Lord Borr's Lounge If you were not invited here by Lord Berty Borr - then get out! http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/4125/074pc7.jpg Trespassers will be punished as Lord Borr sees fit. The lounge is an extension of Lord Borr's office. The room is rectangular, with burgundy leather couches and dark wood side tables lining each wall. It smells faintly of cigar smoke and there's a larger than life portrait of Lord Borr over the fireplace. The use of this room is none of your business unless you are invited to enter it. So, bug off. |
Ewww, it smelled in here. That was Jack's first thought as he entered the lounge. He stood in the doorway, afraid to put even a toe into the room. Where were those other two boys that were supposed to be in there with him?!? They didn't expect him to spend all day in here ALONE did they? Gulp. Jack closed his watery eyes shut and took one step inside. Ok, so far so good. No hidden traps had been activated. Thank goodness--he had been imagining horrors that rivaled the old temples in those old Indiana Jones muggle movies. He scanned the room and tried to figure out where to sit...he didn't want to get the old walrus even more upset than he was by sitting in the wrong CHAIR. Picking one of the smaller ones (cause DUH, why would Borr pick one of the SMALL chairs for his chair? He wouldn't be able to squeeze his bum in there!) he pulled out a parchment, his eyes wandering to the giant picture over the mantel. Ewwww. His stomach took up the whole canvas! Disgustingggg. He bit his lip and paused with his quill hovering over the parchment. This shouldn't be TOO bad, right? He just--needed to make stuff up. As long as he made it SEEM like being an astronaut was the stupidest thing on Earth, Borr should be happy, right? Nevermind the fact that it was practically breaking the sixth year's heart to write slander about ASTRONOMY. Quote:

Theo slowly entered the Lounge. He didn't want to be here. He wanted to be in the class, learning about the stars. He noticed that Captain Jack was already in the room. "Did he think you were worthless too?" Theo mumbled. He sat down in one of the chairs. It was a lounge after all. "So what do we have to do?" |

He nodded. "Yup--apparently he views respected careers in society as worthless," he grumbled. He knew that once he got out of...Astronaut School or whatever you had to do to become one of them, he could fly CIRCLES around Borr's head with astronomical knowledge. Quite literally, actually, if he had a jetpack. "Make a list of why our professions of choice are worthless," he explained, showing the new kid his lame little list he had started. "I figure as long as we make it SEEM like we think we're complete loonies for wanting to be astronauts, he won't--you know--EAT us or something," he grumbled. |
"But our career isn't worthless," he frowned. "We should right a list at how awesome it is. And also right one at how useless it is. Give him both sides of the story." "But I don't want to sound like a loonie for choosing astronaut school," he huffed, "I already seem like a loonie. I have only just started to do magic. I sound like a 12 year old. And I am not allowed sugar, because it reacts badly with my tablets!" Oh man. He hadn't wanted to flip out at Jack. He looked down at the floor, "Sorry Jack. I didn't mean that. Well I did. But I didn't mean to shout at you. This is the only thing I want to do and Borr I saying it is worthless. I don't like it," he said, calmly. |

"It's ok...this whole situation just plain SUCKS," he said gloomily. "I mean, how can we possibly learn astronomy when Borr is so--horrible? And who cares if Borr says it's worthless? Has he looked in a mirror lately?" he said with a small smile, trying to cheer the younger dude up. "Doesn't mean we can't still do it!" It was true. What was he gonna do, call NASA and tell them that two rogue wizards were going to apply for the space program? THAT was likely. "Erm--I'm sorry about the other stuff, but don't let Borr get ya down," he said, trying to encourage him. Nevermind the fact that he himself was still feeling lousy after being kicked out of class and told he had his head in the clouds. |
"Maybe we should start a study class," Theo suggested, "To teach us out of the textbook. Stuff kids need to know for their OWLs and their NEWTs." It was an idea. Since Theo had his OWLs next year. And Jack had his NEWTs then too. It would help them both. "We'll right this list, and then start a study class," he smiled. Yeah they would do what Borr said. And do it behind his back. |
Patroclus entered the room. Breathing deeply he tried to fathom why he had been sent from the class. He looked up as he walked into to see the two other boys that had been also, rudely booted out of the class. Seething with fury at being told his ambitions were useless, he noticed the there was a difference between him and the other two boys(one being Captain Jack) "So I am the only the idiot first year?" he tried to make it sound funny, to break the tension that filled the room, " looks like i have failed astronomy in the first lesson, that has to be a record!" |
Jack looked up as the last boy to be punished, Patroclus, entered the room. He smiled as the boy attemped light humor and let out a small chuckle. "Nah, you're not an idiot," he assured him. The REAL idiot's portrait was hanging above the mantel at the moment. "So, this list...." he said, staring at his one lame reason that he had listed at the moment and letting out a sigh. This was so stupid. STUPID! |
"I wonder what happening back in the class room?" Patroclus, said not even thinking about the ridiculous lists they had been set to fill out[ |

"I'LL TELL YOU WHAT is going on back in the classroom," Lord Borr bellowed as he ENTERED his lounge. He NEEDED his lounge to be CHILDREN free after the lesson he had just had. He needed it to be COMPLETELY IDIOT-PROOF so he could have another platter of cookies and a nap to recover from all the vomiting. "LEARNING. EDUCATION! Life changing lessons! THAT'S WHAT you missed! But fret not, fret not, Lord Borr is here now to aide YOU. My -- astronaut -- boys." Lord Borr laughed at them. "WELL GO ON. Don't have all day. SHOW me your LISTS." Lord Borr sat down on one of those large couches and nearly took up the entire thing on his own. "You DO have lists DON'T YOU??" |
Theo looked at the horrible man that had entered, "What lists Sir?" he said all innocent like. He had no idea what the fat man was talking about. Well he did, but he wasn't about to let on. |
Jack jumped high in the air as Lord Borr entered the room like a big, blundering baffoon. He almost spilled his inkwell and caught it just in time. "Erm, your Lordship, we've only just started our lists," he said, holding it out for him to see his one, lame response so far. "We haven't had much time to brainstorm since we all just met up," he added. Gahh, it was no use--Borr was going to shout at him anyways. Duhhhhh. Quote:

Lord Borr was here. Lord Borr was here, asking for their lists, the list that Patroclus had yet to start. "this is going to get ugly" he thought. |
Lord Borr would apologize for his lack of posting, but he's VERY BUSY ETC. Lord Borr could NOT BELIEVE HIS EARS. They were deceiving him? RIGHT? HAD TO BE! "Don't TELL ME that during ALL THIS TIME, where I put on a CLASS, taught VALUABLE LESSONS that you three LUMPS came up with only ONE ITEM ON YOUR LIST????" Lord Borr paused, but he was still completely DISBELIEVING that .. "ONE ITEM?" he wheezed. He ripped the paper from Jack's hands and read it quickly. "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!??!?!?!" "I want a list of FIFTEEN THINGS. FIVE EACH! FIVE FROM EACH OF YOU. Right NOW! I'm taking all this extra time to TEACH YOU on an individual level and THIS is what I GET? ONE ITEM??? ABOUT CLOTHES???" Lord Borr shook his head with disappointment. "You boys get up. You need to get your brains rolling. GET UP AND RUN LAPS AROUND THIS ROOM. RIGHT. Now. GET UP. RUN. FIVE ITEMS. NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW," Lord Borr beat his cane against the leather couch with each new spitting syllable. |
"Sir," Theo said, raising his hand. "I don't like running. I fly. I don't run. And I don't like shouting. Please stop shouting." |
Normally Jack would protest to running laps around a room THIS small but...that cane looked like it would HURT if it came down on his head. EEEEP! Any courage he had mustered after entering the room was GONE and with a tiny yelp, he jumped up and started running laps around the room. It wasn't that hard--it was a small room and his stride was large, but this was RIDICULOUSSSS! |
With a sticking charm, Celandine stuck two seperate bits of parchment to the outside of the door to the lounge. Quote:
