Less/Ili Beauxbaton Sieve ooc: Ok so this is November 2064 Less' second year teaching at the school and Ili's 3rd. Alessia was sitting in the Beauxbaton great hall taking her time and sipping her espresso as she read her book. |
Eager for some peace and quiet, Iliana found herself wandering the Great Hall for a place to relax. The stormy weather had ruined her plans for a walk by the lake, and she was determined to make the best of her day regardless. As she made her way down the aisle, she spotted Alessia nearby. Quietly, she sat down a few seats away and pulled out some parchment. |
"Professor Morgan," Alessia smiled at the girl who came to sit at the table... "How goes the Beauxbaton Arithmancy Club?" She turned back to her novel and continued reading. |
Iliana looked up from her parchment and smiled. "Things are going splendidly, Professor Lupa, thanks for asking." she said, placing her quill down and scooting a bit closer. "And how are your classes getting along?" she asked. |
"Just fine, the children are so attentive and so excited to learn." She said putting a napkin where she was finished reading her novel to keep her spot. "You know they actually asked me if they would come to search for new ruins... as to decipher them." |
"Well, I hope you said yes. That sounds like fun." She said, scooting closer still until she was only a few feet away. "You know, until I started teaching here, I never would have imagined how much fun it would be working with children. They are all just so precious." She said. "That probably sounds pretty silly, huh? But silly or not, I love it here." |
"I'm glad you are enjoying it..." she said nodding to the woman. "I have asked the Headmistress permission to take the seventh years to Norway, I have a friend there that is leaving an expedition, and he would love some help. So we'll see where that goes... I'm not holding my breath though... Overnight trip... with me... She won't allow it." She turned to the woman... "maybe you could help me escort them..." |
"Best job in the world." Iliana said, smiling sweetly. "Expedition you say? How exciting that would be. Surely the Headmistress will see what an opportunity that is. But if you could really use an escort, count me in. I am always up for a little adventure." |
"Oh it's not because I need an escort... I'm just sure the headmistress will approve of you being the lead on this and me following along, than the other way around." She smirked and took the book back to continue her reading... Ashwinder Fires... she could never put down a good romance novel. |
Iliana shook her head slightly in obvious confusion. "But Professor...I don't understand. This is your class. YOUR expedition. Why on earth would she want me in charge?" She asked. "Certainly you'd be the best person for the job." |
"I have a condition, which is under control," she assured her, "that may not make me the best lead on this expedition." She put her book down again, closing her eyes and pausing when she realized she'd forgotten to mark her spot. "Please," she said outstretching her hand to Iliana's "Ili... please? You said yes, and I would act like the lead once I get permission, I just don't have it yet... please, please, please?" |
Iliana listened intently as Alessia started to explain herself. There was something about the way she said "condition" that made her worry but that really seemed to be the least of her problems right now. Alessia needed her. If she felt like elaborating later, then she would. Still not fully understanding the reason behind her request, Ili only had to glimpse her pleading expression for a second before replying. "Say no more. Anything you need, really. Consider it done. Just tell me when and where you need me and I'll be there." she reassured her. |
"Ili, you are great." She whispered. "I'll write up a letter and you can read it. If you approve, you will sign it and send it to the Headmistress... Oh this is so going to be an amazing trip... there was something about Ili's scent she liked... like she wanted to chase her around the great hall... Oh well... |
Iliana nodded eagerly. "I'm sure I'll approve. Just bring the letter by my office when you're done and I will take care of everything." She patted Less on her shoulder, suddenly unable to stop smiling. She could just see them now, romping through Norway, their students in tow. The image was clear as day in her mind. "When do you think we'll go?" she asked, ready to pack her bags right then and there. |
"Well, I was thinking March or April... it'll be a blast, and I'm sure we could figure something arithmancy like to do..." She smiled back at her. |
Norway time :) After a few last 'Love you & Goodnights' to the girls, Iliana made her way down the quiet corridor towards her room. She slipped inside quietly, making sure not to let the door slam when it closed. "Hey Less, you still awake?" She whispered. |
"Yeah..." She said reading another romance novel. "How are the girls?" She asked smiling. "The boys were funny... they asked me if I would mind them having a slumber party with the girls..." She turned the page... "As If!" |
"They're great. Giggling like always. I hope they sleep, we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow." she said. "Pfft! The boys would ask that." she said, rolling her eyes. "Well, at least we can be rest assured that they'll stay in their rooms." She said, patting her wand through her clothes. "I think I'll have some tea, would you like some?" She offered, making her way over towards the little kitchenette. |
"Tea would be lovely, Ili." She said putting down her book. "Thank you so much for agreeing to this, I would have had my hands full with both the boys and the girls... they are wild..." |
Iliana returned with two cups in hand. "Here you are, Less." she said, offering her one and sitting down beside her. "You know, I wouldn't have missed this for the world. I'm have having so much fun. And the kids are never going to forget this. It was such a great idea." She took a sip of her tea and set the cup down in front of her on the table. "Actually, there's something that I have been meaning to tell you. We are always so busy at school and well....I was thinking that now is the perfect time." |
"Tell me?" she said putting her book on her nightstand and sipping at her tea... "Mmmm Earl Gray... What is it Ili?" She asked summoning some tea cookies from downstairs. "Cookie?" she offered. |
Iliana shook her head slightly and smiled. "No cookies for me, thanks." she said. Then she looked her friend in the eyes and sighed. "Well, I have been giving it a lot of thought and I...uh, the thing is, I don't think I'm coming back next term." She blurted out. "I really need to be closer to home. Three years away is just too long. So, I figured I'll finish out the term and then its time for me to leave." |
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that..." She said sadly. "I've enjoyed working with you, it's nice to have a friend on Staff, my boyfriend is always so insistent I have friends other than himself... and that are girls... Sometimes I wonder about him..." She took another sip. "Well before you leave, Remi and I simply must have you over... are you seeing anyone?" She asked with a mischievous smile. |
Iliana wasn't quite sure what reaction she had expected from Alessia, but if she was mad, it wasn't showing off on her face. She breathed a sigh a relief and said, "I know. That's the worst part. Leaving you …and these great kids... It makes it hard to go." She said, quietly. Haha Remi. She thought, rolling her eyes playfully. Looks like your insecurities are showing. He sounded just like her last boyfriend, Thomas. She hesitated a moment; then with a little laugh -- "No, I'm not. Why do you ask?" |
"I love playing matchmaker... tell me what type you like and I'll find someone to suit you!" She said excited. "Pleeeeease, Remi has many friends..." |
