Girls' Bathroom

Penelope stood by the door to the girls' bathroom. She wasn't really sure if she wanted to use this bathroom, because of Moaning Myrtle. It was a long way back to the Ravenclaw common room, and she really needed to go, so hoping that she wouldn't end up like Myrtle, Penelope entered the bathroom. After checking to make sure that Myrtle wasn't in there flooding the bathroom or anything, Penelope dashed into a stall.

When Penelope came out of the stall, she washed her hands and inspected her hair in the mirror. Standing in front of the mirror, Penelope braided her hair.

Dora preferred this bathroom because of Moaning Myrtle, having a general like for ghosts and also because it meant this bathroom was less occupied than all the others. Always a bonus.

Not so much of one today, a kid was in here. They were everywhere, weren't they?

She glanced at the younger girl long enough to notice she was in her house before going to a mirror and pulling out her small makeup bag.

An older girl entered the bathroom. She pulled out a makeup bag, glancing at Penelope. The rest of the bathroom was empty. Girls probably didn't come in here much, especially if Moaning Myrtle was around. Still curious as to wether or not the bathroom was safe, Penelope said, "Hi, I'm Penelope, first year Ravenclaw. Is this bathroom safe? We won't end up like Myrtle, will we?"

".... Hey." Dora glanced at the girl through the mirror while pulling things out of her bag. Another talker, she noticed. The prefect wasn't going to give out the whole long introduction since she suspected her badge gave away that she was in the same house and the prefect. And her name passed through enough mouths that the girl would know it soon enough.

Myrtle though. "I can't say. Myrtle didn't know she'd end up as a ghost, and even with these 'aurors' around the school still isn't one hundred percent safe so who's to say we won't die." She pulled out some blush, and opened it up. "You're a Ravenclaw though, so I'm assuming you're smart and won't end up dead." That was usually the Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors.

'Who's to say we won't die' wasn't completely reassuring, but it didn't sound like a lot of people had died recently at Hogwarts. Ravenclaws probably wouldn't be stupid things to get themselves killed, so she should be okay. "Okay, thanks," Penelope said, and continued to braid her hair.

Angel decided that she needed the loo and so she had run off toward he girls toilets and when she had got there she smiled, she had made it, she wondered if there were more like on other floors but she hadn't seen them, she went to the toilet and then she went to wash her hands, she couldn't believe it, her sister was starting to leave her out of things and she was sad, even though they were in the same house, they never went to lessons together or anything like that.

AJ needed to wash her hands. Yup, yup, yup. She had no idea what she had managed to get on them, only that they were practically black and she was in the need of a snack. Normally, she didn't really care too much about hand washing before food time, but her hands were dirty even for her standards.

As she walked into the loo she saw her face reflecting back to her and not from the mirror. "Hey Angel. Fancy seeing you here." Of all places to run into each other. It was weird but it seemed like she hadn't even seen her sister that often this term.

Angel was just finished washing her hands when her sister came into the room, nope she wasn't talking to her reflection, she had been mean and totally ignored her since the incident on the fifth floor and Angel might not have said it was peeves fault but she hadn't said it was AJ fault either and she didn't like the fact her sister wasn't waiting for her but going to lessons on her own, they were in the same house but it seemed they were miles apart and might as well be in different school the way they were going.

Was she really getting the silent treatment? "Not talking to me today?" She had no idea what was going on with her sister, but she was so not about the drama. As far as she knew AJ hadn't done a thing to warrant this treatment.

She walked over to the sink and washed her hands. Once she was done she dried them and turned her attention back to her sister. "Just spit it out Angel." She was hungry and not in the mood to guess what could be wrong with Angel.

"No I'm not." Angel said to her sister and then face palm herself. "Okay so at the minute I am, but I'm cross with you." Angel sighed, why did she have to feeling this way. "Well not just with you but Abby as well, ever since we came to Hogwarts we hardly do anything together." Angel pouted she loved spending time with her sisters and now that seemed to be taken away from her.

"It's like you used to always say goodnight to me before bed, but lately even though we share the same dorm you don't and well even though we are in the same house we never seemed to wait for each other, so we can walk to lessons together." Angel pouted, she couldn't believe she was actually crying over this, she turned away from her sister so she couldn't see the tears falling.

Of course drama happened. Angel was very sensitive and emotional and frankly AJ was just not about that life. She decided to ignore the fact that her sister said that she wasn't speaking to her even though technically she just did. "Why are you being cross with me?" What could she have possibly done this time? The last time she had checked, she had managed to stay out of trouble and that was a feat in itself. "We've been busy Angel. It's nothing against you." Besides the term was still fresh. They haven't even been to all the different subjects yet.

So she didn't say goodnight a couple of times, was that really something to get your knickers in a twist over? AJ didn't think so, but apparently her sister did. "I'm sorry you feel that way Angel. We can always go and do something fun during our off time." Come to think of it AJ hadn't even seen Abby since their lessons. "You're the one who always leaves me before the lessons." It was true. Aubrey was late to Astronomy and had to meow at the professor to avoid getting in trouble. Herbology was almost the same thing.

Angel giggled at her sister. "I not cross." Angel had stopped crying and had gone to the sink and wiped her face. "I was just upset we haven't seen each other much." Angel smiled as she gave her sister a massive hug. "And I'm just a bit cross with myself for calling Benny cutie." Angel was sure he was going to hate her forever for that.

"I know we can and I can't wait to see what you have planned for us." Angel hoped it was going to be something fun, but not something that could get her into trouble, she didn't want to get into trouble. "I'm sorry, how about the next lesson we have we arrive together." Angel thought it would be cool if they could and she really wanted it to happen.

"Good." She was glad that she wasn't going to have to have THAT argument with her sister. "I know, and we will fix that." AJ really wasn't trying to avoid her or anything, it was just that she had so much going on that she wasn't realizing how much time they weren't spending together. "How about we make a fort in the dorm and have snacks and catch up?"

She looked at her sister questionably when she brought up Benjamin. "So what is going on with you two?" She knew that Angel liked him which was kind of weird to her because she had no interest in boys that way. They were cool to hang out with, but that was about it.

Angel beamed at her sister. "THAT SOUNDS LIKE AN EPIC IDEA!!" Angel had chocolates and things in her trunk in the dorm. "I have sweets and things in my trunk." Angel beamed. "I wonder if we can sneak anything from the kitchen." Angel smiled as she thought about the great time they would have together.

"Oh nothing much." Angel blushed. "I just keep tripping up when he's around and things like that, nothing to worry about, I still think most guys are nice but well they do have cooties you know, but Ben doesn't, he's a great boy." Angel could feel her heart skip a beat as she thought about him.

AJ was glad that her sister seemed thrilled with her idea. "We can do that tonight if you'd like." Chocolates sounded good and she really did want to catch up with her sister. "Oooh yeah, let's do that." She hoped Angel knew how to get food from the kitchens because she didn't... not that, that would keep her from doing it though. "Too bad Abby can't join us." They would have to figure something else out for her to be able to come. "Maybe we could do something like this on the grounds so she can come next time."

The first year tried to ignore the blush. "I've noticed," she said a bit teasingly. "Benjamin is cool and I don't think you have anything to worry about." He seemed like a nice guy and he didn't seem the type to make fun of her or anything. "Boys don't have cooties silly girl." Sure, Aubrey didn't want to date one, but she liked having lots of boys for friends. If anything she seemed to get along better with them.

Angel was beaming with excitement now. "That would be amazing." Angel really wanted to do that, she thought it would be cool. "I know but we can have a picnic with Abby on the grounds one day and find out all about Ravenclaw." Angel couldn't wait to find out all about what the Ravenclaw Tower was like.

"He is." Angel beamed. "He's a cutie-pie really don't you think?" Angel really thought he was and she hadn't realised she had used the cutie-pie nickname. "Oh some of them must have." Angel said truthfully, seriously didn't her sister know this.

AK couldn't help but to grin from ear to ear at her sister's excitement. "We'll do it then. Maybe we should go check out the kitchens and see how easy it will be to get some food." They needed to be prepared because a party without food just really wasn't a party was it? "That sounds good. It has been freezing lately though. Maybe we could have a campfire or something." Yeah, she didn't know if the groundskeeper would go for that, but she could always ask. "I can't wait to hear was Ravenclaw is like either."

Errr... she didn't know about the whole cutie-pie thing. "He's okay." It was nothing about him that she didn't like, it was just that she didn't think there were any boys that were "cutie-pies." Then again AJ wasn't the sappy and sensitive type. "If anything I think Adi is pretty cool." He was the coolest guy that she had met so far. They had so much in common.

Angel smiled at her sister. "AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!" Angel beamed, she really wanted to do this now and have a party with Abby. "I think it would be funny if we have a campfire, I'll ask the groundskeeper next time I am out and about." Angel didn't think the groundkeeper would mind, it wasn't like it was anything dangerous. "I agree we should."

"He's more than okay, he's the only boy that is worth your time." Angel said dreamily as she thought about her cutie-pie but was brought back down to earth when Adi was mention. "You do know that he's mean right." Angel didn't know how to tell AJ this. "He was very rude to me at the whomping willow."

"Oh, and we can have a karaoke night like we used to at home." She laughed at the thought of singing loudly in the common room. "That is of course if we don't annoy everybody." Not that she really cared personally it was just that she didn't want anybody complaining on her or her sisters. "Maybe that's something we can do on the grounds." On second thought.

"Do you want to be his girlfriend or something?" Her sister was over there practically drooling down the front of her shirt just thinking about the third year. AJ was taken aback by the next thing that came out of Angel's mouth. "Adi's mean? No way! What happened?" She had no idea how Adi and mean could be used in the same sentence.

Angel smiled at her sister. "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS MY FRIEND, AND WE'LL KEEP ON FIGHTING TO THE END!!" Angel sang loudly for her sister. "I miss doing that at home." Angel was really happy now. "Yeah maybe it would be best on the grounds somewhere." Angel giggled.

"No...." Angel blushed. "Of course not, I just want him to be a good friend." okay so maybe she did want to be more than good friends but he was older and she wasn't sure he would want to go out with her even if she asked. "He shouted at me and was plain mean for no reason what so ever." Angel pouted.

AJ laughed as Angel started to sing. "That reminds me of baseball. I miss playing so much." They could probably do that here too. Of course there was so much else that was keeping her busy lately that she wasn't sure if she would ever get around to that anyway. "We will just have to catch Abby at dinner or something and get her to go." They could have their party in their dorms tonight.

The blush did not got unnoticed. "Are you sure about that? She play poked her sister on her shoulder. "I don't think age matters so much. Plus, you are awesome... don't sell yourself short." She wouldn't go as far as to advise her to ask him out or anything, but she needs to know her worth.

Angel giggled at AJ. "I know I like baseball and I miss it." She didn't like it as much as her sister, she was more into garden and things but at the minute things were awesome at the school. "I think we will have to do that, I'll nudge you if you forget sis." Angel beamed.

Angel looked at her sister. "I'm.... I'm." Angel couldn't say it. "Okay so he would be a hunk to have as a boyfriend but well I'm sure he's got plenty of girls already asking him out, you know older girls. "Awe thanks sis, your amazing too." Angel hugged her sister some more.

"There's a lot of things that I miss, but Hogwarts is cool. It's a whole new adventure." AJ was learning so much new cool stuff that it was definitely evening out the stuff that she was missing back home. "Thanks sis." She didn't think that she would need that nudge, but you never knew.

"Now you're talking." Aubrey could see right through that front that Angel was trying to put up. "Want me to talk to him for you?" She could totally play matchmaker you know. "Whatever you want me to do." Or she didn't have to talk to him at all. That would totally be Angel's call.

The whole Benjamin thing was completely making her forget about the conversation they were having about Adi. "What are you going on about Adi for? Spill it Angel." Nobody was going to mess with her sister and get away with it. Adi treating her sister badly was a hard pill to swallow.

Angel smiled at her sister. "Okay, so I like him, I really do." Angel beamed. "Hey I wonder if that would work or if he would think you were me or something weird." Angel giggled. "I think it would be cool if you would and told him how cool and nice I am." Angel hugged her sister.

"He snapped at me and told me I wasn't a brave Gryffindor, I think he was implying I wasn't worthy of the Gryffindor House, it wasn't nice, plus he glared at me, I thought he was going to jinx me." Angel sighed as she looked at AJ, she wasn't sure if she should tell her this, it might upset her sister after all Adi was good friends with AJ.

"Angel and Benny sitting in a tree..." she started singing teasingly. "I'm only kidding sis. It's cute seeing you like this." AJ wondered if she would ever feel like that over a boy? Nothing to worry about now because that was the last thing on her mind. AH! The whole face sharing thing would not be beneficial this time. "I'll talk to him sis. Don't worry, he'll know it's me." For one thing she won't be blushing when she saw him and she wouldn't be calling him cutie anytime soon.

Blink.Blink. "Adi did that?" The Gryffindor had several conflicting feelings happening at once. Adi was a very good friend and it was hard to believe that he had a bad bone in his body. On the other hand she knew that Angel wouldn't lie to her. Her blood started to boil. "Anything else you need to tell me about him. Did he do or say anything else?" Adi was going to get it!

Angel blushed a bit and giggled at the same time as her sister teased her. "Oh I'll get you back for this, just you wait and see." Angel smirked evilly, her sister would know she was playing with her because well they knew everything that each other did, they always knew when one was in trouble or when one needed the other.

"He did." Angel sighed, "I thought he was cool an all but one day I was at the whomping willow." No need to tell Aubrey about the kiss that she had given Benny right, nope she'd leave that off. "Well it tried to hit me did the whomping willow and then Benny came and warn me and then Adi came and glared at me, you know like the time me and you snuck into the cinema and got caught, well it was like the look papa gave us then." Angel was trying to make her point. "Then he got angry and said a few things and then I left because I was in tears." Yeah he had made her cry.

"I'll be waiting." She was sure that Angel would do something to get her back but she wasn't worried too much. AJ had been known to hand out her fair share of pranks.

"You mean that big tree?" AJ had wandered over to it herself. "It hits? It was a good thing that she managed not to get too close. "He glared at you because his friend save you?" That didn't seem fair. Then it hit her. Adi was most likely not liking the fact that somebody else was getting attention from his best friend. "You cried? What did he say to make you cry?" Her fists balled up and she was sure that Angel would be able to see the change in her. Protective sister activate.

Angel hugged her sister as she listed to her. "Yeah that big massive tree, thumps people." Angel sighed as she thought about what was going on with that massive tree, she really hated it and now she had no idea what to do next with the tree.

"Yeah." Angel pouted as she looked at her sister and gave her the big puppy dog eyes. "I swear I didn't do anything to him." Angel knew her sister would know when she was lying and this wasn't her lying face. "He was very mean." Angel sighed. "I though that he was my friend but he was very mean that day."

"I'd love to see that tree in action." Of course she didn't want it whop anybody, but it would be cool to see it move and stuff. "I'll have to check it out without getting too close of course." AJ made sure to add that little bit in at the end because she didn't want any lectures from her sister.

"I believe you sis." As hard as it was to believe that Adi was mean to her, she knew that her sister wasn't lying. "I'm going to have a talk with him." Nobody was going to mistreat her sister and get away with it.

Angel loved at her sister. "I want to see it in action again myself it was a beautiful sight." Angel giggled. "Maybe we can both go down there one day with Abby." Angel winked at her sister.

Angel was glad, she knew her identical sister would know all about when she was lying and when not, she gave her sister a massive hug because she loved her sister so much and missed her. "Thanks, I hope you can find out what's wrong with hi, I don't like seeing him like this, he's normally so nice."

"That sounds good. Maybe we can get Abby down there too." It would be nice to be able to do something with the other triplet as well. She wondered why the tree moved for Angel and not her. Maybe it was because Aubrey hadn't managed to get close enough to it. The first year would find out for herself sooner or later.

AJ hugged her sister back, and held on a little longer than normal because she knew that Angel really needed it. She was homesick and already having problems with some of the kids here so she hoped her hug said a thousand words that she had never actually spoken. "Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this because you're right, that just doesn't seem like Adi." She wondered if her assumption was right. "I'll make sure that he gives you an apology too." It was only right.

Angel was glad when her sister hugged her, she had been needing one for ages and her sister always knew it, they had the same brain she thought sometimes. "Thanks Sis I totally needed that." Angel then looked at her sister and nodded at everything else she was saying.

Angel was about to reply when she suddenly remembered something. "I have to go now sis, I'll speak to you later." Angel gave her sis one last hug and without waiting to hear what her sister had to say, she legged it out of the bathroom.

Arithmancy toga
 

Penelope entered the bathroom with the toga that she had been instructed to wear for the arithmancy lesson and went into a stall to change. How was she supposed to wear this? She tried to put it on several times, but couldn't figure it out. Getting frustrated with the toga, Penelope tried again. After a few minutes, she was able to figure it out and put it on. Leaving the bathroom, Penelope tripped on her toga and fell down. Untangling herself, Penelope got up, this time hitching up the toga so she wouldn't trip.

Carrying her toga, Jasmine entered the girls' bathroom. She put in on with a little difficulty and a little help from her classmates. Jasmine imagined that she looked totally ridiculous and she was embarrassed to come out of the bathroom. Then she figured that everyone else proably looked as crazy as she did so she guessed it would be OK. Jasmine gathered up her clothes and went back to the classroom.

A toga.

A freaking toga.

Couldn't they have just DISCUSSED togas if the professor thought they related to Arithmancy that much? Sophie didn't think she'd look very good in a toga, but whatever. "Hi," she said, passing by a few others about to change into their togas, too. She ducked into a stall, got properly dressed, and then re-emerged.

Well, off to class it was. She sighed softly then left the bathroom.

"This is ridiculous," Beverly mumbled to herself as she entered the bathroom, the hideous thing draped over her shoulder. Why the toga? If it related to the lesson of the day why couldn't they just see a picture of one?

Ugh.

Going into one of the stalls, she shut it with a defined click. It'd better match her Converse shoes. She wasn't changing out of those.

Entering the bathroom, Penelope ran into one of the stalls. Overwhelmed by everything that had happened, feeling really horrible for what she had done, and feeling sick to her stomach, she threw up into the toilet. She flushed the toilet, then snuck out of the stall to wash her hands. Who knew what kind of bacteria and other germs might be on that toilet? Looking around to make sure that no one had seen her, she locked herself in the stall again and cried. She had been so mean to Kyroh. It was her who should be using her Ravenclaw brain. Penelope continued to cry. There was no way she would be going back to that History of Magic lesson.

Noooo one everrrr came to visit pooooor, miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiserable, loneeeeely old Moaning Myrtle any more.

Today felt like an exception. Only it waaaaaaaaaas not. It was ruuuuuude how girls had entered, changed into funny clothes, and then LEFT without so much as a glance her way.

Oh wooooooooooooooooooooooooooe was she!

She had been floating about the rafters above when some boo-hoo-ing Ravenclaw had entered. She made loud sniffly noises until the Ravenclaw girl seemingly locked herself into HER cubicle. CRYING.

Myrtle knew what was up. Mmmhmmm.

"Come to make fun of fat, ugly, miserable Moaning Myrtle, have you?" she jeered as she spiraled down from the rafters towards the girl waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaailing along the way down.

She was just about to go when she noticed smudged eyeliner, well then. Leaning closer to the mirror she began to fix it, just as she heard a door and noticed in the mirror that it was the headmistress. Giving her a beaming smile she continued to fix her liner. "Oh everything is just brilliant. I'm loving it here." Her enthusiasm bouncing off the walls in her happy tone. "The cold could go away so the animals will stop with their noise and anxiety, but I can't blame them. It's just horrible." Her failed SNAC meeting proved that.

"How are you today headmistress?" Looking fabulous as always Cassie noticed and her shoes, were just amazing. "Has something changed since I was here as a student? I mean I don't remember the winters being this harsh." Was it all that global warming the muggle news was going on about? The blonde never really paid attention to that kind of news. Plus that sort of news was never in the Quibbler. Now that was her news.

Penelope was crying in one of the cubicles when she heard someone speak. If it was someone from the history of magic lesson, she would not come back to the lesson. If it was not someone from the lesson seeing if she was alright, or if she would come back to the lesson, could it be someone here to make fun of an ickle firstie crying in the loo? She was angry with herself for yelling at Kyroh, but that anger could easily be brought out on whoever had spoken. "Go away," she said angrily, and then continued crying. "I'm not coming back to the lesson," she sobbed, still thinking that it might be someone from the history of magic lesson.

That wailing... It could only be Moaning Myrtle. Was it Moaning Myrtle who had spoken to her? It wouldn't do to tell Myrtle to go away. This was Myrtle's bathroom, after all. "Oh, it's you," she said, looking up at Myrtle. "Go flood the bathroom, Myrtle." Penelope was still in a bad mood, and didn't care if Myrtle flooded the bathroom. She was in such a foul mood that she would be willing to assist Myrtle in flooding the bathroom. Pointing her wand away from her, she cast aguamenti on the floor, quietly saying the incantation. "Aguamenti." Who needed Myrtle to flood the bathroom? They could have a bathroom flooding party.

Samantha entered the girls' bathroom to find water all over the floor. Had Moaning Myrtle been up to her old tricks again? Sam was ready to have a few stern words with that ghost when she thought she heard crying in one of the cubicles.

Samantha softly knocked on the door and whispered "Is everything okay in there?" She noticed that her shoes and socks were getting wet so she pointed her wand at them and performed a Drying Charm on them.

You know who was worse than Olive Hornby? THIS GIRL TELL HER TO GO AWAY. SHE had been the one to come into HER, MYRTLE'S, bathroom so SHE should GO AWAY.

Letting out another shrill wail, Myrtle zoomed so her transparent nose was nearly touching the Ravenclaw's. "OH! I see how it is!" she moaned while folding her arms across her chest. Why couldn't some attractive living BOYS come in here. Like the two who had been in here years ago. THEY TREATED HER WITH RESPECT AND HADN'T TOLD HER TO GO AWAY! "Trying to kick me out of my own loo!"

Myrtle passed through the Ravenclaw, wiggling and waving her arms to make sure to cause the most discomfort to the LIVING girl as she did, and zoomed towards the nearest loo just as yet ANOTHER Ravenclaw showed up.

"EVERYTHING. IS. JUST. PEACHY!"

SPLASH! Into the loo Myrtle went, splashing toilet water all over.

Water was still flowing from Penelope's wand when Myrtle wailed and came even closer to Penelope. It sounded like Myrtle was not happy about being told to go away. Penelope didn't want to kick Myrtle out of her own loo, she just didn't like the ghost being so close to her. Myrtle was already in Penelope's personal space area, not that she could do anything about it because Myrtle was a ghost. "Is this your cubicle Myrtle? Sorry, I didn't know."

Then, Myrtle passed right through Penelope, giving her an icy chill. If she thought that Myrtle was close to her before, she was wrong. "Eeeee!", Penelope squealed as Myrtle passed through her. She did not like it when Myrtle passed through her.

Penelope curled up in a ball on the wet floor, crying and sniffling.



The wet, crying ball on the floor that was Penelope paused her sniffling for a moment when she heard someone speak. Was everything okay? No, this sniffling, crying, wet ball of a first year was not alright. Not to mention that Myrtle had just passed through her. "No, I'm not okay," she sniffled.
