The Stone Gargoyles At the very bottom of the Headmaster's spiraling staircase, there sits two stone gargoyles. Ugly (but in a rather endearing way) and enormous, these creatures keep out those who do not belong. You will not pass this way without a password. Post here if you are waiting, but please do not chat here. The seating area is for conversation. |
Posted next to the gargoyles is the following sign: You can examine it while you wait. |
Posting in both places just to cover all bases. XD Approaching the gargoyle, Jake took in the poster nearby and looked at it without seeing, kind of blinking at the picture. Instead of reading it, Jake just stood tall and waited. ooc :: this is the same clone as this one and I'm posting in both threads to cover mah bases. |
Things got so crazy the end of last term. Sidney never was able to get her camera from Headmaster Tate's office. Okay that was just an excuse to come and bug the headmaster. Sidney is curious to find out why he's still here. He caught the bad guy at least one of them, so why didn't he go back to his regular job of auror. Let's face it the guy hasn't got a clue when it comes to being a headmaster. Sidney figures she has the right to say that to his face since Tate already told Professor Lawson she did last term. That's another thing she's curious about. Why Tate said that to Professor Lawson? Sidney makes her way to the Gargoyle entrance when who does she see: Jake Upstead. Fate seems determined to throw them together. Maybe it isn't totally fate. Sidney is determined she's not going to let this guy get to her this term. She can't help it if he has the manners of a Hungarian Horntail. I haven't done anything to this guy, so I'm not going to let him scare me. Who cares what he meant by that cryptic message about Professor Lawson. Okay, I care, but I'm not going to ask Jake. If he want to tell me he can. I'm also not going to feel sorry or overly protective of him either. He's a fifth year. Jake should be able to defend himself. Right? Enough about Upstead already. Sidney walks over to the poster and looks it over. "I've never thought about Herbology seriously. Professor Bunbury was so imtimidating I guess I never thought I'd want to take more than the mandatory classes. Wonder what careers they'll showcase at this Job Fair?" Sidney figures Jake will just ignore her or threaten her or you know be his usual self. |
The door opened as the gargoyle sprang to the side, inviting the first student to climb the stairs to speak with the Headmaster. OOC: I'm confused about whether Zoe or Alayna should go first 'cause you posted first in different threads. So. Whoever gets here first can come on up, and then I'll see the other one. And then Terry. |
Yeah, Jake ignored Sidney. Mainly because he didn't have a clue what the heck she was going on about. It wasn't until the gargoyle leapt open that Jake reacted at all. He looked around, waiting for the other guy to go first, but then figured 'What the hey?' and stepped up himself. |
Sidney doesn't say a word when the gargoyle opens, and Jake disappears. The guy has all the social graces of a moron. Still those Slytherins shouldn't tease him like that. They aren't much better than Upstead. The Sorting Hat must have made a mistake putting him in Hufflepuff. Jake isn't friendly in the least. |
Santi had been meandering around the corridors to learn the layout of the school and the various rooms that the massive place contained. Spotting a girl waiting beside a statue and posting for a job fair, he decided to stop beside her. So far he'd seen people walking around, but why was one stationed in the middle of the corridor and for no apparent reason for she wasn't reading the sign? Why would such a person be standing there? Waiting for someone? Lost? Santi took a guess, "Waiting for someone?" he asked her as he placed his hands in his pockets and offered a warm smile. He let his eyes then move to the sign of the upcoming job fair more to make it look as though he stopped for a reason. But really? People go to those things? |
The gargoyle moved aside to let Upstead leave, indicating that the next student could proceed up the stairs to Tate's office. ooc: You're up, Alayna. |
Brushing past the gargoyle, Jake rubbed at his leaking eyes and ducked around the other students in the corridor, intending to go straight downstairs to lay in his bed and just... do nothing. Not even practice magic. Hate hate HATE. |
Wow. Gosh I'm sorry. I should have checked here earlier. My bad. >.< XD And all before he could wait for a response Jake was gone. And then two other students, including Santi were present. Time seemed to have fastforwarded for in the next moment Jake was leaving without another word and with tears. Sabel had to blink at the boy before slipping up between the gargoyles and into the Headmaster's office. What had happened? |
Sorry I missed your post. Crazy day to day. The boy is gone before Sidney has a chance to hear what he said. Then Jake comes out of the stairs with tears in his eyes. Sidney wants to chase after him and comfort him, but she's scared to do so. The last time she tried to be friendly to the boy he yelled at her. Things are so easy with Harry. We fight. He yells. I cry, then we make up. I just don't understand Jake Upstead. I apologize for being a clutz. He yells at me. I tell him I'm concerned about him, and he says something crazy. Why do I even care about him? I mean he's a guy, a fifth year. It's so obvious the guy hates me. Why do I care what happens to him? Sidney really needs someone to talk to, and that's so not Headmaster Tate. Sure he's great a saving the day, but he just not someone you ask about boys. Sidney walks around and wonders if she should just leave before Tate even knows she's been here. |
Santi watch as the gargoyle moved and the Headmaster stuck his head out with one student moving in as another came out. Interesting. Looking at the surrounding group, a thought hit him - he had a mandatory meeting! Giving Sabel a quick look, he began to walk away from the gargoyles before he'd been able to accomplish what he would've liked, but even so, it was good to know. |
Upon the departure of Mr. Dakest, the gargoyle remained open. It was now Miss Marlowe's turn. |
Sidney smiles at the boy who has just left Headmaster Tate's office. Then her stomach is suddenly in knots. She's second guessing why she even came here. I guess I might as well get this over with. Hopefully I'll remember why I wanted to see Headmaster Tate before I get to his door. Sidney stands up and walks to the Gargoyle Entrance. She walks up the steps. The Gargoyle closes behind her. Suddenly the room is feeling very closed in. Sidney has never had a problem with clausthophobia before. |
Arya was towing Sabel along with her as she stood before the stone gargoyle. She had never been to visit the Headmaster and had only spoken with him that one unfortunate time at the sleepover last term. So she was a little nervious. That combined with a peeved Sabel who was still audacious enough to want to march right down to the potions master and give her a piece of his mind. Looking around she glanced up at Sabel, giving a small smile. "See, not that many people here. We'll have them out in no time." Which meant there would be no need to visit the crazy woman. And if he still wanted to go down there, well Tatertot would stop him, she was sure of it. |

Sabel! We have a present for you and Arya too! ...and Tate if he wants one! :3 Kellen walked along the halls with a whistle, a thin and magazine-shaped present under one arm and a plate of cupcakes in the other. Ordinarily, walking along the hall with cupcakes wasn't something he'd do, but hey! Homework! The fun kind, too! He'd been on the lookout for friends, and thought it would be a time-saver to hit two birds with one stone. The magazine was for their austere Headmaster, because the man worked so hard he hadn't had time to update his magazines. A copy of Fly Fishing '71 would surely brighten his day. "Hey Sabel!" Kellen had wanted to meet a friend, but right outside the Headmaster's? Ideal! "Hey Arya! You two want to help me with my homework?" He pointed at the tray of cupcakes. |
Sidney makes her way down the steps to the garygoyle entrance. She anounces to the seating area and gargoyle entrance. "The Headmaster will see whoever is next. |
Not interested in taking a seat, Jake approached the Gargoyle and stood beside it, waiting for the rest of the students to take their turn with Tate so he could go up. He was nervous; last time he was here had been quite upsetting. Ugh. |
The gargoyle shifted and the door to the Headmaster's office opened once again. ooc: I have no clue who's next at this point, so please just post in my office and we'll try to get through the crowd. Sorry for the hold up. |
In contrast from the last time Jake left this office, he was now smiling broadly. "Neeeeext," the boy called in a sing-song-type voice, before sprinting down the corridor. Time to study, yo. |
Seeing that there wasn't a queue, Celandine approached the gargoyles, whispered the password that the Headmaster had given herself and Chris, and headed up the stairs, several sheets of parchments and a quill in hand. |
Tate exited his office and stood framed in the doorway. "Sorry about the delay. Is anyone else here waiting on something regarding homework assignments?" |
