer said and collected the bags. "You're a real sport.'' Yes indeed. There weren't much Professors one could go to for help with a prank. "I'll bring Benny over when he takes the potion.'' Adi gave the man a grin and a wave before exiting the office. |
Quote:
No way she could outcast him and she made no attempts to reach for her own wand either. Let's face it, even if she did get out a spell before him, he'd deflect it and haul her butt down to the dungeons. The blood flow only regularized in her face after he'd lowered his wand and she was no longer in any immediate threat of suddenly being hexed or outted...most likely the second what with there being no witnesses and Collarbin more than happy to be rid of her. Her eyes locked on his as he made the fast approach to his desk, swiping up the letters she hadn't been able to read anyway. Finally she swallowed that tinge of fear that threaten to come up and straightened a bit, refusing to be intimidated here and by a man who's name she never got right. "5....maybe 10 minutes? The door was unlocked and I peeked in to see if you were alright because you weren't answering when I knocked." Bulletproof excuse right there. For all he knew she REALLY CARED. |
Text Cut: TGO "'Course I'll be here. Where else would I go?" She certainly wasn't going to get expelled, and there was no way her mum was going to move and have to get all her plants and such to a new home - no, no. They were staying in their current house and Sophie wasn't going anywhere. Hogwarts was the only school for her. And DUH Bunz wouldn't fire him. "The kindest," she replied cheekily, smirking as she crossed into the doorway. "So kind, one might wonder if I am part Hufflepuff." ... She paused for dramatic effect, then laughed heartily. No, no. She wasn't any bit Hufflepuff. "Unless it's just Tobes that's rubbed off on me." Which was possible. Grinning broadly, Sophie started to back away, "Uh huh. See ya in class tomorrow morning, sir," then she hurried down the corridor, keeping a keen eye out for anyone who might scold her for being out after curfew. Too bad he hadn't had a flying carpet for her to borrow. |
Quote:
Quote:
"I'm fine, thanks," he told her curtly and then indicated for her to take a seat. "Please, sit down if you may." He was grumpy, but he wasn't rude. "So, care to tell me how... ah, Dmitriy Toussaint got to call me 'Collarbin'? And Kyroh Scabior as well?" Hmm? Quote:
"G'night, Tiny." And thus, he closed his door to go to bed as well. |
Quote:
She looked at the seat as it was offered but gave a polite shake of her head. "I'd prefer to stand if that's okay." And it had to be okay because she was still all kinds of restless from the sugar and didn't think she'd have been able to sit still anyway; not until she knew for sure just how bad this visit was going to be. So far, it was anything but a friendly stopping by. Heh...yeah...this was about that Dima kid. She saw this comin-- "What??" Her eyebrows rose questioningly. Whoooaaa there. No. "I haven't had a proper conversation with that Kyroh kid. I've got nothing to do with that. He's either a fast learner of the wrong things, or really slow in processing corrections." Neither of which were her fault or her problem last she checked. |
Quote:
...which, she denied. Hmm. Not letting her distract him, he eyed her with a cold manner. "So you're admitting you mislead Dmitriy." |
Quote:
Lex tried her best not to fidget, ignoring the rising feeling of restlessness again. "I did--but before you completely explode and start yelling about detentions and point loss I think you should let me explain." Would he? Deciding she didn't want to give him a chance to stop her, the Gryffindor lunged right into her explanation. "It wasn't meant to be disrespectful, it was meant to be a joke--and I know I got in trouble for the exact same thing and you gave me that whole lecture about Prefects and jokes and such but really, it's like...tradition; older students filling Firsties with Castle stories before they get there. Nothing more. Kinda like in my first year when this seventh year told me the Headmistress liked being called Hogs Head." Granted that turned out HORRIBLY but in the end it was a JOKE. Surely he had enough of a sense of humour to see this? |
Quote:
... No, no, he shouldn't really laugh but - he snorted once, twice, took a deep breath, flushed, and just let out a soft laughter in the end. "Did you really call Annie that? Hogs Head?" Ha - no, laughing was ba - HA! HEheHE. He was SO going to do that. |
Quote:
Could she risk a grin? He'd officially laughed so she was going to assume this wasn't that kind of meeting anymore. Her pride rose high into her chest and she allowed herself a small grin. "I did Sir. She swooped into the Compartment on Official business while we were on the train and mentioned she was Headmistress. I reckon I had a smile more eager than Dima's when I called her that....then she dug her nails into my shoulder and nearly killed me but yeah....totally worth it when I think about it." Not to mention it leaving a lasting first impression on the then unsorted Firstie who had no idea what to expect from their new Hadmistress. What a ride that was. |
