This is my fifth year participating in Seektober and I'm aiming to complete the Aparecium challenge again. Trying for fifteen prompts and any extra as a bonus.

just a happy little astronomy tower (from imagination, not from canon or tbh
at all supposed to be the tower from the series). actually now that I think about it
it makes me think of the wizard's tower from stardew valley so let's say that's
what I was going for

1. That is a real STUD of a horse if I do say so myself. Stunning work, especially the perspective on the ears!
2. I was going to say that the tower is giving whimsy cozy game vibes, so the Stardew Valley inspiration makes perfect sense. I will take one in my backyard, please and thank you. Really enjoy the bricks and the illusion it creates for the whole tower
3. hiss hiss, what a cutie snake. Also like the illusion you created here with your lines and, like with the bricks, you didn't need to draw every individual scale to create the feel that the little snakey is covered with them.
4. roaring because he needs his morning coffee before feeling awake. I can relate. I'm especially drawn to those little hairs right in front of his ears for some reason...they just really draw the eye and help frame his face nicely.
5. Stunning - but why is this bird judging me so harshly
6. Adorable. The touch of the little flower is

embracing the video game influence here. now in colour!
I'm suffering from a lack of imagination at the moment so all these upcoming
prompts are... well. you'll see. it was a good opportunity to experiment with
the coloured pencils though.

okay, so I recognise this is anything but gloomy. my immediate thought
was to draw gloom (the pokémon, in case that isn't clear; actually, this was
the one that got me defaulting to pokémon interpretations in the first place),
but gloom is... well. I don't like gloom. aesthetically. so I drew oddish, who
evolves into gloom at around level 21.
I did more blending on this one than I did with snorlax (I just completely forgot
on that prompt honestly) and the difference is clear.

mimikyu, one of my favourite (possible most favourite?) pokémon.
'secret' because no one knows what it looks like. from the pokémon moon
pokédex: "A lonely Pokémon, it conceals its terrifying appearance beneath
an old rag so it can get closer to people and other Pokémon."

had a nightmare shading and blending this one and eventually gave up on it

I've heard SUCH good things about Prismacolor pencils and wow YUP they are gorgeous. I loooooooooooove how Oddish turned out especially and just all the Pokemon interpretations in general I may now possibly be holding out for an Eeveelution in all this because yes...you know, if you are accepting requests
No lack of imagination to be had here, I think these are very imaginative ways of interpreting things
ICONIC pipes, the bestest big boy looking all squishable, Oddish I don't like Gloom either being the perfect little jumping bean, and Mimikyu looking pretty haunted there with how the shading turned out. I know you said you don't like how it turned out and it was a nightmare, but I think it looks really great like this.
Really stellar work with those Prismacolors!

I dunno what you’re talking about but knight is flawless! I adore that the Astronomy Tower is a little crooked, it adds more interest and is more eye-catching that way, in my opinion. Now, that is one snek that I would not be terrified of; can I have him? He looks kind and playful xD
Your description of the lion made me laugh. That sleepy baby has been my spirit animal lately lol I love how fierce the eagle looks! Wouldn’t want to mess with him. Oh my gosh, it’s a cutie badger!!! Feely, I thought of Tobes immediately xD
The coloured works are so delightful! Excuse me while I flail around because… SNORLAX!!! That’s my sleepy baby! Want to hear something weird? Even before I opened the ‘gloom’ spoiler tag, I knew you would have done Gloom! I love your depiction of mimikyu as well!

these pencils are great tbh. this is the first time I've really used them for fun bold pieces and it's been fun trying out their blending capabilities. usually I do a base colour then use a solvent to break up the pigment and make the base smooth and then work lightly and with many hues on top of that but this time I've just been blending with the pencils themselves (because 1. lazy and 2. I've been working on both sides of the page) with just a couple of colours. it's cool to see what they can do first hand with a bold application.
also also. also. an eeveelution might be on its way. maybe

I like to think that those who know their pokémon could guess what pocket
monster was coming based on the prompt. meet magikarp, whose signature
move is 'splash'. which does nothing at all.

haunter seemed like a good choice for the haunted prompt. my favourite of that
particular evolution chain. also this and magikarp might be my favourites so far
based purely on how the colours turned out. white pencil working overtime too.
(still have three prompts left to colour and post before I sleep. may be over
the accolade deadline but it is what it is. I've got the linework done and am
determined to colour and I do be operating in a whole different timezone )

but also, can I please take a moment (or several) to just admire the COLOR of these two?! That orange and purple gradients are gorgeous and SO vibrant - almost like you used pastels and not colored pencils?! I am especially in awe with how Haunter came out - really really stunning coloring!

okay but honestly. I hadn't realised how vibrant these pencils could be because I was so scared of using too much pressure until I did that blending method and then woW. lowkey proud of those gradients too so :3 thank u for noticing

like hELLO????? pokémon is so dark sometimes when you pay attention to the
pokédex entries. according to some entries cubone is always crying. so now
we're both inconsolable.
