SS Downtime at 9pm EST TONIGHT!! (UPDATED)
 

We are rescheduling the move for Wednesday, September 10th (EST)

We have found it necessary (once again) to move servers. As such, we will experience some downtime on Wednesday evening at 9pm EST (that's the wee hours of Thursday BST - 2am or 1am UTC). Hopefully the downtime will be minimal (15 minutes) but, you are all aware that snags do occur so, don't panic if it takes longer. I'll try to keep everyone up to date if there are any delays by posting on our LiveJournal Blog.

In order to facilitate the movement of the site and keep downtime to a minimum we are asking that you refrain from adding images to the gallery, uploading display, signature, or avatar images (linking from your own host is fine), or uploading attachments starting at 6pm EST (11pm BST) on Wednesday, September 10th until we're back online after the move, hopefully just a few hours later. You can continue posting until we turn off the forums at 9pm EST and none of your posts will be lost however, images or files uploaded after 6pm EST will NOT transfer to the new server and will be lost.

Please note that some features of the site such as the gallery, chatroom, and radio may take a little longer to get back online as there are some extra settings and whatnot we'll have to tweak. Those should be back up by the end of Wednesday night (or whenever depending on your time zone ;) ).

Thank you guys so much for your patience once again and hopefully we can refrain from further inconvenience for a long time to come. :)

Aha, I'm so lucky xD Down time is when I'm at work, I won't go panic crazy and twitchy without SS! :P

Hehe, I lucked out. That's about when I go to bed.

haha Last time we lost smilies it wasn't a server switch, it was that our primary hard drive died and we couldn't recover any of the data. :lol: If you happen to find any of the smilies we lost, please PM them to me (or even just describe them and I might have copies on my computer I can upload ;))

I don't mean to be picky or rude or anything, but isn't the UK 5 hours ahead of EST? o.O So 9pm EST is 2am in the UK, or 3am in Denmark.

2am GMT, yeah. I miscounted in the article because the guy I'm working with have me the time in CST but, I'm EST and I've found most overseas peeps have an easier time converting EST to GMT so I gave it in that time, but counted 5 hours from 8 instead 9. oops! :lol:

hm. Did this have anything to do with how whenver I typed in "snitchseeker.com" to my web browser, all it did was show me weird cat pictures with captions that had bad grammar? Or is my computer just funky?
