"Professor." Jai raised her hand "What if your fear is a boggart? What would it come out as? Do you think it would come out in its true form?" Jai asked looking at the boggarts feeding from her classmates fear. |
"Excellent question, Miss Steeyle. Ten points. The boggart's magic is such that it is able to extract or 'read' the conscious and subconscious emotional landscape of its victims; psychomagical experts have studied this to great extent. A boggart feeds on fear and uses fear as a defensive weapon. It is also a creature of shadows, one who hides. The only thing it loathes more than laughter is showing its true face. Therefore, when a boggart detects that its victim truly fears the face of a boggart, it knows that he or she fears the unknown and will often use that, staying just out of sight and working to build fear through unease. Have any of you who fear the unknown-- on any level- ever been in a dark alley or an attic and seen something unidentifiable just out of the corner of your eye, but when you try to face it you cannot see it? That was likely a boggart... building your fear by staying just in your peripheral vision, so it might feed on your building fear and make you nervous as it moves in closer and closer, ready to attack you." Kazimeriz smirked as he said this, slooowly moving up behind Plymouth Morgan, closer and closer, as if to demonstrate. |

The room was disappearing in a cloud of blackness. Liz, Professor Kazimeraz, his classmates...gone. The boggart was closing in on him. "No...no...no..." Ludo muttered frantically. He pointed his wand at the encroaching darkness. "Think! What can you force it to become!?" he thought. Vapor...gas....gas fills..what?...ahah! "Balloons! Giant black balloons fit to burst! he thought. The blackness enveloped him...Ludo couldn't see his wand or hand anymore but that couldn't stop him from speaking. "Riddikulus!" he cried from inside center of the darkness. |

Her words fell on deaf ears, like static, it was her face that he feared. Time froze solid. It wasn't just one moment that he saw in her eyes. He saw the past, the bittersweet past. Not only this, but the Greek boy glimpsed the future. Peeking ahead a few chapters in a book that was never written. All the way to the end. The grip on his wand loosend, nearly falling from his hand as he pondered his fate. "The Greeks were well known for their tragedies..." He stated sadly. Was this his destiny? A tragic story, to tug at the readers heartstrings? There had to be more to his life than cheap melodrama.. "But they also told stories of fearless heroes, love..." Tightening his grip on his wand, a grin tugged at the young princes lips. "And comedies...Riddikulus!" His voice boomed in punctuation. The past was filled with mistakes, the future was uncertain, but the present, this moment was his. |

"Riddikulus!" He waved his wand again, focusing VERY intently on the outcome this time. When the lightning struck, it would turn harmlessly into a cloud of bubbles. |

"It can, indeed, stalk you to build your fear-- the boggart will use any tactic to achieve its goals. As a Slytherin, I am sure that you can relate wholeheartedly." Kazimeriz smirked. "Their primary goal is to induce fear as a fuel source, so it is not in their best interest to kill outright, for they remove their fuel source. However, wizards have been moved to madness and even scared literally to death by a boggart's attacks. Five more points for your inquisitiveness, Miss Steeyle, and for you as well, Miss Takenouchi." |
Qaz raised her hand and asked, 'What if your greatest fear is something invisible, like a deadly gas? How would you even know that the boggart was there?' |

Jai smiked at Professor Kazimeriz, he was absolutely awesome. "Your quite right professor we Slytherins do do what is needed. Professor, so boggarts work better alone or do they team up sometimes?" That was something she wanted to know, what if they were desperate "If they hadn't been fed in a while would they team up to lure and attack?" |
Ludo/Freya A strange rubbery sound began to emit from the darkness. As if someone was rubbing together leather. The branch-like protrusions that had been comming from the encrouching darkness seemed to plump up and grow blunt. As the noise grew louder and louder, the once thick blackness of the dark went back to dim and took on a rather transparent look behind which the other students could be seen. The darkness had transformed into a balloon that was quickly over-running its' capacity for air. Within a matter of seconds, the balloon pierced against an unknown object and emitted a squeal most high as it wrinkled, writhed, and flopped dramatically, like an attention-hog trying to shift the focus at a smarter, nicer siblings party, in order to release all of its air. Before it at last collapsed to the ground like a dead fish, it flailed around the room, ricocheting against several objects. Without only a bitty little squeak, the deflated piece of black balloon flopped back into the wardrobe. Quote:
The heavy rush of water that pounded down on Freya slowly began to subside until it felt as though she were being pelted with something about the weight and size of seeds. Glittering pieces of paper were pelting her and trying their hardest to be menacing. Once the boggart noticed that it was no longer an onslaught of liquid it began to retreat, its once fearful form now spilling out in a veritable upchuck of rainbowlicious foil. The door to the wardrobe shut with a slam as the cowardly boggart enclosed itself once again in its little safe haven. |

"So, in other words," Karma started. "The more you fear, the more the boggart can feed off of. Is that how it's becoming such a, dangerous, creature perhaps?" |

Oh thank GOODNESS. Copernicus nodded to the professor and slid back into his seat. It was very instructive, but his heart felt like it would burst from inside his chest at the rate it was pounding. He turned his attention to the front of the room where his classmates continued to face their fears. |

That golden hair seemed to fade when he was afraid, whether this was really happening, or if it was imagined is totally up to debate. Helios was on his toes, nearly coming out of his sandles, as he was nearly ready to high tail it out of there like he usually did. He always let her win. Let her chip away at his pride. Life seemed measured by the moment since he stepped up to the wardrobe. This moment brought him to a similar moment. But this moment was not filled with fear. The opposite, like a reflection in a mirror. The mirror of Erised. Though the staff probably had it's own reason for having the mirror brought to the school, in this boys story it seemed as if it were there just for him. To show him what the desire he denied himself, like the Boggart revealed the fear he hid. Krissy and Kayla. The cousins were the princes only two real friends in this school. One loved him while the other seemed to only have contempt. Why did he dwell so deeply on the negative while ignoring the positive. There came the revelation. In all her insults and anger, Kayla was trying to point him in the right direction. She wanted the best for him, and showed it in her own rough edged way. "Smile." Helios smiled, in case the Boggart in Kayla's skin didn't know how. His wand slowly rose, his lips parting in a strong whisper. "..riddikulus!.. |
Jai raised a brow at his statement "Then I look forward to it Professor." she smiled and brought her knees to her chest keeping vigilant just incase there might be anything else he might have hidden in the room. |
Kayla sat at the desk and watched with fascination at Helios' boggart and it was rather freaky to see herself coming out of the wardrobe. But oh how cool that the young prince's greatest fear was herself. She smirked to herself and so it bloody well should be, it took him long enough to get that through his thick head. |

Truly Frightening... Meanwhile... A boggart shaped like a dementor slid silently out of the wardrobe, heading straight for Abby Wright, its bony hand stretching out toward her menacingly. |

Whirling around in place, Samson tried to avoid the dark walls closing in. Oh, heck no. There was no way out. The walls formed a circle around him, and the closer they got, he breathed less and less. Stupid, stupid claustrophobia! Sam's already sweaty hand tightened around his wand, not wanting it to slip. The last thing he needed was to scramble around in the already constricted space to look for his wand. Happy thoughts. Happy thoughts! He didn't need to close his eyes. It felt like the dark walls closed his eyes for him. Now all that was left to do was imagine. Somewhere, he could hear the professor shouting out instructions. People were succeeding. Samson Carswell had to succeed also. Almost immediately, an image of the Evanstar mansion appeared. The large swimming pool, the hot, scorching sun on his skin... Sabrina, Gavin, Issy... even Carla, and his mom, and most of all, his new dad. Last summer's pool party was the best summer of his life. It was probably the best memory of his 16-year life so far. He would never tell any of them, but yes, no matter how remorseful he usually was, it was always his friends and family that made him the happiest. And what memory was happiest than that of all of them together, having fun with him. Also, what better way to fight darkness than with a memory with so much sun... So he was all set. "Riddikulus!" he shouted, with almost as much conviction as he had shouted when he had jumped into the pool in a cannon ball that day. Yeaaah. |
LMAO! Alter Personality 1 meets Personality 2 of Jess ;D Quote:
Only a Boggart he reminded himself helplessly. Drawing a deep breath, he bit his lip as a redhead - one who seemed quite familiar and yet unfamiliar at the same time - emerged and instantaneously through herself ALL OVER HIM!!! Sure he couldn't deny that she was attractive, in the slightest way, but this was just ridiculous. The saliva covering his cheeks . . . his robes . . . his entire surface of well-being and pride was DESTROYED! Master your emotions, Dominic "Riddikulus!" The fifth year shouted, waving his wand appropriately to ward the boggart off. As he shouted the incantation, he quickly was thinking of a way to make this situation more humorous. Those funny thoughts entailed the gingered female being smothered herself with TOADS, all over her body and face and bloody red hair . . . attacking her with slobbery, germy kisses. |
Chase looked around the classroom as the Boggart moved about. He clenched his hands in an attempt not to run away from the classroom. Taking deep breaths to calm himself he watched the boggart and watched as Helios fear came up and his leg began tapping as the boggart got closer. Please o please o please.. Dont come... Dont come near him. Chase knew exactly what his greatest fear was and eh wasnot about to let it show up in the room. His greatest fear? Seeing Whit, his girlfriend, dead infront of him. |

"You have a heart problem? Are you kidding? WHY didn't you TELL US? What kind of friend are you?!" they demanded in a chorus, advancing on him. "I am NEVER speaking to you again!" one girl shouted and the others nodded in unison, turning from him... |
"Two points and be seated, sunrider... the same for you, Denton, excellent work!" Kazimeriz nodded in approval. "Remember, it is HUMOR you need to use, not just happiness, to make the incantation work..." |
