He was liking his new form, he kept eying himself in the reflection of the mirror, winking at himself. Of yeah he was stylin now, well except for the ugly shoes. Lyra took the potion that Cam handed her. This was crazy! This was absurd! And he had the nerve to ask who Christian was? Who's Christian? Who exactly was Christian? "Christian is my boyfriend," she said with pride before Professor KrazyKazi turned all evil and demanded everyone to be finished with their potions. She was finished with her's as she looked up just in time to see the Gryffindor taking a part of it.

Brave soul!

And with that, she took the potion that the Slytherin made. If anything happened, she was coming back and haunting Kazi for the rest of her life.

TeafortheSoul 07-29-2009 01:41 AM

Cela started with the Henbane smoke since it was the most dangerous part of her potion and it would be best to have it all ready to go. She put her gloves on and up turned a jar over the leaf. She lifted the jar slightly and prodded the leaf with her wand, casting enough of a spark for the leaf to smoulder. Once it had burned away and she had caught the smoke, Cel sealed the jar and vanished all other traces of the henbane.

She peeked over at Kazimeriz as she put the jar to one side, adding a careful label to it. She prepared her other ingredients too; slicing and measuring, then arranging them in front of her. That was in the notes, to prep everything. She combined the minced Valerian root, the glumbumble fluid and lavender oil and left it to sit.

Cela measured the water and the aloe juice out and wamed them over a low heat. She added 5 drops of Fluxweed oil and the sliced ginger root, then dropped the Chamomile flower heads in and kept the roots and stalks to one side.

She turned the heat up gradually and began stirring clockwise until the cauldron started to boil Adding the skullcap leaf and Hyacinth flower to the cauldron, she alternated stirring two clockwise and one anti-clockwise stir, slowly. It was a good thing the instructions were reasonably simple and she had a good reference.

She lowered the heat and checked the instructions she'd written out.

Add the roots and stalks from the chamomile plant to the cauldron and stop stirring. Expose the potion to Henbane smoke and seal it for 10 minutes.
Cela added the roots and stalks and stopped stirring. The smoke part would be the hardest. She decided that the easiest thing would be to do a switching spell. It was a fairly advanced switching spell, but Cela was good at transfiguration and it didn't give her nearly as much trouble as potions. She put the lid on the cauldron and lifted it slightly, then she switched the steam from the cauldron for the smoke in the jar and put the lid down. She looked at the jar which now contained steam instead of smoked and gave herself a delighted little high five.

After ten minutes, Cela added the cucumber juice to the mix she had already prepared, then carefully added the mixture to the cauldron and sealed it again. 5 minutes after that she vanished the henbane smoke and took the lid off. She added the leech juice and slowly stirred. She added 500mls of water and reduced the mixture by half. Cela took it off the heat, checked all her notes (and his) again thoroughly, and let it cool. She decanted it into a flask and cleaned up everything.

Just like her potion, Diane appeared to be concealed from sight during the final steps of the plan and brewing process. It was not possible to know what she had been doing except to look at the notes of her Potions Journal. Two extra ingredients had been added: hot water (no specification in quantity) and wormwood. It read like this:

Quote:

Preparation
-Take halfe a handfull of crystallized sodium, 2 handfuls powdered Dark Hellebore, as much wood sorrel. Brewing Process Steps 1 to 4.
-Make a matress of crushed whiteflies and aphids in a different container and heat until you get an even, bubbling black liquid. Add the previous mixture in a shower while stirring in counterclockwise motions. Add secretion from glands Jadera Haematoloma by crushing them in your first (wearing protective gloves.) By the time you add the 6 lygus bugs and 2 western flower thrips, you should find its addition to set them on fire upon touch, and you may hear a faint screeching sound. Brewing Process Step 1.
-Take 3 pints of running water. Slowly add to the mix, boyling it in three waters with closed lid so half of it evaporates. Add an ashwinder egg. There should happen that a crack or hole is made on its side in boiling water. Then pour the liquor into a basin coated in lemmon juice and 1/2 pint of Lithium. Stir clockwise until you hear it hiss, return to cauldron. Brewing Process Step 2 to 4.
-Steeping Magnetite take 5 minutes in boyling water, in which time constant eight patterns are drawn in stirring. The Iron-Nickel meteorite stone must rest motionless through steeping in a different container. Remove the Magnetite at the same time you add 2 spoonfuls of Iron-Nickle liquid dust: you may observe the dark brilliant stones will draw an eight following the Magnetite design. Brewing Process Step 3.
-Five spoonfulls of Cilantro juice are added to the mix with 1/4 a pint of Flobberworm mucus; then season it with nightshade essence to your liking. The potion will turn from a silvery blue to dark red by now, the whole ginger root will discompose short after. Brewing Process Steps 3 and 4.
-Cool to environment temperature or colder. (Note: Freeze the exterior of the cauldron for this purpose.)
- Take a quarter of a pound of wormwood, blanch them and pound them thrice, straining them to the other liquor. Sip the Jadera Sanguinolenta tied to a string once. The brew must turn bright red, white and red again. Brewing Process Step 4.
-The steam of the potion will draw the figure of a white line of light in formation; one by one carefully add enough legs from female mosquitoes (not necessarily all 11 of them) to complete a full circle. Then add a handfull of powdered Bloodroot and watch the line retreat to the potion. Brewing Process Final Steps.

Note that the brew will turn greyish. At that point is apt for consumption. It's odorless, though possibly has a foul taste.
Right now a white line of fumes from the potion was twisting a circle as if it fought to go somewhere else but was forced down that path - she did not aid it with mosquito legs, just observed, against her own instructions -, before Diane added something else and the white line recoiled back at the potion at once, losing immediately its previous glow.

It was a good thing she had not add the whole whiteflies. Had she known magic had such capricious nature when dealt directly with it, the wings would have allowed it to fly away. Its power had a wild, indomitable quality. Magic, like the person its imprinted in, was notably human-like.

GASSSSP. Her boyfriend?!

This girl was ... PINKOBSESSED! Thinking that pink would actually be her boyfriend--he pitied her even more though he was quite happy she finally took the potion. And she had said it with pride. It's worse than I thought. He looked at the girl worriedly and just knew--JUST knew the potion would cure her of her... obsession/sickness.

What would she do first? Laugh? Sing? Dance? The girl was for sure gonna be hyper. Side-effects, he didn't know any. "Driiiink it. It'll make you aaaalll better." What was the signal for help again? Something with the neck... hmm. He'd just have to wait and see.

And she took it. YAY.

He assessed the situation quickly. "Potter, I would say that this is evidence your potion was a success. Good job." He shot three more stars above the boy's head, then gave one to Greingoth for being a good sport. "There you go. Now, then. Miss Greingoth, as soon as class is over I want you and Miss Noir to go down to the herbology greenhouses, and then to the Care of Magical Creatures teacher. I will need the following: mandrake root and leaves, peppermint roots, one whole sneezewort plant. Then, from Care of Magical creatures, please procure nine jobberknoll feathers, a live puffer fish-- the professor may be hesitant to give it up, but insist that it is necessary-- and as many ashwinder eggs as you can convince her to let me have. Do this quickly and bring them to my office, please." Kazimeriz nodded pleasantly and turned to see what results the last few potions would bring.

"Everyone who is still brewing, please do your best to hurry; our class period is almost over. That includes you, Miss Greingoth." Kazimeriz said calmly, as though he were thoroughly enjoying himself.

Lyra heard her name and turned her head quickly. The potion was now in her and she couldn't help herself but listen to the words that Professor Kaziman spoke. He really wanted her...to help Banana?

Was he...

Sick?

Wowwwww!

"Certainly, sir," Anna replied, nodding at his request then turning towards Cela. She'd always really liked the youngest Toussaint, and if her potion suceeded in assisting Cela in any way, then Anna would definitely be pleased. She briefly wondered where Cela and Paris were headed, but then again she imagined it had something to do with that Paris clone that was now wandering around throughout the school doing Merlin only knew what.

"Hey, Cela," Anna said, approaching the girl and offering her the phial of potion. "Professor Kazimeriz suggested you take my potion before you head out. It's supposed to give you additional bravery and intelligence during trying times. I do hope it can help you in some way."

Lyra and Xana

Daniel took the potion and gulped it in one swallowing. He almost gagged when he tasted it. He then looked at Lyra and then to the Professor. He raised his hand to ask the Professor something when something hit him in the stomach. He lowered his hand in his abdomen and he pressed against it.

He sat on the floor for a moment when he noticed that his arm, had changed in color. He held his right arm close his face and it was pink.

Daniel sighed as he knew that the potion had worked well, but when he looked at his fingers he gave a shout of shock, "Ahhh!" his eyes grew wide when he saw that his thumb is black, his index is green, his middle finger is cyan, his ring finger is red and his pinky is brown.

He shouted another time when he saw his left hand to be in the same condition as the right hand.

He looked at Lyra and then at the Professor and gave a forced smiled, like a child saying, Mom What will I do?. He doesn't even know what his body looks like...

She opened it up and drank it down. "So... how do we know if it works?"

Paris was waiting for Cela to finish up with her potion and she watched as Cela drank the potion Anna had brewed. She was keen to catch her clone before she did something really bad. The clone looked really made and there was no telling what she was going to get into. "Are you ready to go?" she asked her when she had downed the potion.

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 07-31-2009 04:41 AM

"Professor, it's done."

It was just like that, out of the blue. Diane was holding a vial of something greyish and unappetizing. She brought a last 'ingredient' from the shelves: the thermotropic liquid crystals. Having asked little or no questions at all, you could say her potion could very likely be a hazardous endeavour. Its brewing was silent, uneventful and unsupervised as if performed on closed doors.

She meant to hand in the journal, when she stopped. How very full of notes it was wasn't it. With her wand, she erased and re-arranged the notes clean, so it read:

Quote:

POTIONS PLAN

Your name: Diane Entelequia
Your House: Slytherin
Your Year: First
Type of Potion you are Making: Smell-Scentless or Undetectable Draft (Physically Altering)

Intent: Eliminate sweat, breath and other body functions that may give away magical nature or corporeal presence. In more detail, keep body radiation to a minimum using a system to recycle magic within the body and eliminating excess.

Ingredients:
Hot Water
6 Lygus Bugs, whole
2 Western Flower Thrips, whole
Scent glands from Jadera Haematoloma
2 wingless Whiteflies, crushed
1 crushed Potato Aphid
1 Ashwinder egg
Lemmon juice
Ginger root, whole
half a handful crystallized Sodium
2 leeches, dried, crushed
1/2 pint of Lithium
Magnetite, by steeping for 5 minutes directly in cauldron
2 spoonfuls of Iron-Nickel Meteorite Rock, by steeping for 5 minutes in different container
Cilantro, fresh, juiced
Jadera Sanguinolenta, to be soaked
2 handfuls Dark Hellebore, powdered
Wood sorrel, sliced
11 pairs of legs from female mosquitoes
Essence of Nightshade
Handful Bloodroot, powdered
Wormwood
1/4 a pint of Flobberworm mucus

Journal Notes:
1-We divide the potion in several steps or drafts, which will ultimate be used along other drafts for a complete Magic Trace Supression concoction. The intent is constructing a mechanism in which the consumed potion would entrap wasted secretions (magic included) in a compressed form, so you will not feel magic unless in direct contact with the object, spell or person.
2-The highlight of the scent-supressing step are the abdominal scent glands of the Jadera haematoloma ("scentless bug") lying close together in the middle of the dorsal abdomen. We use also Jadera sanguinolenta nymph, which, as the name states, is concerned with the magic in the blood, thus is part of step 4, but the Hellebore will be the base for the concealing step.
3-To contrapose electric vibres associated with magic, we use two strong magnetic stones, Magnetite and Iron-Nickel, which act opposite attractions. The mechanism is a coming and going between the two magnets in the shape of an 8. To get rid of heavy metal toxicity, we juice pure cilantro (coriander / Chinese parsley) which also is meant to change the polarity of the blood.
4-The body must be purged of excesive transpiration, essence or otherwise remaining magical after-effects from potions and charms, thus heat is of importance in the over all process. Other than boiling, Ashwinder eggs and Ginger root are used for its fire elemental properties. (For non-heat-related purgatory effect, crystallized sodium, lemmon juice and hot water itself.) Afterwards, the pores must be closed shut by use of leeches and lithium.
5-Powdered Bloodroot will be used to confuse olfatory sense in environment and subjects external to the drinker, thus it will be part of the end step along flobberworm mucus for thickening of the potion. (Because of the olfatory effects expected, its impact will be at first inhibited with the use of Black Nightshade as seal. The final action of the potion will take place when it comes in contact with the blood of the user, thus releasing this seal.)
6-This potion is brewed under the new moon, disguise effects are preferred.

For Preparation - Brewing Steps:
Step 1: Inhibit Secretion Glands - Base: Jadera haematoloma
Step 2: Eliminate Excess in System during Purgatory step - Base: Heat
Step 3: Supress Eletric Current, containment in Body - Base: Magnetite
Step 4: Conceal Traces of Magic in Blood - Base: Hellebore

Effects: Should feet like a heat surrounds your body, like a hot shower; might feel ringing in ears. During this time, you might feel or visually see that you are breathing raw magical energy. That's because the excess eliminated is returning to your body in concealed form, attracted by the magnetic stones. This would be the reverse of blowing magical breath. Per see, with every other body function inhibited, the only waste is produced in breathing; to eliminate this waste, the air breathed in and out be the same through a simple purifying process. This is also why the first two steps must be performed in extreme heat, but the potion must be cooled off before the last ingredient is added.
"May I try it?" the sound of Diane's voice redirected attention to her smiling, barely-concealed eager face. The eletric-looking crystal ball sat on her desk in wait.

Professor Kazimeriz looked at him, calm and amused. "Well, aren't you colorful today." He smirked. "Miss Noir, was this precisely what you had in mind, to turn your peer into a froot loop?" He strode over and looked at her potions plan. "Pity. Good try, however. A bit of simplification could sort it until it works as intended. At least no one will accuse him of having a less than vibrant persona." He chuckled at the boy, shaking his head.

She opened it up and drank it down. "So... how do we know if it works?"

"I suppose the only way to know is to face a crisis, Miss Toussaint... If your reaction is the bravery of a Gryffindor coupled with the clever, clear thinking of 10 Ravenclaws plus 2, then I think it will be a success. I never thought I would say this to you, but for the purpose of this assignment, you are excused to go seek out the mischief you always seem to stumble into. I would suggest starting by finding Miss Greenwood's other half." Kazimeriz said.

"May I try it?" the sound of Diane's voice redirected attention to her smiling, barely-concealed eager face. The eletric-looking crystal ball sat on her desk in wait.

Kazimeriz eyed the girl. "But I would think a guinea pig would be more interesting. Miss Wright, you will test Miss Entelequia's potion."

Abby sits by her finished potion watching the pandemonium Paris's clone has caused with great amusement. So Professor Kazimeriz is not master of all his domains after all. How interesting. Then she hears the good professor call her name. Darn! I guess playtime is over with. Abby gets up and walks over to where the Professor is standing with one of the first year student. "One ginea pig at your service. What exactly is your potion suppose to do?"

"Of course I can." Cela agreed, "Incarcerous is easy, and Duro could be used to weigh her shoes down, or we could cast glisseo on the ground in front of her, or stick her to a wall or partially transfigure her so that she doesn't have legs." Celandine suggested.

"Please keep a second phial at hand in case we need to test it on a normal witch or wizard. In fact..." Yoink! He pulled out his wand and drew a phial of her potion, stoppering it and summoning it to himself. "I shall test this out on someone personally." His expression was devious, that of a man with a dark plan.

"Okay." Cela agreed, "Will you let me know how it works, sir?" She asked him, completely in earnest and all oblivious to his expression.

"Do I have to be like a Gryffindor?" Cela wrinkled her nose, "I'd rather be reckless than brave." Calculated risk because she had to do something rather than bravery in order to play hero.

"Find the doppleganger, take it down and then what? Bring it back to you?" Cela asked. "You'd go to a mirror, right Paris?" Cela asked the Slytherin, "Since you like looking at yourself, right?"

Cela tied her hair back and checked her wrist holster. "Will we have to go into the flooded areas do you think? Could we have some gillyweed just in case, sir?"

"Indeed I shall. On this note, sadly, class period is closing. I would ask that those of you whose potions remain untested take them into the potions lab, and those of you who still need an antidote please see me in the lab to resolve these matters."

"And now, to the final order of business for this class. Mr. Kaiser and Mr. Cullack, if you could both come to the head of the class, please." Kazimeriz said.

ooc: Sorry guys but I need to move onto class 3 so I gotta wrap this up. ;)

Aww I wanted to see if William's potion worked xD

William still looked good, like seriously good. he needed a picture of this though he had a feeling professor Kazimeriz would give him an antidote, too bad. Right before he was about to look in the mirror again Kazimeriz called him to up to the front. Uh ohh... this can't be good he thought gulping as he walked up with confidence to the front of the room to stand beside the older man. What did he do? he couldn't think of anything, did he do something wrong? Every time he was called up in Muggle school trouble ensued. Well, only way to find out.

XanaSnape 08-02-2009 02:59 AM

Professor Kazimeriz eyed Cullack. "While regrettably we did not have time to test your potion in here, we shall do so in the lab. However, your journal showed excellent understanding of ingredients and process, so I can award you full marks for brewing, the same as all others who finished a potion received, Cullack." He added the final two stars over the boy's head. "As you and Mr. Kaiser have, by my count, the highest numbers of stars for this class period, you shall both receive the promised prize, which is an extremely complex little potion which I feel you will find extraordinarily useful."

Kazimeriz raised his wand and summoned two tiny, ornate cobalt and pewter bottles. He held them up for the class to see.

"Congratulations, gentlemen. Well done." He nodded to the boys as he handed Cullack a phial, levitating the other over to Kaiser. "There is enough in each bottle for a single use, so use it well. And I recommend you keep their contents confidential." He handed Cullack his bottle, which had teeeny tiny writing on it:

SPOILER!!: The label on the bottle

Gregory's Unctious Unction: Makes the drinker think they are your very best friend. Effects last until antidote is given. Single draught; add to beverage for use. Leaves an oily film in glass but no aftertaste.

Kazimeriz gave the boys a knowing look and a tiny wink. He was certain they would have some fun with the potion, much as he had had himself back in the day when he had won the same potion from Slughorn.

"Homework is an essay, 8 inches of parchment in length, on what you learned about ingredients and process. Please analyse your potion and its effects, and include your potion notes from your journal on a separate sheet of parchment. Those of you who did not yet test your potion are free to come to the lab to do so, and those of you in need of an antidote --" he eyed his rainbow coloured student in particular "should also do so at this time, or go to the hospital wing if it is your preference. If you have no further questions, class is dismissed."

ooc: Thanks for playing in this class, y'all... feel free to come to potions lab for antidotes/testing potions/any unfinished business, as I know a few people have things still to do and I really want to play with you all! I just need to wrap this class up so Kazi can make it to his final class of the term. ;)

Oh, and if Kaiser or Cullack RP using their potion prize on YOU, please play along! I hope you had fun, I know I did with you all. :)

Daniel giggled as the Professor commented jokingly on his appearance. As a matter of fact he looks like he wad been playing with a lot of paints. Like a child on finger and body paints.

He giggled and said, "Yes, Professor. And I will be the most popular kid in town knowing that I am The boy-rainbow" he then giggled. He then sat calmly on the window side of the classroom as he awaits further instructions.

SPOILER!!: I won

Daniel turned to the Professor's area when he heard that his name was called. He approached him as the Professor said he and Mr. Cullack won something. He then reached the phial that was given to them and he reads, Makes the drinker think they are your very best friend. He chuckled. Well, this is a new and interesting prize. But to whom should I use this? he said as he looked at the Professor and smiled. "Thank you, Professor. I guess my colors show that I am very grateful." he chuckled again and headed to his station and took note of the assignment that was given to them.
