So here is another one for you: if we haven't had 'time' to roleplay our character until they get us our wand in the Ollivander shop, will we be PMed the results of our quiz if we ask for them?

Also what happens if you don't get your wand and someone asks you what type of wand you have?

Clarification: Diagon Alley closes to student characters as soon as the train arrives to take the students to Hogwarts / Hogwarts Express threads open. (Which should be at some point tomorrow. April 30th.)


To answer both of you lovelies,
You may absolutely PM the Ollivanders shopkeepers and ask for your wand quiz results to be sent to you, yes :)
And I can't think of any usual reason someone would ask for your wand type :blink:, but again - you can PM the shopkeepers and ask if they would be so kind and PM you the results, OR you can always make up your own wand type. It's really up to you and what you feel is right! :D

I don't have my wand and the train leaves tomorrow, What do i do?

Usually one would go to Ollivanders and submit a filled out quiz form to the two lovely shop keepers who would then use the answers to design a wand, however due to the lateness of the hour, there is the option to design your own wand!

I chose to design my own, and I did it by searching online the varieties of wand wood and then wand cores, to custom design one to suit my characters!

So have fun with it!

Anybody knows, by any chance, at what time the Hogwarts Express will leave?

The Hogwarts Express threads will open some time today, probably later on, but there's no specific timing for these things. It will be open for a couple of days, so if it's a matter of not missing out on getting to play on the train, no worries! You'll have time :D

I'm another person who waited 7 days and still had no reply to my wand quiz and shop post. I've pmed the correct person for my house and still haven't recieved a reply. Have they given up on doing the wands? Should I pm the person for the other house?

Because the school term has begun, Diagon Alley is now closed to students characters therefore the Ollivanders shopkeepers won't be replying to old student posts now. However, those still eagerly waiting for their results are encouraged to PM.

If you've already PM'd, I'm very sure you'll get a response soon! :D Please do keep in mind there are many members PMing about their wand results and the two lovely shopkeepers are doing their very best to reply to everyone in a timely manner. ^_^

Happy to help. Those owls and newts represent how many O.W.L.s and N.E.W.Ts their student charracter or a former student character acchieved when they took the IC exams that are usually offered at the end of term for 5th and 7th year students.

As for the bio, yes it is alright to make up the occupations of the parents. If you catch the ministry sort next time its open you can even try to get into those divisions and play one of the parents.

Can I RP a young character, like a child in DA?

generally, it's preferred if children are accompanied by an adult (as that would be more likely in a real situation) unless it happens to be between terms and the character is a Hogwarts student. But other than that, sure. All characters are welcome in DA, whether Ministry, school (between terms), and otherwise. ^_^

If you're talking about becoming a shopkeeper well that's not something you can apply for. That's something you have to be asked to do. And there isn't a set criteria of what you can do to be asked. Other than to play in Diagon Alley, be helpful, mind the rules and have a ton of fun :yes:

But if you are talking about just RPing in Diagon Alley well you are more than welcome to RP your MoM charrie and when the school closes you are welcome to RP your Hogwarts charrie was well.

As long as you aren't RPing a current student, as in a student that would be on the train, then you are free to post!

This thread might help. You need to fill out this questionaire and then post somewhere in Gringotts. The shopkeepers there will sort out a vault for your character, and a goblin will tend to them.

I posted in the main hall and was instructed to go to teller one where I would show my application AND my wand. I just completed the application for my wand and haven't got it yet. Does this mean that I have to wait to finish this transaction? Or start all over again, since I'm sure the goblin is waiting for me and I have no wand to show him. Please help!!

Hi, I am kinda confused of the part were you go to see your supply list for your school things. When you go and RP do you just RP to get the stuff, or what? Also do I have to get my school things, or is it required?

I need to buy a telescope but the Wiseacres Wizard Equipment store is closed and we can't RP there. Any suggestion where I can get a telescope, or can I just make up and say that I got one?:-)

You don't HAVE to RP getting all of these things, no. I do suggest you RP your character in class next term as having all of the necessary supplies ;) But, no it is not REQUIRED that you play all of that out.

You are more than welcome to say you got one from wherever. It is not necessary to RP buying all of the supplies on the list. We DO encourage RPing in DA before term starts. If for no other reason than to familiarize yourself with other student/staff/etc. :D
