Round Two, Task One

http://i1247.photobucket.com/albums/...ps43bdb54f.jpg

As you step into the arena, the gates behind you creak shut. You find yourself facing the rear of what appears to be the Hogwarts Express. A dim, flickering light in the last compartment catches your attention and you notice the door is open, seemingly inviting you inside...

Please Note: Only Ström Svensson and Karina Wozniacki, as well as approved staff accounts, have permission to post in this thread. Hogwarts and Beauxbatons competitors: NO PEEKING! KEEP OUT or you WILL be penalized!

The Hogwarts Express. Hmmm. This task would be interesting, no? She looked over her shoulder at Ström and smiled. Hop on aboard then? She flipped back around and boarded the train, paying no mind to the flickering light and already tugging out her wand.

Ström Svensson 11-12-2013 03:45 AM

Ström's eyebrows were raised as he followed Karina into the arena for their task. He thought this was supposed to be Charms and History of Magic.....? Unless this was... okay no WAY would they... would they?

Starting to get a bad feeling about this task, he returned his girlfriend's smile and followed her onto the train, pulling out his own wand.

Once you enter the train, the door behind you shuts closed. Not three seconds later, the train slowly begins to move forward. But that’s not the most interesting thing; You’ll find a piece of parchment floating in front of you that reads:

All stories I have told,
Goblins revolting and
Mysteries unfold,
Mine ends with a beast
And a girl whose wits
saved the boy that lived

On the other side of the compartment, you’ll notice another piece of parchment marked with the words Who Am I?: is pasted to the door with a self-inking quill floating nearby. But before you can move forward, your attention catches on something... slithering beneath one of the benches. As the train picks up in speed, a large snake, roughly 12 feet long and thick as a grown man’s thigh appears before the opposite door. However, it makes no attempt to harm you, only hissing if you try to come to close. You might be wise not to push her buttons, though.

Whoa there was so much to see! Karina's eyes darted from one thing to the next before finally resting on the snake. Being a noticer, she had noticed that first and returned to it after reading the riddle once over. She took a step forward towards it, and soon realized what the snake was there for. "Watch out for the snake, Ström, " she said even though he probably had already seen it, she could still warn him just in case. Finally taking her eye off the slithering creature, she turned to the riddle.
Text Cut: RIDDLE
All stories I have told,
Goblins revolting and

Mine ends with a beast
And a girl whose wits

It bothered her a touch that it didn't quite rhyme, but she brushed it off and focused.
Well anything referring to a "boy that lived" was referring to Harry Potter. So Harry Potter era then. But then there were the Goblin Revolts, that happened way before Potter.... Could it be the Three Broomsticks? There was a Goblin Revolution there. But it didn't quite fit in with the other information. "What do you think of this?" she asked her Ström after a long thoughtful pause.

Ström Svensson 11-14-2013 03:55 AM

As the train began moving, Ström heard a strange hissing sound. Maybe a window had been left open....?

Nope snake. "Thanks." Because he'd heard it, but not seen it. Not that not seeing seemed to have mattered much, since it seemed to be sitting there. Just sitting there. Not even trying to come after them. Interesting.

Oh, there was a riddle? He scanned it quickly and then read it again. "Has to be refering to something that happened during the Harry Potter era..... maybe during the second wizarding war?" That's what it seemed to be, anyway. With the boy-who-lived stuff.

Karina Wozniacki 11-14-2013 02:11 PM

Karina's mind went off the snake and fully onto the riddle. Harry Potter era indeed.... But it didn't make sense with some of the other things like Goblins Revolting. Karina certainly didn't remember any rebelling goblins from class. On top of all that, this was a person. Who ended in a beast? The Swede let her eyes roam over the compartment again, coming to a stop on the snake. Oh yeah. The snake was still here. She just continued thinking about the riddle semi-mindlessly until her brain caught the hint. The snake. Didn't Nagini the snake become Bathilda Bagshot? It would make sense, and she certainly fit the rest of the riddle. She wrote stories. The goblin wars, she ended as a snake, Harry Potter was saved by a girl of wit (Hermione Granger), it all fit! She turned to her partner excitedly. "Could it be Bathilds Bagshot?" she asked, her eyes lighting up until they found the snake again. History of Magic and Charms. They still had to get rid of the snake. She raised her already out wand higher and "Aresto Momentum!" shot a spell towards the enemy. That's a charm that would keep it still, no?

The Narrator 11-14-2013 06:25 PM

Since the snake was not making an attempt to come toward you, your spell has no effect on it. She still continues to hiss and guard the door and the second piece of parchment: your key to get out.

Karina Wozniacki 11-15-2013 03:06 AM

Karina took a step towards the snake after her spell failed. It was obvious that the paper was the way out, but she had no clue as to how to get to the paper. If they were going to write any answer on the paper, including Bathilda Bagshot, shWould a summoning spell work here? "Accio paper," she said firmly, hopeful. If it didn't she would let Ström try to get the paper while she attempted to go for the snake barring their way once more. The answer was Bathilda Bagshot, right?

The Narrator 11-15-2013 04:08 PM

The summoning charm does not work on the paper. The more you stand there, the more impatient the snake grows. She hisses louder, extending her long neck threateningly. It seems there is one thing you must do first before you can escape.

The Narrator 11-16-2013 07:28 PM

The train around you starts to rattle around you, when suddenly... poof! It vanishes into thin air. You find yourself standing in the middle of the arena and the gates open again. Unfortunately, you did not finish your task in time.
