The Ministry of Magic Placement is now CLOSED

Looking for a job for an adult character? Come work in the Ministry of Magic! The placement questionnaire can be found here and will be open until June 11th. Make sure you've read the MoM RPG Rules/FAQ before completing your application (it's not that long!). We've added a guide to help you complete the quiz, as well as an example of a correctly filled out quiz.

To see which positions are currently available in the MoM, visit our Job Postings Thread. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean these are the ONLY positions we have available for you. We've been known to create jobs before based on awesome applications we've received.

Once you've filled out your application, you can visit Ministry Mingling for more information. Placement is a lengthy process for the MoM Staff, so please be patient after submitting your application. Your application will literally go through the "hands" of SEVERAL Ministry staffers for consideration and this type of process takes time. It may be UP TO A WEEK before you hear back from us. We're a thorough lot when finding the right job for you.


Who can take the Ministry Placement Questionnaire?

• Members! All members can apply. You need only to get your ten legitimate posts first. No RPG experience required.
  
• If you are not currently a member of the Ministry of Magic and would like to be - YOU may apply now!
  
• If you ARE currently a Ministry employee, but wish to change departments - simply retake the questionnaire using your new character.
  
• If you ARE currently a Ministry employee and wish to change characters within the same department, please note that specifically in questions 17 and 20 on the questionnaire. If you fill out the rest of the questionnaire and do not make it clear that you do not want to be moved, we assume you want a change of scenery and you WILL be moved.
  
• If you wish to have your current character considered for another job, a promotion, or another department - you may also take the quiz! Just use question 3 for letting us know what your wishes are. We cannot and will not make guarantees, of course, but we will review your character and their job and see what we can offer. Note that promotions will typically come In-Character from your Department Head with character longevity and reliability.

• Use this Guide to help you answer questions!
  
• An example of a correctly filled out quiz can be found here. Again, it's just an example. You're free to use it as a guide when filling out your quiz.
  
• All parts of the questionnaire should be filled out in-character (as your character, not as you). There is only ONE question that should be filled out from an OOC perspective, and that's the last question on the quiz.
  
• Question 14 asks for a letter of reference. Feel free to ask someone on the site to create one for you (only if their character knows your character) or you can create one of your own. Most members create their own.
  
• The more information that you supply on the application, the better we are able to place your character. Take your time and fill it out thoroughly! The longer the application, the better.
  
• Please fill out the entire application! Don't skip questions! If you must skip a question, then tell us why in the Additional Comments.
  
• Please note that questions seventeen and eighteen DO ask you about your placement preferences, but they are NO GUARANTEE you'll be placed or not placed in a particular department. These are just used as guidance when finding the right department for you.
  
• All departments have both inside and outside jobs, so please don't overlook any one department believing that it is all inside or outside. Your interests on your application will help is place you.

After Placement:

The only way to change your MoM character is to retake the placement questionnaire when placement time rolls around. So before you fill out your application, you need to think carefully about the character you'd like to play, because you won't be able to change again until another placement opens. The Ministry Placement fits very specific jobs (that are assigned by the MoM staff individually with much care and thought) to your specific character. So, you can't just up and change characters and keep the same job.

Ho, ho, ho, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

...and no, we haven't gotten our months all mixed up. It's Christmas and New Year's here in the SS RPGs!

We're giving our current MoM employees, a little IC holiday break. During the time placement is open, we'll celebrate the holidays in the RPGs. Because of this, the MoM RPG will be CLOSED until placement comes to an end. This means that you won't be able to access the forums during that time period.

Have no fear... there will be a Ministry orientation opening in just a few days. Current and new employees are invited to attend. More information will appear shortly, so keep your dancing shoes on hand and your eyes peeled!
