Dismissing them all seemed to be a bad idea. Somehow, and for some reason, Jane Holland was observing the floor -- with her face. Hoshino tilted his head from where he sat. Surely, the young miss would get up soon, right? Something in his gut told him this was unlikely. Loo Roll Jane was the type to remain immobile and hope that everyone forgot she was there. Ian wasn't going to be doing that anytime soon. "Jane?" he called from where he sat. "Do you require assistance?" |
Darn it. Jane HAD been hoping that she'd be forgotten and would be able to crawl to her feet unobserved but her now boss, was so GOOD at noticing when she was doing something mortifying. Thank you Ian. "I'm... okay." She used the table leg to get to her feet, brushed herself down with her hands and batted at her hair a bit self consciously. "I'm just fine. Just forgot my legs when I tried to leave just now." Which made sense only for a split second. |
Ian couldn't actually imagine what it was to forget Jane's legs behind. That was--quite a task all by itself. He tugged on his robes as he frowned. "Don't forget your legs when you go to my office," he said after clearing his throat and standing up. "Alright?" |
"I'll make sure to bring my legs and anything else you want and need." UM. "Not that you want or need... um... my .... legs or ... anything. Okay, bye!" Mortified!Jane scrambled for all her things and then she was gone from the conference room with remarkable speed. |
Jane Holland was an odd species of woman. Hoshino supposed that had something to do with her age--or not. Either way, Ian was just glad she was off his floor for now. He shoved his hands into his trouser pockets as he walked out. "I'll be in my office," he called out to the stragglers. "Sorting things out." Clearing his throat repeatedly, he walked out of the conference room. He could use a cough drop. |
