The Hogwarts Sorting is CLOSED!

SPOILER!!: Old Text
All SnitchSeeker members are now eligible to play TWO characters in the Hogwarts RPG. More information as to how this will work can be found below, and in this thread.

_____

Dear unsorted SnitchSeeker members:

The time has finally come! Any member who has earned their 10 legitimate posts to get out of the Platform 9¾ (Newbie) forum is now qualified to be sorted by the Hogwarts Sorting Hat. To be sorted on SnitchSeeker, simply respond to the questions in the Sorting Quiz as either yourself or from your character's point of view. Not a member? No problem! You can register here. (Note: Those who spam out of Platform 9¾ will have their quiz submissions deleted without notice and will be returned to the Newbie usergroup.)

You may only take the Sorting Quiz once, and the result of the Sorting Hat is final. Each House has equal responsibility and fun in the Hogwarts RPG, and there are great friends to be made regardless of where you are sorted!

Once you have been sorted, you may then take the Re-Sorting Quiz to be placed in a secondary house usergroup, which will allow you to play a second school character. See below for more information on Re-Sorting.

The Sorting will remain open until April 30th. After this, the next Sorting will be in April.

Please keep in mind that it may take a few days between when you submit your quiz and when you find out where you have been sorted. While we try to get everyone sorted within 48 hours, sometimes we are just flooded with quizzes and it takes a bit longer. If you have any questions or concerns about the sorting process, please contact Felixir by PM.

Thank you, and GOOD LUCK!

Dear already-Sorted SnitchSeeker members:

We are happy to bring back an exciting feature available to those members who qualify. For members who have been active in the Hogwarts RPG and are interested in trying out a character in a new House, the Re-Sorting Quiz is now available. Please follow the link for additional information about the requirements for re-sorting, which include but are not limited to:
  • No unexpired warnings or infractions
  • Participation in at least 3 different terms in the Hogwarts RPG (for your first re-sorting, and any after)
  • Links/terms used in previous re-sorting submissions cannot be used again

In addition to resorting a primary character, all members are now eligible to play two characters in the school RPG. More information on this addition to the school RPG can be found here. To be sorted into a secondary house, take the Re-Sorting Quiz and specify in the first question that you are adding a second character. Those wishing to resort from their secondary house in future must take the Re-Sorting Quiz as usual.

Guidelines regarding secondary houses:
  • When adding a secondary character for the first time, the only specific eligibility requirements are that you have graduated from the Newbie usergroup to Member status, and have already been sorted into a primary house.
  • When resorting from your secondary house, the re-sorting requirements (listed above) apply.
  • Active terms may only be used once per character when re-sorting. The links you provide must be relevant to the house/character you are resorting from. Posts of your primary character cannot be used to resort from your secondary house, and vice versa.
  • You may resort both your primary and secondary houses at the same time, provided you have three active terms and links to eligible posts in the houses you are resorting out of. In this instance, you must take the Re-Sorting Quiz once for each house.
  • When adding a second character for the first time, if you intend to play a second character in the house you are already sorted into, you must submit the Re-Sorting Quiz the same as if you were intending to join a different house.

If you are interested in re-sorting but are uncertain if you qualify or have any other questions, please contact Felixir by PM.

For referencing posts made in past terms, please use the Hogwarts archive and provide links to specific posts.

The re-Sorting will be open until April 30th as well.

Best of luck to all being Sorted or Re-Sorted!
We look forward to seeing you around the Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and Ministry RPGs.

How long does it take to be sorted? My daughter and I both took the quiz 3 days ago but aren't sorted yet and we are just wondering how long the process takes but I could not find info about the time limit, so I thought I should ask. Thank you

The special thing about the Sorting and Ministry placement quizzes on site are processed manually by real people who carefully take into consideration each response to find the best fit for members and this can take time. Sit tight a little longer ^_^
