Gobstones Club: Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin Preliminary Match

Professor Shackleton gestured for the Ravenclaw and Slytherin players to approach the Gobstones court. She handed a blue drawstring bag to a member of the Ravenclaw team and a green bag to the Slytherin team. Each contained the appropriately colored gobstones. She then opened the drawstring on a separate grey bag and levitated a single stone into the center of the court. She announced, "Welcome Eagles and Snakes to your preliminary match-up! I expect that before we begin you will have all made yourself familiar with the rules. You now have your Gobstones, so let's get started!"

Slytherin starts the match by gently rolling their green Gobstone into play. It comes to rest about 4 inches away from the Jack Stone, leaving some room for another Gobstone to take the lead, but close enough to force some skill out of whoever tries for a closer position.

Kiri Starstalker walks up to the circle's edge with green gobstone in hand. She lines herself up and tosses her gobstone into play. It's rolling straight for the Snakes' other gobstone! One green stone nudges the other, sending the first Gobstone straight for the Jack Stone. It comes to rest right up against the Jack Stone - Slytherin wins a point!

Cameron Karsten is next up for the Slytherin team. He places his Gobstone on the edge of the circle and pushes it into play. It rolls to a stop just an inch and a half from the Jack Stone. This is going to be tough to beat!

Slytherin's aim is precise. They get themselves closest to the Jack Stone and earn the point!

Ravenclaw steps up to the circle's edge with blue gobstone in hand. They toss their stone into the circle with too much force and it rolls out the other side of the circle out of play. Slytherin takes their turn and rolls it in nice and easy. Their gobstone resides two inches shy of the Jack Stone. What's this!? Another Ravenclaw player tosses their gobstone in during the same turn! That's not good!

OOC: Please note the following rule: Answers from the same house posted 4 or more minutes apart will be penalized. Since this is a first offense for Ravenclaw, I will issue only a warning. Should it happen again, a penalty shall be called and Slytherin will automatically win that question.

Ravenclaw seeks to redeem their lackluster performance thus far, and seems to be on its way to doing so, with a smartly rolled blue Gobstone, resting just two inches from the Jack Stone and less than an inch from Slytherin's previously rolled stone. Looks like the next turn will decide this round.

Ravenclaw ties up the round nicely by sending their blue gobstone into the circle, smashing a green stone out of the way before stopping closest to the Jack Stone.
