Jezz smiled at the thought of dessert. That was always her favorite part of any meal. "Thank you Professor." She said, still trying to keep her manners up. |
Kayden, who has been quietly obediant this whole time, sat still in her seat, staring at the duck in front of her. Duck. Duck as in a once quacking little bird. Her eyes grew wide as she held the fork motionlessly in her hand. There was no way she was going to eat something that was once living. She has been a vegetarian for almost six years now, after all. She sat there quietly, then finally placing her fork back on her plate, signaling that she was finished with the untouched meal. Kayden looked up at the thought of dessert. She wasn't actually that hungrey, but did not want to be rude, by refusing it. Arg! What happened to DADA? |
After finishing off her last piece of duck when the salt finally came to her, she was just in time to see Proffesor Rae push her plate away and then hear her say something about dessert as a treat. That was very nice of the proffesor. and right about now would be the perfect time at any party for someone to stand up, take their glass, and say a toast to her. How Callie would love to do that for fun and to thank Proffesor Rae. She opted on no, for at least now. It was a little to informal for a student to do that during a class. Although this was a fine meal and may be appropriate, but she took a bite of her dessert instead and mentally thanked the Proffesor. |
A loud crack signifies that yet another House Elf has arrived. A burst of purple smoke and, for some odd reason, a bit of glitter, swirls around a small creature. Bowing, he smiles up at the Headmistress, before adressing the students. "Schmoop presents Headmistresses platter of pudding. Headmistresses has put together great puddings and Schmoop hopes the studentses will greatly enjoy. Crème brûlée, tiramisu, and a heavy chocolate mousse. If studentses not like coffee, best avoid tiramisu. Schmoop wishes for students to enjoy! Please do!" Again, he bowed, turning to direct another bow at the Headmistress, before another loud crack echoed and the House Elf disappeared with another puff of purple and glittery smoke. Now, lain before all of the students are lavish dishes of the three different puddings. |
Happily, Issy turned to Professor Rae, face bright with anticipation. Yes! Pudding! The desert! This was what she'd been waiting for! Patting her tummy, she wondered, for a moment, if she coudl fit any more in. Three deserts? Three? Were they allowed to sample them all? Oh! Could she fit that much in? Tiramisu! Crème brûlée! Chocolate mousse! All were to die for! Her salivation glands kicked back in and she found herself yearning, strongly yearning, for them all. Could she eat that much?! Raising her hand, she adressed the Professor. "Ehm... is it... er... improper for me to sample all of these? They're my favorites, too." Her voice grew meek with embarassment and she flushed lightly. Did she sound like a pig? |
*Having eaten very little of the duck, the sight of sweets made Sheeta feel much better.* |

"Anyway, I think I'd like to eat duck again soon enough, really get a full blast of flavour potential." she mused nodding slightly as her green eyes turned and glanced at the half eaten morsel. "Pheasent is my favorite though, I could eat it daily, beside my burger and fries of course." she giggled, her sweet tooth beginning to waken from its slumber like some ravenous dragon. Just then, as luck would have it, the dear, sweet headmistress spoke and, like the previous courses a house elf appeared out of nowhere and placed the desserts on the table. Her mouth immediatly watered as she gazed at the tiramisu before her, taunting her, calling her name. "Oh sweet treat, where have you been?" she asked it, trying hard not to reach out and grab th whole bowl full. Striaghtening up, she smiled happily. She giggled as she heard Issy ask the professor if se could taste all three delectable delights, but Ari only had eyes for one. She loved the sweety tangness of it, and she adored coffee. The perfect dessert! "Now all I need is a soft drink and I'm set!" she said softly to Issy with a chukle before turning back to the snack at hand. |
Steelsheen couldnt help but smile at this. Dessert, her favorite part of the meal. She helped herself with some chocolate mouse, and was already eying the tiramisu. |

"Duck is really good, once you get used to it. I'm sure if you try it again, you might like it a little more. Make sure that whoever prepares it does it well, though - some people just don't do it right. If the skin isn't crispy, I don't touch it." A light shrug rolled over her shoulders and Issy didn't even notice the air of sophistication and aristocacy that had surrounded her. "Mind you - I rather prefer fish and chips. Burgers and chips is just... I never ate it much growing up. Mum calls them 'that hideous American meal' so we rarely have it." Now laughter escaped as Ari voiced exactly what Issy had been thinking. Sweets! Sugar! Where was the delicious sweet stuff. Her laughter continued even more as Ari got all excited, just as she had. "Chocolate milk for me or a nice sweet tea," Issy told her. "But this is fine enough!" And oh how it was. |

Allie grabbed some chochalate moose, it was one her her favorite desserts. |

"I can't make him come back," she woefully explained. "We haven't any power over House Elves! Did he say his name is Schmoop? Do you think we can ask the Headmistress at the end of class? Maybe we can find him in the kitchen?" Then Melly could meet her first House Elf! |

Amelia's green eyes lit up with delight as she placed the last piece of duck delicately into her mouth. Dessert!? Ooh how exciting! The headmistress was seriously far too good to them. Not that she minded in this new school being pampered; it was a nice change after all. Chewing that last bite as quickly as possible, she swallowed the little bit and then set her fork and knife down on the plate. "Thank you Madame Rae," she said, practicing her formal words as she figured it would not be proper to say headmistress or professor. Her head turned at the sound of another crack, which only meant one thing. Another house elf. This one seemed quite polite and happy to serve them. Not that the others weren't, but this one was actually smiling too. Schmoop? She would have to remember that. And puddings for dessert! Oh dear, would it be too much to try all three? She loved chocolate mousse and tiramisu, but that third one, Crème brûlée, sounded so tempting. She looked around at the other students first before making her mind up. Just a little of three wouldn't hurt any. Waiting for them to be passed her way, she scooped a small amount of each kind onto her dessert plate. And an extra scoop of tiramisu, as well... |
Daphne's little stomach was full from the duck. But when she laid eyes on the chocolate mousse, suddenly she felt hungry again. Serving herself, How odd, she thought, considering the formality of the lesson one shouldn't need to serve oneself, she gave herself a little of the mousse, understanding how heavy the course was. She picked up her dessert fork and gently skimmed the top of her plate. It only picked up a little of the mousse, but Daphne was satisfied. It allowed for her to properly taste the dessert and fully appreciate the quality of the course. She continued to eat, little bite by little bite until it was all gone. She was tempted to scrape the plate, but recognized how ill mannered that would be. |
It couldn't harm to get some of all three, Issy decided. Tiramisu! Hurrah! A dessert from her own heritage that she could fully appreciate! Chocolate mousse, one of her favorite dishes to eat. Glancing over at Juni, Issy grinned to herself. Juni would not touch the chocolate mousse, she knew, for Juni was greatly against chocolate. With a little bit of all three, Issy set in quickly with her spoon, whimpering softly to herself. No. The whimper was very much un-lady like. But Issy did not at this moment mind, because she felt she could cry. Glancing over at Headmistress Rae, Issy added her to her mental list of favorite professors. Call it unintentional bribery, but Issy was easily won over. "Thank you, Headmistress!" she squeaked happily. Now she would set to silence so that she could happily eat all the food. How she would manage without exploding, she decided, she would figure when the bridge came to cross. Until then, she would sample bits of all the dessert, so as to make sure to get some of each. Lots of each, if she was lucky. |
Juniper stared at the three desserts. Chocolate mousse was fine for the other students, and tiramisu wouldn’t be too bad, but the idea of crème brûlée nearly made her mouth water. After checking to make sure others had already helped themselves, Juniper eagerly added a small scoop of the crème brûlée to her plate. She hesitated, watching the people around her enjoy the dessert, and then took a tiny bite of crème brûlée and chewed it slowly, relishing the sweet custard and caramel taste. The first monumental bite was finally swallowed, and Juniper took another and another, continuing at her slow but steady pace until she had made a fair headway through eating her serving. Issy, sitting on the other side of Melina, seemed to be having a difficult time deciding what to eat. “Issy, try the crème brûlée first,” Juniper advised quietly between bites. “It’s delicious!” |
Having finished the chocolate mouse in record time, Steelsheen started to reach out for the tiramisu, but stopped short. Wait, we're pretending to be at a formal dinner party, not Honeydukes, she thought. Clearing her throat she asked the Headmistress, "Profesor Rae, would it be considered impolite or unladylike if we take more than one helping of the dessert?" |
Callie digged into the three desserts, taking a little bite of each and going in a pattern. It was all very yummy and she decided just to say thanks, without the toast of course, "Thank you Headmistress." she said and then continued on with her desserts. As she started to finish each one off, she couldn't over hear IssyC, Becca, the girl who had passed the salt, and some other Ravenclaw girl whose name sarted with an M. They were talking about the house elves popping in and out of the room with the food. IssyC has started talking about letting Melly talk to one, and she figured it would be later since Rae had just mentioned it's rude at a formal dinner to talk to them. Callie herself had never actually talked to one and didn't know if she would ever. |
"Oh I know, I knoooow!" Issy squealed back to Juni, feeling the sudden urge to reach around Melly and grab Juni's hand. But she didn't, because proper ladies did no such thing and Issy was tryng her best to be a proper lady. They could squeal later, she decided. "I know you hate chocolate, but the mousse is FAB. So light, airy... like a whipped topping. Oh it's to DIE for, you cannot imagine, Juni! Have you tried the tiramisu? It only has cocoa in it. Did you know that tiramisu means pick me up?" And oh was it a pick-me up. Issy felt even more excited than she had when they found the dress robes. Goodness, this was to die for. Headmistress Rae was amazing the House Elves fantastic for putting this together... oh. So amazing. Despite the awful rules, the horrible Common Room, and the lack of boys, Belle's school wasn't so bad. Issy hated to admit it, but things were picking up. Finally, they were picking up. |
Cassandra had one forkful of salad and when the duck came out, she shuddered. She was a vegetarian. She took a piece off and put it in her mouth, not chewing and not swallowing. She waited until Rae looked away, then took a napkin and spit in it. |
Nikki smiled at the thought of dessert and put her salad fork across her plate. "Thank you Professor." She said with a slight smile. Keeping her manners as she had been taught. |
Cela's eyes widened imperceptibly at the sight of the dessert; It was likely to make her extremely hyper. However, instead of drawing attention to this fact; she merely made sure she had only a small serving of crème brûlée. She broke a tiny bite of the crème brûlée gently with her dessert spoon; then pushed the small piece onto her spoon using her dessert fork. |
Hearing the word dessert made Melly jump on her chair. Eep! So that was the part where she'd be given strawberries and other fruits along with chocolate fondue, right? Right? Wrong. A pout immediately formed on the first year's lips as she saw the desserts appearing. Not one of them had any kind of fruits and for her a good one had to include peach, strawberries or something of the sort. Still, it seemed that she was ought to eat at least a bit from one of them, no? She had to act like a princess, and princesses were always polite, which included, of course, eating dessert even if she wasn't fond of any. But the question was which one should she taste? Tiramisu had coffee and that was a no-no unless she wanted to get hyper for the next couple of days. As for the chocolate mousse... Well, she didn't mind it at all but to eat it without the fruit... Blegh. No way. Her tongue would have to carry that sweet taste for ages and she did not want that. Which left her with the crème brûlée. She had never been a fan of that either, but if it was her only option then her stomach would have to handle it. Nodding to herself, Melina took a bit of that dessert and took a spoon to her mouth. At once, her eyes widened in surprise. That was... EXCELLENT! "We have got to do something like this," She murmured to herself, loud enough for Juni and Issy to hear, her eyes stuck on the dessert she was having. There was no way something without fruits could be that good. |
After the Duck A La Orange with Wild Rice, Liz starts feeling a little to full. But knew it would be impolite to at least not try at least a little. She spoons a small helping of the one closest to her, and takes a bite. "This is delicious, thank you professor!" Liz says. |
