Healer & Care Station Just outside the Ministry Daycare, there is a separate area that has been set up for the use of our healers hired by the Ministry. It's a gleaming room of cleanliness with white floors and walls, dark wooden furniture, and silver accents. Everything has been sanitized and disinfected...and most of the equipment is new. It has all been put in place for the safety and welfare of the children and all Ministry personnel. Bumps and bruises? Scraped knees? Upset tummies? We deal with it all here! Not a child? No worries! All employees are welcomed to come and be seen. Adult tummy aches and bruises are just as important to us as well as providing each employee with a annual check-up. |
A silvery feline shape streaked into the area set aside for the healers, and leapt on to one of the nearby surfaces as soon as it found a recipient for its message. A large, ridiculously fluffy cat spoke with the voice of the Magical Law Enforcement department head. "Healer required in the Level Three break room, as soon as possible." And again, in case it was missed. "Level Three break room, as soon as possible." With that, the patronus faded out of sight. |
2106 tl After carrying his latest toddler patient back to Gaston's care and supervision, River went back to the Healer's station to check and update the records of all the patients he'd admitted. From burns, bumps, cramps, sprained wrists due to overly dramatic wand waving (seriously, what are these people up to, these days??) to the more usual headaches and indigestion. It was actually funny to see adults feigning these symptoms, so they get an excuse to use the relaxation pods beyond their lunch breaks. Sighing and shaking his head in amusement, River quietly reviewed all the charts before setting them back in the records room. For all of their sakes, he hoped the day would remain uneventful. |

Taking the lift up from level 9 Laurel soon stepped out on the atrium level and headed into the Healer & Care station to wait for her appointment. The blond unspeakable took the time to look around while she awaited her turn. |

"Laurel?" a query with a smile, the Healer stood in front of her former schoolmate and Hogwarts colleague, as he rubbed his hands dry. "You're not one to ask for an excuse slip to spend a few hours in a relaxation pod, so my guess is, you're here for your annual checkup, correct?" extending a hand towards the general direction of the records room, River accio-ed Laurel's records towards him, almost smacking his fellow healer in the face as he did so. Ehh, oops? |

She had heard a rumour, but know she knew it was true. Nodding she affirmed to him quietly. "Yes, I'm here for my annual checkup, but I also have lots of itchy red spots all over my body that I hoped you could take a look at?" That River was going to give her a check up felt comforting considering that they were former colleagues and she knew she could trust him. |

Taking a quick glance at her chart which was now in his hands, River gave her a nod of understanding as she led her away into one of the empty beds, drawing the curtain for some privacy. "Please, take a seat." he said, gesturing at the bed as he sat on the healer's stool. "Alright, I don't see anything amiss on your chart," he said as he magically propped her medical record on his knee. "There are a couple of things that could trigger skin allergies, but I'd like to know when you first noticed this? And if it is reoccurring?" information on time was very important to him, as this narrowed down his list of culprits. River's sure Laurel doesn't have all day to go through everything on that list. |

Looking down at her hands that had the red spots all over that stood out like lampposts against her pale skin Laurel said when she raised her gaze to meet Rivers. "I first noticed a few red spots about a week ago and since then they have multiplied and have branched out over my skin. First they were just on my hands and feet." She paused here briefly to show him her hands. "I usually don't have any skin allergies so these aren't reoccuring. I treat my skin with care and use healer approved ointments and lotions." |

As it is, River was able to deduce two possible causes for Laurel's medical case. "Let's start first at home. Do you have kids you go home to? Or maybe, pets?" he asked as he removed his gloves and vanished it by crumpling it in his hands and reached for the hand sanitizer once more and began to look for anti-itch creams and ointments in one of the drawers. |

Nodding Laurel affirmed. "I go home to both pets and children. I have 4 children in the age range of 3-10 and well two kneazles, two pygmy puffs and an owl." It was a full house. That River kept cleaning his hands was a bit worrying. Was what she had so serious? |

"I see. And none of your children have these symptoms? Fever, rashes, loss of appetite?" the thing with treating patients was he had to be very thorough and do some investigation as well. Merlin knows if her family was infected too, and Laurel was not even aware. It was River's job to give the correct advice, if his initial suspicion was correct. |
Sometime between the Healer & Care Station closing for the day and opening the next, the supplies were rearranged. Instead of all the Pepper Up Potion being grouped together, it's intermingled with Cough Potion and a container of tea. Did someone have an accident? The Invigoration Draught is missing, with burn paste sitting in its place on the shelf. Either someone failed to do inventory correctly, or potions have gone missing... |
