Easier than potions, too, because most everything is easier than potions/" Except things didn't turn but nearly as tasty when you burned them, but that was okay, she guessed. That was what takeout was for, takeout and fast food. "I can't swim. But I'll sit and watch you and throw those funny pool toys at you."
Like a good girlfriend. | Oh, okay, nope. Alice was going to stay on the floor, which suddenly made hand holding very awkward. Mo released her hand and tried holding her forehead, but then he couldn't look at her properly. He nudged at her with her foot, but he was pretty sure she didn't want to hold his toes.
This was what a boyfriend did. He sat on the floor when a seat would be more comfortable because he didn't want to make his girlfriend hold his toes. He bumped back to the floor and reached for Alice's hand again.
"My sister-who-isn't-a-sister is an excellent baker. Maybe that's why Vivi never bothered to learn, but I kind of liked watching. First bite out of the oven and first to lick the spoon, you know?" Not that he was an amazing cook, but Mo could handle a batch of cookies or such. Perhaps if he made that known, though, he'd be expected to handle most of the cooking, and he sort of thought the draw to staying with Vivi and Selina would be all the unhealthy food they'd be ordering in. Loads of it, he hoped.
"I can teach you to swim, if you want. Or we can find other things to do. It won't be much fun without you." He had no desire to splash around in the pool by himself. |
