Arithmancy Lesson One: Paragrams {Pythagorean-style} As the Fall weather in Britain was still comfortable outside, Professor Hadley had cracked the windows open a bit to allow a lovely September breeze into the classroom before double checking the room setup: Several neat rows, with desks pushed together in pairs. Once the room was set up in a way she was somewhat satisfied, Fina resumed her customary seat at the front of the room, using her wand to flick the door open. And then another wand flick on the front board: All she needed now was students. Please take your seats and take out your textbooks, quill and parchment. ooc: Lesson has begun. Any posts from now on stating about arrival WILL be punished accordingly, so please simply pretend as though you've been there all along (for your own benefit and your house) Introduction Intro to Paragram topic Practice makes perfect: Pixie's AWESOME example of what you're supposed to do ;D Let's try phrases, shall we? Other stuffage |
Wow, Zara was the first one to enter. She entered the classrom and said to the professor, "Good day, Professor Hadley." with a smile. She took her seat up the front and fumbled in her bag for her textbook, ink, quill and parchment. |

Carter entered the classroom and was meet with the smell of the breeze. He smiled brightly. He knew exactly where to sit. "Hello Professor Hadley." he said as he passed her. He then sat down in a seat right next to the windows. He then looked up at the board, which instructed him to have his textbooks, parchment, and quills ready. He placed everything he needed on his desk and awaited the start of the lesson. |
Helena walked towards the Arithmancy classroom, pretty much cheerful, even though she didn't know why. But... she was also nervous, because she didn't take this class last year. Buuut she'll do great. Entering the room, she smiled at professor Hadley. "Good morning, professor," the girl said, smiling. Then, she eyed an empty seat, somewhere in the front, and sat down, waiting for the lesson to start. |
Cassie strut into the class room with her book bag slung over her shoulder and a pretty smile on her face. She really was not excellent in this subject but she had vowed to give it her best shot this year. Plus there was the fact that Professor Hadley was such a lovely woman, she couldn't bring herself to failing this class, nope. She waved and smiled brightly at the professor. "Good day professor." And she swished her way to her seat in the second row. |
Viola entered the classroom, feeling really good. Happy, in fact. She really hoped this lesson went well. She'd heard that Arthimancy was pretty hard. Anyway, she was sure that she'll do well. She smiled at the professor and greeted, "Good Morning, Professor", before taking a seat near the front of the class. Okay. Now, she was ready. |
Arithmancy had been the lesson he had hoped to get. Daichi didn't know why but even though he was only a first year, he had the feeling he would be good at this subject. He just *knew* it. The snake walked towards the classroom with Mr.Duckles in his bag. He wasn't going to leave it anywhere, he HAD to have the plushed duck with him and entered the classroom without any hesitation. The classroom looked like an ordinary one, not strange..and hopefully a NORMAL teacher... His eyes found the professor and he greeted her with a "Hello professor~! I can't wait to start my first Arithmancy lesson" he then turned around to find a seat and picked one in front of the class. |
Oakey was exhausted, and he looked it too. He was up all night exploring the ship with Mordred plus he scared a boggart away earlier that day which really took it out of him. When he passed the suits of armor to get to the class he gave a weak smile at the one that was still badly dented. *Yawn* Hello Professor Hadley, Oakey said and took a seat in the second row. |
Tiberius entered the classroom, nose buried in the arithmancy journal he'd begun as a first year and had meticulously added to since. He was reviewing old calculations since he wasn't entirely sure what might have been covered at Hogwarts in his absence. "Good day, Professor," he offered, without looking up, still flipping page after page. Even when he didn't really know how useful any of it was, he was still rather good at it and had taken to the subject well. Slipping into his seat, he placed the book down and took out his quill and text. |
Charlie entered the classroom slowly as she didn't know if she was in the right one. She saw some pupils sitting down, taking stuff out of their bags so she figured she was in the right place. "Good day Professor Hadley," Charlie said, nodding her head slightly. She took a seat in the middle of the class and pulled out her textbook, quill, parchment and journal. |
Luna entered the class aritmancy classroom ''Hello proffeser'' said Luna then taking a seat beside her friend charlie |
Ember walked into the class, Yes another one, she was liking classes, they were surprisingly fun. " Hey everybody, she saw Charlie and Luna and sat down next to them. "heya guys." |
Ella marched into the classroom, not in a good mood. 'Hello ~Professor Hadley!' She smiled even so. She didn't know where anybody was so she found a spare table. Dumping down her bag, Ella brought out some parchment and a quill. She set them out infront of her, swept her long curls back and waited.. |
Having made her way up to the second floor, a little smile on her face (every time she didn't have to pass someone who she HAD to glare at) since this was one of her more favorite subjects, the Slytherin girl finally found herself right outside the classroom door. However, she didn't go inside just yet. Nope, she was waiting for a certain someone. A certain someone who was not inside the classroom yet, and yes, she had took a quick peak to see if he was there. Leaning against the way, she |
Walking heavily into the classroom, Stella entered the room. She looked around the room for a moment and said, "Hello Professor." She sat on the closest chair to her. Getting comfortable she took out of her bag the textbook and a few rolled up parchments. "Arithmancy," she thought to herself, "Exactly like maths, but just magical." |
Arithmancy "Hello Professor Hadley."Zenobia said as she entered the classroom full of students.Noticing their where other first years her nerves begin to fade.Arithmancy was not Zenobia's best subject, having some other first years around is a comforting felling.Zenobia made her way to the back to avoid people, but still be noticed by the professor. As she pulled out her quill and two pieces of parchment paper Zenobia waited with her fingers crossed over one another trying to keep her hands still. |

Gwen entered the room full of students. 'Good morning Professor', she announced shortly, and then went to a girl which was sitting alone and asked :'Um..sorry-is this seat free?' |
Ariadne didn't know what to expect of an Arithmancy class. Even if she was a bookworm, the girl was totally hopeless with numbers. Wishing to at least make a good first impression, she greeted politely: 'Hello, Professor Hadley.' Then she looked around. Plenty of seats left. Ari finally decided on a desk towards the middle of the classroom. That was perfect, not too close, not too far. Now she could only wait and see if she'd fail miserably at this subject or not. |
Emily walked quickly to her seat pausing only to say a quick "Hi Professor". She was not in the best of moods after the news she'd just recived. She was (for the first time in her life) not ready to learn. She didn't see the point anymore. She dumped her stuff on her desk and put her head in her hands. She didn't want to have to speak to anyone today. |
Thomas walked into the classroom "Hello Professor Hadley!" He walked over to Ella and Ember and sat down. |
"Hello Professor Hadley!" Kyle smiled as she walked into the room, her personal arithmancy records in her bag. She was going to make sure she did well in Arithmancy as well as every other class this term. She smiled and took a seat near the middle of the class. |
"Hey, Professor Hadley!" She grinned at the professor as she made her way into the classroom. Not her favorite or best class, but definitely one that she enjoyed attending cause of the professor. Arya tugged on her dark yellow sweater shirt as she made her way to a seat by the open window and slipped gracefully into it. If this lesson got to difficult, she'd just let the outdoors distract her. Heh. |

Another thing he had no idea was that the Arithmancy textbook, some parchment and a quill were going to be needed in this class. Well...right. He had participated in this class before and he had used all of those during it but that did not mean they were going to need them in every class, did it? Definitely not. So being so free of the burden of a textbook, parchment and quill, the Gryffindor boy walked to the door of the classroom about to step inside yet totally halted when he saw that prettiness in Slytherin robes standing there. ''Hi!'' he said kindly before approaching the she-snake. ''You look as breathtaking as usual even before a class, in a school uniform'' and right after voicing the last word of his sentence, the lion boy leaned in and kissed her gently. Then after a minute or so, smiling against her lips, he pulled away and glanced at the others walking in the classroom. ''Let's get inside before the class starts. And, well, i am sure you are tired of walking here all the way from the dungeons so...'' Grinning some at her, Josh moved and practically picked her up holding her in his arms. Then he went on his way walking into the classroom happily. ''Good day Professor Hadley!'' Now to choose a perfect desk for themselves... |
The only class Ellie actually used her textbook for was Arithmancy. So, yes, she had it. And she carried it in her hands rather than her bag to keep her camera safe. Priorities. Of course, the notebooks and quills wouldn't do the camera any harm, so they were allowed in there. Plus, it'd be a pain to carry those around. Textbook she could handle, though. She walked into the classroom and greeted Hadley with a, "Hey!" Then she found her way to a desk. Which were in pairs, yeah, she noticed. So they were working in partners? Maybe? That only meant one thing to Ellie, she needn't have brought her text. She could've just looked off of her partner's. Thanks for letting us know, Hadley. Thanks. |
