What sort of official pajamarama is ever complete without a mattress slide? Your Prefects and Captains clearly know the must-haves of slumber parties in and out, so it's no surprise to find a steep, smooth slope awaiting your arrival at the next station you visit.
Well? What are you waiting for? Kick off your slippers and choose yourself a fluffy feather mattress, available in every size and color that you could imagine. When you're ready to surf, don't hesitate to ask for a good, hearty push from one of your student leaders stationed nearby.
Or give THEM a sneaky push instead. Either way works, really.
OOC: Roleplay your character grabbing a mattress and making their way to the top of the slide. The mattresses will automatically restock, so don’t worry about running them out. Feel free to team up with a friend or be creative with how you slide, but please keep in mind that while the slope is smooth and hard, the mattresses are charmed to keep their users from falling off at all times. This means that no injuries should occur.

Practice, eh? "And practice makes perfect. I guess that means you're an expert now?" And also that he'd make sure she didn't fly off the mattress, right? Right. The blonde wandered over and grabbed herself a particularly fluffy one, dragging it right up to the edge. She was seated now too, did he see? "Ready when you are, Summers." Maybe.
And Tag and Lottie seemed awfully cozy, didn't they? Especially since they were both now flopped on a mattress. That was one way to mattress slide, she guessed. Ella simply shook her head and smiled to herself. It was definitely going to be an interesting term.

Lottie wasn't taking forever to do this, it was the leprechaun who was taking forever and ever since he wasn't following instructions, see? They would've been done by now if he'd listened to her, but noooooooooooooo, of course not.
Merlin, Tag, why do you do this? Suspicious looking? Lottie just laughed, rather loudly, too, and may have blushed a little (because of laughing, okay?) before noticing Alec nearby. HI SEEKER!BOY!
The Hogwartian was waving back at him and perhaps waiting for Tag to finally get on the mattress since they had nothing else to discuss about it when suddenly she was completely being dragged towards it! GASP. "TAG!" How was the little leprechaun so strong?! And how come no matter what she did she couldn't break free?! Alec? Help?! Although, really, for whatever reason she actually felt like laughing, but nothing was working within her, so... there's no way of knowing how the next thing happened, but she fell on the mattress... there's a likely chance that Tag may have fallen with her, since she was actually clinging to his arm when it happened.
We really don't know, though. But we're never waving at Alec again.

Squirming slightly Tag continued to drag her along. La de la de da. Fun, isn't it, Lottie? Eventually Tag finally got onto the mattress, or more like slipped with Lottie because she had tripped on it? And landed face first onto it. "LOTTIE!" He said her name in the same manner she had with his.
This mattress was really soft. Good job people. Good job.
"Hold onto your..." Tag looked around. There wasn't exactly anything to really hold onto. "Well... just have fun."
And with that the boy started moving his free hand against the slide, moving his hand more and more rapidly until they were off and going moving in smooth zig zags and spins.
Taylor wandered down to the mattress slide. She looked around, checking it out. Tay was looking for anyone that she knew. Taylor messed with her blue pajamas, thinking of a certain boy that shall be nameless as she sat down by the edge of the event for a few moments. Tay was a bit cold and tired but she was having fun. Feathers were in her hair from the pillow fight in the bounce house with Harvey. Tay didn't even bother to shake her hair out... though if the boy she liked comes her way, she would make sure to do it as fast as possible.

She smiled at the younger girl. ”Hey, long time no see Alexa… how have you been?” Tay eyed the slide, kinda wanting to go down it but didn’t want to leave the girl who just sat next to her especially since it has been a long time since they talked. ”Anything new or excited happening?” Taylor tilted her head and looked at her with a smile then looked back at the slide thingy. ”How do you like the event so far? Taylor wiggled her toes and laughed as the bunny ears of her slippers flop back and forth. Tay clicked her heels together, looking back at Alexa. She forgot that she was all covered in feathers so every time she moved or there was a breeze, a feather or two would come off her and float in the air, landing on the ground around her. ”is this your first stop oooooooor…”

Hold onto what, exactly? Haha! Yeah, there's kind of nothing to hold onto, except the mattress itself... and Tag. So, Lottie will definitely be holding onto the leprechaun this time. Willingly. Not like when he dragged her onto the mattress, yeah? There's a chance she's never gonna let this go.

Tay tilted her head, ”Aww… do you need to rant or anything?” Taylor shrugged again and blushed, ”Well… You could say that…” She tried to hide her blush by messing with her blonde curls. ”I mean… well… I don’t know…” Tay kept blushing and started to think about her answer, which caused her to blush a lot more… which probably made it obvious what it would be about. Taylor looked at her and raised an eyebrow, ”You were dragged here?” She frowned slightly, ”Who is Cassia? I don’t think I have met her before…” Tay tailed off and tilted her head, ”May I ask why you don’t want to be here?” Taylor shrugged, yet again. ”It has been fun so far… I had a pillow fight with Harvey and Claudette and soon I will be making a stuffed animal with Lily so… yeah… I guess I am enjoying it more…” Tay frowned at that statement then looked at Lex when she said that she was looking for someone. ”Oh who? And she was laughing as they went this way and that way on the slide. Their mattress going near over the edge, but slowly sliding back to the center so that they were more balanced.
Uhhhh.... Ok, Lottie, just hold onto Tag then? He shrugged at it though. The little boy didn't care. This was so much fun, and he turned to face her and smiled widely! More and more swishing forwards dangerously. In fact, at one point half of Tag's body slipped over to the side so that he was half clutching onto the mattress' edge and his legs were hanging over the surface of the slide.
Carefully manuvering himself and wiggling out of Lottie's grasp, and nearly tripping at the same time, and of course, having to watch out for Lottie, Tag did his best to stand up. What was the point of mattress sliding if you didn't do it with style? So, his legs coming underneath him, and his little hands hanging over the mattress, Tag finally got up, though he didn't notice that his feet were...well...sorta pulling on Lottie's hair. "Mr. Unicorn Mattress slides with STYLE!" He called out loudly.
Hitting a new turn, Tag's body was caught off guard and he fell back onto the mattress.

... Wait. Pause. "Who's going to push us down the slide?" he asked, looking past her and over at... HEY! HULK! How had he not noticed her before? He grinned and waved enthusiastically at the girl. Were the prefects/captains meant to be doing this or...?

Alexa had intentionally chosen to ignore the talk of breakups. She'd heard enough about relationships, liking people and rejection. So DONE. What she did focus on was the talk about NEWTs and it being her last year. Wow...where did all the time go? She remembered meeting the girl back in her first year, back then, it seemed like the girl had forever until she had to graduate but not now, now it was obvious she would be leaving.
Er...ranting. Lex gave a firm shake of her head. "It's not something I'd admit in public and I'm trying to forget about it anyway so talking about it wouldn't help with that." She was going for completely forgetting here...hold on...was Taylor sitting over there blushing? Sweet merlin, someone tell her she was just imagining things! Blushes could only mean so many things and at the moment they weren't talking about anything embarrassing, clearly not, just look at the smile! Lex wanted to get up and walk away while she had her sanity but she was the one who'd sat in the first place so to be polite she stayed.

Profy Brunette was fine. This Ravvie Brunette can see that. She wasn’t quite sure why she offered to help in the first place, when this young one could barely reach for the mattress she wanted on her own.

Then another Professor came around... dressed as a frog. Oh no wait, those slippers were a dead giveaway. Huxley gave a smirk as she stood back a bit to let the adults pick through the mattress pile. Adults... TALL adults “Can I have the mattress at the tipity top of the pile?” Cue puppy dog eyes.
Oh pillow flyingandcouldhitherface! She winced out of reflex before realizing it was just being waved about—by Kendall. Huxley’s face softened a bit at her fellow Claw. “Oh hello Kendall.” Dark eyes now recognizes the shaped pillow “Is that a pillow pet?” She didn’t expect to see those around this side of the magical divide. Then again, neither did she with giant slides.

Dangerous? You got that right! This thing was extremely dangerous. Mattress sliding, that is. Especially when Mr. Unicorn is part of it. If only he could stay put and not lose his balance at ALL times. Honestly, though, she completely let go of him because he was such a hazard. Yet she still knew she was going to be fine. The feeling of sliding could be fun, though not as liberating as falling into the lake like they'd done in that Astronomy lesson. THAT had been incredible. Except for the cold water.
He didn't even let her sit! She'd been trying to sit this whole time and NO, she couldn't. This mattress sliding thing was done on your own, definitely, because this wasn't working, not when you were trying not to get hit by a moving leprechaun, yeah?? He was no real leprechaun, but whatever. AND THEN...

How do you even stop this thing? Where was her wand? The only thing she could of was, of course, freeing her hair, and... there's a big chance that the reason Tag fell was actually because of Lottie trying to accomplish this. And she did! Only to cover her face and hoping to dear Merlin that Tag hadn't landed on her.
Sliding, turns, mattresses, leprechauns. DO NOT, we repeat, do not combine these things EVER.

Ever since he'd heard such a thing existed, Mo was interested in mattress sliding. No... mattress racing. No... mattress surfing races, even. As in he was going to ride that mattress standing upright, and he was going to challenge someone to race him down the incline.
He eyed those waiting speculatively and was pleased to spot his girlfriend, an Alice, and a Lex in attendance. Among others. He was tempted to forgo the surfing for now in order to slide down tandem-style.
"Cupcake girlfriend. Other people." Mo gave them all solemn nods. He needed to keep game face on until he made it to the front of the line. "Anyone want to race?"

If only he could stay put and not lose his balance at ALL times. Honestly, though, she completely let go of him because he was such a hazard. Yet she still knew she was going to be fine. The feeling of sliding could be fun, though not as liberating as falling into the lake like they'd done in that Astronomy lesson. THAT had been incredible. Except for the cold water.

This mattress sliding thing was done on your own, definitely, because this wasn't working, not when you were trying not to get hit by a moving leprechaun, yeah?? How do you even stop this thing? Where was her wand? The only thing she could of was, of course, freeing her hair, and... there's a big chance that the reason Tag fell was actually because of Lottie trying to accomplish this. And she did! Only to cover her face and hoping to dear Merlin that Tag hadn't landed on her.

Unfortunately, the mattress stopped when it had reached the bottom of the slide, and Tag laid on his back, breathing hard. He put his hands up and gave Lottie a thumbs up, though his head didn't have the energy to lean forward to look at her. "THAT WAS AWESOME! AGAIN!"
But before that, with great random energy, cause yes, the mattress hadn't tired him out, the boy got up before his friend could complain, got off the mattress, pushing it from the edge of the slide and grabbing its edges he began to drag the mattress in circles. At first, Kendall was just watching as people were selecting their mattresses and even attempting to slide. She’d been waiting for the people she’d sort of addressed to reply anyhow, and it was much more amusing to watch the sliding than to stand there looking at people awkwardly. It was more exciting, and excitement was almost as good as chocolate. Almost. She still hadn’t gotten distracted enough to forget that she had that as well, but for now it was more amusing to let her pillow pet flap its wings at people and watch the sliding. That, and eye another professor as he had wandered over, amused. “Hi Professor Flamsteed,” she said with a smile, her hazel eyes watching his mattress selection process before she realized that Professor Bentley had spoken to her again. Turning back to the Herbology professor, she grinned. “Awesome… Okay,” she said, wondering if the professor was secretly nervous. She didn’t think it was possible that she was planning on watching her for pointers. Maybe Professor Flamsteed could go with Professor Bentley if needed.
As it was, she had people her own age to address again before she chose a mattress to slide herself. She couldn’t use her pillow pet as a mattress after all, and she wouldn’t even if it was possible. “Hey Katrina,” she returned, giving the Head Girl another big grin. “Sure. I’m not just going to stand here watching everyone else slide.” Even if it looked that way right now. Any good ninja superhero knew it was better to choose her moment. That was all she was doing, along with apparently almost hitting Huxley mid-pillow-pet-wing-flap, and she turned an apologetic look to the younger girl before it relaxed as she realized there was no harm done. That was another rule of superheroes. They didn’t randomly injure bystanders, at least not normally. Huxley was a mystery, but not a villain or a zombie.
“Hi,” she returned, the smile returning as well. “Yep. I’ve had it for ages, but it’s sort of a security thing, I guess.” Not to mention awesome because it was a butterfly. She’d learned something else from the dark-haired girl, too. She knew about pillow pets, and she was weirdly suspicious about food offers. Even when it was chocolate, which was definitely weird. She never had bad chocolate, so there was no reason to be suspicious of it. Yet she wasn’t left to try and learn too much more out of random things that the other girl let slip, since more people were arriving. “Hey Mo!,” she said in response to the new captain’s nod. “I’ll race you,” she offered. “Well, after…” After the little Puff who had offered first, but she didn’t know his name. Plus, she might’ve had a date to slide with Katrina first anyway. It had seemed like the Head Girl was maybe going to ask her if they could, but then she didn’t really know. It was just a maybe crazy idea that had just occurred to her, and she still had to choose her mattress too.

It was starting to get a little embarrassing, really. He did like the fact that she had scooting closer to him, though. It was nice! Kat stood there for a while and watched as Tag and a Hufflepuff she was quite familiar with, but didn't knot her name, slide down the slope. See? It actually was fun to participate in this mattress sliding activity. And did she hear people wanting to race and stuff? That would be so awesome. Kat's inner kiddo was definitely showing, which was maybe why she wasn't so keen with this event while they were planning it. She didn't want to look immature because she held a position in school. She didn't want to embarrass herself either but this was definitely something she wanted to try out. She just knew that it would be fun because the participants who were already sliding looked happy and stuff. It was great that Kendall was going mattress sliding too. Two is better than one like the song, right? "That's great," Kat said. "I want to try it too. Let's go pick a mattress, yeah?" Because the Head Girl could remember that she found a butterfly-printed one somewhere. Hehe.

So. There was more smiling and giggling going on and Lex wasn't very sure how she felt about it. Knowing Taylor it could only mean one thing and at the moment, that was the last think Alexa even wanted to think about. The idea of getting up and walking away came to mind again but that would have been even ruder now that they were having a proper conversation and all. She put on a smile, trying not to make it bother her but really, if she never heard anything about anyone liking anyone ever again, it would be too SOON.
Finally, the conversation moved to something that wasn't making her fidget or twitch. Good good.
"She's a fifth year Snake, I don't think you'd know her." Cassia had never brought her up before and Cassia talked A LOT so it didn't seem very likely.
As for enjoying it...she would see. Lex looked over at the slide. It was obvious her friend wasn't over here but she'd already come so she might as well. The young Gryffindor hopped up and gave an indifferent shrug. "Yeah, sure I guess."

Clearly out of fire from the other mattress that would soon go through the same path they had, Tag jumped up and down on the mattress, still full of energy, but at least he was giving Lottie the chance to catch her breath, and perhaps let her blurry sight come back to normal vision.
"Party pooper!" could he say that? The boy stopped bouncing on the mattress, gave it a thought, smiled and shrugged at himself. Oh well. He already said it.
Tag got off the mattress now and held onto it's edge. How fun would it be to spin her around again???!!!! But, sighing loudly, he didn't need vomit all over his onesie, cause he believed Lottie could be close to doing that, he stopped all at once. "Heard you loud and clear, Boss!"Another thumbs up.

Psh. She wasn't going to stop pouting anytime soon, y'know. Even though she wasn't really mad, just disappointed. Plus she knew that doing it made Alec want to kiss her and at least they could both suffer together. Now that's what I call love.
"I won't, I promise." But he didn't have to worry, not really. Mattress sliding wasn't her thing. Not even close. Besides, she'd much rather do this with him than against him. It was more fun that way.
And then they were zooooooming down the slope and yes, Ella knew perfectly well where she was sitting. Blonde badger was a bit freaked out, okay? And her hair was blowing all over the place which wasn't exactly pretty, she was sure. She should have braided it or something! Merlin, why do you never think of these things until after the fact? And could Alec see with all that hair in his eyes? But he was shouting something at her about doing this properly and she just sort of laughed, trying to gather her hair so it wasn't blinding her boyfriend. "By all means, show me what to do!"
But they were sort of past the point of no return here, weren't they?
