Marie didn't want to hear anymore of what Evan had to say about Carter so she basically just tuned him out. He of all people should know how she was feeling... after all the same thing had happened to him last summer. Looking up only when a hand touched her face and wiped her tears did she see that it was Evan. How ironic... a year ago it had been Carter soothing her because of what had happened with Evan. Now here was Evan trying and pretty much failing to make her feel better because of what happened with Carter. Really did he have to keep telling her she deserved someone better than Carter? She knew he was only trying to cheer her up but really... he sucked. "You know, you really suck at this cheering a person up thing," she said as she still continued to cry. "Thanks for trying though, but I'm afraid no matter what you say right now it's not gonna work." That was unless he told her everything had been a dream... a VERY bad dream. Then that would make her happy. She knew that wasn't the case though. She had been very much awake when everything happened just two days ago.
