HoM Lesson Two: Room Five In this room, there are no riddles. No small cramped space, or blue walls or rain clouds. In fact, this room looks just like the classroom normally appears, and even Scabior is leaning against his desk at the front of the room. "I thought you lot would be a bit quicker." He said with a slight yawn. "Your last task is to write one historical fact of all three of the-" He paused. "-Magical beings that were mentioned and then give the paper to me. Which ever paper I get first and all facts are right, you win." Also....they were dripping in his classroom. Sigh. OOC: So to clear up that is three facts. One for each magical being, and one fact can just be a sentence long.GO |
Arriving in the final room Kurumi nearly shrieked when she saw Professor Scabior there. Oh, so he was going to make his appearance for the lesson...at least he didn't try to scare them or make them float this time...or blind them? Hearing what the man said, Kurumi quickly whipped out a piece of parchment and began to write. SPOILER!!: parchment Finishing, she handed the parchment to the man. |
If the first person to turn something in was... the winner, then Vivi wasn't sure it was worth the effort. Plus she was definitely coming down with something. She trudged to the desk and leaned against it, giving Scabior a stern look before she sneezed violently into her sleeve. Merlin, she was dying here. DYING. SPOILER!!: Final Answer Boom. She slapped the wet parchment on the desk and sneezed again. |
"BOO!" Peeves popped out of the desk as the first person to slap down a parchment... did just that. He cackled and floated out through the girl (ANOTHER Gryffindor), coming to rest above Scabior's head. "You didn't have to suck ME out of the room along with EVERYONE ELSE, Scabby, GEEEEEZ." Peeves twirled Alexa Cambridge's wand through his fingers and made it dance up and down his arms What were they learning in here anyway, hmm? Probably something BORING. This class had once been taught by the likes of BINNS and LAINEY, after all, both of whom were dreadful excuses for ghosts. |
Both girls were basically neck in neck, but Kurumi's hand thrusted the paper out first. Reluctantly, Scabior read her answers over and then just be cause he could, he took a look over at Genevieve's as well. "You have really good answers." Scabior said with a small nod to the blonde. "Unfortunately for you, Miss Hollingberry did get her answers in first." And they were also correct. Sooo. "Hollingberry, you got it. No extra homework for you, congratulations." She should have been FASTER anyways. Since other students would probably be arriving soon, Scabior flicked his wand, making the homework appear on the board not really bothering to give the girls any assistance. They were seventh years. They knew charms that could keep them dry. As many of you were not able to reach the end of the class you would not have realized the main subjects of the lesson. Ghouls, Ghosts and Poltergeist, each magical creature very different from the other. You will write a three parchment (paragraph) essay about one of the following:
"You can leave once you have the homework written down." Not Kurumi of course, but that other one. And everyone else. Except for Alexa. She was going to stay stuck to that wall a bit longe-. Quote:
Scabior simply raised a brow, the last time he checked he didn't stuck Peeves- oh. Hm. "Clearly it wasn't on purpose. Don't let me call the Baron." He threatened, JUST like he did when he was twelve years old and Peeves wouldn't get out of his face. The Poltergeist had never been pleasant. "Go back if you want. I encourage you to have fun with her. Teacher her a lesson if you will, since she missed most of mine. Yeah. Go on Peeves. Go be a Professor. |
Quote:
"NOOOOOOOO thaaaaaaaaaaaaanks," Peeves' usual evil laugh sounded more like a whine at mention of the Baron. He stuck one of his free fingers in his mouth and floated it toward Scabby's ear like he was going to give him a wet willy. "No Baron needed here, Sir, NO SIR! I was just leaving, actually." He popped the wet finger into his box of candy dots instead, swiping up a whole row of dots with the moisture. "I'mma do you a favor, Mr. Professor Teacher Man," Peeves grinned impishly. "And I'm going to leave YOU with that Gryffindork's wand. Cos YOU can do magic with it and YOU can torture her with it. And cos that's YOUR job, not MINE!" What good was a wand to Peeves? NO GOOD, ACTUALLY. He might as well toss the stick into the fireplace rather than wave it around. "'Ere you go!" Peeves cackled and dropped the wand on Scabby's head, zoooooooming out the side window immediately afterward. |
"KYAAAAAAAAAAA!" Kurumi squeaked, stumbling backwards and tripping over nothing in particular when Peeves suddenly emerged from the desk just as she set her parchment down. To make matters worse, the moment she collected herself and stood up again, the poltergeist flew right THROUGH her and caused her already shivering body from the RAIN in the previous room to shiver again. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUG. Somewhat glaring at Peeves, Kurumi noticed that he had a wand in his hands - or sort of in his hands since he was playing with it - and shouting about having fun with a girl. o_______________O "Peeves...whose wand is that?" And WHY had he taken a wand in the first place? Wait, no, this was Peeves...he didn't have a reason. While Kurumi waited nervously for Professor Scabior to Kurumi wasn't sure WHY she had been expecting the man to tell Peeves off, but she ended up dropping her jaw a little when he told the poltergeist to go teach Alexa a lesson. Alexa? Seriously? Merlin why was it always that girl? She was going to get herself suspended again, wasn't she? |
Okay now that was weird... Just when he was shivering in the cold and about to slip in his second answer in the door swung open and pulled him through to this room. Eh what? He stood up, still dripping like wet poodle. He saw the Kurumi and Vivi were already there. As well as Peeves and Alexa (ooc: when she posts lol) Great! Does that mean they were done? Oh Kurumi gets to skip homework. Uhm... lucky? Not in his opinion. All this rushing of the answers in was stressful, not to mention the obstacle course they all went through. He's actually the type who wants to think things through first.... hence Ravenclaw heh. He copied his homework down and started to dry himself off. Ironically after being drenched in the rain he just wants to have a hot shower back at the dorms. "We'll see you around Professor Scabior..." he said to the Historian as he turned to leave. He wasnt quite sure if he wanted to thank the man, perhaps someday, if any of these skills he's learned will actually become useful. |
It had been Max, Vivi, and Kurumi who were all allowed into the room around the same time and got reprimanded by Scabior. Thanks, sir. Max, for one, did not appreciate Scabior's disappointment. Upon being given instructions, Max took out a new piece of parchment and began to write easily... but... he caught Kurumi out of the corner of his eye. She was writing like a mad woman, and Vivi... well, he would rather have Vivi win. There was too much pressure - now that he was here, he would have felt bad beating either of his yearmates. So Max just kind of... took his time to write, veeeery slowly, until one of the girls was done. And... Kurumi was first, closely followed by Vivi. So... Max just folded up his parchment and put it away. No use. It was nice that he got beat by a fellow seventh year, though, rather than a younger student. He couldn't feel too bad about that. The three of them had kept up with each other and led the pack the whole time. That was something to be proud of in itself. "Good job, Kurumi - and Vivi, you, too. Sorry you're... sick?" He patted his housemate on the shoulder and (jokingly) offered her a sleeve to blow her nose. "You guys were great." And he meant it. He was quite happy for them. ...But that meant he had homework. Meh. Max took out the parchment he saw no point in turning into Scabior and used it to write down the homework. He put it back in his bag before giving the professor a small frown and half-hearted wave, then he left the room. |
What even....? Just as Emmanuelle had been about to answer the second riddle in the room she had been in, she was sucked into this room. Which she landed in with a small, wet sounding smack. Ugh, that didn't feel too good. It hurt a little, in fact. Where was she, anyway? Hopefully this wasn't yet another room. She had had about enough of this little game! Of which the point was what? Getting up and looking around, she recognized the History of Magic classroom and the professor leaning against the desk. And apparently, someone had won this little game and they were being dismissed. Awesome. Em performed the drying spell on herself, then quickly copied down the homework. Once she was done, she said "See ya, professor," and then she was gone. |
Okay, he was so disoriented. He had finally managed to stop floating and seeing blue, then he'd been getting soaked. He had been in that fourth rain-room for literally three seconds before getting sucked into this one. Disoriented did not even BEGIN to describe this feeling. "Wait. Whaa..?" Right. So that must've been the last room. He wasn't sure he was even supposed to be in this one, since he hadn't managed the fourth riddle, but here he was nonetheless. And now they had to write down facts. Right, so three beings. Well the ghosts, obviously. But what were the other two? He tried to remember back... He'd missed the last clue, so there was no way he could possibly get this right. He sighed, resigning himself to this fact. Not that he'd ever actually thought he could beat the seventh years. But then after what seemed like only ten seconds, Scabior was announcing a winner. "Alright! Congrats, Kurumi!" the first year beamed. He dutifully took out his planner and recorded the assignment, sure that long hours in the library were bound to be required. He didn't feel like he'd actually learned anything about these beings in this lesson, so this would be a self-taught topic. But the Ravenclaw blood in him that had enabled him to do so well in this game also made him look forward to the researching. Then Peeves arrived. Oh no... He didn't like this thing. At ALL. "Thanks for the fun lesson, Professor Scabior!" he half-yelled in a hasty fashion. He was getting out of here before Peeves did something to get them all hurt! |
Cora didn't know what was going on. One minute she was blinded by light in a blue room, and floating off dangerously, and the next she was in this room. Peeves was causing trouble, but Cora just wanted to catch her breath. Not like any of this was outright SCARY, but Cora was a bit pale for the matter, easily startled as ever. Alright. Focus. Homework. Cora tried to grab parchment to write homework down, but simply spilled things everywhere. Grabbing her things, and maybe leaving some behind, she attempted a small smile at the professor. "Um, thanks Professor. That was...entertaining." Cora could tell she wasn't fooling anyone with her attempt at being nonchalant about everything. She DID actually think it was a good lesson. She just nearly had a heart attack at the end. |
Ira was too busy trying to enjoy the floating and flying to see where she was.. Blue room had gone, she had deposited her answer, and then she had been whisked off to another room where she expected the same. Another riddle. But no, she had just been whisked off on her own to this room. That was great! She got into this room without even answering the previous riddle. Heh! Ira took a few deep breaths, and looked around, relieved that she wasn't the only one feeling a bit sick from all the flying around. A few more deep breaths would be great for her. Wait. Was that Peeves? Ira just heard a few bits of what he was saying... wand.. professor man.. torture? Torture? Still dazed, Ira decided that she must have misheard something. Oh well, it didn't matter! Ira quickly jotted down her homework. Another essay! Gah! "Thanks for the lesson Professor.." and for nearly making her vomit. "The riddles were good!" Actually yes, Ira did enjoy this lecture far more than any actual lecture thing. |
Sarah had arrived at the last room.. that was disappointing as Sarah liked the riddles. She worte down the homework. "Thank You Professor for the lesson... I liked the riddles. Have a good day" she said. She then rolled up all the rolls of parchment she had not used and put it together with the rest of her stuff in her bag |
Minerva was finally pulled into the next room. She was soaked and tired, now what was in store for them. Looking around Minerva was shocked by the way it looked normal then she saw Scabs just looking at them. Looking at them, that was all he could do after setting them in the air then making it rain on them.. Did he not remember it was winter outside, they could get sick from being so wet. She found a seat and listened to him then pulled out more parchment and started writing. Why was there shocked sounds going on, just as she went to look up she heard Peeves.. Really Peeves was here now.. Just what they needed after being through those rooms. Rolling her eyes she started writing again, but Professor Scabiors had them stop. Looking up she sighed and threw her parchment back in her bag and stood up. This was just not her day or maybe just not her class. Headed out the door she smiled at Scabiors, "Have a good day Professor.." then she headed out of the room hoping to get dried off.. |
Eliza was a bit disappointed that she didn't finish the riddles in time, but she copied down the homework anyway, despite wishing she didn't have to do it. Wooooahhh, Peeves! She jumped in her seat as he surprised the classroom. She waddled her soaking, squishy-robed self out the door and gave a quiet, "See you next time, Professor" as she walked out the door. |
